Sorry for the wait, enjoy!

"There you are!" Bones said as he came into the library. "I've been looking all over for you!"

"I apologize I was una-" Spock began, looking up from his book. Bones cut him off.

"Not you, your 'study partner'. Christine I need your half of the notes from our lab experiment and we have to work on the report."

Christine looked confused. "that's not due until next Friday..."

"Christine. It's due the 22nd. that's this Friday."

"Oh!" she quickly got up. "Spock, sorry I have to work on this-I though I had more time! I'll see you soon?"

Spock nodded, ignoring the questioning look from Bones before Christine and Bones left together.

One their way out of the Library Christine and Bones passed by one of the Vulcan exchange students.

"Leonard McCoy?" She stopped them. "My name is T'Pring. I'm in your Evolution Theory Class."

"Uh, yeah I've seen you." Bones said I have no clue how you know my name but I've seen you. He thought.

"Given th courses focus on Earth based evolutionary patterns I was wondering if you could direct me to some good resource material on the subject?"

Bones scoffed. "Barely. I'm almost failing that course-I took it for extra credit though so I might drop it and take Advanced Latin next semester."

"Wait, do you take that course from Professor Ostenheimer?" Christine asked. T'Pring nodded "Because I'm not in his class but Spock is-he must just be in a different hour than you."

"...you know I think I remember him mentioning that. You should ask him, he's over there." Bones nodded towards where Spock was sitting.

"Thank you. I will." T'Pring said and walked away.

Bones furrowed his brow briefly but left with Christine.

If I didn't know better I could've sworn she smirked at me before walking away...

Spock noticed the person standing near him when they approached. He didn't look up though, knowing if they really needed his attention they would speak to him.

"Spock I require your assistance." he looked up, not recognizing the voice.

But he recognized who it belonged to.

"...with what?" he asked, trying to keep his voice even. "I'm sure the library staff can help you with far more ease than I can. Now if you'll excuse me-"

"-I apologize. I insulted your intelligence in thinking that would work. I needed an excuse to speak to you that would seem logical to anyone who might question." T'Pring sat down by Spock.

"Why do you need to speak to me?" Spock said. he stayed calm but his thoughts raced. What would his father think if he knew he was speaking to-why did that matter?

"Because I fail to see the logic in avoiding you when we are in such close proximity to each other and have nothing to lose from interacting."

"and nothing to gain by breaking the tradition of not interacting." Spock looked back to his book.

"I believe that's incorrect. We both have quite a bit to gain." T'Pring countered. "How can it be illogical to know the person you're married to before you're expected to live with them? It will make both our lives easier when that time comes. And the interaction with other Vulcans must be something you have missed."

"Missing something is rather emotional."

"Vulcans are emotional beings-same as most of the sentient beings of the known universe. We simply have finer control and reasoning skills." T'Pring said. "A fact that probably very few here understand-the same as they misunderstand most of Vulcan history and culture."

"...that is correct." Spock said, thinking about the number of times he had corrected other students and even teachers on their knowledge of Vulcan. and how many times he had allowed himself to be simply shocked-although onyl internally-at how ignorant humans were of Vulcan despite Vulcans being their First Contact.

"...What is is you want to know?" Spock finally said.

"I want to know my husband so I can live in peace with him and with ease in my future. Tell me about your experience here. What are you working on?" she nodded to his books.

"This is for my history course. It's on Earth history and I''m writing a paper on The Native American people. they're quite similar to the Chuik tribe from-" Spock droned on for a while but T'Pring listened. Eventually Spock's talking turned into a conversation between the pair. one that wore it's way on for hours before they were told they had to leave as the library was closing.

Spock walked T'Pring to her room and thanked her for the intellectual discussion before leaving to walk about to his apartment.

"Where have you been?" asked T'Pring's roommate, T'Pesh.

"At the library. I had research to do." T'Pring said before going to shower.

And that was all the pair said that night. They had no reason to talk. They weren't friends. They weren't anything but roommates.

"I am your roommate! We literally live together-I buy your food! You have to tell me!" Kirk told Spock.

"I reimburse you for groceries."

"Well yeah...but that wasn't the point! Spock, we're friends! You said you aren't supposed to talk to her but you just spent hours with her!" Kirk sat on the Kitchen counter.

"I still don't get why you aren't allowed to know your own wife. And get off the counter, Jim! We eat on there!" Bones said.

"You eat on a plate on here. It's not like your food ever actually touches it. And my pants are clean." Kirk said. "but what did you two talk about?" he asked Spock.

"...Many Things. mainly about ourselves. I know her much better now."

"and? What do you think?"

"...She is satisfactory."

"That's it!?" Bones said. "You're married to her!"

"and that is satisfactory. It's late. goodnight." Spock went to his room, leaving Kirk and Bones to ponder the situation.

He checked his computer before his nightly routine. he saw he had a message.

From Christine.

Are you free tomorrow night? There's going to be fireworks and I thought you might want to see them. you mentioned you never have a while ago.

Spock was about to reply and tell her yes when another message came

One from T'Pring.

Greetings. I require some assistance in classwork and would appreciate studying with you and having another discussion. Are you Available tomorrow night? -T'Pring.

Spock simply stared at his screen for a while before responding first to Christine.

Apologies for the delay. I am unable to accompany you. my apologies. -Spock.

Then to T'Pring

Where do you think would be best to meet?
