Chapter 2: Sadness of the Moon ( Rewritten)

We parted ways when we arrived in the city of Tokyo, Keiko bided me her good byes and I went inside my apartment. My mother suddenly came out of nowhere and strangled me in a violent way; I was able to get away from her. Geez, since when did she become so concerned for me?

I plopped down on my bed; I stared at the ceiling in deep thought. I turned my head to the side and saw the Futon where Tsume used to sleep. My eyes softened and my head started swirling with thoughts about the one eyed freak jumping from building, I closed my eyes and took a nap.

Hours later my mom woke me up and forced me out of the bed, I groaned in annoyance and glared at her like daggers but in return she gave me a hard punch on my head.

"Gahh! What the hell mom?!" I complained with pain in my voice, she placed her hands on her waist and glared deadly at me.

"You're supposed to cook dinner yusuke! Come on just do it!" She ordered me, I frowned and stood up. I dragged myself to the stove and looked over the contents. There were some ramen noodles here and fish, well…Start cooking!

Ten Minutes later I noticed that the stove was emitting dark smoke; I yelped and ran over to our dinner. My eyes widened when I saw the fish was completely burned, I glanced side to side panicking. What the hell should I do now?!

"Yus-Yusuke?!" Mom suddenly shuddered in anger; I turned my head to see my mother's demonic expression.

SPANK!

"Ouch!" My hands automatically wet over my nape, I rolled in the ground in pain. After five minutes I regained my posture, Mom brought our burned food on the table. As I sat down on the floor mom took a bite on the burnt fish, she suddenly coughs violently and ran over to the sink, and she vomited all the burnt food.

"Well it's not my fault!" I shouted at her, she turned slowly and wiped her mouth with her right arm. She went inside the fridge and took out some rice balls, she ate vigorously.

"Hey, are you going to give me some of that?!" I asked her, she shooked her head and ate all the food.

"Nah! You eat your burnt fish!" Mom said while gobbling all the food down her throat, my stomach grumbled in hunger. When I took a bite of my fish I started choking and coughing until I ran over to the sink and vomited all the contents from my stomach.

"See yusuke? Tsume's way better than you….Speaking of Tsume…Where is he?" Mom asked with drinking her tea, I stopped vomiting for a while and turned my head at her.

"Uh…She I mean He's out there somewhere…You know? He has a job now…" he said softly at her, she grinned and started eating again. I went over the small balcony and slid the glass door open, In the dark sky I saw the Bright moon and the twinkling stars.

I slowly raised my hand and stuck my Pinky out, the promise we just mended….

Just promise me Tsume that if you need help or anything just call my name okay? No more running away, Promise?

Promise!

My lips curled into a smile, I kind of miss her you know? She's probably out there…

"Tsume…Where the heck are you?" I whispered on my breath softly…

I watched the Spirit detective in the balcony and I made sure I wasn't seen; I crouched down when he looked up in the sky. He suddenly stuck his pinky out for no reason; minutes later he went back inside and closed the sliding glass door behind him.

I stood up from the ground, the detective closed the lights and everything went dark inside his apartment.

"What makes you want to watch the Spirt detective?" I turned to see Sensui; I smiled and shook my head.

"Nothing, this young man is kind of interesting to watch. The thrill started when he shot me with his Spirit gun….Damn…If he hadn't come I would have killed her." I said while looking up in the sky, Sensui puts his hands inside his pockets.

"Why do you want to defeat this Urameshi badly?" I asked the tall man, He tilted his head and smirked lightly.

"You already know why my friend, but still. Are you willing that he'll kill me?" Sensui asked, I snorted for a second and turned my back at him.

"Why are you so sure that this boy will kill you Sensui? He'll die anyways when he faces you. He'll won't stand a chance you know." Sensui went beside me and raised his hand in the air; he spreads his hand and watched as the moon shone down brightly.

"He'll grow stronger, but remember the main plan. We are here to wipe the face of the earth and not watch he Spirit detective all the time." Sensui said while admiring the moon in the sky, I nodded my head.

But still…

This boy's interesting in every way….

He defeated demons, manage to kill Toguro and even mended a promise to my little Mujakina, I smirked and thought about what that little brat was doing right now.

"Dear friend, will you really let your little Moon flower stay at Spirit world for the rest of her life?" Sensui asked me, my expression changed. I gritted my teeth and hissed at him.

"That I will not allow! You know that King Yama was a fool! Do you really think that he'll keep her there? He's wrong; she'll be away from his grasp soon enough." I scowled at him; he closed his eyes and chuckled.

