Blinding light seeped through the now open blue curtains spreading a sheet of yellow sunlight on the sleeping figure below.
"Young master, it's time to wake up." The figure turned to the side, trying to avoiding the sudden light
"Today you'll be having Earl Grey Tea," stated the perfect butler, "Would you prefer scones or croissants?" He inquired as he elegantly poured the tea. The young noble sat and stretched.
"Scones," he replied boredly, accepting the teacup offered to him.
"Very well, for breakfast we're having a variety cut of fruits and soup with your preference of scones. Your schedule for today is at 8 o'clock you have piano lessons with Mrs. Annette, at 9 you have dance lessons with Mrs. Mary, geography lesson at 10, you have violin lessons at 10:30 and I have been sent word that Madame Red will be visiting at 4."
"The guests are to accompany me on errands," the young earl commanded, as he took another sip of his tea. He lazily looked down at his butler who was securing his socks in place.
"I will arrange it." With the last shoe neatly in place, the butler followed the earl to the dining room. After his breakfast, he proceeded into his office where silence followed him in.
How strange, he thought.
In the other rooms were the girls; each one of them changing into their day clothes. Alice wore a dark blue shirt and jacket with her pants as she continued to pound on the wooden door with her fist
"Are you up yet?" She yelled impatiently.
The door slammed open, where stood KC pissed to next dimension. Alice had interrupted her, and she was still tucking in her undershirt into her shorts, before pulling on her black shirt and gray sleeveless gray attack on titan hoodie.
"You're the one to be talking," she huffed.
"Ah! What did I do!?" Alice demanded, pure innocence in her eyes.
"I woke up at 4 IN THE MORNING! I was slamming at your door, Sebastian came, and asked me what I was doing this early in the morning. Then I had to go back to bed on my phone for three and a half more hours, and you wouldn't even answer. How nice."
"What ever, what about Imoto?" They rushed over to the neighboring door, knocking it lightly.
"Imoto!" They sang loudly. The door opened after about the eighth knock.
"Imoto, what are you doing?" KC asked curiously.
"Look I found Drake!" she exclaimed, holding a black cat at her face. KC almost immediately began to sneeze.
"What a nice cat, but where's Drake?" Alice inquired.
"Right here! Drake show them." Luna placed the cat down on the floor. A puff of smoke covered their vision; not batting an eye they stared in amazement. As the smoke began to disappear, they could easily see a feminine figure emerging. Her black hair cascaded down her shoulders, and cat like appendages swayed and twitched on her head.
The two girls stood utterly dumbfounded.
"Drake what happened to you?" They both cried.
"Do you guys remember my wish?" She asked, holding a finger out to point it out obviously. A chorus of 'oh' s resonated throughout the large room. KC was the first to approach and pet the soft black ears.
"How soft," she cooed.
Alice soon began to pet the other ear, marveling at the incredible softness.
"Wait we have to hurry, its 7:40. If I remember correctly Sebastian wakes up his master at 7." KC stated, as she taped the imaginary watch on her wrist. "You guys go get breakfast, I'm not hungry."
"What are you okay!" They cried out with worry as they began to inspect her
"I'm fine why?" KC asked, bemused.
"You're always complaining that you're hungry."
"Yeah, well I just don't get hungry during the weekends. That's all." Drake transformed back into a cat, roaming the room once again.
"Okay then."
They left the room to Drake, exploring the mansion once again.
Ciel walked down the familiar and empty corridor, heels clicking against the wooden floor to a rhythm. He abruptly stopped, catching the attention of this black butler who followed from afar. Soft piano music could be heard emitting from the room, as he quickly opened the door. Inside the atmosphere felt just as delicate as the crisp orange leaves that hung on loosely on the winter trees. He moved his blue eye across the room, looking at his teacher sitting on a chair thoroughly enjoying the sound.
Well then who on earth is playing?
Ciel approached the black grand piano, his fingers sliding across its smooth surface. To his amazement, the player was one of his guests.
"What are-" He was cut off by her next words.
"Shush," she snapped. He halted his words, and stood silently as she continued to play the last notes.
"Beautiful, just absolutely beautiful. Earl why can't you play just as nicely as this young man!" KC's mouth parted slightly to correct her on the gender switch, yet said nothing, and let her continue.
"As informally he dresses, he plays with the sound of angels!" In the corner Sebastian give a small smirk, covering it slightly with his hand "For heaven's sake Earl, he might even be younger than you." She sighed, and took a deep breath of air. "Come along then, you must practice to get just as good." She guided him to the second grand piano across the room. "After all, a proper gentleman should know this basic skill!"
Soft claps could be heard to her right, KC turned her head to the sound.
"Very nice 'sir'," They teased. KC just bowed unaffected by their statements.
"Wait, why are you guys here?" KC asked, confused.
