Prologue
"Teiko,"
A girl suddenly mumbled as she caressed a small white cat. The cat purred and snuggled on her hand, making the girl smile softly.
Teiko.
The word itself was mysterious. Was it a name of a person she dearly loved? Or was it something she held into dearly?
She closed her eyes and sighed. It was hopeless, she thought. Whenever she tries to remember, she becomes frustrated and angry like she was hurt and beaten. But yet, she knew she loved Teiko so she can never bring herself to hate it. All she remembers was spring.
Spring where there was a glistening rainbow, highlighting the whole garden as if it was wonderland.
She yearns to remember those memories. There was a little hope igniting inside her heart, telling her that she will soon.
"Teiko," Fuuka Haruyuki softly called the snow white cat, "help me remember, okay?"
The cat responded a soft purr, and jumped into her lap making Fuuka giggle.
"Fuuka-chan," a motherly voice called out to her, "dinner's ready."
"In a minute!" she replied, patting Teiko's head before walking downstairs.
She sat down at the table and stared at the woman in front of her.
Her luscious brown hair was pulled into a messy bun and her blue eyes looked tired and dead beat. Fuuka immediately felt down and guilty, she felt like a heavy burden being placed on her aunt's arms.
Coincidentally, her aunt noticed her while she set their dinner on the table. The hot pot was steaming and there were tempuras, teriyakis and rice balls with it. "Fuuka," Her aunt gently smiled and gave her a worried look, "what's wrong sweetie?"
She shook her head and stared at her hands that were place on her lap, "Nothing, I just feel scared. Tomorrow's my first day at school and I feel like I won't make any friends." She lied. Fuuka had no intention of having friends, she thought they were a bother. But she needed to make a conversation with her aunt to keep her from worrying.
"Ahh," Her aunt smiled in relief, "don't worry. Seirin has a lot of good students there. I heard that the basketball team there won the Winter Cup last year despite only having first years and second years."
"That's impressive." Fuuka commented and the two began to eat dinner and chat.
Seirin was another thing Fuuka was worried about. She felt like something was waiting for her once she starts off.
