Sabrina had never felt so confused in all her life. Normally she had a firm grasp on her emotions, only showing a minimal amount to those who are close to her like her father and her friends. But with all that had happened, the emotions were overwhelming and conflicting. Watching Ash sit up after falling from the sky and having his heart stop had made Sabrina happier than she had been in a long time but she just couldn't shake the fear she felt in her chest. Just looking at Ash now she couldn't help but see the cruel smirk and hear the words of the Ash she had met in his mind.
"Don't worry my dear witch, I won't kill you. No but once I get done punishing you in the most intimate and painful ways that I can, you will beg me to kill you."
an involuntary shiver went through Sabrina's body just at the thought of the words being spoke into her ear. Her thoughts were interrupted by the officer Jenny from before. 'Miss, please go and get your Alakazam to let that man down. Now."
"Oh, uh yes ma'am." Sabrina said in a dazed voice as she headed toward Paul. Clearing her head as she made her way to Paul, it wasn't until she was closer to Paul that she could see the serious expression that was on his face.
"So he's still alive. He just won't die will he." Paul spat coldly, never taking his eyes away from Ash.
"Most would be happy that their friend is alive after all that has happened." Sabrina said while trying to keep calm and keep the emotion from her voice.
"Most people's friend didn't just destroy a tower full of people! Most people's friend didn't kill Charles Goodshow in cold blood!" Paul spat at Sabrina bitterly. 'Now tell me why I should be happy he is alive again, cause I can't think of why I should!"
Paul's anger pushed Sabrina to far, her control over her emotions broke and she lashed out with her psychic powers, closing Paul's mouth and tapping into his mind. " Shut up! You don't know what happened that night you bastard! You weren't there, you have no idea of what the truth is! I was there that night and saw and heard everything that happened!" Sabrina forced her words into Paul's head with such strength that he would have screamed if his mouth wasn't forced shut by her psychic powers. Her strength was betrayed by the pain and tears on Sabrina's face.
Gathering his thoughts, Paul forced a reply back at Sabrina. "Lance told me what happened that night. Goodshow told Ash that Team Rocket killed his mom and when Ash got angry he threw Charles out the window. That is the truth."
Shaking her head in disbelief, Sabrina continued. "You are a fool Paul. Lance fed you that crap to protect the League. He knew if the truth got out Goodshow's and the Leagues names would have been drug through the mud and discredited. It would mean the end of all we know."
"What are you talking about? What truth is Lance keeping from me?" Paul asked suspiciously. Paul respected Lance for his power as a trainer and his position as head of the League but that didn't mean that he trusted him completely.
"Team Rocket did kill Ash's mother but it was the League that framed Ash as the suspect. They made a deal with Team Rocket, Ash takes the fall for the bombing and in return the Region's get six months without any organized crime activity. Ash was sacrificed for six months of peace." Sabrina spoke inside Paul's head. " Now do you understand why Ash did what he did Paul? Yes he was angry but he had every right to be. And now Lance is still trying to cover it all up by sending us to get rid of Ash because he knows that if what Ash knows gets out it would ruin the League. That is the real truth Paul."
Paul felt the pressure leave his lips signaling that Sabrina had released her hold on him but Paul still couldn't say anything. What could he say, his whole way of thinking about what was the truth and what was a lie had been thrown out of whack. What Sabrina had said made a lot of sense and Lance had always been vague on the details about that night and what had happened. Sabrina must have sensed Paul's conflict and decided to help. "Now that you know the whole story, you can decide what is the truth and what you are going to do when the time comes. I am going to let you down now but try not to do anything stupid, okay?"
"Uh Lily, Misty can you get off me please. You are hurting me." Ash said from beneath the two girls who had hugged him. Though he didn't lie about them hurting him, Ash also wasn't comfortable with one of the girls so close to him. He knew that she hadn't betrayed him but that didn't make it any less awkward to be around Misty. Lily being that close was another story altogether.
Realizing that they were hurting Ash, both girls released him and backed away with small blushes on their faces. 'Sorry." They both said in low voices.
Giving both girls a small smile, Ash began to stand up only to wince in pain and fall back. As soon as he was back on the ground, a pink and yellow blur were immediately by his side. "Pika." "Jiggly."
"Pichu, Igglybuff is that you? Did you finally decide to evolve?" Ash asked with a big smile on his face.
"Pi." "Jig." They both nodded with big smiles on their faces.
"That's great you two. I'll give you a hug later, right now I need to fix whatever is wrong with my arm." Ash said as his left arm began to glow with a white light for a moment and when the light stopped he flexed his arm.
