I know it happened a while ago but I haven't put up a new chapter since then so, here's to you Leonard Nimoy. Rest in Peace. You Lived Long, and may you Prosper in whatever comes after this life.

"Hello?"

"Hey, I know it's like, three in the morning but it's even earlier here and I had a question-"

"Who is this?"

"...Um, wrong number I think?"

"No wait, are you one of Leonard's friends?"

"Yeah...I'm assuming this is his girlfriend?"

"Mhmm. He'll call you at a reasonable hour, okay? Goodnight, Jim. I assume it's Jim from what I've heard of you and Spock, night night."

Kirk put his communicator down.

"...huh."

"He called at What time?"

"Three-oh-three in the morning." She said. "god know what about."

"I'll call him during lunch today." Bones told Jocelyn while he pulled on his shirt. "Are we still on for tomorrow tonight?"

"As far as I'm aware." She finished pinning up her hair. "I need to go to class-I'll see you later."

He kissed her goodbye. "...Jo!"

Jocelyn turned and looked at him. "Yeah, Leonard?"

"...Have a great day."

She smiled. "Thanks. I love you too." and she left.

"Jim!" Kirk turned and saw Chekov running toward him.

"Hey, you need something?" he asked.

"Um, maybe." he said. "It's kind of um...There's this gir-"

Kirk put up a hand and then an arm around Chekov's shoulders. "let's talk." He told the younger man, leading him down the hall. "what's her name?"

"Helen."

"Helen. good name. what's she like?"

"Um, she's a history major?"

"That's it? that's all you know?"

"Well not like you much about the people you go after." Chekov huffed. Kirk was about to disagree but then paused. The younger man was kind of entirely correct.

"Well, maybe in the past but I haven't done that in a while."

"You did it last week." Chekov countered. "James, Please I just want advice on how to get this girl to maybe, I don't know...talk to me? Like me?"

"Just...I don't know." Kirk admitted. "Just talk to her, be charming...or cute. I don't know." Chekov sighed.

"...Okay. thanks anyway, Jim." the younger cadet hurried off

KNOCK KNOCK

Spock opened his dorm room door and let Kirk in.

"Spock am I a flirt?"

"Yes. Why did you call Leonard at three in the morning?" Kirk sat down on the bed, Spock sat at his desk.

"How do you know I did that-is being a flirt bad?"

"He sent me a communique complaining about it. and I wouldn't know."

"I'll apologize to him later-He didn't even answer. His girlfriend did. And yes you would."

Spock decided to stop trying to carry on two conversations as it surely would become confusing for the human he was conversing with and it seemed more logical and straightforward to only carry one topic of discussion at once.

"On the subject of Leonard is there a reason you're...disgruntled over the fact that his partner answered you instead of him?"

"Yes!" He said. "What's she doing answering his messages? Honestly-We've never even met-"

"James. Enough." Spock said. "Are you willing to take some advice?"

"What are y-"

"Are you willing to take and follow some advice?" Spock said, more forcefully. Jim sighed.

"yes."

"Alright then. Bone's relationship is none of you business. unless something in it appears to be directly mentally or physically hurting him we have no right to object. secondly, yes, you are a flirt. if you consider it a bad thing then train yourself to be more aware of your actions. Is all of that entirely clear?"

"...yes." Jim said after thinking a moment. "...Hey Spock? You know your whole not-really-a-marriage thing with that Vulcan girl? T'Pring?"

"Yes?"

"If you could easily cut it off, would you?"

"No." Spock immediately said. Jim and and-for once in his life-accepted the answer.

But after Kirk left the question would be enough to keep Spock thinking on the subject for a long time, and led him to contemplate one of his own.

If it were up solely to me who I could spend my life with, who would I choose?

"What?" Jocelyn said. "You're leaving?"

Irt had been two weeks since the call from Jim and n that two weeks Bones had come to a conclusion about this school.

"Well, Yes. Look. I hate it here-you're literally the only thing i like here. I forgot how some people get about aliens and starfleet and I can't deal with it."

"So end of semester it's back off to starfleet to be practically military for you." Jocelyn said, crossing her arms. "Fine. It's your education-your life. But what about us?"

"If you still want to be together we'll make it work-I still want to be with you." Bones said, gently taking her hands in his. "Because I love us-I love you."

"I lovee you too, Leonard." She smiled at him, but then offered him an intense look. "But don't you forget to call. and visit."

"I won't, don't worry."

"Oh no, I'll worry. it means I care." Jocelyn told him and kissed McCoy. He readily kissed back, holding her close.

"OPEN YOUR WINDOW, SPOCK! I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!" Kirk shouted out his window after trying to get his attention by throwing a shoe and then a notebook.

Spock finally opened his window, leaning out a bit to talk to Kirk. "If this is about Leonard's choice to return to The Academy next semester I am aware-he sent a communique to me as well."

"Still though it's awesome." Kirk said, clearly excited by the prospect of his friend returning.

"I'm inclined to agree although perhaps less extremely."

Jim grinned brightly. "Well, I can't wait-also I needed that shoe i threw so talk later." he shut his window and ran downstairs to fetch his things.
