Chapter 3: Soul-Dragons
The Dragon Raid ended before dawn and the surviving dragons carried everything they had managed to steal all the while supporting their injured fellows. The Vikings of Berk were left to clean up the village, rebuild, take stock of what they had lost and how much of it they had left, count and mourn their dead and heal their injured. As the sun rose over the horizon, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava felt an increasing urge to go looking for their Soul-Dragons and so they waited for the right time to leave. When they reunited after the battle, bearing soot stains, cuts, scratches and slight bruises and burns, Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid leaned into each other, wrapping their arms and wings around their Soul-Mates as they did after every time they were separated from them. Their Soul-Bond did not allow them to be separated for long without drawing them back together if it was strained. Even after two months, their Soul-Bond was taking time to settle so they often slept in each other's beds. Their families knew and understood, letting them do it as long as they did get up to any 'funny business'. Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid blushed and hugged their parents, thanking them for being so kind and understanding. Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid were already to love each other, often gazing at their Soul-Mates, touching them, hugging them and talking over their Soul-Bond for longer than necessary. Their families knew the signs of young, true love when they saw them and Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava were already flourishing in their love for each other. They had not even shared their first kisses yet but were content to let their relationship grow on its own.
Before long, they had to split up again to help their families clean up. Aniu returned to her family's home built close to the Chief's House where Hiccup and Stoick. Her family's home was a lovely, two-story Viking home with elements of their Elf-Fae culture mixed in to create a wonderful Elf-Fae/ Viking home. "Hey, Mum. How are you?" Aniu asked. "I am doing well, sweetheart." Namara replied. She wasnow eight months pregnant and feeling the affects, suffering swollen feet, a sore back, stiff wings and constant tiredness, hunger, mood swings and cravings. Fengo, ever the dutiful, loving husband, did everything he could to relieve Namara's aches and burdens when ever he could, often massaging her body, cooking Namara her favourite meals, helping her bathe and dress and sating her needs, which had greatly increased because of her pregnancy. Aniu thanked the gods Fengo and Namara had warded their room against any sounds escaping and locked the door whenever in the throes of intimacy for her and Arin's sake. Aniu relished in her and her brother's parents loving each other so much but she did not want to catch them anything she was not supposed to see, hear or smell even though Namara had given her 'the talk' when Aniu began getting her periods and going through puberty. Aniu and Arin could not wait for their sibling to be born. As much as Aniu and Arin loved each other, they could really get on each other's nerves.
Caruso flew in after Aniu and Namara stroke his head feathers. Fengo and Arin came down the stairs and Arin walked over to Aniu to give her a hug while Fengo kissed Namara, ruffled Aniu's hair and began to cook breakfast for his family. Edme was waiting outside as she was too big to be in the house. As they ate, Caruso flew out to hunt for his own breakfast and Aniu felt the urge leading her to her Soul-Dragon grow more impatient. "Are you all right, Ni?" Arin asked. "I am fine but my bond to Heatwave is getting impatient. I can sense it wants me to go to him as soon as possible." Aniu said. "Well, best not keep him waiting." Fengo said. "Imagine you as a Dragon Soul-Rider." Namara said, sipping her tea. That was when Aniu sensed Nava, Hiccup and Astrid getting ready to meet their Soul-Dragons. "Nava, Astrid and Hiccup are getting ready to go now. I best get going. Caruso and Edme said they would meet me along the way." She said. "I wish we could be there with you guys." Arin said. "Heatwave will be another addition to this family soon." Namara said. "Imagine considering a dragon a second son." Fengo said. Aniu finished her breakfast, stood up and collected her daggers, battle sticks and Phoenix Tears, checking her Necklace was still on her neck. "I do not know how long we will be there but I will be back as soon as I can." She said. "May the blessings of Sunheela be with you, Aniu. " Fengo, Namara and Arin said, smiling reassuringly at her. Aniu smiled, walked out of the house and closed the door behind her.
Knowing where Nava, Astrid and Hiccup would be waiting because of their Soul-Bond, Aniu walked over to the pathway leading into the forest. Sure enough, her Soul-Mates were waiting at the egd eof the forest for her. "Let's go and may the blessings of Sunheela be with us." Aniu said. Nava, Astrid and Hiccup nodded and the four Soul-Mates began their trek into the forest. They were uncertain of what would happen but excitement, joy, eagerness and hope bloomed in their hearts, minds and souls. They knew that what would happen that day would change everything.
