Yes I'm back and forgive me for my long absence, I was finishing some school requirements and it gave me a huge head ache. But I never stopped writing this story so don't worry.
Chapter 10: The new promise
Yusuke slowly turned away from us and faced his mortal enemy, all of us watched as they both jumped into the air then charged at each other. Our eyes were wide and jaws were dropped when they unleashed such immense power. They both flew to the air with unusual speed then a huge wave of energy exploded above the sky. The two matched in power and threw punches like there's no tomorrow.
As the two threw their fist a huge wave of energy almost thrown us away, we were all able to hold our ground then rocks came flying to us. Kurama took out his rose whip then he pulverized all of the rocks, Yuzai and I smiled at hi showing our thanks for protecting us. He did the same and nods his head.
Shinobu kicked Yusuke on the face then it was exchanged with Yusuke's fist, Shinobu was thrown aside then I saw the mischief in the spirt detective's eyes. He held his hand out then stuck out his pointer and all of us knew where this is going.
"SPIRIT GUN!" Yusuke screamed out when his huge bullet emitted from his pointer, it charged at Shinobu whose eyes were wide with fear.
"He's not going to make it! He's going to shoot him!" Kuwabara howled in joy but unfortunately Shinobu moved away then noticed that a part of his armor was broken, I frowned in disappointed then Yusuke landed on the ground sloppily.
" Shit I missed…" he muttered then stood up in the ground, the dark angel fell down then landed on his knees, he panted heavily then catched his breath for a second.
"I wonder what went wrong…." Yusuke said to himself while examining his pointer, my arms slowly wrapped around my chest then puffed out some air.
"Yusuke, stop wasting your bullets!" I scolded him with my serious tone; he glanced then gave me a death glare.
"Hey, I was doing my all there! So stop complaining!" Yusuke shouted at me, I shook my head then let my arms drop at my side, Kuwabara looked at us for a second then scratched his head.
"I think Tsume's right Urameshi, stop playing around!" Kuwabara shouted at the spirit detective who just ignored his suggestion.
"I just got to save this last bullet, just wait okay?!" Yusuke wailed at Kuwabara, Shinobu stood up then started gathering sprit energy, Yuzai and I took one step back, the wind was so strange this time as f it's going to suck our lives out, it's quite the same as Toguro's but it's not strong enough.
His armor suddenly exploded and turned into pieces, it morphed into a new armor. Koenma and Kuwabara gasped loudly but the rest of us were not surprised.
"He changed his power type!" Koenma said under his breath, Shinobu wouldn't give up easily…Damn…
"How much armor does that guy have anyway?!" Kuwabara shouted loudly, Shinobu charged at Yusuke then threw a strong punch. But the Spirit Detective dodged it but instead he punched the ground then a lot of rocks came out flying towards the sky, yusuke shielded himself in order not to get hurt.
"Shinobu's powers are extraordinary…" Yuzai said in awe, Kurama and Hiei nodded in agreement. The two powerful guys landed on a large rock then started firing at each other's fist, my fingers were shivering, it's like there's something wrong.
The both of them suddenly stopped, Yusuke smirked then glanced at us.
"Hey Puu. How about you take them up for a lift and keep them to a safe distance?" Yusuke asked the oversized penguin…Eh…Bird…Yuzai and Koenma dragged me towards Puu then made me seat first, the spirit beast took Hiei and Kuwabara on his talons while Kurama suddenly like butterfly wings.
We were lifted up in the air then watched Shinobu gained some spirit energy then charged with inhuman speed, he punched Yusuke right on the face and another one to his jaw, he was sent flying and he crashed down on a hill and all of us gasped in both horror and awe. Half of the hill was destroyed, my eye squinted for a second then sighed in relief when I saw Yusuke flew towards Shinobu and grasped each other's hands with brute force.
The energy exploded and it made us cover our eyes with our arms.
"Which one did that?!" Koenma asked us, the spirit energy was so strong that I couldn't identity who did that.
"I think both!" Kuwabara exclaimed loudly, I gasped when I noticed a lot of demons came out of nowhere then tried to enter the portal. Before that happens Yusuke punched Shinobu Square in the face then pushed him with all his might and I watched the demons trying to enter the portal fall by the sprit detective's power.
"What a relief…" I sighed out, Yuzai yelped when the demons tried to attack us. Hiei and Kurama summoned their demon energy then all of them turned to ash. I darted my eyes towards the fight then saw some D-class demons jumping towards Shinobu but he used his sprit energy and killed them with some kind of spirit laser.
