After qualifying as a doctor, Lindsey was spending most of her days on her laptop searching for jobs. She'd applied for at least ten already and hadn't had any responses. Feeling two arms wrap around her from behind, she smiled slightly to herself, looking up and seeing Freddie.

"Any luck babe?" Freddie asked, looking down at Lindsey.

"Nothing." She replied, sighing lightly as she turned back to the laptop.

"You only qualified a couple of weeks ago, it just takes time. You'll get something." He placed a kiss on her head before walking into the kitchen to make them both a drink.

"It's just annoying, all this waiting and I just have a gut feeling I won't get anything."

"Don't put yourself down, of course you'll get something. You're a great doctor, just gotta wait for the right place to come up."

"Thankyou for being so supportive with this, I love you for that."

"I'll support you through whatever even if you move hundreds of miles away which I sure hope you don't by the way…"

"So, where have you applied?" Sandy asked, looking through Lindsey's paperwork.

"A couple of hospitals around here, one in London and one in Chester but I just don't think I'm going to get in." Lindsey sighed, placing her head in her hands.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, love! You only qualified not that long ago and you've gotta give it time.

"I know, I know. I just really anxious waiting to know whether there's a place anywhere."

"I'm sure there is, all these hospitals must get tons of applications."

"Lindsey!" The two twins shouted, dropping their school bags and running into the kitchen to Lindsey.

"Boys, hello!" Lindsey said, moving her chair out and picking the two twins up, sitting them on her lap.

"How come we haven't seen you for ages?" Jason asked, looking at Lindsey intently.

"Oh, I've just had lots of work to do. You know, becoming a doctor can be very tough so I've had to do lots of schoolwork to do like you twow!"

"Oh! Did your teacher give you lots of work to do at home? Because we've got lots of homework to do." Robbie spoke, also looking at Lindsey intently, earning a chuckle from her.

"Yes, something like that!"

"Oh, I see now!" The twins spoke in unison.

"It's all I heard on the way home, Lindsey this, Lindsey that." Freddie said, walking into the kitchen and putting is car keys down on the side.

"Go on boys, why don't you go get yourselves changed?" Sandy chuckled, the twins nodding and jumping off Lindsey's lap, making their way upstairs.

"My goodness Sand, your kids are cute." Lindsey spoke, taking a sip of her tea.

"Which ones?" She chuckled again.

"Fred?" Lindsey said sweetly, turning to look at him.

"Don't you even think about it, Lindsey." Freddie replied, walking over to her and wrapping his arms around her from behind.

"But they're cute!" She whined childishly.

"And they also wake you up at six AM to tell you their hungry and demand you go and get them breakfast. Do you want that every morning?"

"If I get a cute child, course!" Lindsey turned to look at him, smiling smugly.

"You've got a job to find before you even think about having kids, Linds. Get that thought off your mind."

Lindsey screwed her face up childishly, Freddie chuckling as he leant down and planted a kiss on her lips softly.

"Your mother is still in the kitchen you know." Sandy said to Freddie, awkwardly taking a sip of her tea.

"Sorry Sand!" Lindsey apologized, smiling over at her. "Oh, hang on. I better take this." She added, picking up her phone that began to ring and heading out into the hallway.

"Do you really think she was serious, mum?" Freddie asked, taking a seat on a stool by the breakfast bar. "About the kids thing."

"I doubt it! She's probably just broody after seeing my little rascals. It'll pass, don't you worry, she's got work to think about!"

Lindsey hung up the phone and sighed, walking back into the kitchen. She stopped in the doorway and placed her phone on the side.

"That was a hospital, they want to interview me to be a CT1." Lindsey grinned.

"No way, Linds! Where is it?" Freddie asked.

"About that. It's in Hollyoaks village, Chester. Dee Valley are looking for a new CT1 but it's pretty far to travel everyday.

"What are you going to do then?"

"I need time to think. Can we go for a walk or something?"

"Do you fancy taking the boys with you by any chance? I've got some work things that need to be done and I think they're going to be so bored."

"Sure, why not? We can take them down the woods or something, right?" Lindsey replied, glancing up at Freddie.

"That's fine with me."

Sandy nodded to gesture thankyou as Lindsey put on her coat, Freddie going off upstairs to get the boys. A short few minutes later, the boys came running downstairs and Freddie trailed behind them, going back into the kitchen.

"This'll be fun." He mumbled sarcastically, putting his leather jacket on. "Right, let's go. Bye mum."

Lindsey chuckled and took Freddie's hand, the pair of them walking out behind the twins.

"Have a lovely time!" Sandy shouted with a smile.

"We will!" All four of them replied.
