Chapter 5: A glimpse of freedom
~ Yuzai's P.O.V. ~
Master Genkai suddenly left with three boys without bidding any goodbyes to the three of us; all I know is that Bui is in charge of the two of us. Every day was still the same to me, I cried like a child would then the Koorime and my beloved friend would comfort me anyhow.
I know it's been days now but it's so not fair without my big sister Tsume here, I just want her back! But she….
No…
If I tell anyone about this then she'll be so furious, I never wanted any of this to happen anyway. All I wanted was her by my side until the ends of our days. Yukina right now is cooking for us, Bui said he was somehow surprised that she learned pretty fast because of the cook book that Master Genkai gave her.
"Miss Yuzai, it's time for supper." Bui called out, I glanced art him then nodded. I wiped my tears away; I slowly stood up and walked up to him with my head low. We went to the dining area then sat on the chair; all three of us ate quietly until it was finished. I immediately left the two of them and back to my bedroom.
When I sleep my dreams were the same, I see Tsume there in her cell crying and sometimes I would try to reach or call her name but she couldn't see or hear me. I hate every one of it, I hate how it's so unfair, I hate her fate and most of all I hate King Yama. Sister told me it's not Koenma or Yama's fault but I just hate that stupid king!
'Bring her back Yuzai!' That voice always tells me to bring her back but I just can't, forever I will stay here…Alone…
I fondle the pendant that I bought at the moon viewing festival, that night she disappeared without saying goodbye to any of us.
"Sister….I need you…." I whisper before taking the darkness with me, it consumed my vision and took me to the dream world.
~ Yusuke's P.O.V. ~
I deeply sighed when the gang was able to go through the thingy that Genkai made, it was a complete ass sucking pain! All of us were forced to sleep in this place then Hiei left the party, all because he asked what rank he is right now, I laid here with my hands on the back of my head thinking about this weird world domination again.
I mean, when do I even get a break? It's been a while since I had this vacation; all I want was to slip myself on a nice hot tub and play some video games that my usual place but I don't really get any break at all! I groaned annoyingly when Kuwabara's snores were getting louder and louder, I stood up then walked away from the room. I saw Genkai there watching the moon, her hands folded in her chest and her back straight like a bamboo.
"You were supposed to sleep Dimwit." She said still watching the moon glow brightly in the sky; I went beside her and join the old master watch the plate in the dark night.
"Blame the red head who was snoring loudly." I complained like a child would then she snorted, we suddenly became quiet but I broke the silence.
"Are you supposed to sleep?" I asked the aged master but she remained silent, I slumped my shoulder and stared at her waiting for the answer that I want to hear, Genkai sighed deeply and nodded her head.
"I was asleep but the night won't let me close my eyes." She said poetically with no feelings, as always….She's Genkai, she doesn't take things lightly.
Maybe the reason she couldn't sleep because she was thinking about the one eyed freak yeah…tell me about it…I almost gave up thinking about her, mom couldn't really stop rattling about Tsume. Well….Not only mom but Kuwabara and Keiko were worried about her, the same with Kurama and I don't know if Hiei really thinks about Tsume…Well everyone loves Tsume, beats me.
But anyways…
"Hey Grandma, did Tsume drop by at the temple anyhow?" I asked her, she didn't say anything but sigh.
" No, the brat didn't." She said harshly, I just shrugged my shoulders then went to where I was assigned to sleep. Kuwabara stopped snoring then I mentally cheered, I'll sleep nicely tonight.
~ The next day~
We were at Mushiyori city, it looks worse and it simply reminded me when the four saint beast tried to claim the city. I shuddered when I had a flashback about Keiko, Botan and the brunette almost died back there and it was a huge relief too.
"What do you think of the city Yusuke?" Yana asked me, I just smirked then closed my eyes.
"Looks cozy enough to sleep in, well what can I say?' I said to the blondie, he giggled until Kurama and the others decided to split up. While walking around the city we sensed a spiritual energy coming from that restaurant just down there.
"Feel that?" Master Genkai asked, I nodded but Kuwabara glanced his head from left to right.
"I don't feel anything!" the redhead said as I sighed in annoyance.
"It's because your spirit energy's gone, remember?" I asked him while smirking childishly, a vein popped on his left temple.
"Well it's not my fault it disappeared after the elder Toguro and I fought!" he shouted on my face, Master Genkai glared at us both that made us stop arguing like cats and dogs. I step down the stairs then the old hag grabbed my arm.