' Damn…If they both take long then the human world will be infested with demons then they'll devour humans or worse….I'm also afraid that the spirit defense team might arrive then seal the demon portal's gate…I hope not….' I thought to myself, my hands clenched then I bit my lower lip to try and conceal my nervousness.
"It ends here now…It's just you and me…Actually…It's you and you and you and you and you and you and you and me…." Yusuke said sarcastically with his infamous grin, Shinobu bursted out in laughter then eyed yusuke and to me.
"You're single minded Yusuke….I like you…And I know why Mujakina has a liking to you….You're cocky and caring…But even so…You are different and cunning…" Shinobu said while glancing at us and to the spirit detective.
"Hey her name's Tsume dickhead, but that in your seven minds!" Yusuke answered back at Shinobu who released a lot of spirit energy, the spirit detective lost his guard and the black angel took the opportunity and punched Yusuke with full force, he was thrown on another rock then showered punches at him.
The whole place started to become foggy, all we heard was yusuke screaming in anger. Suddenly it stopped and the fog cleared out. All of us yelped when all we only see now is two rocks which each of them are standing.
"W-What the?! There were rocks but they're just dust and pebbles!" Kuwabara was so shocked that his face twitched in confusion. We couldn't hear what they were saying, I only saw Yusuke pointing at something and it was huge pointy mountain.
"They're moving…" Hiei grunted as we watched the two jumps towards to their destination.
"Puu, please follow them!" I ordered to the bird and he squawked loudly, heeding my command. We got closer to the both of them.
"I just can't believe that Puu turned into an oversized Chicken…' Kuwabara said lowly, I chuckled and shook my head.
"Puu is not an oversized chicken Kuwabara; he is Yusuke's reflection…That means he's re-borned into a new creature." I stated to the redhead who was still dazed and confused.
"RIGHT. But he's still an oversized chicken…" he grumbled under his breath, Puu glided in the sky gracefully and it was also relaxing as if it's a child's dream come true. I half yelled when they started punching each other and the mountain collapsed slowly in the ground.
"They're both strong! Damn!" I cursed loudly then I heard Yuzai clearing her throat, I sweat dropped and ignored her. A pillar of light appeared, both of their powers mixed into one and my eye widened when the wind around them turned into a hurricane, Puu couldn't go any closer and he's overwhelmed with yusuke's power.
"It's okay Puu; we'll just look up here…" I said while petting the bird's neck, he squawked sweetly at me and I smiled.
"Tsume's right, we'll get fried if we get too close…" Koenma informed us, the wind grew stronger and stronger until we couldn't see the both of them. Yusuke suddenly was kicked and sent flying, he was nowhere to be seen and watched the wind cleared around Shinobu.
"Come out Yusuke, there is no use hiding around him…" Shinobu taunted the great Urameshi, in a matter of seconds Yusuke appeared out of nowhere and all of us sweat dropped.
"I thought he was going to give him a surprise attack…"" Yuzai said boringly, Hiei chuckled at my sister's words then shooked his head. Shinobu laughed then talked to Yusuke some more as if they're in class. A show and tell class.
Yusuke and Shinobu released some energy buy I noticed something was wrong.
"Yusuke?!" I shouted out to snap him out of his senses but he ignored me, a huge deadly aura suddenly appeared around the spirit detective and he was screaming at the top o his lungs.

…
"Yusuke?!" I gasped out his name when I saw something different about him, his once ebony black hair turned Ivory, it was long and he even got tattoos all over his arms and chests, a grin sprawled on his face that made me shiver down my spine
"Yusuke?" I whispered under my breath, Shinobu was surprised to see the detective change
"I've been waiting for this for so long…" he's voice was even different.
"What the?! What just happened to Urameshi?! It's like he touched an electric socket!" Kuwabara exclaimed loudly, I was so speechless that my whole boy was shaking and I didn't know why.
"I don't know about something like this but his body accepted the transformation…" Kurama said softly, Shinobu's shocked face slowly formed into a grin.
"This is perfect, you are truly the descendant of the Mazoku and I couldn't feel but honor…" Shinobu laughed lowly then Yusuke tilted his head, there is something about Yusuke, it's not him…It's someone else.
"And what's so funny about that human?" yusuke asked Sensui.