"How did you do that? That arm was broken, I checked it myself." Misty asked with an amazed look on her face.
"Just something that I learned in the wild, that's all." Ash said while still looking at his arm. Ash really didn't want to elaborate on what he knew and how he had learned it. These may be his old friends but it had been more than five years since he had spent any amount of time with them. Also he figured that there must be a reason that they are all the way out here in Kalos and it probably wasn't just to sight see. However figuring all that out would have to wait since someone had pushed their way to the front of the priority line.
"Sir, I'm going to have to place you under arrest for the murder of twenty people and the destruction of the Tower of Mastery." Officer Jenny said in an authoritative tone of voice as she pulled out a pair of handcuffs.
"No! You can't take him!" Lily yelled and put herself in front of Ash.
"Miss please move aside or we will be forced to arrest you as well." The Jenny said as she moved forward.
Standing up, Ash put a hand on lily's shoulder. "It's okay Lily, I can handle this." Hesitating for a moment, Lily nodded slowly and stepped to the side with a slightly hurt expression. Turning to the officer with a serious look on his face, Ash began. "I understand officer and I will go with you willingly but there is something I need to fix if you will give me a few minutes."
"This is highly irregular. But as long as you agree to go willingly and wear these cuffs, I can agree to a few minutes. I will be right behind you at all times though, just in case."
"Thank you officer." ash said politely as he held his hands out and Jenny placed the cuffs on him. "I hope you don't mind if my Pokemon help me, especially with these cuffs on."
"No that is fine but what is it you are going to fix if I may ask?"
"How many people did you say were in the tower officer?" Ash asked while ignoring the officers question and walking to the large pile of rubble that used to be the tower.
"Twenty. Why is that relevant?" Jenny spoke with confusion on her face.
Ash turned to her and smirked. "You'll see. Steelix, Tyranitar let's find those people. Pikachu and Jigglypuff you two return for now."
On command Steelix and Tyranitar headed toward the remains of the tower and began digging in the spots that Ash would point at and each time would come up with another body. Ash then had his Pokemon place the bodies in a line on the beach. As the Pokemon continued digging, Ash began examining the bodies to see the damage that had been done. Most were covered in large amounts of blood, had large parts of their bodies crushed and the rare case had their insides pushed out of in unpleasant places. It was truly a gruesome sight to see lined up on a beach, it turned Ash's stomach to see the horror that he had cause. This is what he was capable of, what he could do and what he had done for no reason. The building being destroyed didn't bother him even now, it was nothing but brick and stone. The bodies were different, these were human lives that he not only ended but mutilated all because his hatred had gotten the better of him. He would never be able to make up for all that his hatred had done, it was something he would have to bear and be responsible for.
"Steel!" "Tar!"
The roars from his Pokemon shook Ash from his dark thoughts. Looking down Ash could see all twenty of the victims had been laid out in front of him. "Thanks for the hard work guys, take a rest okay." Ash then returned them as Officer Jenny walked up to him.
"Thank you for retrieving the bodies from the debris. The families will greatly appreciate having the remains to bury."
"I'm not done. Please take a few steps back." As Jenny stepped away from Ash and the bodies, the girls and Gurkinn walked up and stood with her to watch what Ash was about to do. Looking at all the people standing and watching him, Ash became a little hesitant but gave a small smile before he closed his eyes to concentrate. After a moment the white flames covered Ash's body in a brilliant white light that was hard for some of the group to even look at. Officer Jenny moved forward to help Ash but Cynthia grabbed her arm and motioned for her to watch. As they continued to watch, the large white wings sprung forth from Ash's back reaching from one end of the line of people to the other. Taking a deep breath, the glow around Ash brightened and spread to the lifeless bodies in front of him.
The group's eyes widened as they watched the wounds on the dead bodies began healing on their own. The flattened areas seemed to re inflate to the normal size, the blood that was all over the bodies began to vanish and the organs began to go back inside the body and the skin would seal behind it. None of the group could believe their eyes, this shouldn't even be possible but the real shock came when one of the bodies gasped. The body that was dead moments before began sucking in new breath to the newly healed body and even began to sit up. Then the other bodies began doing the same thing as they came back to life.
Once all the people were breathing the glow went away and Ash fell to his knees gasping for breath. His wings had drooped to the ground but were still shining even though they were very dim. "There you go Officer. Now you won't have to give those families just some remains." Ash said between ragged breaths.
