Vlad was pleased with himself. Skulkers news had been welcome after time spent stagnantly trying to brew up a plan. Now he had the little boy strung up bleeding his life away. If Daniel was refusing to be his son than he would make one of his own. Another halfa. He thought his plan was brilliant and Sam made the perfect candidate.

The poor boy so broken and lonely. All he wanted was to be accepted and have some semblance of a normal life where he didn't have to spend all his time worrying about the monsters that lived under his bed. Well now that wouldn't be a problem, Vlad would make him into the monster under the bed, the skeleton in the closet. He would finally have a child to shape in his own image.

The thought delighted him made a grin spread acrossed his face as he went to check on the boy. Sam was lying limp on the steel and for a moment Vlad thought he may have killed him for real but upon closer examination the shallow but steady rise and fall of his chest set his fears away. Sam was fine for now, the ectoplasm slowly replacing his blood would take care of him. All he needed was for Daniel to fly in like the hero he was and get caught in his web. Letting Vlad's machines replicate the energy signatures that had created him. This plan was flawless all Vlad had to do was wait and soon, so very soon, Vlad counted on it, Daniel was never one to disappoint especially when Vlad had something he wanted.

That was another thing, this pathetically adorable little tryst the two boys had going on. Of course Vlad had promised that they could live together forever but he knew that wasn't true. Daniel would try to help, try and fix the boy and that would drive poor Sam away right back to Vlad. He knew it would. Sam was neck deep in emotional malease and it made him oh so perfect for this. Sam needed a father and Vlad was more than happy to fill the ever growing void in that young mans heart. He would be a master piece.

Vlad grinned as he looked around consulting the clock on one of the many computer screens strewn about the lab. Daniel sure was taking his time in getting there, he would have thought that a youngster so hopelessly in love would be a little quicker in coming to his damsels rescue. Shrugging he leaned against the counter and waited. He could wait, what else did he have to do. Riffling through his pockets he pulled out his phone to check the latest football scores and pass some time.

Sam didn't know if he was alive or dead, everything seemed to be in ridiculous technocolour that made his eyes hurt. Like the glow filter in photoshop everything was distorted and strange. He tried to ask what was happening but he couldn't make his voice work. It felt think and heavy like trying to move his tongue was just too much effort and eventually he gave up. His eyes fluttered closed again where the strange light wouldn't hurt his eyes not that it helped a lot. The visions seemed burned into the back of his eye lids. Breathing was harder now he felt as though he were trying to breath gelatin. Funny he had always thought swimming in a pool of jello would have been fun, he had never taken this into account.

He tried to remember that this was for Danny, so that they could be together forever. Plasmius said that they would be together forever. If he had had the energy to smile he would have. Just the mere thought of Danny was enough to make him want to endure this, not that there was really any going back now. A long breath pressed passed his lips and suddenly he couldn't make his chest rise again. The feeling of drowning increased tenfold as he tried in vain to make the muscles bring in air. It wasn't working and no one was coming to help him. He tried to call out to Plasmius but his mouth didn't work and he couldn't move to even flag him that something was wrong.

Everything was fading out and he finally realized that this was it, this was the end of the line. He had trust a villain and now he was going to pay the price. He wouldn't get to see Danny again or his father or Dean. No one. He would be luck if they ever even found his body. He couldn't believe he had been so stupid. If he had been able to cry he would have but the tears just wouldn't come as everything started to fog out.

Just as he was slipping down, down, down into the eternal abyss there was a flash of light that seared past his closed eyes, lit up every nerve end with electrical pain. At first he his mouth jarred open and no sound came but as the second wave or pure torture washed through him making his back arch off the table and a muddled scream tear past his lips. His nerves felt like they were frying, zips of power coursing though him, he was being twisted, burnt, remade, from the inside out. He felt like he had drain cleaner running though his veins and he was longing now for the feeling of drowning, the feeling of dying. Because this wasn't dying, this was the opposite. This was having life thrust down his throat so hard he couldn't breathe.

He wanted it to stop, he wanted it to stop so badly it was the only thought running through his mind before everything went black, the currents still running through his body.