"Bitch, we aren't trusting you to be alone," Luna stated, she honestly could not be trusted alone. All hell would break loose.
"Oh, so now you care," she sassed back, "You guys didn't even text me back I sent you. Traitors."
"Ah, were not traitors, you didn't send us anything." Alice browsed through her texts before showing it to KC. "Now you see." Sure enough, no messages were sent.
"Not messages, I meant kik. I sent you one after one and nothing."
"I didn't get anything, so I don't know what you're talking about," Luna contradicted
"What ever so what are you guys going to do?"
"Watch." Just as they said, they watched the young master struggle with each key, as they sipped at the tea Sebastian had offered them.
"Alright now all you need to do is practice the sheet, and if you have any trouble I'm sure he'll be more than willing."
The teacher had finally left thanks to Ciel's horrid 'skills'. Sebastian had led them into yet another room, this time the room was practically empty set a side the fancy bench to the side. The center was clear making the room appear far much bigger than it already was. We entered the souls of our shoes squeaking harshly. A lady who wore a pale purple dress and hair into a low bun.
"Hello there, you three must be young earl's guests," she greeted offering them her hand, KC gave her hand a firm hand shake before introductions.
"Yes we are, my name is KC, this to my right is Alice followed by-uh…"
"Luna!" she said furiously. "I can't believe you forgot my name again!"
"Well I always call you Imoto, what do you expect?" She demanded.
"My word what are you two fine ladies wearing?" She interrupted, pointing a finger at Alice and Luna.
"Oh, these are my skinny jeans and shirt." Alice lightly tugged at her clothes.
"You three are not from around here are you?" she asked skeptically.
"Yeah we're not we're from - America," she laughed nervously.
"Ah, that would explain all the clothing. Say you, and your young gentleman, where are you from, not many people around here show off a lot of skin during Autumn."
"Um, y-yea the same as them," KC stuttered not knowing how to tell the lady about her gender. Ciel came in and the teacher began to instruct him. KC was in the corner complaining that no one knew her gender.
"I'm a girl why can't no one realize?" She demanded to thin air.
"Its cause you're flat chested," Alice taunted
"And you have so much opai it's indescribable."
"Hey, well at least I'm not a cutting board!"
"At least I'm not Mount Everest."
"Savannah!"
"Alps!"
"Grand canyon!"
Their heads- now butting against one another's- an electrical shock of competitive anger could be seen due to the intensity of their taunts.
"Pardon me, but do you three know how to dance?" The teacher inquired
"I do!" KC raised her hand high in the air.
"May I see?" KC approached the center reluctantly. Ciel took his break on the bench, taking sips of fresh water.
"And, one two three-one two three, very nice ballroom dance!" The teacher praised.
"Thank you." KC bowed and took a seat with her friends, as the teacher proceeded with the small noble.
"When did you learn to dance?" Luna questioned curiously.
"Well when I was little, my mom used to put my shoes on top of hers and danced with me like that. I eventually learned like that. But, since I was so little I took the male role so now I'm stuck," she sighed mournfully.
"Cool."
"Miss Alice would you care and join the earl to dance?" The teacher asked.
"He might step on my feet though!"
"Hey!" Ciel's cries went unnoticed
"Well if its for our little Master."
"I'm not little!" He exclaimed angrily. Arching an eyebrow, she stood in front of him. She stood a proud 3 inches taller than him.
"Little," she repeated with a smirk in her voice.
"Tch, just dance," Ciel dismissed.
"One, two, three, four," the teacher chanted to a rhythm, Ciel still stepping on her shoes.
"I give," she sighed in defeat. "I can't dance, not like that."
"I'll try," said KC courageously. Everyone began to clap their hands in awe.
"Stop acting like its an accomplishment!" Ciel cried
KC extended her hand to the boy.
"Okay my little Master shall we start?" Getting into position they began, once again he stepped continually on her toes.
"Stop!" Startled by the voice in his ear, Ciel abruptly stopped. "Okay I'm going to teach you. Align your feet in front of mine so that the points are touching." Ciel reluctantly did as he was told, unquestioning her strange methods.
"Now just follow my movements," she commanded. And then they began.
"One, two, three- you missed- lets try again. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four." Their feet moved in perfect harmony; each one mimicking the others like a reversed mirror.
From where they stood KC suddenly heard Luna shout 'C. C!', yet it was ignored by her.
"Very nicely my lord," she sang, as she observed his now swift movements.
"Done," KC triumphantly stated as she left the boy. Everyone began to clap again, including Sebastian. This time Ciel didn't care, he was convinced.
"How brave of you, sis!" Alice commented, as she took her seat adjacent to her. "Never thought you had it in you!"