"Do you think they will come?" A white dragoness asked the Night Fury in front of her. "Yes. I sense their presences moving closer to us." The black male dragon replied. "They will arrive here with their Familiars." A yellow dragon said. "Our Bonding to our Soul-Riders will change everything." A blue Deadly Nadder said. The Night Fury's siblings were lying nearby as were the Deadly Nadder's siblings and a pair of Skrills. "Be patient. They will be here soon." The eldest Night Fury male said. "Before we know it, you and them will be Bonded." The second youngest of the litter of Night Fury siblings, a female, added. "Once you guys are Bonded, it is only a matter of time before Evregina is dead and we are free." The second female said. She was the youngest of the litter. "Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane are scouting the area." The male Skrill said. "We do not want anyone interrupting this sacred moment afterall." His sister said. That was when a Griffin, a Phoenix, an Alicorn and a Hippogriff flew into the Cove and landed close to the 12 dragons. "They are coming." The Griffin said, golden eyes gleaming with excitement and joy.
Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid walked where the pulls told them to walk. They could sense the presences of their Soul-Dragons drawing closer and closer as well the presences of their Familiars. Sure enough, Edme, Artemis, Sprinter and Akira walked over to them. Caruso, Zena, Sorena and Stryker landed on a tree branch above them. Evidence of fresh hunts were on the the Dire Wolves, Barn Owls and Golden Eagles. The two Reindeer bore signs of grazing fresh grass, herbs and shrubs. "It seems we caught up to you four in just in time." Edme said. "We took the time to scout out for any signs of those dragons but it appears we were not looking in the right place." Artemis said. "However, we caught signs of dragons and four other magical creatures that have been hunting nearby." Sprinter said. "Continue on and we will follow you four to every corner of the world." Akira added.
Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid nodded and continued walking. Caruso, Zena, Sorena and Stryker flew back into the sky to continue scouting. Edme and Artemis moved on ahead, keeping their noses close to the ground to sniff out any scents that would them to their destination. Sprinter and Akira walked to the left and right of the four Soul-Mates. Aniu and Nava had flown over as much of Berk as they could but they had only explored a part of the village so the forest was unknown, new territory to them. Berk truly was a beautiful island, full of forests, towering cliffs, pristine beaches, meadows, valleys, mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and caves. In its own way, Berk was a true, northern paradise just as Elf-Fae Island was despite being further south. Aniu and Nava missed their old home but they knew Berk was their new home and they already cherished it. If Berk was that beautiful despite suffering raids from dragons, it would be even more stunning and beautiful.
A Monarch Butterfly fluttered down to them and hovered above Aniu who giggled and held up a finger for the Butterfly to perch on. It stared up at Aniu's emerald green eyes with startingly golden eyes which was shocking because Monarch Buttferlies usually had tiny, beady, black eyes. "Hello. Are you not a beautiful butterfly?" Aniu murmured, admiring the brown and black markings on the the butterfly's wings as it stared up at her face. Nava, Astrid and Hiccup leaned in closer for a better look. It turned away from Aniu to look up at their faces before fluttering its wings and flying above them. "I think it wants us to follow it." Hiccup said.
"I believe you are right but we could use a little light." Aniu said and held up her hand. A small fire bloomed in her palm, providing enough heat and light for the four of them. The butterfly fluttered around the fire as close as it dared to get and Aniu gasped in surprise when she sensed the magic the butterfly was formed of. It felt as though it was checking who they were and emanating a sense of curiosity, joy, excitement, impatience, benevolence ane eagerness. She created a breeze to blow around the fire. Nava decided to add his own Elements to the mix and and large snowflakes swirled around a big froplet of water in his palm. The butterfly seemed very pleased and fluttered over to Hiccup and Astrid as if expecting them to display their magic but both humans shook their heads and lifted their Necklaces out of their shirts, pleasing the butterfly even more. It fluttered on ahead and they followed it again. Their Familiars had been watching and observed the butterfly as it fluttered around them.
