Steady, even breaths. Bonnie Bennett was taking steady even breaths as she sat on the ground in the back yard of her grandmother's house. Currently, the earth's energy was flowing through her fingertips, making its way inside her bloodstream.

"- It's real and it's serious, and you must understand it before you practice it."

Her Gram's voice entered her mind as she concentrated on the task at hand. The earth was allowing her to extract energy from it… from its soil… from its roots. It was giving permission to not only take, but to absorb. It was allowing her to fully understand nature around her and her magic was latching onto it…weaving its web within her. And the feeling that was coursing through her was almost indescribable. It was like a mix between primal and passion; knowledge and power. There was so much power that she could practically taste it on her tongue. It was almost like her bones were shifting to allow it access.

This wasn't the first time she had tried literally becoming one with nature. Earlier this week she had practiced it on the Whitmore campus away from prying eyes, but because she had to stay alert, she didn't get a chance to focus all of her being in it, and the earth deserved her full attention… it deserved all of her. So, by doing it at the peace and quiet of her Gram's home, she was able to feel everything that had been missing. And an added plus was that her grandmother had a cloaking spell around her place if she ever practiced magic outside so humans wouldn't be able to see anything.

All of her senses were magnified, letting her not only feel those in her surrounding neighborhood, but she could feel those who walked this land before her time. She could feel happiness, sadness, wrath, love, empathy, and security. She could feel them all at once, making it impossible to attach herself to just one alone. It literally left her starved for more, and yet she knew she was just getting a mild taste. With all the magic dormant inside of her, nature was providing her with the strength and brain capacity to soak it all in. She was not only understanding, but allowing all the different practices of magic to flow within her; from ancestral, sacrificial, traditional, spirit magic, and even dark and expression. Bonnie knew that she would be able to adapt to them all… to any and everything.

She was the vessel.

When Bonnie's eyes shot open, she didn't need to look in a mirror to know that her orbs were black. There was just literally so much power flowing within her, and the thought that this wasn't even the half of it, made her wonder how she would be when it was. The seasons began to change right before her eyes. She could feel the freshness of spring, the hot summer sun, the cool breeze of fall, the cold and snowy weather of winter. It was changing all around her…because of her…. because she was granted the power to do so; because she was the power to do so. She had to wonder if other witches around the world were able to experience this in their lifetime, because it was truly immaculate….a gifted treasure.

Her cell phone buzzing almost made her jump out of her skin and lose the concentration she was so desperately trying to hold onto. She immediately took a deep breath, trying to push through the head rush and blurred vision that had engulfed her. There was a process of stopping her magic when connecting with nature, and doing so quickly without feeling dizzy wasn't one of them. It was a good thing she was already sitting down.

She wasn't surprised to see Damon's name flash on the screen. They had spent the majority of the day calling and texting one another while she was at Whitmore and she could tell just by the urgency in his tone that he was ready for their weekend together. During the week, if she weren't busy with classes, dance, or magic practice, she was dealing with no humanity Caroline and bitchy Elena. So, it was safe to say that she hadn't really had a chance to see Damon throughout the week and she was probably more eager for their weekend together than he was.

Are you done yet? - D.

She smiled and rolled her eyes. It amused her how needy Damon could be yet hold a demeanor of a terrifying killer.

Not yet. Be patient or I'm not coming at all- B.

Ha. You know you can't stay away too long. I'm like a fever you can't shake;)-D

She laughed a little.

Yeah, like a disease. –B

If anyone were to come up to Bonnie today and ask what she and Damon were to each other, she honestly wouldn't be able to give them just one answer. They were best friends, which was an obvious fact, but then the discussion could be brought up that they were soulmates. Hell, they were bonded in a way that could surpass even that term. The two most guarded individuals were able to find solace in one another. Granted, they argued and bickered at times, but at the end of the day they always came back.

Thinking about the arguing and bickering they weren't foreign to, immediately made her think of the conversation they had two days after the funeral. She had the dorm room all to herself that night and called Damon to keep her company until she fell asleep. Well, a conversation that started out mildly entertaining, turned heated quickly.

"Ooh, phone sex, Bon-Bon? What are you wearing? I can already let you know that I'm naked with my hand on my…"

"Damon! I will hang up this phone."

She would never admit to him that she had been turned on a little. But that all changed when Damon decided to bluntly ask if she and Jeremy ever had phone sex. Her answer was no. And when she tried to change the subject, he decided it would be informative to know about her sexual history.

"So, was Jeremy your first?"

"Was Elena your first?"