"Remember what I taught you about the spiritual territory?" Genkai asked, I shrugged away from her then nodded.
"I got it yeah yeah!" I said while carefully entered the place, it seems normal, there were some students and something gave a tingle that the energy's coming from the man. He was glaring at us while smirking mischievously.
"So? You guys are looking for a person who has the same power as mine eh?" We were surprised when he said that, how did he know what we were looking for? This guy got some tricks but mine's way cooler than his. The guy stood up then starting doing a fighting stance, like a boxing style. Yana stepped first.
"Let me handle this, I'll take care of this chump." He said while going forward but he ended up getting punched hard. Master Genkai ran up to the blondie then helped him up.
"He read my mind!" Kido said while grasping his already bruised cheek, reading minds huh? I took a step then gladly took over.
"Hey, I'll fight you." I said motionlessly without any care, he smirked brightly. Everyone in the room was panicking and they don't know what was going on.
I walked towards him then thought about what to do with him, he started searching in my mind and hen his smirk grew wider. I ran up to him but didn't attack, he tried to throw me a punch instead I did it first until he was thrown in the wall.
The two staff shrieked in confusion, hair gel guy went to my side then touched him. He turned into him perfectly then turned back.
"He's a mind reader, a very skilled one at that. His name is Shigero Murota." Yana said to us, I nodded as a sign of K.O. until I heard the staff mumbling words we cannot hear. Kuwabara and I took each shoulder of Murota then dragged him out of the restaurant.
~ Tsume's P.O.V. ~
My head was spinning like a carousel then my whole body hurts, I moved my finger but they wouldn't respond until I forced and commanded them to move.
I shot my eye up then slowly sat up; my whole body was so heavy. What the hell did he do to me? I looked at my surroundings then noticed that I was sitting on a king size bed; it was as if a hotel or a condo. It was a fancy style of decorations, someone went inside then it was the guy with a red leather jacket. He looked older than me and his spirit energy's very strong.
"Someone wants to see you, get up." He said as he harshly grabbed my arm then dragged me out of the room. I suddenly gasped when I saw Shinobu and Shinji there. What…
Shinji?!
Alive?!
"Hello Mujakina, did you sleep well?" Shinobu asked with a warm smile that makes my pine shudder, behind me were a child, a fat guy, a guy with the red leather jacket and a my eye widened when I saw the Elder Toguro, he snickered but I looked away from him.
"Shinji?! But I watched you die! I saw Toguro pierced you in the chest!" I shouted but he remained there smiling at me, he giggled then shook his head.
"Do you think Toguro could kill me just like that sweet little sister?" He asked me sarcastically.
"I'm not your sister!" I growled at him, Shinobu giggled then went closer to me.
"My, you've grown into a pretty woman Mujakina, your white Kimono fits you like you're a noble." I stepped away from him then gave him a threatening glare.
"What is it TSUME, why are you stepping away from me? I'm your friend." Shinobu asked me like a father would but I ignored his plea. This guy's evil, that's what master Izayoi said before she died n my arms.
"You are not Shinobu anymore, don't you dare tell me that I'm your friend. I know that you're responsible that my so-called brother there became mad!" I shouted at him, he chuckled then he touched my cheek, I felt fear tingle down my body His powers are super strong…Damn...what did he do for all his years?
He stepped away then sat back on his swivel chair, he eyed me for a while then flicked his fingers, and the fat guy took me by the arm tightly.
"You've also got stronger…Tsume, but you should know that you're a boundary to my plans. But don't worry, I'll won't kill you. You're beloved brother wants you alive and healthy. You know what to do Gourmet." Shinobu said in a weird tone.
Gourmet?
I felt pain in my nape then everything went black.
So close to freedom…
~ Later on~
I was back in the fancy bedroom again, I was glad that I wasn't tied on shackled. I slowly stood up then my hand directly went to my nape, he hit me hard and it hurts like a million bucks. I caressed it until t felt better, I went over to the windows but they were sealed with some kind of electrical fore. Then I went for the door, I already knew it was locked though.
So close to freedom….
I'm locked up again, I went for the bed then suddenly the door opened. It revealed the child and the fat guy called Gourmet.
"Hey, your brother wants you to eat something." The Kid said he sat beside me then placed the tray on the table.
"You should be lucky that Shinobu is letting you live, he won't be nice to you if he decided that you'd die. Especially to a pretty man like you." He said while patting my shoulder, I noticed that Gourmet suddenly sweat dropped.
