Carol rolled over and could hear Daryl walking around the room humming to himself, Carol could hear him but then she stilled in the bed. He wasn't humming to himself he was singing a low song to Sophia, looking out the windows of their hotel room showing her the lights of the city. She couldn't make out what he was humming but it wasn't a lullaby for a baby. Some god awful rock song he loved that he was teaching her the words to.

'She need me?' Carol called out.

'She's ok, are you ready?' Daryl's voice was low as he walked over to the bed, he had pulled on jeans and had Sophia cradled at his chest. She never got tired of seeing that site of them together. He loved her deeply she had no doubts in her mind about that. He tucked the baby with grabby hands into her front so she could latch her on. 'You ok?'

'I'm fine, whats the time?'

'Its 5ish I think,'

'She sleep though?' Carol looked at the little baby feasting at her chest. Her boobs were sore and she hoped Sophia was hungry.

'The monitor just went off about ten minutes ago, I changed her, she didn't seem to want you straight away,' Daryl leaned over and gave her a kiss. He rubbed Sophia's head and then he headed off to the bathroom. He come out drying his hands dropping the towel onto the table. 'What do you want to do today?'

'You know, we can just hang out, watch movies, play with Sophia,' Carol told him, 'Merle and Andrea come tonight, if we are all relaxed all day we could go out tonight to a movie or something,'

He nodded, stretched showing off his abs and he rolled his shoulders trying to loosen it up. He'd probably over did it yesterday. A day chilling in bed with the girls playing Sophia sounded like a dream date. Especially if he got to sleep when the baby slept. Carol wriggled to straighten up to burp the baby. He reached out to take her, Sophia cried thinking she had been cut off the milk supply and he wee hand banged on Daryl's chest as Carol rolled to try Get her to the other side. He tucked her back in her front.

They had been married less than 6 weeks, known each other less than 5 months but they knew this was for keeps. Sophia was his, Carol felt good in that understanding that he wanted Sophia and any more children they might have. She also felt good in herself putting the ghosts of Ed to bed, he wasn't all bad. She could see why he was the way he was. She supported him in his quest to get help. Thanked him for giving up Sophia to give her a better life. He made big changes of support for the baby. She didn't know what Ed's future brought but she did know that she was now feeling peaceful ready to move onto the next stage with Daryl.

Daryl slid into the bed beside her, stroking Sophia's little head, 'What are you thinking you're miles away,'

'Just thinking how crazy this was, how it all worked out, a wrong turn lead us to you,'

'Nah a right turn lead you too me,' he leaned forward giving her a quick kiss, then popped a little kiss on Sophia, he rolled onto his back trying to hide a whince from the pain in his shoulder as he did. He knew Carol saw it, she never missed anything. He glanced over at her, she was watching with a tiny smile on her lips. 'I'ma fine,'

'Yeah, I know,' He tried to get comfortable while moving about. He fell asleep, Sophia fell asleep and Carol dozed with the baby at her chest until it was a decent hour to actually think about showering and doing other things like lying around watching movies, and thinking about the next step in their lives.
