Carol woke the next day feeling refreshed knowing she wasn't visiting Daryl today took some pressure off. She felt lighter. She rung him yesterday to tell him she was taking time to think and refresh her batteries. He freaked out over the phone begging her to come see him so they could talk. She had said a firm no. She was tired, and she would be topped over the edge by burning the candles at both ends.

She was still waking through the nights feeding Sophia, she didn't want to stop, she wasn't ready. She just needed time. She told him she would come visit tomorrow if he was in a better frame of mind than he had been for the past week. He kept texting her to a point she text him back to tell him she was turning off her phone.

She turned her phone on, she rolled over in her bed looking at it as it sprung to life and the missed calls and texts come flooding to her phone. She groaned flicking through them.

'I'm sorry,'

'Don't leave me,'

'I love you,'

'I was wrong,' Carol wondered if he believed it or was just trying to get her to come back to the hospital.

'I'm missing my girls'

'I need you,'

'Carol, babe, don't be mad,'

'Tell me where you are?'

'Where are you?'

'What do I have to do to get you to come back?'

Her phone kept going with alerts from text messages, her voice mail box was full. She looked at her phone and it was ringing it was Andrea, she hesitated and then answered just in case there was a medical emergency with Daryl. She answered the phone.

'Hey,' She answered the phone, getting out of bed, standing up looking in at Sophia who was still sleeping.

'Where are you?' Daryl's voice come across the phone.

'God, Daryl, I thought you were Andrea,' Carol was pissed she gave him her phone to ring her. 'I'm so mad right now and I've only been up for ten minutes,'

'Don't I stole it, she doesn't know I've got it,' he admitted.

'What do you want, I told you yesterday I would ring you tomorrow, come and see you then,' Carol told him.

'Baby, I'm sorry,' Daryl said, 'I'm sorry I did it without thinking, where are you?'

'I can't do this right now, I'm in town, I'm fine, I need a break, I'll see you tomorrow,' Carol told him, 'I love you, I will see you tomorrow,' and she hung up. She went into the toilet and took a shower, her phone kept going off, she was so pissed off he rang her using Andrea's phone. She washed her hair and then managed to get showered and dressed. Carol looked at Sophia again she was kicking around her bed kicking off the blankets and smiling up at her.

'Your so cute Sophia, its a pity your Dada is a dumbo sometimes,' Carol told her, 'We will go see him later,'

Carol changed and fed her again. Then they headed down stairs looking around for Jo, they found her in the kitchen at the stove. The kitchen was smelling so yummy and spicey smell, and another smell wafted across the room.

'Good morning, I'm making stewed apples for Sophia,' Jo told her. Carol nodded coming across to see Jo had jar's lined up along the bench and was ladling it into the jars. She looked like she was making food for all the babies in town. 'I've done vegetables also,'

Carol smiled and nodded, she moved around to make a coffee, 'Thank you, I'm sure she will love it, I haven't really started her, she's had a little,' Carol tried to explain, 'I mean I have no idea what I'm doing, and with Daryl...'

'Just tell me if I'm over stepping things Carol or interfering?' Jo told her, Carol shook her head. She was not in the right frame of mind to worry about someone stepping in where they shouldn't especially someone like Jo who was doing things to help and didn't leave her standing there feeling like a bad parent.

'Your not, I'm just annoyed because I answered the phone thinking it was Andrea but it was Daryl,' Carol told her, 'Left me not in a good mood,'

'That man,' Jo said 'He's never going to learn is he,'

'Nope,' Carol jiggled Sophia on her hip she was grizzling a little, 'I'm going to ring the hospital to talk to Andrea to see how he is,'

Carol phoned the hospital and actually talked to Andrea, she found out he was agitated and they had given him a sleeping pill, Andrea asked where she was and she told her she was hanging with the Greene's for a few days. Andrea understood and told Carol that she was thinking about discharging Daryl tomorrow so they would all have the benefits of the joy he would bring back to their house. Carol spoke to her some more telling her he had swiped her phone. Andrea promised to come out see her after work. Carol come back into the kitchen and found Jo offering Sophia a spoon with a tiny bit of apples on it. Sophia put her hand in the food and smashed it around. Carol smiled watching her she seemed to be really enjoying the apples.