"Uhhh…Amamura, that's a girl." He said then the kid named Amamura sweat dropped, well how charming.
Well at least I still look like a boy; it soothes my pain completely and helps me remind that I'm still Tsume Gekko. There is no turning back now, the two of them left me behind then I thought about how to get out. Shinobu's spirit energy grew strong; it will be suicide to go against him and so as Shinji, I remember back at the forest in hanging Neck Island. He tried to kill me…
~ An Hour later~
I took a shower then rubbed my hair with towel, a jumped when I saw a young man wearing a yellow rain jacket; he has blonde hair and pretty cerulean blue eyes. He looks just a year younger than me, he placed something on the bed and it was clothes but I almost sigh in relief when it was a kimono top and black Hakama pants.
"Here is your clothes sir." The young man said with a simple look, I took the clothes then went inside the bathroom; I wore them then placed the white kimono on a chair just near the tub. When I went out he was still there.
It's been thirty minutes now when he was here, is he going to stay here?
"…So…You're Shinji's little Brother…" He broke the silence then I mentally chuckled when he called me 'little brother.'
"Actually it's little sister." I corrected him; he sweat dropped then examined me up and down. He must be doubting that |I'm a girl, well thanks to Koenma's magical chest binder. (Lol)
"I'm not surprised…." The young man looked away from me then silence flew again in this room. I bit my lower lip ten thought on why would Shinobu take men with his age, talking about that kid Amanuma earlier with fatso.
"What's your name?" I asked him gently but he ignored me, I stared at him for a whole while waiting for his answer but he didn't give me his name. Well, he's giving me that silent treatment huh?
"I'm going to ask again, what is your name?" He didn't answer again until I asked him again and again until a vein popped in his temple.
"I don't want to tell my name to the likes of you!" He shouted angrily, to the likes of me? What did I ever do to him, it's not like I killed his family or something. This keeps better and better, I might squeeze some interesting information from him. I need to know what Shinobu is planning; he's the key to this small mission anyways.
"Why don't you want to?" I asked him then he glared at me like I'm some of the bullies that bullied him, his eyes were like a book. I read them closely then realized something. Maybe I was right, maybe someone hurt him a long time ago.
There's a connection too about Shinobu, t's coming closer now, just try to be smart Tsume then ask him why he's doing this.
"Then why are you here?" I asked the young man but he ignored me again.
"Do you think that Shinobu needs you here?" I asked him until he grabbed me by the collar then his face was close to mine, that's right…Just spit it out. He was annoyed but he didn't hurt me, his hands just clenched and his grip on my kimono just strong as it seems. It's fair enough now; I can see it closer just like a huge picture.
"Don't you tell me that! Mr. Sensui needs e because I'm special like the others! B-because I have the power that he can trust with, and I will see that day when he finally fulfill his wish! And I will be right beside him, so shut up!" he shouted them I shook my head and chuckled.
"What's so funny about that?! Do you doubt me?" he asked, his grip grew tighter. Stared at his eyes like a mirror then noticed that my smirk was beyond kindness, not like the others that I tease and show off.

I already miss him already, I wonder if he's doing great at school or if he's cutting classes again or even playing video games at the arcade. I felt scared when Koenma announced that he was in danger, but I know that he can handle those chumps that kidnapped him because he's strong and he is the winner of the Dark Tournament, there is nothing to doubt about yusuke but I trust that he's fine.
Now to go back to the subject that I'm here, those eyes pierced me like a needle, it was filled with hate and remorse.
"I didn't mean that, I asked why you are here. I mean why you are here in this room?" I asked him, his eyes suddenly softened then he lets me go gently and took a step back.
"So-sorry about that…I just-I just thought you're playing with me like the others who….who…Never mind…" the young man trailed off, he sat on a nearby chair then I stared at him. Others who? Maybe bullies.
"Why are you here?" I asked him the same question again and this time he didn't ran over to me or grab me by the collar harshly.
"You're asking too much." He muttered but I heard that.
"It depends on why I ask too much, it won't hurt to ask. After all I'm my brother and Shinobu's GUEST. "I said to him until he sighed deeply then lifted his head to look at my eye.
"You're hopeless huh? The reason I am here because Mr. Sensui told me to watch over you and make sure you don't make anything stupid. He went out with your brother Shinji." He said while leaning his head back, I tilted my head to smile at him, I was gentle with mercy. He has something inside of him that doesn't want me to hurt him.
He was amusing and at the same time scared.
