Kindred

Dark eyes narrowed when Kakarott lifted a hand to grasp a few strands of blue hair, saccharine smile plastered on his face, Bulma lifts a hand to smack away the idiots digits laughing at something he said-a pout tugging at his lower lip, a mock look of hurt on his face adding insult to injury, how could such a weakling be his superior in power.

It was humiliating.

Frail, slim shoulders knock against the tall fighter's rib and he's laughing again, there is something picturesque about them together. There was history between them, it was clear from the close proximity, the easy way they reference past events and would have side conversations as if no one else was there.

"It's nothing you know-"

Scowl deepens when he realizes the third class's Harpy has managed to get the drop on him.

"What are you going on about now?"

"You know it wouldn't kill you to be nicer Vegeta."

"Hn."

"Jerk-" crossing her arms under her chest, eyes drift back to the scene before them, "They've always been like that, since we were kids. Goku's idea of personal space has definitely improved but it's never really applied to her. I mean this is the man who thought marriage was food."

As if on cue the orange clad fighter pinches Bulma's cheek, stretching the skin and letting it snap back with a giggle as he ran off-the blasted woman gave chase even though she knew she was hopelessly outmatched.

"Does it not bother you, this display?"

Chi Chi raises a dark brow in surprise, she was sure it would have been a wasted effort on her part but she supposed the heart was a funny thing.

"It used to-she's beautiful, always dashing off to the next adventure."

Bulma screeches some vulgarity at Goku that he doesn't quite catch, they've drawn the attention of most of the group. Most of them are laughing, others are shaking their head. All of them too used these antics to be surprised. He himself has seen these displays dozens of times but all of it is different now. After Buu's defeat he'd found himself dealing with a change in their relationship which had been a long time coming since Cell.

He cared, genuinely.

And caring apparently came with many more strings then he thought. Strings that tugged at his heart, god damn it he was the Prince of all Sayains not some love struck weakling.

"What really put it to bed for me was you."

Trunks and Goten have joined the chase now, all three Sayains being careful to keep their speed as human as possible so as not to ruin the fun.

When he doesn't inquire more so Chi Chi decides to volunteer it regardless. She was never shy and never minced words about her opinions. "The way she looks at you, she's never looked at my Goku the way she looks at you. So don't screw this up, if not for yourself then for my peace of mind."

She leaves him to his solitude and spectating and Chi Chi wonders if maybe they don't have more in common then she thought.
