She just turned her phone off. Andrea knew where to find her if she was needed, she reluctantly left Sophia with her Uncle Merle while she went to pick up Daryl from the hospital. She wasn't speaking to him and he wasn't speaking to her.

She managed to get his sulky arse into the truck with limited strain on his body, he was grunting as he sat down.

'You sure you feel ok to come home?' she asked him.

'I'm fine, don't need no looking after, I can take a piss and hold my own dick you don't have wipe my arse neither,' he growled.

She looked at him, 'Don't speak like that in front of me,'

'I'm fine, just take me home,' he asked in a softer tone. He had no doubts she might just march him back into the hospital and say she changed her mind about taking him home. He was tired and sore, he missed her, 'kiss?' he tried to turn to her but couldn't

'Will it stop you being grumpy?' she leaned over and planted one on him. She was mad at him still but at the same time she wanted to snuggle up with him in bed or on the couch without people poking him and looking on. Two weeks today they had been married. 'And talking about what you do in the toilet because thats kinda gross,'

'Maybe, depends on how good it is, ain't seen ya for nearly two whole days,' Daryl told her. She bent over towards him giving him the briefest of kisses. He moaned about it being so short. She started the truck and he fell asleep within minutes of the 20 minute ride back to their house.

When she arrived she debated about waking him finally giving him a wee nudge and calling his name. Merle come out to help him up the three steps onto the deck. He didn't stop until he had him in the bathroom as he wanted to use it, he waited while he went and washed his hands then helped him until he had him sitting on the side of the bed. Daryl protested he wanted to see his baby who was rolling around on the floor, rolling all the way to the tv, and rolling her way around the lounge.

Merle told him he would bring her to him once he was in bed he could have her in there. Merle pulled his shoes off and Daryl stood up pulling off the track pants he was wearing moving into the bed. He was tired, breathing heavy. He leaned back and shut his eyes, thankful to be home with his family, even Merle he was excited to see them all. He was please Carol come to get him. She was going to go nuts when she turned her phone on and saw all his messages.

Carol was bringing his stuff in bit by bit, she put it on the table. Sophia demanded her attention blabbing from her point on the floor. She managed to wedge herself in between the chairs. Carol stopped to talk to her, bending over to pick her up. She was happy and chatty, two red cheeks. She still had things to bring in from the truck so she took her into see Daryl he had his eyes shut and seemed to be breathing through the pain.

'You hurting?' Carol asked him.

'A bit,' He told her, his eyes lit up seeing Sophia with Carol. He held out one arm to her. 'Please,'

Carol come over passing Sophia into his good side, 'You need some pain meds? or anything?'

'My girls?' he told her.

'I've got to get your stuff from the truck,' Carol told him.

'I've got it,' Merle come to the door, 'got all sorts of meds here, what do we wanna do Carol?'

'Antibiotic's and pain,' Carol said.

'Don't need pain,' Daryl told them looking at Sophia trying to see her and Sophia was trying to get out of his arms.

'You be Mr Grumpy pants I'll put you out on sleeping pills,' Carol told him, he made a sour face then looked at her with a look that told her he was going to behave.

'I'll have them if you come into bed with me, watch some tv?' he asked her, she gave him a half nod, she had to feed Sophia anyway. Sitting and snuggling what right at the top of her things to do. She felt refreshed, and she could talk to him later once they had Sophia down for a nap.

An hour later Carol tucked Sophia into her cot, she'd out grown her little bed and Merle helped her Clear out the spare room and make a nursery for her. She'd picked out some furniture for her a few days ago, wanting to have her moved before Daryl come home. She also put a single bed in there she didn't know how Daryl would cope with woken nights and midnight feedings now. There was more things she wanted to get for her, but she thought Daryl might want to be involved somewhat.

'Why did you move her?' he asked her.

'So you can sleep and rest, so she can sleep and rest,' Carol told him when she come back with the baby monitor, all the doors were open, she was sound asleep and they could even hear her little snorts without the monitor. She stretched and yawned.

'I'm going to shower, you need anything?' Carol asked him.

'Hmmmmm can I come watch you shower?' he looked hopeful. She shook her head and said, 'Maybe you can come shower with me? Your dressing is water proof,'

They took a quick fumbly shower, Daryl was tired but wanting to touch her, they were lucky he didn't send them tumbling out. She managed to get her shower in and then helped him get dried and back into boxers and tee shirt and off to bed again. He yawned and tried to roll into her, she knew he was interested in more than a cuddle. She shook her head and snuggled into his side instead.

'No way, plus, we still need to talk about your behavior too,' Carol told him, he nodded and shut his eyes asleep in moments with her by his side and his baby snuffling in the monitor.
