Freddie and Lindsey walked hand in hand through the town and to the woods, Robbie and Jason walking close in front of them. Arriving at the woods, Lindsey sighed as the pair of them took a seat on the bench, Robbie and Jason finding the best trees for climbing and starting a competition of who could get to the top first.
"Be careful and don't run off please!" Freddie called to his younger brothers.
"We won't!" The twins replied at the same time, continuing with what they were doing.
"What are you thinking about?" Freddie asked Lindsey, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer to him.
"Everything" Lindsey replied, moving up closer to him and resting her head on his shoulder.
"Everything, what's really getting to you?"
"I'm just thinking about our future, what taking this job'll mean for us."
"You taking that job don't mean it's the end for us."
"But it does. If I take that job, I'll have to move away from here, from you and my family and I couldn't do that."
"Linds, this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. There are probably a lot of people that would want to get out of this dump and move somewhere like Chester. I'm just saying, don't let me be the reason you don't go."
"I can't do it. My family is here, you're here and I've gotten to know your family so well I couldn't just leave. But this job, it could be one of the best things I could do."
"Then you need to take it, I can come and visit you and even bring the twins to stay, I know they absolutely love you!"
"It's not enough though. Who am I going to talk to after a long day? Who am I going to have there to just hold me and tell me everything's going to be okay when I feel like the world is getting on top of me?" She said, resting her head in her hand.
"Hey, come here." He soothed, pulling Lindsey into him and holding her close. "I would come with you, of course I would but Mum needs me. Us boys are the ones that have to help her with the twins seeing as their dad ain't around."
"I know and I can't take you away from your family. So if I go, we're going to have to end this, what we have or do long distance and that never works."
"Lindsey, why are you sad?" Jason asked, walking over to Lindsey and Freddie.
Lindsey looked up from where she was resting on Freddie, quickly wiping her eyes so she didn't look as upset, putting on a smile as she turned to Jason.
"Are you okay?" Robbie also asked, jumping down from the bottom of a tree trunk and walking over to Lindsey.
"I'm fine boys, me and your brother are just talking about a few things. Why don't you carrying on playing, hey?" Lindsey replied, smiling at twins who nodded and went back to what they were doing.
"You're going to have to make a decision Linds." Freddie spoke, looking at her.
"I think I know what I have to do."
Later on that evening, Lindsey had gone back to hers and Freddie had also gone with her. She was sat at the table, turning the cup in her hands as thoughts ran through her head. She knew she was making the right decision but she couldn't bear to pick up the phone and tell the hospital.
"Are you sure this is what you want to do?" Freddie asked, walking over to her and taking a seat beside her at the table.
"I'm sure." Lindsey nodded, sighing deeply. "I need to take this chance because I might never get it again."
"Then you go for it. I'll support you through whatever like I said, just make sure this is what you want okay?" He assured her
"Thankyou." She whispered before placing a kiss on his cheek, getting up and taking her phone, dialling Dee Valley.
After a very short phone call, she walked back into the kitchen and placed her phone on the side.
"They want to see me for an interview next week! I'll go down for the day and stay overnight in a hotel somewhere and then they'll tell me whether I've got the job or not." Lindsey grinned, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Linds, I'm so proud of you." Freddie said, getting up and hugging Lindsey gently. "How about I come with you for the interview? We can go stay somewhere nice and have a romantic couple of days away?"
"What, really? You really don't have to come as lovely as that sounds."
"I want to. Why don't we go look at places to stay and plan a little getaway?"
Lindsey smiled and nodded, Freddie taking her hand as the couple headed upstairs to look at places to book.
