Lindsey made her way downstairs, sighing deeply as she walked into the kitchen. Flicking on the kettle, she made two drinks for both her and Freddie just as she felt two arms wrap around her waist. Sneaking up behind Lindsey, Freddie placed a kiss onto her cheek as he kept his arms firmly wrapped around her waist.
"Morning gorgeous." He whispered into her ear, Lindsey biting her lip discreetly as she smiled faintly.
"Morning." She whispered back.
"Have you got uni today? Or are you in no rush to get out of the house?" He questioned quietly.
"No uni, thank god for that. Why you asking? What have you got planned?" She asked, turning around and winding her arms around his neck.
"Oh, nothing." He shrugged unconvincingly.
"I know what you're playing at." She chuckled, leaning up and kissing him softly, the kiss becoming more heated by the second.
"Have you seriously got to do that in the kitchen?" Kim said in a strop, grabbing her school bag off the seat and looking at her sister with crossed arms. Both Lindsey and Freddie pulled away from each other and turned to the teenager, giggling quietly.
"You'll be like this one day with someone, y'know?" Lindsey spoke.
"It's a bit disgusting though." Kim shrugged, glaring at her sister.
"I'll see you upstairs." She said quietly to Freddie, smiling at him before grabbing her tea and stopping as she got to Kim. "Get over it Kimmy." Lindsey squidged Kim's cheeks playfully and chuckled, Kim pushing her sister away from her.
"You'll get used to it." Freddie said, shrugging his shoulders as he walked past the teenager and followed Lindsey.
Kim looked up at the tall male and looked him up and down as he walked, shivering at the thought of ever what her sister and her new boyfriend were doing.
Joe stumbled into the Roscoe house Ziggy holding onto his brothers arm as he closed the door gently. Sandy wandered out of the kitchen after hearing the door go and noticing at the state Joe was in.
"Where did you find him?" Sandy asked, crossing her arms.
"I'm not a child, he didn't find me." Joe slurred sitting on the bottom step of the stairs.
"Where do you think I found him?" Ziggy spoke, looking at his brother before at his Mum.
"Police station." Both Sandy and Ziggy said at the same time.
"He's gotta sort his life out. If he thinks this is going to win Lindsey back or this is going to cure all of his problems he is completely wrong. Get him upstairs, he needs to sleep this off."
Freddie made his way up the pathway to the Roscoe house, unlocking the door and stepping in to see a drunk Joe sat on the stairs and Ziggy and Sandy working out what they were going to do. He closed the door gently, shoving his keys on the side and putting his hands in his pockets.
"No, just no. He has no right to be in this house." Joe shouted, standing up from where he was sitting on the step and stumbling as he did.
"Woah, mate, you're drunk." Freddie said sternly, grabbing Joe's arm to stop him from falling.
"It's good to see you Fred. I'm going to go lock this one in his room." Ziggy joked, grabbing Joe's arm and basically dragging him upstairs.
"I've been worried about you – why didn't you call?" Sandy asked, hugging her son gently before pulling out and walking into the kitchen.
"I figured none of you would want to hear from me so I just kipped at Lindsey's and got on with life." He replied, following her into the kitchen and taking a seat at the breakfast bar.
"You should've called. I'm not angry with you, I'm actually really happy for you love. Lindsey deserves someone who is going to look after her and I know you'll do just that."
"You can't say that Mum, it should be Joe she's with." He sighed, putting his head in his hands.
"Okay so." Sandy exhaled and took a seat opposite her son. "It should be Joe that she's with, it should be Joe but it's you she chose. Whatever happened, she obviously loves you and it's you she wants to be with. Now, I shouldn't take sides because you and Joe are both my babies and I hate being in this position where I
have to say what is right and wrong but you and Lindsey, you two have got something going and you need to forget about Joe."
"But Mum-"
"I know what you're going to say, he's heartbroken and you feel bad blah blah blah. Joe is going to have to get over it because Lindsey doesn't love him."
"So, you're not going to chuck me out and tell me that being with Lindsey is wrong.
"Freddie." She placed her hand over his and smiled. "You're my son and I want what's best for you and Lindsey is good for you, she's going to help you get over all that bad stuff that happened over the years. Just look after her and stop worrying about your brother."
Later on that evening, Freddie and Lindsey took a stroll across the sea front, the exact same place they'd kissed for that very first time. Their hands entwined, Lindsey smiled to herself as everything ran through her mind. She sat down on the bench and Freddie sat beside her, his arm wrapped around her and her head resting on his shoulder.
"Do you remember what happened here?" Lindsey whispered.
"Of course I do, how could I forget?" Freddie replied.
"We are okay, aren't we?" She asked.
"Why wouldn't we be?"
"Just this whole thing with Joe, I thought it might have messed things up."
"I'm not going to let Joe come between us. I love you and nothing is going to change that."
Lindsey looked up and her mouth curved into a smile before resting her head back on his shoulder.
