Even now, we're still unsure... (Team Purity's logo flashes on the screen, and Deus' masked faces appear)
What the future holds! (Gray's final team flashes by)
Be fast, grab your dreams and run (Trentavious, Savannah, and Marcus appear with their starters, and they smirk at Gray while Trent glares)
Look back, make sure to have fun (Gray, Chase, and another person sit underneath a tree with their Pokemon while laughing)
Remember now, don't look back, Stay calm and give it a crack... (Gray and her Pokemon stand on a hill with Chase, Audino, and another person)
Pokemon!
Hey, all! Time for another update, and this one will be very short as it focuses on Tara and Team Purity! Last chapter, Chase and Gray stopped at the Day Care Center and met a boy named Troy and his Zangoose. After learning Troy had released his Trapinch because it was too weak, Gray challenged him to a battle and won, though it didn't do much of anything to help the Trapinch, who left before Gray could say anything to it. Now, let's get going!
Defender31415: Technically, she was under leveled when she evolved, but whenever that happens, it's usually because they will win the battle and evolve because of that. I've done that a few times with several of Owen's other Pokemon, so it's not like this was an anomaly
Shion Rasenka: That's the exact same way I felt about him until I realized that Flygon was his final stage. And Tara will eventually try joining Gray and Chase, but she won't tell them who she is from the start. Instead, she'll reveal after a chapter or two of spending time with them
Blaze Falcon: Well... Fortis will be really bad at first and Gray will kind of throw him in battles against a weakened opponent to help him level up. But don't worry, he'll start to get really strong either at the end of this arc, or during the Celadon arc
ShadowDragon9000: I'm a spur of the moment kind of guy XD A few reasons I had her evolve were because 1) I didn't want Durus to seem like Pikachu 2) I normally don't like writing about four legged Pokemon as opposed to bipedal battlers, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Plus, she would've ended up being really weak (compared to the others) as a Meowth. And Fortis will definitely be a great addition in the future
guest: She'll try to, but Tara would have to tell them about her past, which she will. It's a matter of whether Gray and Chase can get past the fact that she was a member of Team Purity
MCMXCV: I like that idea. I think he could show up at the league as a spectator of sorts. And I can confirm that Fortis will evolve into Flygon (theme song), and will be an absolute beast once he reaches that. And this chapter's pretty short, so there won't be too much going on

Tara continued running deep into the woods south of Cerulean City before finally stopping when her legs could no longer keep going. Now exhausted, the sixteen year old fell against a tree and released her only Pokemon, a Scyther, who looked at her with a kind smile before a confused expression made its way across his face. Slowly, the Pokemon sat down next to his trainer and remained silent along with her until Tara decided to speak up.
"I messed up, Scyther. I got Zypher caught, and Deus is going to kill me for it. Literally!" the girl shouted while looking into the eyes of her lone Pokemon, who looked terrified upon hearing the information. "Maybe we should just run and hope he doesn't catch us."
"Do you have any money?" the bug type quizzed. Tara shook her head in depression before her face fell into her hands, and she began to bawl. "Hey, don't worry. Nothing bad's gonna happen to us. All we have to do is keep a low profile, make some friends, and we're golden! Then, once we get enough money saved up, we can go somewhere else!" Scyther stated in an attempt to cheer his trainer up. Slowly, the girl lifted her head from her hands and looked at her Pokemon, sniffling as her nose began to run.
"Why would anyone want to have us around? I'm a criminal, and..." Tara stopped speaking and began crying once again, putting her head in her hands for a second time. Scyther looked on, not knowing what to do, before crossing his arms and thinking of a plan that could lead to easy success.
"Well, they don't have to know you're a criminal, and we both know you don't have the heart to really be one. Remember back in Pewter City when Rory was battling those two kids? Neither of us had the heart to do anything to them. We were just putting on a show!" Again, Tara stopped crying and lifted her head out of her hands with a small smile on her face before she leaned over and hugged her Pokemon.
"You're right. And I think I know just who we're going to travel with," Tara said with a smile before pushing herself onto her feet. Scyther smiled and nodded before following his trainer through the woods, and they began their voyage to Vermilion City.

"Deus, one of them made it out, but the other was caught by the police after battling a few trainers!" a man in silver armor screamed as he barged into his leader's chamber. The masked person motioned for the man to continue talking, so he did. "Zypher was turned into the police along with his Bisharp, while Tara managed to get away. She hasn't contacted headquarters, however." Deus quickly rose from his chair and began pacing back and forth, thinking of what could've possibly gone wrong.
"According to Zypher, Tara accidentally took a picture of Cerulean Cave with the light on as someone walked by. He also wanted to let you know he'd be breaking out of jail soon, and that he was waiting for the right time to do so." With that, the man kneeled before Deus and walked out of the room in a hurry, not wanting to be around for the leader's outburst. As soon as the doors to the room closed, Deus switched the laughing mask to the crying one before stomping around the room in a blind rage.
"That wench! I knew we should've killed her before she screwed up anymore, but nooo... apparently she had a lot of potential and the making of a great admin!" Deus screamed to no one before dropping to both knees and punching the ground angrily. "Why? No... how did she mess up again!?"
"Maybe because she wasn't ready for the role yet," a much calmer voice answered, causing Deus to rise before looking around angrily.
"No, you imbecile! I told you she was useless, and guess what? She is!" Deus shrieked before bringing his two hands up to his face and screaming in rage. "I've said all along that I should handle business, and you messed it up! Now I have to go fix your mistakes!" The room was silent for a few seconds, and Deus took a deep breath before turning his mask back around to the laughing face. He then started to walk out of his small room ad made a turn down a narrow, dim lighted hallway.
"Deus, have you heard of the news?" a man in shining silver armor quizzed nervously. The leader stopped dead in his tracks before twitching slightly, and he turned to face the much smaller man while switching the laughing mask back to the crying face. Without warning, Deus thrusted his arm forward after grabbing his enormous dagger, and he stepped the man in the forehead. He then pulled the dagger out and put it back on his belt before walking away as if nothing had happened. As he did so, a soft voice began ringing in his ears, which made the masked person's eyes twitch.
"You're sick, and no one will miss you when you're caught. Mom was wrong, you are a mistake."
The words continued to vibrate in Deus' ears and the leader of Team Purity punched a whole in the wall on the right before continuing towards the main meeting room, where all of the admins were.
"We should've let you burn in the fire."
Now enraged, Deus raised his leg up before kicking the door to the meeting room down, making everyone inside jump in terror. Seeing the mask their leader was wearing, no one spoke a word and they sat down at the large table. Quickly, the enraged person stood at the head of the table and looked around at all of the high-ranking officials.
"We're taking action now, people! Scientists, you better finish that goddamn Pokemon Purifying! If you don't have it done by the end of the month, I'll personally kill all of you! As for the rest of you, start packing your things and get ready for the takeover!" With that, everyone dispersed out of the room, leaving Durus all alone, though the soothing voice continued to whisper in his ear.
"We should've let you burn in the fire."
Well, Tara's going to be in deep stuff if Deus ever finds her, probably. Speaking of Deus, he/she made a complete 180 and is now really pissed off while some weird voice is talking to him/her. Anyways, it's pretty obvious Tara will be looking for Gray and Chase and attempt to join them, which may or may not go over well. Till next time, peace out.
Next Chapter: "Flirting With History": After arriving in Vermilion City, Gray and Chase run into a few familiar faces, one of which happens to be Owen. Later on in the evening, Gray decides to spend some time with the Kalos champion, much to Chase's dismay. How will Chase handle Gray's decision?
