"Right, yeah. Me and Freddie have something to tell you all and we wanted to tell everyone at once." Lindsey said quietly, glancing over at Freddie who squeezed her hand and nodded. "We've decided to give us a go and get together, well, it's been this way for a couple of weeks but yeah."
"What?" Everyone said in unison, the twins looking up from their food and glancing around.
"You and him?" Joe said angrily, his anger building up.
"Joe, I know you're not going to like this but we were over weeks ago, you chose Lauren over me and Freddie was there to pick up the pieces, we just clicked."
"I can't deal with this, with you." He added, standing up and shoving his coat on, Freddie getting up and stopping his brother.
"Fred, please just sit down." Lindsey whispered, standing up also.
"Boys, come on now. Not infront of the twins and Kim." Sandy and Helen both said at the same time.
"I ain't bothered, be quite entertaining actually." Kim voiced, shrugging her shoulders, Lindsey shoving her sister.
"Me and Lindsey broke up and what, you take advantage of her and just hop into bed with her?" He spoke, stepping closer to his younger brother.
"Joe, please. It's not like that, it's nothing like that!" Lindsey shouted, her voice breaking.
"I knew coming here with everyone was a bad idea." He muttered, sighing deeply. "I can't believe you'd do this to me."
"It's not all his fault, stop blaming Freddie because he hasn't done anything wrong!"
"But he has!" Joe yelled, taking another step closer to Freddie as Freddie stepped back. "He just wanted you all to himself, he probably planned it all, outing me."
"I would never do that." Freddie said sternly. "Joe, just sit back down and we can talk."
"I am not talking to you." He yelled again, glaring at Freddie.
"Mum…" Jason and Robbie both whispered in unison, looking at Sandy.
"Why don't you go boys go and sit in the front room?" Sandy glanced at Helen who nodded and the two boys ran off into the living room. "Joe, come on love. Sit down."
"You betrayed me." He spoke quietly.
"Like you betrayed Lindsey then?" He fought back, Joe immediately bringing his hand up to connect with Freddie's face as the family gasped.
"Joe!" Lindsey shouted at him, bending down to Freddie and helping him up. "Just go, Joe."
"That is enough!" Sandy yelled loudly, jumping up from her seat and grabbing Joe with the help of Lindsey's dad. "You're coming with me, let's go."
"Get off me!" He shook his Mum off his arm, pushing her back slightly.
"Don't you dare take this out on Mum." Freddie voiced angrily, lunging for Joe but Lindsey jumping infront of him to stop him.
"Fred, please." Lindsey whispered, glancing up at him. "Leave Joe."
Joe shook his head and grabbed his jacket from the seat, quickly leaving the house and slamming the door behind him. Sandy looked around awkwardly as the whole family looked at her.
"I'm so sorry for him, can't control his temper. Never been able to! Thankyou for a lovely meal, Mr and Mrs Butterfield but I better go, twins need their beds and Joe needs to be stopped." Lindsey's parents nodded and saw Sandy and the twins out.
"Glad you got rid of him." Kim spoke, smiling sarcastically at her sister before running upstairs as Lindsey glared at her.
"Let's go get you cleaned up." Lindsey said to Freddie, smiling apologetically as they headed upstairs.
"Hold that there, keep your head back." Lindsey spoke gently, perching herself on the edge of her bed as she handed Freddie a gauze and gestured for him to keep his head back due to the nose bleed he'd sustained.
"Thanks." Freddie said softly, leaning his head back to help the bleeding. "Look, I'm sorry about Joe. He's had a temper on him ever since I can remember and I should've known he'd do this. I shouldn't have gone for him either."
"Hey, don't worry about it. I know what Joe's like and when you went for him, you only wanted to protect your mum. We just need to work around Joe, he'll have to deal with it eventually."
"I wouldn't have hurt him but I just didn't want to see him take his anger out on you or Mum or anything. We need to forget what he says and do what we want; we can't let him come between us."
"That's what I like to hear." She grinned, Freddie sitting up properly and chucking the mucky gauze into the bin.
"Thank god I had you here to patch me up." He joked, the pair of them letting out a chuckle. "I love you, Lindsey."
"I love you too." She replied quietly, leaning in and pressing her lips against his as the two of them got lost in a heated moment.
"You can give her back her face now." Helen said with a chuckle, standing in the doorway of Lindsey's room.
"There's a thing called knocking you know?" Lindsey spoke, turning to her Mum. "What do you want?"
"Charming! Just wanted to check everything was alright?"
"Everything's fine. We're both sorry about what happened." Lindsey glanced at Freddie who nodded in response.
"It's fine. Just so you both know, me and your dad are happy for you. But you look after our Lindsey otherwise her dad will be on your case!"
"Don't worry Helen, I'll be looking after Lindsey the best I can."
Lindsey smiled gently at Freddie and then nodded at her Mum as she left, closing the door behind her.
"Do you want to stay here tonight? I don't know how Joe's going to be if you go back."
"He's probably wanting to kill me right now but only if you're sure?"
"Of course I am, I'd be grateful of the company. Let's snuggle up and just chat, I could do with exactly that right now."
Freddie nodded and they both climbed into bed, Lindsey cuddling up as close as she could to Freddie and resting her head on his chest as the pair spoke for what felt like hours before falling to sleep.
