Disclaimer: I don't own Katekyo Hitman Reborn or Shugo Chara!
So, I typed that I was going to make another story. I meant to put that I was NOT making another story and just mixing it with this one. It'll just be a few chapters at the most…I think. Depends, really.
Anyways, I worked hard on this chapter and sorry for the delay, testing was coming up and I'm one of those people who actually study (barf). But, as I was prepared FOR the testing today, guess what?
IT GOT FUCKING CANCELLED FOR THE DAY.
Bitches.
Yeah.
So… Enjoy!
Chapter 57
I was still running with Akira, looking at my watch. Ten minutes, oh, thank god. Of course, this run has only taken a short of our breaths since we have ran a lot more than just this.
I noticed the school coming into view and started slowing myself to a walk, Akira following my lead. We weren't that far from it now. I dug my right hand into my pocket and my left held my school bag over my shoulder. Akira held his with both hands, in front of him, like a proper school girl.
"They're not going to listen to me, aren't they?" I asked, looking at Akira.
"Nope, they will raise Hell and cause havoc," Akira laughed (read: GIGGLED), making his voie a higher pitch, but his tone was light.
"If only you were born like this."
"Shut up, nii-chan." Akira responded, stressing the word, a smile on his lips.
"Nah, I think I'm good, thanks."
"I hate you."
"Actually, you love me."
"Sadly."
"Oh, don't be like that, Lacie~" I drawled, sarcastically. I almost shivered, hearing myself sound like Fran is weird.
"Fuck you."
"Again, no thanks."
Akira glared, huffing, before looking ahead. It was quiet as we walked, enjoying the peaceful morning.
"It's bright here, cheerful," Akira commented.
"It makes me want puke butterflies and rainbows." I responded bluntly.
"That's rather disgusting, don't you think?" A voice asked behind us, making us turn around, facing the person, on guard. "Puking butterflies, that is."
I almost froze, but I stared at him for a moment, face void of emotion and made sure not to slip the act.
"But that means I help bring the only beautiful insect to the world," I nodded, "no matter how nasty."
"You're new," he commented, eyeing me like he knew something.
"Nii-chan," Akira piped up, turning my attention towards him," we need to meet the principle for that, remember?" I faked an annoyed sigh.
"Right, let's go. I'll see you later." I walked away, knowing the guy was still watching us, walking as well, but at a slower pace. After all, it's his school, too, and I knew who he was. I just wasn't expecting to speak to him so soon, I was actually planning on avoiding him. But I now I have his attention, and I know exactly why.
I paused at the entrance, Akira turning around and looking at me curiously. I could sense that he was watching too, silently and subtly, but I knew. I'm top assassin of course.
I looked up at the sky, closing my eyes, sniffing the air. Something was off.
"Nii-chan?"
"Nothing, I thought the air just shifted, come on." But it wasn't true, it was just an excuse. Only one thing ran through my mind as we made our way to negotiate with the principal.
Gunpowder?
"Class, here is our new student, Oozora Akira, do you have any questions for him?"
Most of the hands that flew up were females, which almost made me laugh.
The irony.
"Where are you from?"
"What school did you go to before?"
"Are your eyes and hair natural?"
"Why did you transfer at this term?"
"Do you have any siblings?"
"Okay! Enough! Oozora wil answer whatever questions he chooses and then we can start class."
"France, Namimori Junior High or something, yes, they're natural, because my parents wanted us to, and yes, I have a little sister a few classes over—stay away from her or I will be the reason you die young—and five little siblings that are attending Seiyo," I responded, stuffing my hands in my pockets again. "Can I sit now?"
"Yes, sit next to Tsukiyomi—" you have got to be fucking kidding me. "Tsukiyomi! Raise your hand!"
His hand raised, lazily, might I add, and I walked over and sat in the empty seat.