"I think that butterfly will lead us to our Soul-Dragons." Nava said. "And it wanted to make sure we were the right people." Astrid added. And so they followed the butterfly to a rock wall that spanned to the left and right and was rounded. The butterfly led them to a gap in the wall, cleverly hidden by foliage and was wide and tall enough to let Edme, Artemis, Sprinter and Akira in and out. The pull leading them to their Soul-Dragons was stronge ever, so strong nearly all they could was the urge to go through the gap in the wall and meet their Soul-Dragons for the first time in person.
Without even needing to ask, Aniu, Nava, Hiccup, Astrid, Caruso, Edme, Zena, Artemis, Sorena, Sprinter, Stryker and Akira went through the rock wall, walked down a narrow passageway and out into bright sunlight on a rock ledge towering above a most beautiful cove. One half of it was grassy land with patches of trees and boulders, the entire area was big enough to fit a whole her dragons and or half the village. The other half was a massive pond big and perhaps deep enough to fit a whole herd of Scauldrons and Thunderdrums. It was amazingly well-hidden from the sky and from the surrounding forest.
"How do we get down?" Astrid asked. "We could morph and fly down." Hiccup told her. "I still remember when Nava and I showed you our other Forms." Aniu said, smiling at the memory of Hiccup and Astrid staring at her and Nava when they showed them their other Forms. Her wings twitched when she remembered Hiccup and Astrid running their hands through their Dire Wolf fur, Barn Owl and Golden Eagle feathers and their Summer Dragon and Winter Dragon scales. That was the first time Hiccup and Astrid had ever touched dragon scales still attached to a dragon body even though Aniu and Nava were not actually dragons but Elf-Faes in their Dragon Forms. They had had a lot of fun that day showing Hiccup and Astrid what they could do with their Forms but they had never gotten onto their backs in their Dragon Forms as they insisted on doing it for the first time with their Soul-Dragons. That had not stopped Hiccup and Astrid from riding on their Dire Wolf Forms though, going at high speeds, jumping over obstacles and running as long as they could.
Then Aniu, Nava, Sorena, Sprinter, Stryker and Akira taught Hiccup and Astrid how to morph into their Barn Owl, Golden Eagle and Reindeer Forms with the help of Caruso, Edme, Zena and Artemis. They spent days teaching them how to fly in their Bird Forms and run in their Mammal Forms and it was glorious, uplifting, freeing and wonderful. They had thrown a small party that night and shown their families their Bird and Mammal Forms. Stoick, Gobber, Arthur, Ingrid, Fengo, Namara, Arin, Theo, Nala and Mira embraced them, telling the four Soul-Mates how wonderful it was.
The butterfly was growing impatient, fluttering around their heads at increasing speeds. "All right, we are flying down." Aniu chided. "Let us morph into our Bird Forms, please." Nava said and the butterfly flew back tro give them some space. Aniu and Nava turned into their Bird Forms and waited patiently for Hiccup and Astrid to do the same. Both humans took deep breaths and called forth their Bird Forms, letting their magic turn their human into those of a Barn Owl and a Golden Eagle.
Hiccup's Barn Owl form was as big as a Great Gray Owl and his heart-shaped facial disk was electric silver with a black outline and emerald green eyes. His head and upperpart feathers were reddish-brown, covered partly by a black veil marked by silver spots surrounded by reddish-brown. His taiul feathers were similar with black bars and with black dots near the tips of the feathers. Hiccup's underside feathers were electric silver with small, scattered black spots that resembled tiny lightning bolts. His legs were feathered electric silver with black spots nearly to the base of the bare toes which were reddish-brown with black talons. Astrid's Golden Eagle Form had golden-blonde feathers with sapphire blue eyes and white talons.
Together, Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid spread their wings and flew down into the Cove after the butterfly, landing on the grass and turning back into their Human/oid Forms. Caruso, Edme, Zena, Artemis, Sorena, Sprinter, Stryker and Akira spread their wings and flew down after them, landing a short distance away and folding their wings. "This cove is of utmost beauty and full of fish and plantlife. " Edme breathed in awe. "I cannot imagine a better place for the Bonding of the first four Dragon-Soul-Riders to their dragons." Artemis said, gazing around the cove with his sapphire blue eyes, ears flicking at sounds and inhaling scents through his nose. The ground felt soft and rich beneath his paws. "There is a lot of room for each of us to run, fly and play in." Sprinter said. "I would simply to graze upon this grass. Nature is plentiful here." Akira added.