"It's not him…It's not him…It's not him…" I chanted under my breath, nobody heard me. It's not really Yusuke I feel; it was demonic and monstrous, and completely horrifying. It's like I don't want to be near him.
"Well it's not funny but I feel so honored, divine and fortune smiles upon me! And fighting a feast that only appears over 40 plus generations that's no mistake…I feel so happy…And honored." Shinobu exclaimed then chuckled again.
"You should be careful when you talk about fortune Human…Your luck could run out." Yusuke no…The demon said emotionlessly then charged at Shinobu, he punched him so hard that he was able to make him bleed. All of us dropped our jaws then the demon fought Shinobu ruthlessly without any mercy, I wanted to look away but I was frozen.
After in a matter of seconds the demon held Shinobu by the neck, he was squeezing the life out of him then kicked the poor angel in the gut. He was thrown in the air and I watched as he lifted his hand and stuck out his pointer.
I knew where this is going…
"YUSUKE! STOP IT!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, his spirit gun was ready then I saw the demon struggling but he was able to shoot Yusuke's last spirit bullet. The spirit detective's ivory hair faded back to its own original color, Yusuke was back.
"OUT OF THE WAY DUMBASS!" Yusuke warned the ex-spirit detective but he just smirked then lets the spirit bullet hit him, all of us yelped as Shinobu got hit. He was pushed roughly then he ended up in the forest, destroying half of the trees. Yusuke ran towards Shinobu, I felt worried then jumped down.
"Tsume wait! Puu follow them!" I heard Koenma order the bird, I was near Yusuke. He kneeled down on the ground, Shinobu was bruised and bleeding everywhere.
"WAKE UP SHINOBU! COME ONE! WAKE UP! WAKE UP YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH! IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO OPEN YOUR EYES THEN I'LL DRAG YOU UP TOWARDS SPIRIRT WORLD MYSELF! WAKE UP!" Yusuke shook the unconscious Sensui, I grabbed yusuke's hand to stop him and he did. He lowered him down the ground slowly and I checked Shinobu's pulse if there's a sign of life. I couldn't feel anything and I felt so sorry to Shinobu, even though he tried to kill people he wanted to make the world a better place…But…we had to stop him…
"Shinobu…please wake up…" I whispered slowly, I glanced at yusuke and he was heaving slowly.
"Urameshi! What are you talking about?! You wanted him dead in the first place!" Kuwabara and the others arrived; they were shocked why Yusuke warned Shinobu.
"Yusuke never wanted to kill Shinobu Kuwabara…" I said softly towards him.
"What do you mean?! Urameshi wanted to kill the punk from the start Tsume, when he found out you were kidnapped by shinji and Shinobu he wanted to kill them both! PUT THAT IN YOUR HEAD!" Kuwabara shouted at me, I flinched then watched Yuzai hit his nape.
"Stop shouting at my sister you redhead!" Yuzai shouted at him, Yusuke glanced at all of us then back to Sensui.
"I didn't kill Sensui I didn't! I swear!" yusuke was shouting hysterically at us, I placed my hand on his shoulder to calm him down and it was slowly working.
"What? But we saw you, you did it Urameshi!" Kuwabara said, the great detective shooked his head and snapped out of his hysterical mode and I was glad I was able to calm him down.
"Look it wasn't me okay?! It was my body but It wasn't me in there!" Yusuke said to everyone, he looked at me with pleading eyes and I slowly lowered my head. My hands slowly went to his chest then a bright light emitted from my hand, Shinobu shot up and coughed out blood.
"You did it! He just need some boost! Tsume, show us what you've got!" Yusuke said happily, I nodded with a smile until something pushed me with brute force, I opened my eye then realized that I was falling down the sky.
"Tsume!" Yusuke shouted he jumped in the air and caught me with his arms; we landed on the ground and saw Itsuki appear. I thanked Yusuke and he lowered me on the ground just near Shinobu.
"Just let him be Yusuke, Tsume…he doesn't want it…" Itsuki said while getting out of his own portal, Yusuke and I glanced at each other and back to the gate keeper.
"What- Wait, it's the other guy who pulled the trigger and not me! Even though how evil a person is I will not kill him! Tsume, you need to heal him!" Yusuke ordered me, I stretched my hand towards Shinobu but Itsuki went towards me with blinding speed and caught my wrist, it wasn't painful or anything. He was soft hearted, Itsuki was so kind towards anybody, and he is just…He wanted Shinobu to be happy…
"Just don't Tsume…Shinobu have amount to live anyway" he said grasping it tighter, all of us gasped in horror and confusion when he just said that. I slowly lifted my head and stared at his eye, he was telling the truth...