"I I don't know what to say. Nothing like this has ever happened before." The Officer stuttered out with an astonished look on her face that was shared by the rest of the group.
"Ash that was incredible. The way you healed all those people, it was like a miracle." Lily said as she looked at Ash, still not going to him because of the flames around his body.
"That was the most amazing thing that I've ever seen." Cynthia said with disbelief evident in her voice.
"Thanks everyone. But I still have one more thing that I need to do before the good Officer takes me away." Ash said calmly as he stood up and pulled his wings in close so he could walk easier.
"But Ash you have healed all the wounded, what more needs done?" Lily asked while moving toward Ash in a comforting way, hoping that he was going to stay.
Smiling toward Lily, Ash spoke softly while choosing his words carefully. "I have another mistake that needs to be fixed, that is if the Officer will allow me to leave for about half an hour."
"I'm sorry but I can't allow that even after all that you have done unless myself or someone trustworthy goes with you. I may consider allowing you to leave for no more than a half hour if you can agree to that." Jenny explained.
"I may know someone who is trustworthy that can accompany Ash on his little trip."
Everyone turned to see Paul standing with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. "You want to go with him mister?" Jenny inquired with a slightly raised eyebrow at the tall purple haired young man.
"It's Paul and no I wasn't referring to myself." Paul said while gesturing toward Sabrina. "Sabrina is a much better choice to go with him. Not only is she trustworthy but she is also a powerful psychic and a Gym Leader."
"Hmm yes she will do, if she agrees that is?"
Sabrina looked toward Paul who nodded in reassurance but that didn't quell the fear that Sabrina felt in her gut. Looking toward Ash she saw the kind smile on his face but images of the cruel smirk kept flashing before her eyes. While she was thinking of what to do, a warm hand held her own shocking her from her thoughts. "I promise that no harm will come to you while you are with me. You have my word." Ash said while looking into Sabrina's eyes.
Sabrina looked back into those chocolate orbs, seeing only warmth there. He truly meant what he said and for now she would trust him. "Okay, I will go."
Smiling, Ash motioned for her to come closer. When Sabrina was next to him, Ash scooped her up in his arms causing Sabrina to blush at the closeness and jealous glares to appear on Lily and Misty's faces. "Hang on." Was all Ash said before pushing off hard with his wings and soaring toward the mountain range.
"Isn't this restaurant lovely dear? Sure beats eating in a log cabin or a Pokemon Center doesn't it?" Yellow said excitedly while looking around the restaurant at the fine table cloths and the small chandelier hanging in the middle of the room.
"Yes dear. I suppose it does." Red replied while looking around the room for a different reason. Since arriving in Luminoise City he couldn't shake this uneasy feeling, like something was about to happen.
"Red dear are you okay? You have been distracted since we arrived, is something wrong?" Yellow asked, concerned at her husbands more than usual lack of interest in anything but Pokemon.
Looking toward Yellow, Red was about to answer and reassure her that everything was fine until a loud explosion was heard from outside the building. Moving quickly Red grabbed Yellow's arm and rushed her outside to see what was going on only to stop as soon as they got out the door. The street outside the restaurant was filled with screaming people running from a large fire that was burning down the street and seemed to be getting bigger. Feeling the need to do something, Red turned to Yellow with a serious face. "I'm going to go help. You keep these two and stay safe, okay?"
Yellow looked down at the two pokeballs Red had given her and nodded before pulling him into a hug. "Be careful dear. I love you."
"I will and I love you too." Red said before he took off toward the fire as fast as his aura enhanced legs would go. In seconds he was close enough to feel the heat of the flames, acting quickly he called out his Gyarados and Poliwrath. "Alright you two, fire your Hydro Pumps on that fire!"
"Gyra!" "Poli!"
With his two Pokemon handling the fire, Red began looking for anyone who had been injured in the explosion or the fire. Searching around what appeared to be the impact zone proved difficult with all the debris that was flung all over and what people he was able to find were already dead. Just as Red was about to give up and head back to his Pokemon, he noticed a Hyper Beam heading for Gyarados. "Gyra move!"
"Rawr!" Gyarados screamed as the powerful beam made impact, smashing the large serpent into a building behind it. Rushing to his Pokemon's side, Red could tell immediately that Gyra was in bad shape from the sneak attack. The last few feet of it's tail was positioned in an odd angle suggesting it was broken and there was some deep cuts that were bleeding heavily. Returning Gyarados to his pokeball, Red then turned his attention to where the Hyper Beam had come from.