The butterfly led them to a cavern entrance then flew inside after gesturing for them to wait outside. Only a minute passed before sensed the presences of their Soul-Dragons and other dragons approach. Another minute passed before their Soul-Dragons came into view and their breaths were stolen away as they gazed in awe and wonder at each other. A male Night Fury, a female Deadly Nadder, a male Summer Dragon and a female Winter Dragon slowly approached Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava, staring at them in awe, wonder, joy and excitement. "Hiccup?"/ "Toothless?"/ "Astrid?"/ Stormfly?"/ "Aniu?"/ "Heatwave?"/ "Nava?"/ "Icicle?" the four Soul-Mates and their Soul-Dragons asked each other.
Toothless, the male Night Fury, had midnight black scales as dark as a moonless night sky, forest green, slitted eyes the colour of fresh leaves in Spring, lighter black spinal cord ridges and manta ray-like lightning bolt markings all over his body. The colours and texture of his scales were perfect for flying at night unseen. Hiccup knew right away that Toothless was not a vicious, mindless, blood-thirsty, monstrous beast but an intelligent, wise creature whose soul reflected his own. Toothless was both gentle and ferocious, kind, protective, loving, affectionate, caring, calm and generous.
And that was the case for the other dragons. Stormfly, the female Deadly Nadder, had shiny, sky blue scales, yellow eyes, tail stripes, horns, underscales and spines. Heatwave, the male Summer Dragon, had yellow scales, orange eyes, horns, wing membranes, underscales and sun-like leopard spots all over his body and a warm, basking heat emanating from his scales as well as smoke trailing from his nostrils. Icicle, the female Winter Dragon, had pure, snow white scales emanating a pleasant coolness, eyes, undersides of her wings, underscales, horns and spines the colour of fresh, untainted ice and wisps of snowflakes blowing gently from her nose like a light snowfall every time she exhaled.
With no conscious thought in their minds, Hiccup and Toothless, Astrid and Stormfly, Aniu and Heatwave, Nava and Icicle moved closer and closer to their respectice Soul-Dragons/ Soul-Riders. When they were only inches apart, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava simultaneously lifted their hands and Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle lowered their heads in unison, moving them closer and closer to each other. In the very same second, Hiccup's hand made contact with Toothless's snout, Astrid's hand made contact with Stormfly's snout, Aniu's hand made with Heatwave's snout and Nava's hand made contact with Icicle's snout. As soon their hands and snouts met, four bright flashes of light filled the Cove as Hiccup and Toothless, Astrid and Stormfly, Aniu and Heatwave, Nava and Icicle Bonded. They could feel their Bonded's powers and abilities flowing back and forth between them.
Caruso, Edme, Zena, Artemis, Sorena, Sprinter, Stryker and Akira watched in awe. Edme and Artemis threw back their heads and howled into the sky, joined by the screeches of Caruso and Sorena, the jubilant screams of Zena and Stryker and the brays of Sprinter and Akira as they reared into the air. It was a magical, sacred moment they would remember for the rest of their lives, the moment the four Soul-Mates found, met and Bonded with their Soul-Dragons and the Night Fury, the Deadly Nadder, the Summer Dragon and the Winter Dragon found, met and Bonded with their Soul-Riders. After what seemed like time had no meaning but was only a minute, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava lowered their hands while Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle moved their heads away so they could stare into each other's eyes.
"The time of the Soul-Dragon-Riders has come again." Toothless said, his voice warm and smooth and baritone. "The reign of Evregina the Tyrannical will soon be over." Stormfly said. "But the Hags-Fiends will soon make their moves, we must be ready by then." Icicle said. "But first, we must teach you four everything we know about Soul-Dragon-Riders." Heatwave added. That was when a Griffin, a Phoenix, an Alicorn and a Hippogriff walked forward until they were only feet away. Each of them were females and they regarded the new Soul-Dragon-Riders warmly with joy in their eyes. "There is much to be done and so little time. I am Elenia." The Griffin said. "I am Solarfira. I sense your Purified Phoenix Tears and I will tell you more about them." The Phoenix said, her voice was musical and lilting as though she was singing. "I am Lunastar. I will tell you four more about your Pendants." The Winged Unicorn said. "And I am Softmane. Well met, young ones." The Hippogriff Said. "We are honoured to meet you four." Aniu, Nava, Hiccup and Astrid said in unison, bowing their heads in respect.