"Shinobu had a rare disease the even Dr. Kamiya couldn't cure it…." Itsuki said while staring at me.
"Are you telling us a joke or something?!" Yusuke asked angrily, he shooked his head then stared at the corpse of the former spirit detective.
"No…he's telling the truth…Yusuke…" All of our heads darted at him, we watched him as he spoke weakly.
"You have proved to me that your powers are stronger than mine…" Shinobu said as Yusuke grunted then took a hold of his collar.
"Yusuke-"
"Look it wasn't me okay?! It wasn't me! Look, we'll let Tsume heal you up okay?! Tsume just get on with it already!" Yusuke shouted, I tried to get away from Itsuki's grasps and I succeeded, I placed my hands then concentrated healing him but nothing happened.
"What's wrong?!" Yusuke asked me hysterically, my eye was full of sadness but I didn't stop healing him.
"Yusuke. There's something wrong, it's like he won't let me…" I said to him, Shinobu slapped my hands away from him and Yusuke gritted his teeth and clenched his hands in frustration.
"Koenma do something please!"
"I can't, I lost a lot of energy…again…he is the author of his fate…" Koenma said while closing his eyes. Shinobu smirked then eyed us one by one including Itsuki. Hiei suddenly yawned then fell asleep then Puu snatched him before he fell on the ground, he placed him at his back slowly.
"Koenma…D-Did you…Did you use it to the Game master? Amanuma?" I asked the prince and he nodded, I frowned then looked away from him.
"W-Wait…So you wasted all of your power to save that brat kid?" Yusuke asked the prince again, Koenma nodded. I sighed deeply then I heard Shinobu laugh heartily.
"What's so funny?"
" I planned it all along, I needed you to drain your energy…You were all riddled with my plans and I know that your guilt will sprawl over your heart to me…It was the only way I can give way to my plans herein demon world" Shinobu said while laughing, what?
"Shinobu…You…all of this…You planned on opening the portal and…Killing people just to-to get to demon world…Shi-Shinobu…why?" Koenma asked the former detective who was dying.
"Because it's home…its home to the apparitions that I've been taking lives since I was just a little boy…" Shinobu said with a peaceful smile.
" I watched the humans we've swore to protect was far more evil than the monsters 've been killing…My world turned upside-down…I learned that A demon should kill me so I can pay for my sins until I saw you Yusuke…..I can now sleep…Peacefully…." Shinobu smiled at the prince and I saw tears slowly emitted in Koenma's eyes but held them all back.
" Tsume…You are far more different from your brother, your powers have a hidden beauty in it that makes…makes Shinji mad…he loved his sister Yuzuki very much and he thinks that you reminded him of your beautiful mother….It was also my fault Shinji turned to be the most wanted murderer…But. Then…Shinji still has that light….You just don't see it Tsume…." Shinobu said while smiling at me, his hand slowly crept towards mine and grasped it tightly.
" you've really grown into a fine young woman Tsume, I still remember you as a child, so pure of innocence and budding like a flower…But…Then you were tainted that day when shinji killed Izayoi and everyone in the household…You were like me….But you didn't go straight to that path you've desired….You listened to your master…If she didn't tell you to kill Shinji…You would've ended up like me…I want you to use that power well and make sure you follow that path you want…What fate upholds you….Urameshi…" Yusuke looks at him with a glint of happiness in his eyes.
"You are really the justice that I've always…Crave for…You will make great things, you can change the world….Someday when you are in my position you will figure it out…But until then…Thank you…..Urameshi…Thank you…." Shinobu said as he draws his last breath, his head fell on his side then he was gone.
I slowly trailed my hands on his cheek then went over his eyes to close them…Forever…Everyone held sadness in their hearts and mine ache as if I lost a family member.
"I'll take you back myself!" Koenma said but Itsuki went closer.
"I will not let you take him!" he warned us.
"Don't you see? He's at peace now…he died with something we've wanted…he sacrificed all of his years to gain what we desired….He conquered all his seven personalities and turned into Shinobu again…the Shinobu I've always wanted…." Itsuki said as he shone brighter, he took a step back then his portal appeared again, he lifted Shinobu with his powers and into his arms.
"Where are you tak-taking him?" I asked Itsuki, he smiled then they went further inside the portal.