Her sarcasm was not missed, but his nonchalant attitude bothered her.

"You already know that answer."

"Damon, why are we talking about this?"

"Curious minds want to know, and we never talked about this in our little other dimension world."

"Exactly, so why do we have to talk about it now?"

"Since you're avoiding, that means he wasn't. Who was?"

Damon wasn't slick. His whole possessive alpha male demeanor came out that night and so were some hidden insecurities that she was able to pick up on. They talked about a lot in the prison world, and Elena and Jeremy had been the topic most days, but they never really went further than that; they never really divulged into past occurrences with other people. Granted, Bonnie knew a fare share of Damon's partners, but that just wasn't the topic of their main discussions.

So, why she thought if she continued the conversation and told him everything that he would just drop it, was beyond her.

"Jeremy was my first. Well, technically, Tyler was the first to actually do the whole oral thing, but I don't know if that really counts. And then other kisses from other guys here and there, but Jeremy was pretty much my one and only."

Bonnie was known for rambling, but that explanation probably took the cake.

"You and Tyler Lockwood?"

Silence engulfed them for a few seconds, and of course the conversation went downhill from there.

"Damon, you still there?"

"You guys sure do like to keep it in the group."

That of course pissed her off.

"Really, because you and your brother have been sharing women since 1864."

"But we're not talking about me. I can't believe you went there with Tyler. I can't believe you let him taste…."

"It was a long time ago." She cut him off. Damon had a way of making his words sound like sin even if he weren't trying too. "It happened one time the summer before our freshman year of high school. We were the only ones in town during the summer, and it just happened. No one knows about it, because it wasn't that big of a deal and we promised we'd take it to our grave…which means that I broke that promise." Not that it really mattered, since Bonnie had been up close and personal with death several times

"Is that why you two were sitting all cozy at the funeral?"

"Really? I'm not even going to answer that. Let's just talk about something else, because it didn't matter then and it doesn't matter now."

Bonnie remembered that they sat in silence for five minutes straight, and yet neither of them hung up the phone.

"Damon."

Silence.

"Damon, if you don't say anything I'm going to hang up."

Silence again.

"You know, you seriously can't be mad at me. What about when I left you and Elena alone the other day. You still haven't tried to tell me what happened between the two of you."

Quite frankly, Bonnie hadn't really thought about that day until now, and that was only because she hated when Damon gave her the silent treatment, and he knew it too.

"I told Elena that I was in love with you and then sent her on her way."

His voice broke the silence and her heart did this stupid flutter, even though she still wanted to show anger towards him.

After another moment of silence, Bonnie couldn't help but chuckle a bit.

"I guess we don't really do jealousy well."

"I don't get jealous, that was all you."

"Are you kidding me?"

"You should get some sleep, Bennett; you have an early class tomorrow."

She remembered rolling her eyes and putting her phone on speaker before she got comfortable in her bed. It was funny to her how Damon would be the first one to call someone lame for couples staying on the phone together while they slept, but he was the first one to actually start it between them.

Before Bonnie made her way back inside, finally able to stand up straight, she stared at the scene before her. In her back yard, it looked as if spring threw up scenery that could only be seen in a painting. Since the rest of her neighborhood wasn't exactly in the full bloom of spring yet, she waved her hand, causing the landscape to return back to its originality. Grams may have had a cloaking spell up, but that was only when magic was being performed; actually changing scenery and allowing it to stick so that the neighbors could ask a long list of questions, was a whole other ball game.

Opening the door with her mind, without even realizing it, she made her way inside the house and into the kitchen. She took a moment to just s out the atitare at all of the grimoires upon the counter top. She had several books in front of her, the majority being the ones she got from the Martin's after their death, and the rest were from Grams. The feeling she got just by looking at them was like that burst of emotion you get when you have an obsession for books and you walk into a bookstore, screaming internally of all the different books at your fingertips. And then there was the magic she could feel radiating from them. Just knowing all of the power she could gain and the spells she could perform using them was literally mouthwatering.

She recently found two grimoires stored away in Gram's attic that focused mainly on the black arts. From what she knew about the spell books that belonged to Grams was that they would appear to her when she was ready for them. So, it shocked yet pleased her that she found them this time around when she had been up in that attic and cleaned it out several times. Other witches and covens would probably assume that she wanted to embrace evil or that evil was imbedded in her heart or something, but that wasn't the case. If she was going to be great and continue this journey then she had to have the knowledge of everything. And plus, in one of the books explained the practice of necromancy and a spell she wanted to try out soon.