Danny had arrived crashing through defense systems like there was no tomorrow, which for him there wouldn't be if Sam wasn't there to share it with him. It caught him by surprise, the web of netting that ensnared him as soon as he was in the lab. Ghost proof it tangled him up and quicker than lightning one of Vlad's clones was on him tossing him into a little box (ghost proof as well of course). Danny was furious. Through the holes in the box he could see Sam laying limp as a rag doll on a metal slab, tethered down with the IV's running from him. He let out a scream of absolute feral rage.

Vlad's laugh greeted his ears and Danny hissed turning to peek through the other holes to see him.

"Vlad you are one seriously crazed up fruitloop. Let me out of here. Your plan has gone to far." Danny hissed glaring up at Vlad's leering expression.

"I don't think so my dear boy you see…Sam here is my new son. Since you were so resistant to my offers I found someone who would be more willing. All I need is a little bit of you to help speed up the process. After all ghost portal accidents don't happen every day now do they." Vlad lilted absolutely delighted his plan was working out.

Danny could feel his blood run cold as he kicked at the sides of the box screaming and shouting. Vlad was going to kill Sam and take him away from him. He was going to hurt him. Call it ghost instincts or just plain human rage but Danny couldn't think beyond getting out of that box. The bolts of electricity took him by complete surprise halting his fights as his body went rigid. His jaw clamped shut and he couldn't scream but he could hear the resounding sound of Sam screaming in the air. Even through the pain that felt like it was splitting every cell of his apart he found his heart breaking. This was it, it was over and he had lost, he was supposed to be the hero here. Hero's are supposed to win.

Tears tracked down his cheeks as the currents continued to travel through him, Sam's screams still coming from outside the box and tearing Danny to pieces. It seemed like forever before there was nothing but the strong ringing in his ears. There was no other sound. It took him a while before he came back to his senses. His body was sore and singed in some places but he would heal, he would be fine. Peeking through the holes again he saw Sam, his chest rapidly rising and falling though his eyes were still closed. At least he was alive. That was all Danny could think.

Vlad was by his side pulling out IV's checking him over making notes in his computer. He was like a mad scientist wanting to know if his newest experiment was going to be fruitful. He wanted Sam to wake up to see if the transformation would happen. Sam didn't wake up and there was the sound of splintering wood.

"You fucken ghost bastard give me back my boy!" John Winchesters voice rang through the cold lab followed by a shot gun blast that barely missed Vlad.

This was the toughest choice Vlad had made in a long time. He wanted to keep Sam all to himself but on the other hand his crazy family was here and the last time he had tangled with the Winchesters he had almost died for real. They were serious business, no just getting sent back to the ghost zone. Quickly he decided that he would cut his losses for now. Sam would still come back to him. He would feel out of place in the human world, history would repeat its self. His plan would still work. Vlad turned tail and ran disappearing into the night and putting distance between himself and the hunters.

Danny reverted to his human form and called for Dean, "Dean? Dean? Can…can you get me out?"

Dean was by the box in half a second while John was rushing over to Sam. He opened the box from the outside and lifted Danny out.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked the rather beat up looking boy.

"Not really but we gotta check on Sam." Danny said limping to Sam's side.

Sam was still unconscious and Dean untied him, picking his little brother up bridal style.

"C'mon dad, sammy needs to get home…" Dean said softly looking down at his brother.

A quick inspection revealed that he was in no serious danger, he was breathing, he wasn't to harmed. If anything he looked perfectly fine except for a few burn wounds here and there.

They got back to the impala and Dean put Sam in the back seat instructing Danny to make sure he was okay.

Sitting beside Sam was hard. Danny was almost vibrating with nervousness. The drive back was long and almost painful. Nothing happened. He answered a few questions. No he didn't know why Sam and him had been kidnapped by the ghost. No he didn't know what happened to Sam. But that was all.

John dropped him off at his house and he swallowed thickly watching them drive away with his unconscious boyfriend in the back seat.

Back at the Motel Dean carried Sam back inside and lay him in bed, and tucking him in.

"You're okay now Sammy, I'm sorry Sammy…." He mumbled turning off the lights and posting watch beside his little brother.

"I'll look out for you."

John was watching the door, both men on high alert in case Plasmius were to try and return and take Sam.

The night passed without even though. Danny tried to get in once after he had talked to Jazz and reassured her that everything was okay. The Winchester guard had made it impossible to get in the motel room. He would try again in the morning.