Griffins were 20 feet long with a wingspan of 40 feet. They had lean, lion bodies with powerful, strong limbs. The rear legs were of a lion with lion claws while the forelegs were of an eagle with super-sharp eagle talons. Their tails were long and rope-like, ending in a plume of eagle feathers and the head was average size, bearing a powerful, sharp eagle beak, large nostrils, eyes and two tufted ears. A Griffin's wings were those of an eagle with overlapping flight feathers. Their bodies were with thick, eagle feathers on their heads and necks and changing smoothly to thick lion fur on their shoulders all the way down to their tail plumes.
Griffins were very powerful creatures and they were long-distance flyers, catching thermals to soar at extreme heights. Very fast, agile, swift and manoeuvrable with incredible senses, particularly eyesight, hearing and smell, able to see a Terrible Terror flying 100 feet away in daylight and 50 feet away at night. Their ears were large and could be turnd and swivelled to face any direction, capable of hearing the faintest sounds such as a mouse's breathing and rustling. A Griffin's sense of smell was also incredible to to the point they could pick up scents of other Beings that were days old. Incredible intelligent, ferocious and with their adept, flexible talons, Griffins were able to manipulate tools and could shape their environment to suit their needs.
Elenia had golden eyes, beak and the undersides of her fur was also golden in colour as were the eagle markings on her wing and tail feathers. The rest of her feathers and fur were golden-brown. Phoenixes were massive birds with the bodies, beaks, legs, wings and talons of eagles although their tail feathers were elongated. Depending on their Elemental Subspecies, Phoenixes were hot, cold, warm or cool to the touch but can control their body temperature so no one touching them is hurt and their tears had extremely powerful healing powers, able to cure almost any poison, injury or wound, whether such things were physical, mental, emotional or spiritual but they could not bring dead people back to life unless a miracle occurred. Phoenixes lived for 1000 years but were otherwise immortal, bursting into flames when they died and being reborn from the ashes as a baby Phoenix. They possessed the ability to sing songs of utmost beauty, restoring peace, calm, courage, joy and purity to the minds of pure souls.
Extremely loyal, intelligent, calm, wise and patient, Phoenixes were noble, majestic and honourable Magical Beings. Solarfira was a Fire Phoenix, meaning her powers were based around fire and she was drawn to Aniu. Her feathers were a fiery shade of ruby red with golden talons, beak, cheeks, chest feathers and the underside of her tail feathers. Solarfira's eyes were a bright, fiery shade of blue and the tail of her feathers were also this colour.
Alicorns were 10 feet high at the shoulder, 15 feet long and their wingspans were 25 feet long. They had the bodies, manes, tails, legs and hooves of horses but a single, straight horn with spiral markings grew out of their foreheads, reaching nearly two feet long. A pair of feathered wings grew out their backs. Their hooves, wings and horns were as strong, hard, smooth and shiny as diamonds. Alicorns were powerful, magical Beings. Their horns possessed the power to purify anything it touched and their Elemental Powers lay in elements such as air, water, ice and light. They were gentle, graceful and peaceful creatures but despised any evil doing. Alicorns were also very mysterious and elusive, preferring to only show themselves to people they trusted and or were in gret need of aid.
Lunastar's fur was a pure white so white it made so snow look gray and stars look black. Her wings, mane and tail were pure silver and her eyes, horn and hooves changed between icy blue and pure gold, so gold they almost looked as though they were made out of gold itself. Hippogriffs also had the bodies of horses but with the heads, wings, beaks, eyes and feathers of eagles. Their rear legs were those of a horse while their front legs were those of an eagle. They were also 10 feet high at the shoulder, 15 feet long and their wingspans were 25 feet long. They were ferocious, proud, highly intelligent Magical Beings. Despite possessing no magical powers other highly enhanced senses and being expert fliers, Hippogriffs were not to be underestimated because of their beaks and talons.