"At peace where he is not disturbed, we will live peacefully in the void where nothing will disturb us…Forever…" Itsuki said as they both disappeared in the darkness; it was his final goodbye to us…
" …."
"Damn...Why do I feel he won?" Yusuke asked himself.
"Well he did win Yusuke….You may have defeated him but he got what he desired…" Yuzai said while putting her arms to her back, Kurama nodded in agreement them Kuwabara went close to the Great Spirit detective.
"Umm…Do you feel any different Yusuke?" The redhead asked as yusuke scratched his back.
"Yeah, I feel something itching my back…I-What the?!" yusuke tugged his long hair then examined all of the tattoos marked on his body.
"W-WHAT THE?! IT'S LIKE I PLAYED MY FINGER WITH AN ELECTRIC SOCKET!" Yusuke said while tugging all his hair with both of his hand.
"That's what I've said…" Kuwabara said while snorting, I sweat dropped then looked away from Koenma, I stood up from the ground and patted the dust of my butt and walked at yusuke's side.
"Keiko's not going to like this!" yusuke complained with teary eyes.
"Yeah with all of that hair and tattoos, she might think you joined a metal rock band." I sarcastically said to him, Koenma went near yusuke and examined him closely. He scratched his chin with his pointer then something popped in his mind.
"Well…Like what my sister said, you can already join a rock band yusuke…." Yuzai said happily; all of us sweat dropped at her suggestion.
"You…Kind of remind me of that demon. King….Raizen…" Koenma said while scratching his chin, all of us darted our heads back
"Raizen huh? So that's the guy who made me his marionette…"
"I noticed, I was trying to identify if that your energy earlier but I know it wasn't you…" I noted him; he slowly looked at me then lifted his head up at the sky.
"I woke up….When I used my spirit gun…" yusuke aid while pointing his spirit gun at Kuwabara.
"Hey watch where you're pointing that! You almost killed me earlier you know?!" Kuwabara shouted at Yusuke, my hand went to his wrist then lowered it down.
"Come on let's find him!" Yusuke said as we all gasped and my brows rose up.
"Yusuke…You can't mean…" I muttered under my breath.
"But we just finished saving the world, can we just take a nap or something?!" Kuwabara asked furiously, Koenma took a step forward then cleared his throat.
"Yusuke, staying here will be a huge responsibility…Did you know while we're gone at the human world the Special Defense force has been trying to close the portal? Staying here means staying here forever." Kuwabara started to freak out, yusuke turned away from us then heard him chuckle.
"I made my decision, hey Puu! Let's load up okay?" Yusuke asked happily, Kuwabara sighed in relief, Kurama smiled gently. Yuzai suddenly hugged me from behind and I smiled at her.
Slowly my head turned up then watched as the clouds move in the clear sky, I felt something's bad going to happen and I don't know why. Why do I feel this uneasiness? I felt someone poking my shoulder then I tilted my head to see Yusuke smirking at me.
"Hey, I said it's time to go home…" Yusuke said as he stretched his hand out to me, I smiled at him then nodded. I took his hand and we flew back to the human world.
~ Later on~
We were able to get out of the cave, the sun was already up and we all saw everyone waiting for us. Botan gasped then jumped in the air, but all of them frowned when they saw yusuke.
"Um…Who's the rock star?" Botan asked Yana but he just shrugged his shoulders, keiko smiled brightly and ran up to us with tears on her eyes.
"Yusuke! Tsume! Your back! You're safe!" She hugged us tightly in her arms and we embraced her back, she snugged on my chest then pulled away from us.
"I'm glad you're okay Tsume, everyone was so worried about you…" The tears slipped down Keiko's cheek, I wiped them away and smiled bright at her. Botan cheered loudly, she jumped over to us but Yusuke and I moved aside. She landed on her face but Keiko help her stand up.
"Yusuke…Tsume….I'm so happy! I'm so happy that you guys are safe!" Botan sobbed loudly, I couldn't bring myself seeing her cry so I hugged her tightly in my arms, Yusuke rolled his eyes then headed towards the group.
All of us were about to leave we heard footsteps from the cave; all of us turned our heads and saw the Special defense force.
I grunted when I saw that old man, he angrily glared at Koenma then growled.,
"Prince Koenma! You know Spirit world won't over look this treason…" The leader said to the prince who took a step forward.
"What treason?!"
"Letting that Mazoku demon go back in the human world, you don't know what kind of trouble you've brought here in the human world Koenma. You will take responsibility and come with us, and Tsume Gekko…." The leader darted his head to me.