"Tal!" The high pitched screech came from within the rays of the setting sun and made it difficult to see what made it. The sun's rays also made it hard to see the second Hyper Beam coming toward Red and Poli until it was almost too late. Dodging the beam was do able but the impact blast caught both of them and blew them back several feet into some of the debris from the first two blasts.
"Argh! Damn it!" Red cursed as he looked at the large gash that some metal had cut into his right arm.
"Poli!"
Red turned to see Poli holding his limp left arm tenderly with his right arm. "Can you move it at all my friend?" receiving a shake of Poli's head, Red nodded in understanding and returned him to his pokeball. Turning back to where the beam came from, the figure who fired it was coming closer and Red could finally see what he was up against. The great black and red bird had it's large blue eyes focused on Red as it got closer and closer. Finally when the giant bird was right in front of Red it made it's attack by swinging one of it's wings that was glowing black at Red who dodged it by inches. Stepping back from the red and black Pokemon, Red felt weak in the knees for a moment. "What's going on? I feel weak and it didn't even touch me. What ever this thing is I need to be careful." Red thought to himself as he flared his black aura around himself to be ready for the fight to come.
The flight to the mountains was a wonderful experience for Sabrina and she didn't want it to end. Being held close to Ash in his strong arms made the cold wind fade away as they soared through the afternoon sky. Sabrina had flown with someone before but it had been on a Pokemon and it was nothing like this. She felt so comfortable and warm in Ash's arms being pressed to his chest, smelling his scent and hearing his steady heartbeat. It made Sabrina blush at how intimate the situation really was and forget her earlier fears about Ash.
Unfortunately the flight came to an end at the back of a long cave that was carved in the mountain side. Setting Sabrina down gently, Ash began to walk toward a wall with a pile of rocks in front of it and released his Metagross. "Metagross please move these rocks aside carefully so we don't cause a cave in. There is a body at the back of this tunnel that I need you to get for me. Think you can do it?" Ash asked with a smirk.
"Meta." Metagross nodded and began using confusion to move the stones out of the way.
"What's back there Ash?" Sabrina asked curiously as she walked up next to Ash.
A deep frown came across Ash's face at Sabrina's words. "It is a Pokemon, a powerful Legendary that very few have ever seen."
"Well what's it called and why is it down here? This seems like a strange place for a Legendary, especially with the rocks piled in front of it." Sabrina asked but regretted it after seeing the hurt in Ash's eye's.
"It's name is Mewtwo," Ash said with emotion in his voice but continued. "And it's down here because of me. This is where I fought it and that hole is where it's body is after I killed it."
Gasping while covering her mouth, Sabrina took an involuntary step away from Ash which didn't go unnoticed by Ash. "I won't make excuses about what happened or why I did it. You have been in my head and seen first hand how dark and evil I can be." Ash said while looking at Sabrina, watching her look at him with a slightly upset expression but her eyes showed the fear that she felt.
Swallowing hard, Sabrina asked the question that had bothered her since Ash woke up. "Ash, what happened to the dark version of you?"
"Nothing happened to him, he is still there but we have come to an agreement of sorts. You don't need to worry about him Sabrina. I promise you, he won't harm anyone anymore." Ash said trying to make Sabrina believe him.
Still hesitant, Sabrina stayed in place not getting any closer to Ash but still unwilling to use her powers to see if he was telling the truth. Sabrina kept her eyes locked on Ash's which were also locked on hers but Ash was slowly moving closer toward Sabrina. Sabrina was so focused on Ash's eyes that she didn't notice how close he was to her until his handcuffed hands softly cupped her face. "I never want to hurt my friends. Whether you think of me as s friend doesn't matter because to me you are and I would rather die than hurt you. I will swear to that."
Ash's words sounded so sweet to Sabrina, no one had ever talked to her like that before with such emotion and meaning behind it. After the wonderful flight here and now hearing Ash's sweet words, Sabrina's body seemed to move on it's own as her head leaned in and she pressed her lips to Ash's. After a moment Ash's lips began to move in unison with hers and then they were gone. Opening her eyes, Sabrina was looking in to Ash's chocolate eyes but could also see a small smile on his face. Just as Sabrina was about to say something she was interrupted.
"Meta."
Ash looked to the side to see Metagross setting Mewtwo's body on the cave floor. Not taking his eyes off Mewtwo's body Ash whispered to himself. "Time to fix my mistake."
Thanks for reading and please review. Also take a look at the poll on my profile, it is about my next story. Thanks again.
