When the Pajama Jam was over everyone left the Rec Room. As they were walking a voice called out to them.

"Well that was pretty impressive."

Gabriella froze and her breathing picked up. It was like her nightmares were coming to life right before her eyes.

Everyone turned around to see Axel standing there with Dana.

"Axel!" Gabriella gasped.

"What do you want?" Mitchie asked crossing her arms over her chest.

"Simple. I want my daughter." Axel answered and looked to Gabriella. "I saw you singing up there. I'm impressed. But that's no surprise. You do take after me."

"I'm nothing like you!" Gabriella growled.

"Do not speak to me like that young lady. I thought I taught you better manners than that."

Gabriella gulped and stepped back. "Don't come near me. I'll….I'll scream."

"Such a scardy cat." Axel laughed. "I'm not going to touch you."

"You better not." Troy said. He pulled Gabriella behind him and glared at Axel.

"Oooo and who is this brave little boy."

"Names Troy Bolton, Gabriella is my girlfriend and I will not let you hurt her more than you already have."

"Oh, wow, I didn't see that one coming. I didn't think anyone would ever fall in love with you." Axel said to Gabriella. "Well I guess he's not really in love with you. He just wants one thing from you."

"Shut up!" Gabriella cried.

"I love Gabriella, she knows that. Why don't you go back to your side of the lake and leave us alone." Troy growled.

"Troy is right, you shouldn't even be here. You not allowed to leave a ton of campers alone." Mitchie glared, moving to stand next to Troy and block view of Gabriella.

"My campers aren't babies like you guys. They don't need babysitters 24/7."

Mitchie rolled her eyes. "Just go back to the Ego Factory where you belong. If you ever bother Gabriella again I'm telling Brown."

"OOoooo I'm so scared." Axel mocked. "Brown doesn't scare me."

"Axel just leave! Now!" Shane said with a growl.

"Fine, But I'll be back Gabriella." Axel took Dana and the two of them left.

Everyone turned to Gabriella. She was shaking and panting. Tears were streaming down her cheeks. She saw everyone looking at her and she dove into Troy's arms, hiding her face.

Troy hugged her tightly and rubbed her back kissing her head. "I'm right here. You're safe. You're safe." He told her over and over again. "Breathe, Baby, Breathe."

"He's gone?" Gabriella whimpered.

"He's gone, Baby. You're safe." Troy soothed.

Gabriella started to calm down.

"Don't worry, that's the last time you'll see Axel. I think we scared him off." Shane said.

But deep down, everyone knew that wasn't true. Axel was not a man who scared easily and they all knew it.

The next morning Mitchie was up bright and early preparing to help her mom in the kitchen. As she walked in she overheard a phone conversation between her mom and who she could only guess was her dad.

"Steve that's awful news. I'm so sorry about your store. Is there nothing to be done?"

Mitchie stayed quiet to listen. Last summer her father had opened up his own hardware store, she thought it was doing well, but now she was starting to think differently.

"Wow, a job offer? That's great….they would pay how much? Steve that's….What's the catch?"

Mitchie was curious when she saw her mother frown. "Oh…I see…I'll talk to Mitchie about it. In the meantime keep trying to get business at your store and keep me posted?"

Connie sighed. "I love you too, Honey. I'll call you later." She hung up.

"Mom, what was that? Is Dad ok?" Mitchie asked.

Connie sighed and turned to her daughter. "Business is slow. If it doesn't pick up again he might lose the store. If he does we will have to move."

"Move?" Mitchie asked.

Connie nodded. "He has a job offer, paying him a lot more than he's making now."

"Oh…"

"Look nothing is set in stone. It's just ideas. Your dad is working very hard to get more business. We may not move at all."

"What if I wanted to move?" Mitchie asked.

"What?"

"What if I wanted to move?"

"Why would you?"

Mitchie shrugged. "I have no friends back home. School is more like a torture chamber than a place of education. I have nothing for me there. I mean…as long as we can keep coming to Camp Rock I don't care where we move."

"Really?"

Mitchie nodded. "I want us to move….I hope we do move…but I don't want Dad to lose his job."

"I understand, Honey. I will keep that in mind. Now let's get cooking. We're making pancakes."

"Yummy!" Mitchie smiled. She and mother got to work making breakfast.

After she was finished she took out the trash before she planned on meeting up with her friends.

As she threw the bag into the dumpster she heard yelling. She followed the sound and saw Gabriella and Axel, but Gabriella was alone this time.

She was cowering in fear of him, her arms were up and in front of her face in defense. She was shaking so bad she could barely stand.

Mitchie rushed over to her. "Hey Axel back off now!"

Gabriella quickly ran and hid behind Mitchie.

"I thought I told you if you ever bothered Gabriella again I was going to tell Brown?"

"I thought I told you Brown doesn't scare me." Axel laughed.

"I'm not kidding Axel, go back to your side and once I'm sure you're away from Gabriella I'm going right to Brown."

"Go ahead. Gabriella is such a baby! I haven't even touched her and she cowers away from me. Brown will see that's she just a baby looking for attention."

"Brown will see the truth and he'll make sure you never bother Gabriella again. Gabriella isn't a baby, you're just a big bully who gets pleasure out of seeing people cower in fear of you."

"Whatever. I know you're only defending her because of pity. The only reason you're even her friend is out of pity."

"That isn't true. Gabriella knows that. Get out of here now, before I scream."

Axel laughed. "Scream, go tell Brown everything. I don't care. Brown can't help you. Gabriella is legally my daughter, he can't stop that."