"You are under arrest!" All of us gasped then Koenma and Yuzai shielded me from the Leader, Yusuke's eyes were wide.
"W-What do you mean?! She didn't do anything wrong!" the redhead shouted, Hiei grunted in his sleep. My fists clenched then remembered what I said to King Yama. Yeah…I'm in big trouble…
"Ms. Gekko here disobeyed King Yama's orders and bad mouthed the King, she deserves to be punished!" The leader slowly went towards Koenma and Yuzai but Yusuke.
"Don't take Tsume away, I am responsible for everything!" Koenma said angrily to the special defense force, I bit my lower lip then gasped when yusuke pushed Koenma at my side, he growled at them then spat loudly.
"You stupid fool! To think you can hide on those uniforms and feel that you're superior?! Pathetic! You guys are more nothing but thrash, you push people around because you think you are higher, well listen well! I'm going punch you all square on the face if you lay a finger on them! Whoever wants to protest will go through me!" Yusuke warned them, Koenma and I glanced at each other.
"Yeah! Me too! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Koenma is the prince of the Spirit world and Tsume is the Heiress of the Tsukiko Household! You have no power over them!" Yuzai shouted at them, the special defense force gulped and took a step back, Yusuke puts a hand on Yuzai's shoulder, my sister smirked at him then the both of them took a fighting stance. The leader gulped in fear then accepted the defeat, I suddenly wondered where Shinji went but it doesn't matter…Yusuke is alive…
"Fine, go do what you want but listen to this….This isn't over!" The leader said then they all disappeared one by one. We all smiled at each other until Yuzai took the moonstone then gasped when we noticed that it wasn't glowing anymore like it was before.
"S-sister? Did you….What happen?!" She asked me, I didn't know what to do until Koenma said he'll take a research about. I was so worried…But the good news is…I can take it off now.
~Later on~
Everyone went back to their respectful homes, so did Yusuke. I was planning on heading back with Genkai and Yuzai but Yusuke begged me to stay at his apartment. When he closed the door behind him he suddenly slapped me hard on the face.
"You stupid Bitch!" Yusuke screamed at my face, I didn't react or anything. I just stood there emotionlessly, the truth is that I deserved it…I broke our promise because I ran away…
"I deserved that Yusuke…" I whispered, he turned away from me then didn't say anything. I broke the silence by kicking his back, he shrieked loudly.
"You deserve that too Yusuke…You broke our promise…" I uttered at him, his face was puzzled, I rolled my eyes then helped him up on his feet.
"What promise?" he asked me curiously; again I rolled my eyes the turned away from the spirit detective. My hands clenched then closed my eye.
"Remember the promise we made before you were about to fight Toguro?" I asked him, his stopped for a second and then his face turned pale.
" That makes two of us…Yusuke…We break our promises…You promised me before that you'd live….But you died….Your heart was not beating…You made me scared you stupid asshole…" I growled at him, I felt his hand on my shoulder; I tilted my head then saw yusuke smiling at me.
"Hey, I'm alive okay? There's nothing to be afraid about it anymore…." Yusuke assured me that everything was okay; I sighed out deeply then smiled at him, accepting his comfort. After resting for hours I tied his hair into a pony tail and we went straight to Kuwabara's house, Shizuru cuts Yusuke hair short like it was before then we took off all of his tattoos, of course Kurama arrived then disposed of Yusuke's demon hair to make sure it'll won't harm anymore.
~ Days later~
Days later, the three students that Genkai taught disappeared; Yuzai went back to Genkai's temple 2 days ago. Yusuke said that I should stay at his new apartment longer which I gladly took the offer. I was cleaning the whole place and everything seemed fine that time.
Kuwabara and the others would visit and would tease me that I could make a great wife someday, after cleaning I cooked some meals and placed it at the table. Yusuke should be home in no time, Botan bought me women clothes which I hated. I still wore my usual hoodie and those baggy pants; I wiped the sweat away from my forehead then sat down on the sofa.
"It feels peaceful…." I muttered under my breath, I watched as the sky grew darker and I felt worried, but I just threw that thought away, yusuke is just okay…He's strong after all. The door opened then I saw Yusuke holding a piece of paper, I smiled at him then offered a seat.
"Yusuke, you're back….Here I cooked some food for….You….Yusuke? Is something wrong?" I asked him, his eyes were covered by his bangs; he slowly lifted his head then smiled at me.
