Set after "The Last Stand of Dead Men" with a few changes. Valkyrie is in danger, but will Skulduggery save her in time? And what are these rumours about the return of an old enemy? Contains spoilers of the whole series. Rated T because I'm not sure where this is going. This is my first time writing, so please read and review-constructive criticism welcome. I hope you like it :)

16. Chapter 16

Hi guys, I know this update is super short so I will be updating again on Sunday (at the latest).

I should probably also just note that seeing as Kenspeckle never died, in my version of events Nye has never worked for the sanctuary, and has probably spent the last few years doing indescribable, nasty things...

Chapter 16

The man with the green eyes smiled. Plan B seemed to be working. He walked along the corridor, a glint in his emerald eyes.

Nye was still hard at work in its laboratory. The phial containing Valkyrie's blood was hooked to the centre of his machine. The man with the green eyes recalled how long it had taken to obtain a pure sample from the blood soaked rope which had been used to tie Valkyrie to the chair she had sat on whilst he tortured her. But Nye had done it. So now, as the motor of the machine whirred and blood trickled slowly through tubes, the man with the green eyes smiled his smug smile and and raised his phone to his ear.

"We're ready. You can launch the next stage of our plan Tanith."

His smile turned into a sneer.

"We're finally ready."

So I know that was disappointingly short but it had to be added. I'll update as soon as I can, the next chapter is finished so it shouldn't be long. Also, thanks for anyone who reviewed with ideas about The Unnamed, please keep the thoughts and suggestions coming :)