Softmane had midnight black feathers and fur with a deep grey beak, hooves on her rear legs, talons on her front legs, horse tail and eagle markings on her feathers. Her eyes were silver. "I think it is time you met Bolt, Electra and our siblings." Toothless said to the four Soul-Mates and their eight Familiars, gesturing at the cave entrance. Two Skrills stepped out into the open. One was male, Bolt and one was female, Electra. Both of them were siblings as evidenced by their similarities. Bolt had silver scales, white underscales and electric blue eyes, spikes and markings. Electra had black scales, dark grey underscales and electric purple eyes, spikes and markings. "Hello, it is very nice to meet all of you." Electra said. "And it was wonderful to see you eight Bonding." Bolt added, both Skrill siblings smiling. That was when a commotion from the cave reached their ears. "Violet, come back here now!" A young male Skrill yelled. "I want to see them!" A much younger female Skrill replied, darting over her older brother and sister. The other male Skrill, evidently their brother, chased after her.
Both of them stopped beside Bolt and Electra. "Sorry about our little sister. She loves meeting new people." The Skrill said. "You know how she is, Spark. Hey, Violet?" Electra said. "Yeah, definitely, big sis and bro." Violet said enthusiastically. The young female Skrill, barely bigger than a yak had violet scales, silver underscales and electric blue eyes, spikes and markings. Spark had electric blue scales, silver underscales, electric purple eyes, highlights and spikes. Three Night Furies made their way over to Toothless and took turns nuzzling him. "These three are my siblings. This is my brother Darkfang and these two are our sisters: Lilith and Amaya." Toothless introduced them. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you lot." Darkfang said. He was the eldest of his siblings and his scales were a light black with dark black crests, claws and panther markings all over his body, curling around his legs and tail and forming a symmetrical pattern on his wings. Darkfang's eyes were a bright spring sky blue.
Lilith's scales were a dark black much like her younger brother Toothless's scales but with lighter black spinal ridges, claws and panther markings all over her body. Her eyes were sky blue like Darkfang's. Amaya was the youngest out of her siblings and her scales were a light black with dark black spinal ridges, claws and manta ray markings all over her body. Her eyes were forest green like Toothless's. Stormfly smiled when three Deadly Nadders walked out of the cave, up to her and nuzzled their sister. Stormfly happily returned the nuzzles and turned to introduce her siblings to them. "These two are my brothers Spike and Magnus and this is my sister Sashara." She said. "We are please to make your aquantance." Spike said. He was younger than Stormfly but older than Magnus and Sashara. His scales were sapphire blue with golden eyes, underscales, spikes, horns and tail stripes. Sashara had ice blue scales, yellow underscales, horns, spikes, eyes and tail stripes. Magnus was the youngest out of his siblings and he had cobalt blue scales, blonde underscales, horns, spikes, eyes and tail stripes.
"Hey! Why do we have to miss out on all the fun?" / "Yeah! We are a part of this group!" Two voices said and both of their owners raced out of the cave, skidding to a halt in front of Darkfang, Lilith and Amaya. They were both young Night Furies, only about the same age as Violet who was around 5 years old. "This little rascal is Nightus." Lilith said, stroking the male Night Fury youngling's back affectionately. "And this little miscreant is Onyx." Amaya said fondly, patting the female Night Fury youngling's back. "Hi!" Nightus and Onyx chirped. Nightus had obsidian black scales, moon-silver eyes and lighter black spiral markings all over his body. Onyx had pure black scales, molten silver eyes and no markings.
Aniu, Nava, Hiccup, Astrid, Caruso, Edme, Zena, Artemis, Sorena, Sprinter, Stryker and Akira gazed around the Cove and the Dragons, Griffin, Alicorn, Phoenix and Hippogriff in awe. "I did not know there would be so many of you." Aniu gasped. "Well, guess what? There is like 32 of us now, including you four and your Familiars." Heatwave replied. "I thought we were only going to be meeting our Soul-Dragons." Nava added. "Well, all of us have gathered here for a reason or two." Iciclesaid. "Well, I guess your friends and family wanted to be here to witness this special occasion." Hiccup said to Toothless, who snorted humourously in agreement. "More like we took refuge here so we could wait for you twelve." He replied. "But what will happen if someone from the village finds you guys here?" Astrid asked in concern. "Do not worry, Astrid. This place is well hideen and isolated even from the sky." Stormfly said.
"We are here so we may find the Soul-Riders of Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle and end the war." Elenia said seriously. "The Majora Maximus who goes by the name of Evregina the Queen is the reason dragons are attacking Berk and the other Viking tribes of the Archipelago." Solarfira told them sadly. "She enslaves any dragon who falls under her mind control and forces them to raid, steal and kill." Lunastar said. "She also has an alliance with a group of Hags-Fiends who keep her dragon slaves under her control and power." Softmane added.