"Thanks for the food…man…I'm hungry, let's eat…." Yusuke sat on the chair, I prepared the table and we ate in silence, I watched him munched his food, he wasn't like this, usually he would choke down on his food and ask for more…Right now…he seems so dull..
"Yusuke what's that on your hand?" he threw it at me and I caught it, I slowly unfolded the paper then read it slowly…
"Koroko Sanada…The first spirit detective? Yusuke, what do you want to do?" I asked him, he just kept silent again. We slept peacefully that night and when I woke up in the morning he wasn't here anymore, maybe…he's at school...
He forgot his bento, maybe I should go to his school. I took a long shower, brushed my teeth, ate my breakfast. IU went to my closet then saw the dresses that Botan bought for me, and then glanced at my hoodies and baggy pants. I hesitated to grab the dresses but I scowled, I took a new eye patch then slowly wore it around me then covered my empty eye, I wore a red hoodie and back pants.
I took his bento Box then went out of the apartment; I arrived at his school then saw Keiko with her friends. I suddenly saw…
Natsuko….
Her face famed up then ran towards me, she raised her hand and slapped me hard on my face. Every one gasped then Keiko ran to my side and touch my redden cheek. ( damn I feel so sorry for Tsume for being slapped all the time…)
" You son of a- Why are you even here?! Get away from me! I don't want to see your face!" Natsuko shouted aloud as any woman can when their boyfriends cheated on them, a lot of teachers and students caught her attention, Keiko and I sweat dropped then I whispered her to tell her everything about the truth.
After telling my story Natsuko blushed in embarrassment and apologized for slapping me, Keiko dragged us away.
"Keiko…Is Yusuke here? He forgot his Bento...I was worried that he won't able to eat lunch…" I asked her softly, she rolled her eyes then her arms crossed her chest.
" I'm sorry Tsume…he's not here….He's absent a you can see, I was supposed to go to after school but it seems that he disappeared…" Keiko informed me; I shrugged my shoulders then left Sariyaski. Kuwabara didn't know where Yusuke went either, I went o the park then watched as the children played with their parents.
I wonder where he is….The last thing we talked about last night was about Koroko Sanada…Wait…I instantly stood up then ran towards the train, I knew her but never met her. When it was my third year at Genkai's home she told me about spirit detectives and mentioned Koroko being the first detective. She retired because she wanted to start a family of her own.
I looked out of the window and noticed that the sun was setting, I wondered how he is right now and I hope he'll won't cause any trouble. I shuddered the idea of Koroko beating Yusuke's ass but I just ignored it and waited to my destination.
I arrived at the place and it was already night time, I tracked spirit energy then felt demons around. Stronger demons, I felt nervous. The energy was like the demon that possessed yusuke days ago….
It was getting closer until I heard faint noises; I figure out that one of them was Yusuke and some three bald head guys.
" I have a question…"
"What is it?"
"I want to know why you guys eat humans…" I decided to stop for a second and listen what's going on, I hid on a tree with the bento tightly clasped on both of my hands
"What? Need a minute to answer my question?" yusuke asked but the bald head smirked then lifted his head up.
"Well nice, you have done good work…"
"Every time I fought a demon I never forgot the stench on your mouth when you got close to me, it was rotting flesh… knew it was a human flesh." Yusuke said while closing his eyes, I bit my lower lip then clenched my hand tighter on the bento box.
"I don't know what you're planning Hokushin but you're a LIAR SO STAND ON YOUR GROUND!" I heard Yusuke scream at him, there was a smacking sound that seems to be he punched someone.
"That was me taking it easy…I'll decide to kill you when you are done with your story…"
"Impressive…I lost my focus…..I was just thinking if you'd trust us…"
"hey, I' not some kind of vegetarian here, I get it food is food and you think humans are food to you…Like I said, I am no vegetarians but I know people who are and I watch as they flinched whenever someone is eating a burger in front of them…But it's how you guys survive, you needed to eat people and it's the only way for you guys to survive…Like I do…I don't see anything wrong there, we have a couple of bad guys…So why not eat them?" Yusuke said as I gritted my teeth, I dropped the bento suddenly and all of the contents were sprawled on the floor. Something is happening there and I don't like it.
"We are loyal to our king; we won't eat any humans…Whether good or bad…" Hokushin said as Yusuke smirked.