The teacher left promptly after the half hour. They then, once again were taken into yet another room, book shelves covered the navy blue walls that joined the wooden floor, with a desk in front of the triple faced window. Also known as the head Phantomhive's office. Three seats placed in front of the desk neatly.
"Please take a seat," Ciel commanded pleasantly as he took a seat on the chair.
Sebastian entered the room, hair back, glasses in place, book in hand. Or as Luna would put it 'Sebastian was sexy as fuck'. So hot in fact she was having the biggest fangirl moment, she was about to pass out.
"Stay with us Imoto!" Alice cried. KC grabbed her from her shoulders, and shook her violently.
"Imoto," she ordered, "Don't think about it, think of him in just his underwear, just don't think about how he looks now!" She finally gave out, and fell limp in the chair.
"KC you just made it worse!"
"What did I do?"
"Everything."
Ciel and Sebastian watched the scene in front of them, neither of them knowing what to do. Ciel gave a look at his butler. Sebastian chuckled, drawing the attention of the three girls. Sebastian cleared his throat, "Could I continue with my lessons?"
"Oh yeah, sorry- please continue." KC answered sheepishly as they recollected themselves.
Sebastian walked past them, before handing them a paper with a load questions on it. Also known as: a test. An hourglass was placed upside-down as they began.
Half way through the timer, Ciel was working hard, writing down sensibly; Alice wrote every answer swiftly, confidence in every stroke; Luna wrote with hesitation, not entirely sure of her response; and then there was KC who sleep peacefully throughout the test. Sebastian collected their paper- regardless if they were done or not. After checking them over, he passed them out once again. All answered different yet some failed, and to their surprise, the one who never listened in class, the one who never did their homework, the one who sleeps in the middle of a test, would get the highest score. They all sweat dropped at the feat.
"Hey I got them all right!" KC cheered, holding her paper up like a prize.
"I'm the second place! I only got 3 wrong!" She too showed her paper to Luna
"That means I'm in last place, I got 10 wrong."
Their eyes then shifted over to the figure in front of them. The young earl held the paper to eye level. They all made their way to the young lord looming over his shoulder to take a peek at his test. They all burst out laughing, Ciel had gotten only half a question right.
"Aw don't worry."
"We'll help you study…maybe…"
"Here, I'll help you copy mine."
Taunt after taunts were passed around until he had gotten to his last straw. Ciel grabbed KC's paper that was currently in front of him, and ripped it to shreds.
"Aw, my test! Sebastian can't you do anything about it?" KC cried. Sebastian looked at the small pieces of paper entwined in his Master's fingers.
"I'm afraid I can't," he said, bowing in apology.
"Ah well, I was kinda asking for it," she sighed, her friends chucking at her.
"Might you follow me back into the music room, it's right about time for my young master's violin lessons."
Alice's face brightened up noticeably at the word, and they followed in pursuit. Sebastian once again took them into the music room where two violins were placed in their stands.
"Let's play?" KC asked her with a shrug.
"Let's save it for last."
Alice had to go through living hell (AN: hehe pun) as the young lord played, screeching noises emitting from the instrument.
"Finally!" Alice cried happily, "Can I borrow your violin?" Ciel compiled, giving her the wooden instrument. She glanced over at KC who took her seat on the piano.
"Which one again?" KC asked, placing her hand strategically on the keys.
"You know which one."
"That one?"
"Yes that one." Pulling up a stand, Alice put the sheet music neatly in place.
"This song is called Ashita Kuru Hi," Alice informed them. And they began.
KC started off rhythmically pacing the beat softly, soon Alice joined in, a sweet tune emitting from within the instrument. Crescendoing, the melody intensified and became stronger, the bond in between the violin and piano mingled into a single beautifully soft melody. The piano played its solo; softly each key was pressed with gentleness, as strong meaning came from each feeling the listener heard. The violin and piano rejoined once again the intensity of the gentleness in the tune was soft and held much feeling. The instruments rejoiced at the final delicate stanza playing out their majestic voices.
A sudden clapping was heard from the entrance. A tall, white haired man with lavender eyes and in a completely white suit stood before them.
"How beautiful," he commented.
"What might bring you here?" Ciel asked in fake politeness.
"I was sent here by the queen," the man answered, "There have been quite a few murders earlier this morning and she wants you to investigate it. Get to the bottom of this- and fast- the Queen does not like a disturbance in the public." The man handed him the letter, and soon made his leave.
"What's it about?" The three questioned
"Sebastian get the carriage prepped," Ciel commanded, "We're going into town."
The trio began to cheer in happiness, yet it soon turned into an echo of disappointment.
"Why can't we go out like this?" Cried Alice loudly.
"The society of today does not allow people to dress like you do, women don't show that much skin." His eyes shifted to Luna then KC. "Never less to wear men's clothing." Then to Alice. "Or such tight clothing in public."