" You are such an amusing man dear friend…Keep that in mind….But still Tsume could be a threat to my plans, she have grown strong, she might fight alongside with her friends." Sensui folded his arms around his chest while watching me heave in anger, in a second I calmed down and smiled at him.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure that she'll won't be a part of their war…after all she's my precious little niece, that Masanori has plans for her and that fool of a Priest promises me my Sister…" I said under my breath.

"And what of Yuzai?" Sensui asked, I rolled my eyes when I remembered my other annoying niece but I love her.

"Yuzai will join her sister after Masanori gets what he wants from Tsume." I said while leaving the Tall man.

I'll won't let Masanori lay a hand on her either….

~ Yuzai's P.O.V. ~

I cried loudly in Bui's arms, my sister is gone forever! We just spent a short time Together and I didn't even have the chance to say goodbye to her! My tears were soaking Bui's shirt already, he soothes me and caressed my hair.

"Please Miss Yuzai…Calm down!" he shushed me; I wiped my tears and slowly looked up to him.

"But Bui! It's so not fair! Sister and I only spend a short time Together! I'll never ever be able to see her again!" I sobbed; he caressed my back and tried to calm me down. His face grew weary whenever tears fell down my face. We heard footsteps getting near, we saw Yukina with Hiruseki stones in her hands, she must have cried too.

"Y-Yukina…." I sobbed at her; she went closer and sat beside me.

"It pains me to see no Tsume around…I know you'-you're in pain…." The Ice Koorime shed a tear and t turned into a jem then it fell on her hands.

"Yuzai…Please…Don't cry….Tsume will hate to see her sister like this…." The Koorime said calming me down, I slowly stood up from the floor and ran away from them. I went my sister's room, I laid myself down on her bed, it smells just like her….

As tears drenched the covers my eyes dropped in exhaustion….

I shot up away when I heard something twinkling; I noticed something just in the other side of the room. The door was slightly open; I stood up and walked up to it slowly. I slowly slid the door open and gasped at the sight of flower.

All of them were beautiful! The Moon was very visible in the skin, all of them glowed. My fingers slowly touched the flowers and I noticed some red ones surrounding all the flowers, I went close and examined them. They were like spiders but beautiful, Sister was very persistent to plant something so beautiful…

The Bright flowers were like the color of my hair…

"Big sister….." I whispered under my breath.

"Where are you? I need you…" Tears fell down my face and it dropped on the flowers, the night grew darken and the Moon grew brighter and the Flowers did the same.

~ Genkai's P.O.V. ~

On my arms was Tsukime, Tsume's spirit beast. It was so much like her in every way. Her attitude, her feelings and even her eyes, I shed my tear hours ago when she left. I knew she'll leave when her Identity was revealed back at the Dark Tournament.

It pains me that my beloved student is actually gone…The one I've care for seven years is gone forever…She changed me in every way too, my loneliness strucked me the most when Toguro left me so he can have the power….'ve lost him when we've won again and now I've lost one again…

Tsume and Toguro is actually similar, my ex-lover's students were assassinated by Kairen. He grew mad and couldn't stop blaming himself; he rid of himself….Then Tsume….She lost her beloved Master Izayoi and the whole household because Shinji have Become mad, but this student of mine didn't end up like Toguro….She wanted to kill Shinji but she couldn't…

And they also both cared for Yusuke…Differently, Toguro wanted him to become stronger and go towards the right path while Tsume was like…..She's somehow like me…..I smiled thinking about them together…..I Know that she will be good enough for Yusuke….

My own student…My own daughter….She was my most precious….But now she's gone….And so is Toguro….My love….I'm so sorry I couldn't help you….

"I love you Toguro….." I mumbled under my breath, my heart ache for the lost of my beloved. It's really painful…I can't bare it but I know someday we'll see each other again…

"Tsume….My beloved child….." My lips quivered when I remembered her…

But it seems that precious things will have to disappear…..Even precious people….

~ Botan's P.O.V. ~

I sadly went inside the shrine where Tsume was assigned to stay; the soldiers opened the door slowly for me. As I went further my mind thought about Yusuke, I know I can't let him or anyone know, it was Tsume's orders….

When the shrine maiden unlocked the door, my head tilted to the side and curiously thought….

"Um….why is the Heir's door locked?" I asked the shrine Maiden, she gave me a cheerful smile.

"Orders…."she said then opened the door, I went inside and mumbled out Tsume's name. The room was huge only it had no windows

I gasped at the sight of Tsume; she sat on the middle with her head low. I ran over to the watcher and stuck hand out to her. She had a depressed expression; it wasn't like her at all. D-did…Koenma did this?

Tsume wasn't wearing her usual cross dress clothes; right now it was changed into a black Kimono with white sakura flowers just below the hem of the dress.

"T-Tsume! Why are you locked here?!" I asked with worry and panic in my tone, she slowly lifted and gave me a sad smile.