With that Axel walked away and Mitchie glared, but then let out a calming breath and turned to Gabriella. "Are you ok? Did he hurt you?"

Gabriella shook her head. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Come on let's go to breakfast."

"I want Troy." Gabriella whispered.

"I'm sure he's inside getting breakfast. Come on, I'll keep you safe."

Gabriella smiled softly and nodded. Mitchie smiled too, she knew Gabriella's smile was a small sign of trust. It wasn't much, but to Mitchie it meant the world. Gabriella was finally starting to trust her.

They went inside and Gabriella ignored the food line and quickly went over to Troy.

"Hey, Baby Girl…" He greeted but then frowned when she buried her face into his arm. "What's wrong?"

"Axel decided to come visit her again today." Mitchie said.

Troy growled. "I hate that guy."

"I do too, but I stopped him before he could touch her or hurt her worse."

"Thank you, Mitchie. Do you think we should report him? I mean is he even allowed to be doing this?"

"No! We're not telling anyone." Gabriella whimpered.

"Gabriella, it might make him go away." Troy told her.

"No. Nothing can make him go away! I don't want anyone to know about this!"

Mitchie sighed. "If things get worse I think we should, but for now he's only made two attempts. Let's just set up a plan and make sure one of us is always with Gabriella that way if he comes around again we can stop him in his tracks. If he goes too far we report him."

"So our plan is for me to never leave Gabriella's side the whole time we are here?" A huge wide smirk appeared on Troy's face. "I think I can do that."

Gabriella giggled softly and looked up. "You just made his dreams come true."

Mitchie laughed. "Happy to help."

"But to be serious I think that's a good idea."

"Ok, and Gabriella you need to promise us that you'll tell us if he ever comes over to you if you are ever alone."

Gabriella nodded. "I couldn't hide it even if I wanted to. Just seeing him causes panic attacks."

"You didn't have one just now." Mitchie said.

"You came before it could get bad. But just seeing him and I feel like I can't breathe. The longer he is around the worse it gets."

Mitchie nodded. "We will do our best to make sure it doesn't get that far."

"Thanks."

Gabriella smiled feeling better knowing her friends would be with her if Axel ever came around again. Axel terrified her, and what scared her worse was she still hadn't heard from her mother, which made her think maybe she had planned this from the beginning.

She was thrown from her thoughts by Troy.

"Shane was telling about this really pretty spot over by the lake, if you go at around sunset it's really romantic. So how about you and I on a date this weekend?"

Gabriella smiled widely and nodded. "Yes!"

"All right!"

"I've been to where you're talking about. It is really romantic." Mitchie nodded. "Shane takes me there all the time."

"Axel won't be able to see us, will he?" Gabriella asked.

"No, it's too far away."

Gabriella nodded. She was actually starting to enjoy herself, she just hoped it lasted.

That weekend Troy and Gabriella were over by the lake. Troy had set up a small picnic with her favorite foods.

"I know Mitchie's mom is the cook and her food is amazing but I thought you might like something different." Troy said.

"How can I resist your outstanding peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?" Gabriella giggled.

"You can't." he winked.

She giggled and took another bite of her sandwich. She was in a good mood today considering Axel had come around the rest of the week and even just a few hours before the date. Someone was always with her to keep her calm so she didn't have a panic attack.

"For dessert I have your very favorite, I had Mrs. Torres help me with these."

Gabriella's eyes lit up. "Chocolate covered strawberries?"

"Hand dipped myself." Troy smiled.

"Yes! Troy you're the best."

Troy chuckled. "I know." He winked again making her blush and giggle.

Suddenly she turned serious. "Troy, I'm being serious. You are the best. You spent money you've been saving for a new car just to come spend a summer with me at some camp. That means more to me than you could ever understand. I don't know what I would do if you weren't here to help me with this Axel situation."

"I love you, Gabriella it's as easy as that. I would do anything for you."

"I love you too."

They shared a kiss and pulled away. She moved from her spot so she was laying back against Troy and he had his arm wrapped around her. They ate in silence for a few minutes before Troy broke it.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"I'm not really sure how to phrase it but um…well I just…those panic attacks, the ones you get when Axel is around, you don't seem surprised by them, even the first time."

"I'm not." Gabriella sighed. "I've been having them since I was little."

"Really?" Troy gasped.

"Not long after the physical abuse started I started getting panic attacks whenever he would come near me."

"Did you tell your mom?"

Gabriella shrugged. "She thought I was being over dramatic and looking for attention."

"Gabriella…."

"I don't want to talk about this anymore, Troy."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."

"They went away as soon as we left Axel. I haven't had one since he showed up here."

Troy just nodded. He kissed her head and hugged her close. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked.

"It's ok. Let's just change the subject."

"Ok, are you ready for dessert?"

Gabriella nodded. "But first I have to use the restroom. Don't touch the strawberries till I get back."

"I wouldn't dream of it." Troy teased her.

She giggled and moved from his arms and stood up.

"I'll be right back." She quickly rushed away to the nearest bathroom.

Gabriella finished her business and washed her hands. As she stepped back outside she heard a voice behind her.

"Gabriella, finally you're alone."

Gabriella turned around and gasped, suddenly feeling like a weight was on her chest. "Axel!"

Axel stood there smirking. "I knew if I waited around long enough I'd get you alone. Which is good because I have a lot to tell you. So much is about to happen I wanted to tell you about."

Gabriella gulped and gasped for air. She was paralyzed with fear and couldn't move. She started to shake as Axel walked closer to her….