"Come to think of it Ciel does have a point, even if we are from the future we have to adapt, we can't cause a commotion in the public. Lets just wear what we need to."
"Mey-rin has brought your clothes into your room, please change quickly."
~Ten minutes later~
"NOOO!" KC's voice echoed throughout the room.
"Put it on, what happened to 'wear what we need to' huh!? Come back here!" Alice yelled.
"No way in bloody hell am I going to get into that dress!" She cried.
Alice cornered her. Reaching back, as she tried to slip her shirt off her head, KC resisted and had grabbed into her shirt preventing the lower hem to go over her head. She struggled for dear life, Alice using every ounce to fight.
There was a knock at the door.
"I'm coming in," Luna called.
"Imoto help me get this dress on her!"
"Yes!"
"I somehow have a feeling that you two are trying to kill me…"
Time and time after they tried, yet no matter what they did, she had resisted and was amazingly now hanging onto the chandelier above, hissing like a cat down at them.
"Come on sis we have to hurry!" Alice proclaimed. Luna had gotten a broom stick and was trying to forcibly take her down. Sebastian knocked at the door before entering.
"Sebastian help us put on this dress!" She pointed a finger up to her. She hissed violently at them.
"I will solve this predicament myself ladies. So please change into your attire."
The two of them left the room and closed the door with a screech.
Minutes later Sebastian came out with KC. Everyone was waiting outside. Suddenly laughter erupted from their throat.
"Haha, aww how kawaii!" Alice cried, hugging her tightly.
"Your opai is choking me," KC managed to croak.
"It doesn't matter," she dismissed as her grip began to tighten. KC went limp, before tumbling to the ground and escaping. She grabbed hold at the bottom portion of the dress before ripping it right off. Her old clothes were still in place.
"What! How did you get all your clothes under that!" The two girls cried.
"I don't know, but I did," She exhaled.
"Sebastian, please find her something else to wear; we're running behind schedule," Ciel sighed, taking his hand to his temples.
"No! Wait, I think I have something I can wear!" KC cried, it was her last opportunity. KC came rushing back in black dress pants, a white collared shirt, black vest and tie at hand.
"Better?" She turned around, showing them her clothes.
"You look like you're in Orchestra," stated Alice.
"Yeah, you do," Luna agreed.
"Fine then, it's settled- now let's go!" Ciel ordered.
They went into town by carriage. It was bumpy, and not as smooth as with a car. Yet they somehow made it.
The blood was splattered on the alley walls and floor, a body that laid upon the floor had been mutilated beyond recognition. A white sheet that covered the victims was now turning a bright vermilion color, hiding the dismembered limbs, and once healthy organs. A large group of people surrounded the area, wanting knowledge of the event that took place the night before. The Scotland yard was doing their best to prevent that from happening. Bright lights flashed, as pictures were taken of the deathly scene. Five figures and a cat approached an officer from the crowd. Passing through, they assessed the problem at hand. The three people ran over to the corpses quickly disposing of the sheets.
"Hey! Who are you, what do you think you're doing?" A man paced over to them, fist in hand. Sebastian stopped him in his tracks.
"They're with us, sir Randal," Sebastian explained.
"You again, should have known you would be here," he grumbled.
"Sir Randal, I have the information!" A young man came forth from the crowd, handing him the folder.
"Abberline, you're late," he scolded.
"Ah, sorry," he replied meekly. Ciel took the folder immediately, reading the contents quickly.
"I see, a triple homicide, interesting."
"Why you insolent brat, those are the Yard's-" He snapped. KC had approached him, putting a hand in between his ear and her mouth to whisper.
"I can't understand what you're saying," he expressed in confusion. She leaned closer whispering the same words.
"I still can't understand you."
"I said that we've gathered enough evidence and witnesses. We're ready to go," she blurted, before pacing back into the carriage.
"It's been a nice chat, Sir Randal, but I must get back to official work. Sebastian, let's go." The man fumed with anger as Ciel turned heel.
Ciel entered the carriage, and signaling the driver to start.
"So, what information did you manage to gather?" He asked.
"Well, let's see… Alice gathered ten witnesses, Drake gathered some scents from there, Imoto and I examined the corpses, it's all written down here." She gave him a paper pointing at the names written below. "Oh, and there's one more reason I for us to stay at the manor," she added.
"What might that reason be…"
"Here." She reached into her pocket, withdrawing a small bundled handkerchief. She placed it in the palm of her hand before unwrapping it. The inside was dull red, and stained with blood.
"What is that?" He pondered aloud. KC wiped off the remainder of the blood, before holding it out to him for further inspection.
"It's a LBT Tap, these are used for prepaid transportation. In the future we use these cards to pay. I found this littered on the floor near one of the victims bodies."
A silent pause followed
"We have reason to believe that this person who has committed the murders is from the future."