The buzzing of her phone went off again, pulling her away from her thoughts. This time it was Matt, informing her that Elena wanted them all to get together to figure out a plan to turn Caroline's humanity switch back on. Bonnie ignored the text message. She loved Matt to death, but if Elena wanted to talk to her then she could pick up the phone herself. She had her number and was more than capable of using it. But that wasn't the only reason she ignored the text. Caroline's humanity switch had only been off for one week, and she hadn't harmed or killed anyone. Bonnie understood the urgency of everyone wanting their friend back to normal, but they needed to sit down and understand where Caroline was coming from. Her mom was ripped away from her suddenly, and if she wanted to turn her emotions off and not feel anything than she had that choice of doing so. Bonnie would have loved to have had that choice when her Grams and dad died, but she didn't. Yes, it was an easy way out to mask the pain, but everyone grieved differently, and everyone in their group of friends had done what they had to do to help ease the pain in their lives. Why did Caroline have to be any different?

Bonnie then recalled the conversation Caroline had with she and Elena the day after her mom was buried.

"In exchange for my good behavior, I want a year where I don't have to feel pain or grief or remorse. You're not gonna lock me in a cell and dry me out, and you're definitely not gonna try to trigger some latent emotion, hoping to snap my humanity back on."

"So all you want is for us to leave you alone for a year, and then you promise not to kill anyone?" Elena confirmed.

"That's all I want. Now granted, if anyone tries to do anything to flip my switchback on, and I mean anything…"

Bonnie could remember the threatening look Caroline gave off.

"I'll be your worst nightmare."

And then that no humanity, fake smile showed. "Great! I'm gonna get a latte. See you!

Bonnie was absolutely fine with giving Caroline a year, as long as she didn't slip up and hurt anyone. Of course Elena wanted things done her way, and then there was Stefan who was putting blame on himself because he didn't tell her how he felt. Bonnie was quite sure that Stefan admitting his feelings wouldn't have helped a damn thing. Caroline may have been a free spirit when it came to the male species, but she just lost her mother. Nothing could trump that.

That day was really the only time she had seen Caroline. The only time Bonnie was at the dorm was around night fall and Caroline was always out partying. Elena seemed to put all her frustration in Bonnie because she didn't seem to show any interest or care in the situation, but that was far from the truth. Just because she was letting Caroline have her moment, that didn't mean Bonnie wasn't keeping tabs on her. She was able to locate Caroline anywhere and know exactly what she was doing. It didn't matter if they weren't speaking or if profanities were said, she was still her best friend and she wasn't going to let her harm anyone or cause harm to herself. And then there was also a little plan that Bonnie had; a little secret that she kept hidden just in case it didn't work. And if Caroline decided to turn her emotions back on because of it, then great. If not, than a year would just have to do.

"So, I meant to ask how your date went with Alaric? Was Enzo jealous?" She jokingly asked as she walked into Damon's kitchen, in nothing but his t-shirt and a pair of shorts she left over here. This had practically become her weekend lounge attire.

After arriving at his place over an hour ago, they ate dinner, and then Bonnie went to take a shower. She was absolutely stuffed from the parmesan garlic chicken and pasta Damon perfected. She actually may have committed a smidge of gluttony because she kept going back for more even though she was full.

Now, she was rejoining him in the kitchen while he made homemade Zeppoli. The way his hands messed around in the dough, made Bonnie take a second look. She would blame her libido on the third glass of red wine in her hand.

"Ha." He deadpanned. "That comedian job is yours if you want it." He looked her up and down, causing her to take another sip. "Get this, Jo is having Alaric's baby."

Bonnie's eyes widened as she propped herself up on the counter beside him.

"Really?" She almost forgot that there were people in their little crowd that could actually get pregnant and build a family.

This was way better news than explaining how her day of witchcraft went. She found an interest in talking about what she was learning with her magic and could go on for hours with Damon about how it made her feel. What was a major plus was that he actually seemed fully interested and not just putting on a facade just because they were close. The only thing she couldn't tell him about right now was that she found the black arts books. She didn't need to ruin a good moment by him getting worried and expressing his dislike of it.

"Yep, hopefully the child gets Jo's looks because not much is working for Ric."

A giggle escaped her lips. Usually she would have held in her laughter at Damon being rude, but the wine was definitely loosening her up.

"Do you think they'll move or stay here?"

"I don't know. Alaric is so whipped; he'd go live in the middle of nowhere if Jo wanted."

Which may not have been a bad idea if they were able to raise their child without all the dangers popping up around them.

