Making her way over to the Roscoe house, Lindsey smiled to herself as she knocked gently on the door. She inhaled then exhaled as she waited for somebody to answer. She jumped slightly as the sound of the opening door creaked.
"I was wondering where you got to." Joe said, pulling the door open with a grin as he saw Lindsey.
"I had another practical to do, kept me behind for ages." Lindsey moaned, stepping into the house as Joe invited her in. "How's that hand of yours?"
"I can't really use it that much so just perfect!" He replied sarcastically, closing the door behind her.
"Come on, I'll take a look at it for you. Could do with the practical training anyway." She smiled and stepped out of the way to let Joe past, taking off her coat and hanging it up alongside her back. She followed Joe into the front room and took a seat beside him on the sofa.
"Honestly, Linds. It's fine." He said, taking a sharp breath as Lindsey looked at the wound on his hand.
"Fine? That's why you're flinching then." She replied with sarcasm, sighing as she let go of his hand.
"It's a cut, I'm a man, I'll survive unlike somebody." He joked, smirking at Lindsey.
"Sure, whatever you say." She giggled and placed a gentle kiss on his lips, Joe mirroring.
"Ew, get a room you two." Freddie said in a disgusted tone as he walked into the living area, his mobile in his hand as he avoided any eye contact with Lindsey.
Lindsey pulled away from Joe and they both let out a quiet chuckle between them. She glanced over at Freddie and had to discreetly bite her lip so she didn't smile.
"Only because you can't get a girlfriend, Fred." Joe responded, laughing to himself at his brother.
Freddie scoffed and made his way into the kitchen, glancing back at Lindsey who was too busy chuckling along with Joe to even notice him. Sighing, he placed his phone onto the side and began clearing up the mess the twins had made that morning.
"I'm gonna nip down the shop and get us a bottle of wine and something to eat, you alright here? Mum will be back with the twins anytime soon." Joe voiced, standing up and grabbing his jacket from the side.
"Yeah yeah, I'll be fine." Lindsey replied, standing up as he did.
"I love you, I won't be long. Make yourself at home. " He placed a kiss onto her lips and left the house.
"I'm so sorry, I'm boring you with all my problems." Lindsey said, taking a sip of her water as she sighed.
"Nah, it's alright. I'm here to listen when Joe isn't." Freddie replied, sipping on his drink.
"Speaking of Joe, where is he?" She glanced around the living area where she was sitting beside Freddie.
"God knows, probably got into some fight down an alleyway somewhere." He shrugged, standing up and placing his empty glass into the sink. "Hang on, don't listen to me. He's probably just gotten held up."
"Don't say that!" She chuckled, getting up and doing exactly the same. "It wouldn't surprise me though, the amount of times he's called me up since we've been together, telling me that he's got himself put in a cell or in hospital."
"It's in his blood, been like it ever since he was a teenager. We'd always walk home from school together and he'd always have some kind of cut or bruise from the fight he'd been in this afternoon."
"Sometimes I wonder why I'm with him. I love him, of course I do but he brings so much stress into my life." She sighed deeply and turned to look at the floor.
Freddie looked over to Lindsey and sighed quietly to himself. She looked upset and all he wanted to do was hug her but that wouldn't have been right, this had been the only time they'd spoken properly.
"He may seem flaky and all that but I promise you, he's better than you think. Got a good heart." He flashed a smile at Lindsey.
"You're right. Look, I'm going to go. I've got work to do and I haven't got the time to waste worrying about him." She left the kitchen and picked up her coat, putting it on and placing her bag over her shoulder. Freddie followed her, stopping as he leant on the doorframe of the living area.
"I'll tell him you had to leave and I promise I won't tell him that you said he's stressful." He chuckled, winking in a friendly manner.
"You're a star. I'll see you soon, yeah? Thanks for listening to me, I think I just spoke about myself that whole time."
"My pleasure, like I said. I'm always here if you need to talk to when Joe isn't around; you could be my sister in law soon for all I know."
"Well, I wouldn't count on it." She giggled and stood on her tiptoes, pulling him into a gentle hug. "It's been great to get to know you better." She placed a kiss on his cheek and pulled out of the hug, heading towards the front door. She glanced around to him as she opened the door. "Bye." She said quietly before exiting the house.
"Bye." He mirrored, closing the door behind her and smiling to himself. He finally got to talk to her and learn more about her. The way she smiled at him, the way she spent most of those two hours talking about herself it just made him fall for her even more.
Lindsey called her Mum to pick her up. As she arrived home, she stepped into the house, kicking her shoes off by the door and hanging her coat and bag up.
"Lindsey's been at her boyfriends, oooh!" A 12 year old Kim said from the living room.
"Be quiet Kim." Lindsey glared at her sister and poked her tongue out.
Making her way through the house, she took a seat at the table in the kitchen and smiled to herself. Why couldn't she get Freddie off her mind? Spending that time with him was amazing, those two hours they spent just chatting. She learnt so much about him and what she knew, she loved. She had to act like there was nothing between them when they were together, she was with his brother afterall but there was no denying that there was a spark between the two.