" Your King stopped eating humans for no reason and you guys also stopped, that's loyalty…All I'm saying is I'm trying to get to you guys so I can know if I can trust you…..Now we've learned a valuable lesson about telling the truth, you get everything I just said?" Yusuke asked the three bald head guys.
"You are like our King Raizen…In actions and in words…"
"Hey, don't him my father…" yusuke was heading this way, I was about to leave but I heard the bald head named Hokushin say something that made yusuke smirk.
"Why do you guys want these two guys dead so bad?" Yusuke asked curiously. Hokushin said something I didn't hear then they all disappeared. I felt anger rising on my chest then I stepped away from the tree, yusuke was stunned and I made my way towards him.
"I heard everything you've said…" I said to him angrily, he just looked away from me.
"It's not what you think Tsume-"
"The hell it is! Ever since you started becoming a demon you've changed! Yusuke….It's like you don't know yourself anymore…." I growled at him, everything became silent, his eyes were piercing mine then he tried to walk over to me but I stepped away.
"What's wrong with you? There's nothing wrong to what I just said!" He said but I try to fight the urge to beat him up, I turned away from him and bit my inner lip.
"You said that food is food right? You told them that we humans are just food to be devoured to the likes of you….." I growled deeply, he stood going towards me then I heard him gulp.
"That's how life is Tsume, we need to survive…"
"So I'm food yusuke? Is that it? Are you going to eat humans like they do? I was a watcher…I'm an ex-watcher now…But I strive to keep the peace…And I still do, You lay a hand on these humans Yusuke…Good or bad…I'll won't hesitate to kill you…." I warned him in my soft tone, Yusuke watched as I left him.
"I'm not going home to your apartment….I'm going to back to master Genkai's shrine…remember my words Yusuke…." Deep inside I didn't mean it, those words I just said to him…But I couldn't bring myself to what he said earlier to those demons.
I didn't go home that night; I stayed at master Genkai's Temple where I slept lazily.
I heard Yusuke arrived just now but I didn't care, but deep inside I did care…I still really do…I stood up from my bed then went to my moon flower garden, all of them were beautifully glowing in the moonlight, the moonstone on my neck still didn't glow for days now. It was kind of mysterious but I just tried to imagine that it's still working.
The door slid open, I saw yusuke standing there with a bag pack on his back, and it seems he's going to…LEAVE…
"Tsume…Listen…just listen…I know you are mad at me but listen…" he said while going towards me, I sighed then turned away from him.
"I have ears…I'm listening…" I said sarcastically, he gulped a bit then shook his head to throw the nervousness away.
"I'm leaving human world…."
My world shattered, he's not going to come back? I fought the tears away until I felt his arms wrap around my waist and his head rested on my shoulder, I gasped then we stayed in this position for a while.
"I'm going to miss you Tsume…But don't worry….I'll be back for three years…." He whispered on my ear, I felt my cheeks becoming hot and my heart was beating faster. I don't know why I'm feeling this emotion….It is just like the thing that Keiko told me….Love….
My lip was quivering but no tears fell down my cheeks, I turned around then faced him.
"Yusuke…"
"Hey…Promise me one this…That if I come back after three years I'll ask you out on a date…." He said while smiling at me, he held out his Pinky but I shooked my head, he was puzzled when I took off my moonstone around my neck, I took his hand then placed it there.
"I'm sick of those pinky swears so….This….So our promise won't break…We've been breaking our promises but I know this time it'll won't because you'll have a reminder of our promise…" I said smiling at him, he looked at my eyes then he wore the moonstone around his neck, he took my hand then pulled me to another embrace.
"I'll leave something for you too…" He whispered on my ear, he slowly pulled away. He pushed all the hair away from my face and then his hands cup each of my cheeks. He leans towards me then his lips were pressed against mine.
I gasped loudly; it was my first kiss…
He slowly parts away from e laughs when he saw my face all red, our fingers interlocked. I pulled him to another embrace and this time it felt so different, my head was against his chest the his chin rested on my scalp. I wanted to stay like this with him forever but he slowly pushed me away.
"I'll come back for you I promise…" I said as I folded my arms on my chest.
"Don't expect me to dance, I don't know how to dance Yusuke…"I said to him, he laughed then shook his head.
"Don't worry…I'll teach you and remember our promise Tsume….I'll ask you out…" he said to me, he waved his hand goodbye then left me all alone. My heart was still beating fast and happiness was full inside me, I never felt so happy for all of these years…
" Yusuke…I promise…."