"And plus I'm sure she wouldn't want to raise their child with an uncle from hell always around." Damon said, taking a sip of his Bourbon.

Bonnie almost choked a little, as the wine went down the wrong pipe.

"Hey, you alright?"

She nodded. The concern in Damon's voice and eyes was heartwarming, but her main focus at the moment was on his mentioning of Kai. It was odd because even though she couldn't stand him, if he was brought up in conversation it didn't really bring an eerie feeling to her; especially since he stopped interfering in her dreams. Something just felt off.

But, as she took another sip of wine, she decided to push the thought of him aside and concentrate back on their conversation. Thinking of Kai would make anyone squirm to be honest, so maybe she was just overreacting.

"How's Stefan?" she asked, changing the subject.

"He still mopes around thinking that Blondie turning off her humanity was his fault."

"But it's not." She couldn't help but roll her eyes. She had a soft spot for Stefan, she really did, and maybe she was picking up some of Damon's habits, but Stefan thinking that it was his fault annoyed the hell out of her.

"Try telling him that, he'll give you every reason under the sun why it is."

"Between him and Elena I don't know who's worse. It's taking everything in me not to burst her brain with how she's been talking to me because of Caroline."

"Did you expect anything different?"

"A little, since they've both turned their emotions off before. Granted, Stefan was a ripper, and Elena was an evil bitch monster from hell..." She couldn't help but giggle a little, realizing how crazy she sounded. "Where was I going with this again?"

Yes, the wine had gotten to her.

Damon provided a smile and pulled her gently off the counter.

"Enough talk about that. You ready for your dessert lesson?"

Bonnie folded her arms. "Damon, I already told you, I'm a pro."

"I don't need you to burn down the kitchen like you almost did in 1994."

"That was more your fault than mine. You sprayed me with a water gun, so I had to retaliate."

"Excuses will never teach you how to cook."

She stuck her tongue out at him.

As she began mixing all the ingredients together, Damon stood behind her. "See you need to do it like this." His hands were on hers now, practically trapping her in with no way to escape. Bonnie almost felt like Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in the pottery scene in Ghost. But, of course there were vast differences.

Bonnie knew Damon could tell how quick her heart rate sped up, and blaming it on the wine would be a cheap cop out.

"Your problem is that you're always in a rush." He whispered, his lips now taking on a soft caress against her ear. "How you practice and concentrate on your magic, that's how you should prepare food. Savor it… let it feel smooth under your fingertips. It's simple really."

Simple? Simple was learning how to climb a tree, even though she sure as hell couldn't. Everything on this earth seemed simple than preparing food with Damon. She was about to have an orgasm over some damn flour.

"Just like that?" She almost didn't recognize her own voice. It sounded more seductive.

"Yes, just like that…" His lips were now on her neck, giving her just the slightest and softest of kisses.

Bonnie leaned her head back into him.

"Damon…" His name came out on a moan, and before she knew it, she was being turned around to face him.

Pure unadulterated sex showed in his eyes. He wanted her… he wanted every inch of her. And it wasn't a secret that she wanted him too.

She braced her hands on his chest, instead of intertwining their fingers like last time. She knew what he wanted her to do… what they both wanted. And as soon as the thought crossed their minds, their energies began to flow together, and she didn't even need to recite a spell.

Bonnie wasn't sure how to explain it, but it felt different this time around. She wasn't sure if it was because she had been working on her magic more and was still juiced from earlier, but whatever it was, hit her sex drive instantly.

She could feel herself inside of him again, and it literally felt like Damon's blood was flowing through her blood stream. Bonnie knew without a doubt that if they weren't supernatural than they would have exploded. There was no better term for it. When Damon's lips connected with hers, Bonnie's eyes opened for a brief moment. Her vision was so blurred that it looked like he was shifting against her lips. She didn't know how morbid it sounded, but Damon wasn't just kissing her physically, it felt like he was kissing pieces of her soul…. like he was breathing for her.

Her arms made their way around his neck, and even though she could feel herself pulling him in, it all felt like an out of body experience. It felt deeper… richer than the last time. And when the first wave of what felt like an orgasm hit her, she moaned in his mouth.

When they pulled apart, they both seemed bereft of all their senses. She knew the way his body shook and his deep breathing that an orgasm had coursed through him as well. When their eyes finally connected, she watched as his vamp face transformed back and forth. His hands gripped onto the counter, steadying him and holding her in place.

She could sense between their shared essence and by the look on his face that he was trying to hold it together and not rip her clothes off. He obviously had a little more control than she did.