"Evregina is a tyrant, a monster, a lazy so-called queen, a war-mongerer, a slaver, a cannibal and an over-all BITCH!" Toothless snarled. "Whenever a dragon fails to do what they are are forced to do and or disobey her commands...she eats them or…gives them to her Hags-Fiends so they can…rape, torture and or kill them." Stormfly said quietly and it was obvious by the tone and quietness of her voice that she had witnessesd it happen before. "We have lost so many friends, family and fellow dragons because of her." Icicle added, draping a wing over Stormfly's to comfort her. "That is yet another reason why we must kill her and end this war. Only with the deaths of Evregina and her Hags-Fiends and the liberation of our fellow dragons will this war end peacefully for both sides." Heatwave concluded.
"But we have to think this through carefully. If someone finds us and Evregina and her Hags-Fiends are alerted, Berk could be destroyed." Electra said. "I agree with my sister. We have to be careful and make no mistakes." Bolt added. "Now that we are Soul-Bonded, our planning and decision making must begin." Toothless said. "We must account for each possible scenario event or situation." Stormfly said. "That includes training, learning, discovering, getting to know each other, working as a team and distinguishing friend from foe." Icicle said. "But first, let us know each other's stories. That way, we can get to know each other." Heatwave said.
And so, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu, Nava and their Familiars told their audience of dragons, Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane a short but detailed story of their lives on their respective home islands and villages, families, friends, enemies, hardships, treasured memories, meeting their Familiars, growing more aware and getting to know each other through dreams and visions, skills and talents, Aniu and Nava's families moving to Berk and meeting Hiccup, Astrid, their friends and families for the first time in person, activating their Soul-Bond and being transported to their Children of Sunheela Home, meeting Evelyn, Torian, Miniki and Stryka for the first time, receiving the first of their Gifts from the four Ghosts, exploring their Home, their friends and Families reactions when they told them, what had happened in the two months afterwards and then finally, the Dragon Raid and the events that happened after that until they first met them.
In return, Toothless, Stormfly, Icicle and Heatwave told them of what they remembered of their time as slaves under Evregina to much shock, horror and disgust as Evregina mind wiped the memories of every one of her slaves so they would not remember their lives before she enslaved them or anything that would make them rebel with the help of the Hags-Fiends and crystals that emplified her powers to make her more powerful. They told them that one night, they were mysteriously freed from Evregina's mind control and led out of the nest by a disembodied presence who cast a spell over them, their siblings, Bolt, Electra, Spark, Violet, Nightus and Onyx so they could sneak away without anyone noticing their absence. Once Toothless, Stormfly, Icicle and Heatwave were free, they began to have Soul-Rider Dreams which was the exact same time Hiccup, Astrid, Nava and Aniu began to have theirs. So they flew to Berk, found the Cove and had been hiding there ever since, waiting for Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava.
Story time would have gone on longer if Solarfira had not looked up at the sky and noticed the setting sun. Knowing their families were waiting for them, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava rushed back home with their Familiars after saying goodbye to Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave, Icicle, Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar, Softmane, Darkfang, Lilith, Amaya, Spike, Magnus, Sashara, Bolt, Electra, Spark, Violet, Nightus and Onyx who were sad to see them go but they cheered up when the four Soul-Mates promised to return as soon as they could. Before they left, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava wrapped their arms around their respective Soul-Dragons and said they will miss them. In reply, Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave ands Icicle gazed deeply into Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava's eyes and said only 15 words that meant a lot to them. "May the blessings of Draco be with you in all of your endeavours, young Soul-Mates." With those words echoing in their heads, The four Soul-Mates and their eight Familiars left the Cove.
Author's Note: Well, here is the third chapter of Dawn of the Dragoniters. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava have met Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle along with a Griffin, a Phoenix, an Alicorn, a Hippogriff, five Night Furies, three of which are Toothless's litter-mate siblings and thus the same age as him, three Deadly Nadders and two Skrills. And they got through the Dragon Raid with no problem. Next chapter will have Stoick enrolling the four Soul-Mates into Dragon Training, facing off against Meatlug and then going back to the Cove.
