Lindsey got herself dressed and ready for her interview, pulling on her plain black blazer over her just above the knee length black dress. She sighed nervously and brushed through her long brunette hair, pinning one side back. Freddie walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind and placing a kiss onto her cheek.
"You look beautiful and you're going to do just fine." He whispered, holding her close to him.
"You think so? I'm scared I'm going to say something wrong and lose all hope at getting this job." Lindsey replied, turning to look to the floor.
"Hey, look at me." He added, turning her around so she was facing him. "I know you and I know that they're going to love and that you are no doubt going to get this job, alright?"
"You really know how to put a smile on my face." She smiled softly, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I do love you and even if I move down here, that'll never change."
"I try my best. I love you too and I'll never stop loving you, even if you move down here and you get this job. But we better got going, don't want to be late."
Lindsey nodded, leaning up and kissing him quickly before grabbing her black bag, taking Freddie's hand as he grabbed his car keys and phone from the side and the two of them left the hotel.
Waiting outside of the office, Freddie tapped his foot against the floor as he waited for Lindsey. He sighed heavily, seeing as he'd been waiting for what felt like years. Hearing the door open, he looked up as Lindsey stepped out of the office, walking over to Freddie.
"So, how did it go?" He asked, standing up and wrapping his arm around Lindsey as the pair of them walked.
"She seemed nice, the job sounds perfect and they're going to call me within a couple days hopefully as I was their last interviewee." She responded, glancing up at him and smiling.
"I told you that you'd do just fine."
"Now it's just the anxious wait of when I'm going to get that call." She sighed quietly, walking out of the hospital.
"Well then, we may aswell go back to the hotel, get room service and a movie and make the most of not being stuck back in Essex." He said, unlocking the car and climbing in as Lindsey climbed into the passengers side.
"Sounds like a great plan to me" She replied, smiling over at him as they headed back to the hotel.
The next couple of days past quickly, Freddie and Lindsey going back to Essex in the short space of time since leaving Chester and Lindsey was anxiously awaiting the call from Dee Valley to let her know whether she had gotten the job or not and couldn't keep herself busy enough to take her mind off of it.
"What if they don't call me? What if my interview was awful and they don't like me? What if-" Lindsey said, sitting on top of the work surface as she watched Freddie, stopping suddenly as she got interrupted by him.
"Stop fretting, Linds, please! They'll call, just give them some time." Freddie said, finishing the washing up that Sandy had ordered him to do.
"But it's been ages, they probably have someone else now." She frowned.
"It won't be long, I'm sure." He chucked the tea towel on the side and walked over to Lindsey, picking her up and placing her on the floor so she wasn't sat ontop of the counter.
"I was comfy there." She said, scoffing as she crossed her arms.
"Mum will have you prosecuted if she saw you up there." He chuckled, looking down at her.
"Hiya love, I see you did what I asked for once?" Sandy spoke, stepping into the kitchen and placing some shopping bags on the side, Freddie nodding In response.
"Oh, I think this is it!" Lindsey jumped; picking up her phone as it began to ring, quickly running out of the room to answer the call.
"How's she doing?" Sandy asked Freddie as the two of them began unpacking and packing away the shopping.
"She's worrying constantly about whether they like her or not but I think she's alright. I just hope she gets this job." He sighed.
"But that means her moving away to Chester, are you okay with that?" She looked at her son intently.
"Of course I am. I want what's best for Lindsey and if she wants to move away for this job then she can do that. I love her and even if it means me having to travel down there every weekend to see her then that's what I'll do."
"She is very lucky to have you, Freddie. I always thought you'd be the first out of all my boys to settle down!"
"Calm down mum, we're not getting married!"
Lindsey took the call, hanging up after it had ended. She made her way back into the kitchen, placing her phone onto the side. Freddie and Sandy turned to look at Lindsey who was just standing on the spot.
"Well?" Freddie and Sandy said in unison.
"You're looking at the new CT1 doctor at Dee Valley hospital." Lindsey exclaimed, smiling widely.
"I knew you could do it!" Freddie said happily, walking over to her and hugging her gently.
"Well done, darling!" Sandy exclaimed, clapping quietly.
"I'm so proud of you Lindsey." Freddie whispered, pulling out of the hug and looking down at her.
"And you're okay with this?" She asked nervously, looking up at him.
"If this is what you want, then I'm fine with it. I'll support you through whatever. And hey, congratulations Doctor Butterfield."
Lindsey looked up at him and smiled widely, leaning up and hugging him tightly.
