Lindsey unlocked her car, chucking her bag and books in the back. She waved her friends goodbye as she jumped into the driver's seat of her car, putting the key in the ignition and leaving the university campus. She drove over to the Roscoe's as Joe had asked to see her and to have a cosy night in. Pulling up outside, she climbed out of her car and grabbed her bag from the backseat, locking it up as she made her way to the door, knocking gently.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Freddie asked, opening the door as he saw Lindsey.

"Fred, I'm here for Joe. Is he not around?" Lindsey asked, glancing around.

"Said he had important work to do." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.

"That's his excuse every single time. Anyway, I better get going if he's not around." She smiled at Freddie before turning on her heels to leave.

"Wait, Linds! Do you fancy grabbing a coffee or something?" Freddie voiced.

Lindsey came to a halt and turned around to face him, smiling softly and nodding gently.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" She responded.

"Great!" He grabbed his leather jacket, closing and locking the house before putting the key under the doormat for the others and putting on his leather jacket.

"I'm pretty sure every time I go to yours, Joe is never there when he tells me he is. We always end up 'grabbing a coffee' instead." Lindsey chuckled as both she and Freddie walked along the concrete path overlooking the beach.

"I know, god. He always leave me to deal with you." Freddie joked, winking in a friendly manner at her.

"Haha, very funny." She replied sarcastically, letting out another chuckle as she pulled her khaki further around her body.

"You look cold, here you go." He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her, Lindsey glancing back and smiling at him.

"You don't have to, you'll be cold!"

"I'll be fine, just take the jacket alright." He laughed softly and wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"You're such a gentleman, Freddie Roscoe. Why can't your brother be more like you?" She sighed, kicking a pebble out of her way as she walked.

"Just doing what a friend would do. I won't tell him you said that."

Lindsey came to a halt, holding Freddie's jacket tightly around her as she turned to face him.

"Is it really bad to think that he might have someone else?" She said sadly, looking up at Freddie.

"Honestly Linds, he's just busy with the garage business, that's all." He assured her.

"Am I not good enough for him? Do I not spend enough time with him?"

"Don't say that, course you are. Infact, you deserve someone so much better than him. He bails on you, you always make the effort to see him and he's never there."

"And that's what makes me think that he's having an affair, going somewhere else. I've not seen him for days."

"Look, give him time. He'll realise what he's missing out on."

"Missing out on what? A 20 year old who is too wrapped up in her studying to even think about her boyfriend."

"Hey, you are an amazing, beautiful, intelligent woman and that is exactly what he is missing out on. One of the most amazing people I have ever met."

Lindsey glanced up at him and they both caught eachothers gaze, a small smile forming on Lindsey's lips as she bit her lip discreetly.

"You're just saying that to make me feel better about all this." She chuckled quietly before looking back to the floor.

"I'm not actually. These past couple of months I've gotten to know you, you've shown me how great some people really are. Lindsey Butterfield, I got your name right, didn't I?" He asked politely.

"Yes, you got my name right." She giggled and smiled at the fact he had to question her name.

"Right, Lindsey Butterfield. You are going to be an inspiration to so many people one day, you're one to me right now. You've got everything going for you, you're at university, you're going to be a doctor! And you deserve so much more than Joe, you don't want to get tied down with him, that's what I'm trying to say."

"You really think so?"

"I really do, you need to go and find Joe and sort stuff out between you."

"Not before I do this." She whispered.

Lindsey took a deep breath in before standing on her tip toes and capturing Freddie's lips with hers. In the short moment it happened, everything felt right for once. She quickly pulled away, her eyes locked with Freddie's.

"I-I'm sorry. I just-"

"Sssh." He soothed.

Bending down slightly to her height, Freddie pulled Lindsey into a long, lingering kiss. Lindsey responded, as they stayed that way for a minute or so. Breaking for air, Lindsey rested her head against Freddie's as she closed her eyes for a minute.

"This is so wrong." She whispered, staying in exactly the same spot.

"But so right?" He breathed, finishing the sentence.

Lindsey nodded and almost immediately looked back up and him, stood on her tiptoes and pulled him down into another passionate lingering kiss. She knew exactly what she was doing to Joe but this was what she really wanted.