She pulled her shirt off, revealing a red lace bra, and stepped out of her shorts revealing the matching panties. Her eyes connected back with his, and his vampire face was fully erect now… and so was another part of his anatomy.

Damon didn't even bother pulling off his clothes as he got on his knees in front of her. He was kneeling before her like she was his queen and he was her jester; like she was his goddess and he didn't deserve what he was about to be graciously given.

And when he brought one leg up to rest on his shoulder, and slid the scrap of lace she called underwear to the side, he used his tongue to implement sweet torture between her thighs.

Bonnie almost lost it. She had no other choice but to lean back against the counter, as Damon absorbed her honey as if it were blood… as if he hadn't had a meal in weeks. He tongue fucked her in a way that made her toes curl unintentionally and she didn't know if breathing was possible at this point.

It was a keen fact that Bonnie had never gotten this much pleasure from anyone in her life, and then add on the fact that they were connecting, she couldn't really help but wonder if feeling this much pleasure should even be possible. It could become addicting.

She came twice before her other leg tied around his neck, while he lifted her up and backed her against the wall. She didn't even realize when her panties and his shirt had been discarded. She wondered if he had removed them or she unconsciously used her magic to do so.

She moaned his name as another wave hit, and it was so intense this time that the ground literally shook beneath their feet.

When he stopped, his eyes looked up at hers and the rapture of ecstasy shot through them almost forcefully. And when they felt themselves falling back, not caring if they hit the ground, the spinning feeling that Bonnie felt a couple times before, engulfed them.

When she was finally able to focus, she was on Damon's bed, lying on top of him. They literally took no time to realize that she just teleported them, before he flipped them over and made a resting place between her thighs.

As his lips found hers again, Bonnie knew that Damon wanted to be inside of her. It wasn't just the way he was grinding against her, but with them sharing energy, they could practically hear each other's thoughts and know what the other was feeling. And since he knew that she wasn't ready for them to cross that particular line yet, he opted to enter a couple fingers inside of her instead. And between finger fucking her and his mouth making a home against the crook of her neck, Bonnie honestly wasn't sure if she was going to live through this.

And yet, she wanted him to bite her. She wanted her blood on his tongue.

So, when his fangs descended as soon as the thought crossed her mind, Bonnie's eyes widened a little at the pinch of skin. Her blood entering Damon's system caused the energy sharing to amplify and they both came.

But, that didn't stop Damon. As he continued to take what was his, Bonnie decided to take what was hers. She used her magic to slice open a cut on his shoulder, and immediately put her mouth on it.

He stopped for a moment, but didn't lift up as he moaned her name, and his body shook as another orgasm hit him.

The coppery taste of his blood was like euphoria against Bonnie's tongue, and she was too caught up in the moment to be shocked that she was consuming blood willingly… and liking it.

When they were completely finished, they didn't even realize the bed was floating until it hit the ground in a loud thud. To say that they were both drained and stated was an understatement. Their eyes may have been connecting with the ceiling, but everything was blurred and rushed as they tried to catch their breaths and come down from an astonishing high.

Damon Salvatore was hungry. And not just hungry for the sustenance he receives from blood. He was ravenous for the sweet taste between Bonnie Bennett's thighs. He was hungry for her smile… every little thing that made her tick. And yes, he was hungry for her blood. It wasn't a secret to some vampires who were able to be granted a taste of witch's blood that it was almost like an addiction. The blood was ten times better than that of a regular human and it left a certain linger of power that vampires loved to feed off of. But there was something different with Bonnie's blood, richer than the ordinary witch. It was more satisfying and almost left him immobilized. And if he didn't respect her or have some sort of conscience, he would have never stopped. Bonnie Bennett was definitely his drug, and he didn't mind getting drunk off of her. He honestly didn't know if it was because he was being pathetic or the energy that they shared was still buzzing through him. He opted to rely on the latter.

Damon had been alive for close to two centuries and never had he experienced anything like what they just shared. He literally came several times last night and he hadn't even been inside of her. If anyone else ever found out about that without having a full understanding of what happened between them, he would probably be judged for the rest of his undead life. And then when she fed on him… having his blood in her mouth was enough to get him hard all over again.

Before he went downstairs to retrieve several blood bags, he couldn't help but let his eyes linger over her while she slept. He had been with plenty of women in his lifetime; he would have questioned himself if he hadn't, but last night, even though they were sharing each other's energy, even though he could feel every part of her… every cell, every bone in her body, there was still something more to it. That if he had done this with someone else, he felt like it wouldn't have had the same effects. He never felt this way through his obsession with Katherine or what he had with Elena; all of this was something else entirely. All of this running through his bloodstream felt like he was almost undeserving of what he was feeling. He just didn't think that it was generally possible for someone like him to have that.