"Now, we'll be studying bwah bwah-bwah-bwah." Already know this, hah! I folded my arms on the desk and rested my head on them. I don't think I meant to, but my brain was still processing everything that the teacher was saying. My instincts and reflexes heightened as I sensed the familiar movements about to happen.
My hand shot up and caught the projectile, lifting my head and rubbed my eye with my free hand. Several "kyaaa's" sounding out.
"Oozora! First day here and you're sleeping in class! If you're so confident, recite the chorus to Romeo and Juliet!" I stood up, flicking the chalk back to the teacher and yawned, covering it with my hand before lazily looking at the teacher.
"Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of the two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parent's rage,
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend."
Everyone stared as I sat down, resting my chin on my palm, eyes closed. Slowly drifting to sleep again, but my eyes snapped open as the bell rang, blinking sleepily.
"Have a nice lunch," the teacher said. Just as everyone started grabbing their lunches, Ikuto and I stood at the same time. We looked over at each other at the same time and stared, not moving.
The door slams open, making everyone look. I'm pretty sure all the guys had hearts in their eyes and girls glared as the figure ran in…then, y'know…
I got tackled to the ground ("HOLY SHI—GAH!"). Akira's face buried in my chest (he's gonna get it later unless there's a good reason for this) and hugged me, trembling. I swear all eyes, except Ikuto's, were glaring at either me or Akira as we sat on the floor.
"Lacie?" I questioned, pushing him back a bit. He sniffed, looking up with teary eyes, fisting my shirt. "Hey, what's going on?"
"O-onii-chan…" He sniffed. Everyone stared, mouths dropping at the new information. My eyes narrowed, glaring at them.
"Don't you have something better to do?" I snapped. They all scurried away with their friends and lunches, glances directed at us as they whispered. I look over at Ikuto. "What about you?"
"I don't have a lunch, so I can stay, thanks," he replied easily, a smirk on his face, shrugging. I glare harder at him before looking at Akira, eyes softening at his weak state.
He looked so scared, so…
Fragile.
"What's wrong?" I asked gently.
"Girls here are horrible and boys are just creepy," Akira mumbles. My eyes narrow.
Oh, they did not. No, they fucking didn't.
"Come on," I grab my lunch and exit the classroom, sensing Ikuto climb out the window. "Where's your class."
He pointed at a class, I let go of him and handed him my lunch. "Stay, I'll get your lunch."
"What? No—I can—"
"Lacie," I hissed, "you're my famiglia, my family. I am going to protect you." His mouth clamped shut and stayed quiet. . I turned and opened the door, the giggling I had hear disappearing as they all turned to look at me.
I recognize some girls from my class and walked in, closing the door, examining the bags.
"Akira-kun!" A girl squealed, from my class, latching on to my arm. "What are you doing here?" She moved my arm so it was—okay, erm, awkward.
I pried her off, her face forming shock, probably not used to rejection.
"I never gave you permission to call me by my name, you aren't my friend and don't assume you are," I gave them all an annoyed glare.
She trailed her index finger in circles on my arms as she smirked, probably trying to seduce me—okay, this is really just, so wrong.
"We could be friends, maybe even more than friends."
"Not happening," I snapped. Man was I glad I wasn't like them in any way. "Especially since you've all taken a liking to picking on my sister."
She flinched, cowering back, smirk faltering and I took my chance.
"If you ever say anything rude to her, do anything—even indirectly—or even touch a single hair on her head, I will make sure your death looks like suicide."
"Hah," she laughed, smirk back on her face and crossing her arms, puffing out her chest. "You wouldn't want to kill the daughter of a boss who owns a big company." My eyes narrowed even more in anger and I gave off some killer intent.
"Try me." I walked to the desk with Akira's bag and grabbed the lunch, already walking out of the class. "My family can get rid of yours any day and no one will care or say a word on the matter. Mess with my family, you mess with me, and that's something you don't want to do." I slammed the door shut and walked to Akira, giving him the smallest of smiles. "Got your lunch."
"…thank you, Lacie…" I was surprised how small his voice was, I barely caught that.
