Innocence

Part 3

A/N: Hi all. Thank you for continuing to support my work. This is a very, very short update. I am in radiation now; I have 27 days left with that. I hope to continue to write updates now that I have moved on from chemo, no matter how small.

Best wishes and thank you again.

Rehellams

The summer months wore on as both Jane and Maura were put through their paces on mending both physically and mentally. There were times that the only sound from their face chat was mutual sighs of relief as they had conquered another week of self healing. Gone were the self conscience bits of personal information, for both women had found the friend and confidant they had always silently longed for.

Maura still held her silence on the one thing that even in therapy she refused to address. No, she knew better than to bring some horrors to light, because not all monsters were vanquished in the light of a dawning day or fell dead upon a great hero's gleaming sword. Some beasts lurk and live in the recesses of the mind and life forever.

August brought new life into both women. Jane was finished with her physical therapy and was looking forward to the psyche eval coming up. Being back on the force was what she needed and longed for. The dark haired detective was also was counting down the days till she could see Maura again. While she waited Jane made sure to have little things on hand in her home that would make her friend feel welcomed. From the panda poop tea to the good bottle of wine that set her back a few hundred dollars. It was worth it though; she had a feeling that Maura Isles was the one she had been waiting for. Now that the day had come for Maura to come home, Jane had happiness flowing through her like never before.

Maura, even though she enjoyed her rented beach bungalow, she looked forward to getting back to her home. When she chose to seek out professional help, the heiress thought it prudent to seek that help outside her normal stomping grounds. It just would not do for an Isles to be seen going into a therapist's office by some rag reporter.

Overall, the experience with was cathartic. Maura in the end decided not to divulge the darkest part of her that made up her baser needs. No, she may have suffered, but due to circumstances beyond her control she had no choice but to carry on in silence.

One thing she held onto and treasured was her friendship with Detective Rizzoli. She jealously guarded her friend and the friendship that they now shared. The teacher knew if it were discovered, her family would make sure it ended by pulling enough strings both personally and politically to pressure Jane to forget about her or be ruined. It certainly had happened before.

Maura looked around the bungalow once more to insure she had packed everything. She picked up her cell phone and sent Jane a message that she was now leaving. Gathering her bags, she headed for the door and stepped out into a brand new day that filled her with the hope of being in Jane's arms soon.