He reminded me of him when I was with master Genkai when I was just a child, she asked too much question but I refused to answer it and instead I let the silence keep my mouth shut. Until I got annoyed then I answered every question she asked me to.
"I don't want to...tell you but…me….You leave me no choice…" he muttered again, he really is something.
"Now since you answered one of my questions, how about you tell me your name." I said to him like a mother would, he glanced at me but then he looked away.

"My name is Mitarai Kiyoshi…" I smiled at him again feeling satisfied with his name, now I guess I have to try to leak the information and chat with him.
~ Yusuke's P.O.V. ~
After a while, Murota woke up then we gave him cotton so his nose bleed will stop. Now we were at a park, watching the people pass by and children playing and running.
"You're Murota right? You can spread your territory up to 30 meters and you can hear everyone's thoughts. "I said then he nodded, Genkai was watching him closely.
"Yes, I can hear anything, as the thought goes stronger I can hear lot of things, like school's such a bum, what should I wear tomorrow and what should I cook for dinner. I can even hear the thoughts of animals too. "He muttered then I nodded to the others, they nodded back then we waited for everyone to clear out.
"Alright, we want you to hear everyone's thoughts okay? We're looking for a person whose being an ass for days now. Do it." I said then he nodded, we glanced from left to right then waited for Murota to figure out who's the culprit.
Now…just to wait

"THAT GIRL OVER THERE!" He pointed, it was a schoolgirl then we were all alarmed. How can she be the culprit? She's just a girl, but what if she's the one?! She was some girl at Sariyaski, my school.
"SHE'S GOING TO MAKE LOVE TO HER TEACHER, WE'VE GO TO STOP HER-"

Genkai and I spanked him over his head then a vein popped out on our temple in annoyance. Damn he's playing with us! If he doesn't get this right then I won't sit back and relax at home then play video games then skip school for some sweets!
"Hey get over t buddy! We're on a high situation here, just get it over it!" I shouted at his face then he lifted his hand to shield away from me. We waited again until the guy started to shudder, he wrapped his arms around his shoulders in his face was of fear.
"It-It's" he stuttered.
"It's what! Just tell us where he is and describe!" Genkai said while patting his back with comfort. The people were scattering around, they were so many of them.
"That man…Who has slick dark hair…He's wearing a long sleeve shirt….He's-" all of our eyes widened when Murota got hit by something in his forehead. He fell back then blood squirted out, he's in deep pain now.
Yana suddenly shouted for anyone to call an ambulance, I stood up then saw the man who Murota described eye to eye. He's there….
'Yusuke…Urameshi….' Heard a voice in my head, as a man passed through, he was gone. I cursed under my breath then ran over back to Murota to assist them in carrying him.
~ Tsume's P.O.V. ~
It's been minutes now when Mitarai and I talked about some stuff, he told me about his past. It was so bad until I told him mine, his eyes widened then apologized later but then as it goes by he stood up then went towards the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked him, he didn't say anything then left. A person went inside the room and revealed the fatso named Gourmet. He was carrying something on his hand, it was an injection.
"Don't worry, the doctor had this tested out, it'll won't hurt you…" Gourmet said while walking towards me, this must be my cue to leave now since Shinobu and Shinji's not here.
"Give me your arm." He ordered, I lifted my arm then punched his nose with my knuckles. He stepped back then pressed himself against the wall. I ran over to the door then went to the open window.
"GET HER!" I heard the elder Toguro screech, I jumped out of the window then into another building, free at last. I saw Amanuma and Gourmet jumped out, I cursed then ran as fast as I could. I went down with the crowd then walked just to confuse them both.
They were gaining on me again then jumped to another building; I have to fight them if I have to. I took a fighting stance then I saw them land over my back, I swept kick then Amanuma slid except for Fatso. Then I tumbled over to the side then gathered some spirit energy.
Fatso charged at me but I dodged his attack, his punch was strong but good thing that I blocked that. Amanuma joined the fight then tried to throw punches.
" Spirit BEAM CLAW!" I slashed my attack to fatso and Amanuma at the same time then they were thrown back, I jumped in the air then landed at them with a high kick. But the both of them rolled away from me.
I gasped when gourmet fired something on me, I was thrown back but I rolled and stood up. I flinched when I felt something stuck on my skin, I glanced at my shoulder then saw a needle embedded on my back.
Aww! COME ON!
It was Shinji…
Damn him!
I fell on the ground and blacked out.