After placing a light kiss on her forehead, Damon was in his basement before he even realized it. He needed a moment away from her before he woke her up with his mouth between her thighs. It was safe to say that he could live implanted on her mound. He may have ingested sever blood bags before the hunger finally began to cease, but he could still feel a tiny buzz within his body and the taste of Bonnie's honey and blood was still branded on his tongue. Whether they had a title on what they were doing, he had already come to the conclusion that Bonnie was his. And he knew just by the thoughts and the feelings that were entering his body from her last night, he was hers too.

The conversation that he had with Elena last week popped up in his mind. Many people would look at the situation and think that Bonnie was just a rebound and that he didn't care for her, but that wasn't even close to the truth. Bonnie wasn't a rebound. He didn't just wake up one day and say he hated Elena and loved Bonnie. After spending every day for four months together, Bonnie had grown under his skin. Yes, there were times when they wanted to wring each other's neck, but he couldn't imagine being there with anyone else but her. People could argue and say that four months wasn't a long time, but when you were able to take the time to actually learn everything about that person… seeing them at their worst and their best, and molding one of the best friendships he's ever had, then it could be understood that time really didn't matter.

His sensitive hearing wasn't the only reason he knew Bonnie was stirring awake; he could actually feel her waking up. He even knew the moment her eyes opened, trying to adjust to the sunlight that poured in his room.

He was upstairs in no time, plopping down on the bed beside her.

"Are you feeling alright?" she asked.

His chest tightened a little at the fact that she cared. "Yeah, I just went through half our supply of blood bags. Stefan's just going to have to get some more."

Her smile didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Are you okay? Was it too much for you?" He enjoyed last night. Hell he wouldn't lie and say that he didn't crave more, because he did. But he would never want her to over exert herself with her magic. He didn't want her to end up hurting just for a moment of pleasure. Plus, he was more than capable of providing her pleasure all on his own.

"It wasn't." She paused. "For a lack of a better term, it was perfect…."

"But?" He knew her well enough to know that a but was in there somewhere.

When she gently intertwined his fingers with hers, he didn't know if he should be worried about what came next.

"Do you ever just miss it? The prison world?" She asked. "And before you think I'm crazy; spending that month alone with Kai is not something I like to look back on, but spending those months alone with you… it wasn't all bad. We never really had anything to worry about…."

"Unless you were threatening to kill me in my sleep."

She gave him a look. "You were about to put Ms. Cuddles in the garbage disposal, what did you expect?"

"You paid more attention to the bear than you did to me."

"Because Ms. Cuddles wasn't annoying. And you have some nerve to talk. You've had her for three weeks now….which I thought we were going to trade off every week."

"Ms. Cuddles likes it better here with me than at some dingy dorm room." The fact that they were seriously talking about a stuffed animal like it was real just proved how much he was fond of her.

When Bonnie playfully shoved him, he pulled her onto of him quickly, and proceeded to tickle her in spots that he only knew about.

"Okay, okay," She laughed trying to catch her breath between all of the squirming. "Damon, I'm trying to have a serious moment here."

He rested his arms around her. "I'm listening…. go ahead…"

She took a moment to regain herself. "I don't know… every now and then I miss it; just the two of us not having anything to worry about, but your stupid snide comments. Yes we lived the same day over and over again, but I guess I got use too it."

"I miss it too sometimes." He admitted. He had Bonnie all to himself. Yes, he missed his brother and he missed Elena back then as well, but falling back into routine hadn't been easy when he got back. He was just now in the process of getting over whatever PTSD moment he had with seeing Bonnie sacrificing herself and on the brink of death all the time. And discovering that he had feelings for her and having to see her with Jeremy, all the while having Elena in the picture, it just wasn't something that he needed to relive again.

"And sometimes I wonder if we would have been better off just staying. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm happy. I've made goals for myself. I'm finally able to take the time to practice and understand my magic, and I'm back into dance and I know what I want for a career, but I guess I can't help but think about what us being together has done to the people we care about."

He knew the people she was referring to was just one person, and that was Elena. And if it did have something to do with Jeremy, he really didn't care. Even if he and Bonnie never ended up together, he would have made it his life's mission to hook her up with someone better.

"Elena's your best friend, I get that you miss her."