"He said it's protection…- would never think he'd put me in this c-cage Botan…." She said sadly, my fists tightened into fists and tears fell down my face.

Protection?! It's like he's taking away her sanity and freedom!

"That King…Tsume look, I know it's hard but….I-I'll talk to Koenma okay?" I said standing up and hurried out of the shrine. Mujakina doesn't deserve anything like this! She served under them for seven years! She was already their prisoner and I took her here, she promised that she'll watch over the lands and now this.

I took my broom and flew over to the palace; I went inside Koenma's office and stomped over to him. He lifts his head slowly in a sad way; I slammed both my hands on his table.

"Bo-"

"Why would you put her there Koenma?!" I asked him angrily, he jumped at my outrage. His face was in curiosity.

"Put her what?" He asked me, I growled and slammed my hands on his desks again.

"Oh you don't know? YOU LOCKED HER INSIDE THE SHRINE! I THOUGHT SHE CAN WALK FREELY ONLY INSIDE THE SHRINE!" I screamed at his face, his eyes grew wide and his jaw dropped but his pacifier remained inside his mouth.

"WHAT?!" He stood from his chair, the baby prince turned into his teenage form.

"Why are you suddenly surprised? You put her in there remember?!" I asked him, he was hyperventilating.

"What do you mean 'There' Botan?!" he asked me while placing his hands on both my shoulders.

He…doesn't know?

"She's locked inside her room!" I said angrily, he backed away slowly away from me.

"B-But I…I didn't order it that way!" He said to me, his expression was of horror.

"Then who ordered?! Kin-"I gasped when I came to realize that….It was the King who ordered her there!

"Why would father do this?" Koenma asked, he suddenly bolted from his office. I followed behind him the both of us ended up into the Throne room. The prince slowly opened the doors gently; King Yama sat there with his face blank.

The both of us went to the Middle and bowed respectfully.

"What is that you need my son?" He asked Prince Koenma gulped, his brows were shaking and sweat was slowly forming in his forehead.

"Father-father, why is the Heiress locked away there? I thought we made a deal that she'll run freely inside the shrine?" The Prince nervously asked his father, the King paused for a while. My Throat turned sore from my screaming.

"My son do you have no common sense? If I don't lock her there then she'll probably escape….and plus the Protection…" The King answered, his voice echoed the whole place and the walls even vibrated.

"B-But father? Sh-she doesn't deserve such act and why would she escape?!" The Prince stuttered, I closed my eye and I bit my lower teeth.

"For some reason I don't trust her son…accept the fact that she's there now. She's only a petty human, now get back to work." The King ordered, The Prince was shaking and his eyes were covered by his bangs.

"NO!" I backed away when prince Koenma shouted, The King slowly leaned forward.

"Tsume Gekko is a good man! He served us for seven years! He didn't run away from his tasks and he would never give up on all of us! He doesn't accept defeat! He won the Tournament, he saved some humans! Isn't that enough for you father?!" Koenma asked his father, the King stood up.

"You dare to talk back at me Koenma?!" The King angrily asked his son.

"Yes! I cannot bare to see a friend of mine being locked away from the world where I know she's loved by many!" Prince Koenma screamed from the top of his lungs.

"Friend? You are the prince of spirit world and she is only a mere human, she may be a daughter of a failed priestess but she's only a human…You don't need friends. Humans will just rot away anytime soon!" the King Yama said harshly, my eyes widened and the Prince was about to say another word but he was cut off by his father.

"Say another word then I'll Punish you! A hundred spankings later!" Koenma was speechless to what his father said; I slowly went to his side and dragged him out of the throne room. The Prince returned into his baby form, his eyes were still wide in depression.

"P-Prince Koenma? What are we going to do know?" I asked him, he slowly walked and I followed behind him, we were at the balcony now. The shrine was not too far, it's just in the west side of the palace.

His head was low in the ground; he parted his lips and turned to me.

"For now you'll won't tell anyone. Especially yusuke!" he barked at me, I nodded and flew away.

I hope things will be okay…

~ Tsume's P.O.v. ~

I sat here emotionlessly, it's like I've lost my will to live. This prison was too vast…

Why would they put me in here? I can't even see the sky or anything anymore….

I raised my hand and stuck my pinky out, Yusuke and I's Promise is already broken. I-If he knew where I am right now…He'll probably won't forgive me…

I've run away again…

My freedom already fled from me when….I….

I can't tolerate tears anymore! King Yama thinks this is funny?! I'll won't give him the satisfaction of seeing me in pain or sadness; I stood from the floor and went over to the door. I promise I'll return to everyone someday!

"Yusuke….I'll return and If I do then I'll...I don't know but..." I trailed off then closed my eyes and relaxed, it's going to be another boring day again.