"Shut up. Famiglia is always important. I have to protect you, or else I'll be alone again." I rest my forehead on his, our hair getting ruffled. I closed my eyes, breathing deeply. "I don't lnow what I would do without my famiglia."
Akira laughed lightly.
"You'd be insane, immature and undisciplined," he whispered. I opened my eyes and gave him an amused smile, sure I broke the mask, but it's only for a little.
"What are you talking about? I'm all of the above even with you guys."
"Pfft, yeah, what was I thinking?"
"But really, let's eat, I'm hungry."
"You're always hungry."
"Technicalities," I waved it off, "it's a good thing that you're basically a housewife."
That earned me a smack to the head with a paper fan I swear he got out of nowhere.
A pair of dark blue eyes stared at the new pair of new students with furrowed eyebrows, eyes looking on with interest and curiosity.
They were strange, the boy with the turquoise hair was basically emotionless, except for the amused smile he had just displayed for the girl. Even when he had snapped at the girls from the other class, his face remained stoic; something not even he himself could accomplish.
The female with the silver hair was nice, not ogling and drooling after him (Ikuto) like most girls.
But only one thing that peaked his interest was the boy, Oozora Akira.
Why? That was simple.
The boy smelled like newborn eggs.
I snapped my head towards the window, eyes narrowed as I saw a person ducking their head behind branches in a tree.
I turned back to Akira, continuing the conversation while packing my shit. After eating, I had felt someone watching me the rest of the day, and Ikuto wasn't in his seat throughout the last classes; it was obviously him.
I was a target now.
The bell was about to ring…and I'm pretty sure all my teachers love and hate me, so they won't care what I do. The principal should have given them the heads up during lunch, about not messing with me.
I have to hurry and get to Akira so we can go up the kids—they better have behaved, or else I'm going mother-Lacie on them.
I finished packing and watch the clock, just watching the seconds tick by.
RIIIIING!
I shot up and darted out of the room, as I was nearing Akira's class, the door opened and he stepped out. As I ran past, I grabbed him around the waist and immediately twirled him so that I was carrying him on my back. He let out a small yelp as he wrapped his arms around my neck. Seeing an open window and a lot of people were in the way, some chatting, the rest having their eyes follow my movements. I made a sharp turn and jumped onto the ledge, staying there for a second to estimate the jump.
It wasn't that far, really.
Well, at least not to me.
And so I jumped.
"AKIRAAAA! YOUUUU ARRREEE SOOOOOOO IIIIINNNNN TRRRROOOOUUUUBLLLLLEEE!" Akira yelled, clutching on to me like his life depended on it, which, at the moment, it did. I chuckled ("You have to be manly." "How do I do that?" "No giggling—" "I don't giggle. I laugh." "As I was saying, no giggling. You have to chuckle." "…how do I do that?" "This will take a while…").
"Aren't I always?"
So, hi guys.
I know I haven't been updating a lot like I used to. That's because of testing. I've been studying like crazy (when I have the energy to) and getting ready for EOIs and the finals coming up.
I was able to squeeze in this chappie for you all, though.
Next chapter will be featuring…how the kids did at school and probable mother-hen-Lacie! :D
Also, Mystery Reviewer, I won't put this story on hiatus. I'm just too dedicated to it. I put my AU on hiatus because I lack to motivation for it at the moment. :/ And as you can see, I didn't ignore your review ;3
I want cotton candy…
If any of you have a snapchat, go ahead and add me! It's cutedork xD
I'll see you guys soon.
Also, I'm gonna dipdye some of my hair purple. Because I want to and it's my favorite color. :b
Also, I have come up with two different ideas for two different stories and idk if I should put them up or…idk.
They're both cross overs.
One is a crossover of Naruto and Bleach and the other is a crossover of KHR and Bleach.
UGH.
The struggle.
I LOVE YOU ALL.
REVIEW PLEAAAASE.