"And at the end of the day I shouldn't, because she's been nothing but a bitch to me, but we've been friends for so long, and not having that anymore isn't something that I've ever really wanted. And I can't blame her for why she's acting that way, because she was with you. She's still in love with you and you and I just happened. What kind of friend am I that I'm with my best friends ex boyfriend, who left her because of his feelings for me?"

"For one, how many times have you sacrificed and put yourself on the line for her and everyone in this town? What kind of friend does that make you now? A damn good one. Too good for words actually." He watched her give a small smile as he continued. "Elena got with me after being with my brother. She and no one else in our little group have any right to judge anyone. Things happen… feelings change, so you shouldn't feel bad about it. I'm not going to let you. What Elena and I had wasn't good for either of us. As many times as I may have got the courage to actually admit it, and as many times as we talked about it, I still didn't let go. But, it was about the chase. It was taking away from my brother because I promised him an eternity of misery. It was Elena wanting danger instead of the safety net she had with Stefan. None of that was okay."

Damon had come to the conclusion many of times, but this was the first time he was actually going into detail about out loud with someone.

"And with you, it's different. You're not trying to change me. I'm not trying to change you. I can talk with you for hours. We can sit in a room together and not say anything at all, but still be communicating. What we have…."

"Doesn't even compare…" She finished his sentence for him.

"Exactly. So don't blame yourself. If anyone should get all the blame it should be me. I wanted you while I was with Elena. You pushed me away and gave me the friend card. It's not your fault." Still till this day, women got more crap in situations like this, even though he could admit how much he was at fault.

"I guess you're right."

"I have a question for you now?"

"I'm all ears." She lightly kissed his chest, and he wasn't going to admit how that almost sent him over the edge.

"What is this between us? We've dropped the L bomb, I've never spent much time on the phone with anyone…ever, and I've tasted your…."

Bonnie put her hand over his mouth before he could continue. He reacted by lightly nipping her, causing her to pinch his cheek. He knew he was being a little pathetic right now, and he wasn't sure if he could blame it on their lingering connection this time.

"Do we really need a definition?"

"Well, I was just wondering if this is what our friendship is going to entail from now on. Do I still screw other women? Do you still date guys that aren't worthy of you?" Even though he knew he wouldn't let that happen.

The candles in the room violently flaring to life, gave him his answer and he provided a smile.

"Here you go, turning a perfectly nice conversation into something bad." She paused for a moment, but he was still awaiting her response. "Damon, I don't plan on seeing anyone else, and I hope you don't either. But, I want you to understand where I'm coming from. Jeremy took pieces of me and dying several times took even more. I finally got another chance at life and this time I'm not some anchor who wants to end it all every time someone dies and passes through me. And even though we live in a world where a lot of shit does happen…especially to us… I'm trying to change the course of my life if that makes any sense. And I know I told you that I didn't want to hop into a relationship with anyone until I fixed and worked on parts of myself, but my feelings for you are no secret. I just… I don't want to get hurt again… I sure as hell don't want to die again. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to get so wrapped up in you that I forget who I am."

He could understand that, and that was the last thing he would ever want. Been there, done that, and he didn't want them to be the worst thing for each other.

"Well this is the way I see it. I can't promise that I'm not going to hurt you. I don't plan on it, but you know me. You know how I operate. I don't think you need fixing. I know there are things about yourself you want to grow and expand on, but fixing yourself shouldn't be one of them. You're one of a kind." He felt a bit lame expressing all of this too her. He wanted her to think he had some sort of balls, but with Bonnie he really couldn't hold back anything. "And trust me, there are things about my life, even being over a hundred, that I need to grow on. Taking a one month road trip with Stefan isn't going to change me just like that. So, this is my plan. I'm not going to try and change you or pressure you into anything. I'm going to respect you. I'm going to love you while you take the time to grow for yourself."

She touched his lips with hers. "And if for some reason it doesn't go right… do you think we can still manage a friendship?"

He hesitated because honestly, he didn't know. He really didn't want to think about that.

"Yeah…." He kissed her again, and he knew she was aware that there was uncertainty in his response, so he decided to change the subject. "So, was it better than Lockwood?"

She rolled her eyes, and got up off him. "I'm going to go take a shower."

He watched as she retreated to the bathroom and waited until he heard the shower running, before he followed her inside.

It was safe to say that Bonnie enjoyed her day all the way up until night fell and Elena, Stefan, Matt, and Tyler burst through the front door of the boarding house. She had been cuddled into Damon on the couch, watching The Strangers, and as soon as a scene made her jump, they barged in. And of course that almost made her shoot out of her skin.

"Glad to see that you both are alright." Elena spat. "We've been trying to contact you both, but obviously watching a movie is more important that Caroline."

Bonnie chose to ignore her, and looked at the other three. "What happened?"

"Caroline almost killed someone." Stefan stated.

"Yeah, but we stopped her before she could touch a hair on the poor girl's head." Elena added. "Not that you care."

Bonnie's patience with Elena was beginning to run thin.

"I think we need to vervain her, like you guys did me, and force her humanity out."

"We see how well that worked." Damon added. "You didn't turn it back on until I broke wonder boy's neck."

"Standing right here." Matt said.

As Tyler took a seat on the arm rest near Bonnie, he opened a bag of chips he brought in with him. "I think we should just leave her alone. Obviously she's reacting because we're interfering. She said one year right?"

He passed the bag over to Bonnie, but she shook her head, not really hungry. She then noticed the not so pleasant look on Damon's face at her and Tyler's interaction, and knew that he was harping on what she told him last night. She should have just kept that piece of information to herself.

That's when everyone began talking at once, not listening to the other, and deciding what was best for Caroline.

"I really just think we should leave her alone." Bonnie stated for the fifth time.

"That's a stupid decision, which we've already went over, maybe you should pay attention."

That was it. Elena had worked her last nerve. The fire in the fireplace grew, all the candles in the house flicked on, and the furniture began to shake.

That shut everyone up and Bonnie even saw a hint of fear cross Elena's features.

"We are not going to hurt Caroline." She began, looking at everyone. "We're not going to vervain her, tie her up, and force her humanity back on. Does she not get to have a moment? Is it only fair when you get to turn off your humanity Elena? When you get to grieve? Caroline asked us for one year and she said she wasn't going to harm or kill anyone. She's acting out because you all won't leave her alone. Her mom just died. If she wants to be left alone than leave her alone." She then looked at Stefan. "And stop feeling guilty. Caroline wasn't going to keep her emotions on if you would have told her your true feelings. It was going to happen no matter what we said or done, because her choice was already made."

And before she could say anything else, something passed through her, and it almost robbed her of breath. Her eyes caught Damon's for a moment and the predatory gaze he was presenting her with, and the way he mildly licked his lips at her, didn't affect her like it normally would.

She then turned away from everyone. "If anyone touches a hair on her head, you'll have to answer to me."

Bonnie was outside, slamming the door closed with her mind, before she even realized it.

Her keys almost fell out of her hands, as she struggled to open her car door. The feeling that was going through her almost made her cry, and she couldn't help but rest her head on the steering wheel for a moment.

She didn't even realize that her car door had opened until she sat up and noticed Damon sitting down beside her.

"Caroline just killed someone didn't she?"

She nodded.

"What now?"

It would be easy for her to say that Caroline needed to have a trip in the Salvatore holding cell until she turned her emotions back on. She already knew that Elena would be the first one to suggest it. But, because Bonnie did have another plan under her sleeve, she wasn't going to rely on violence. She was just 85% sure that it may not work due to it being her first time and she didn't know if she was capable of something like that yet.

But, she was still going to try.

"I need you to do something for me." Her eyes connected with his. "But I don't want you to ask any questions."

"Yeah, like that's going to happen."

"Damon… please."

She knew he saw the urgency mixed with fear on her face.

"Fine, what is it?"

A/N: Thank you all so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this chapter. A lot went on with Bamon, and I'm sure it probably seemed OOC for them, but we get to see this playful, loving, emotional, sexual side to them that I think is interesting.

Just a few things that I wanted make everyone aware and give a little reminder. 1) I know I've mentioned it before, but this show is following season 6 to a certain extent. Of course there are a lot of things different because of when I started the story and what's been happening in the show. Some things I will add, and some things will have to be changed.

2) I know it may have seemed like Bonnie was being a hypocrite with telling everyone that they should give Caroline a year, and yet she's working on something that could possibly bring her back. But, at the end of the day, she wants the best for Caroline and she doesn't want her to hurt anyone or herself. And what's going to happen may or may not trigger Caroline's humanity, and Bonnie is well aware of that. She's not trying to force her into anything.

3). In earlier chapters some things from the prison world, appeared in present day, and that will be revealed why later down the road.

4). It may have been a little OOC with some of the Bamon conversation, but this is Bonnie & Damon being fully open with one another.

But, anywho, like I said before, I really do hope everyone enjoyed. I'm hoping for chapter 13 to be out very soon.
