I own nothing

Beast Boy and Aqualad stood in the center of the ring, staring each other down. Beast Boy crouched a little and leaned back with his fists up in the Daimao stance, surprising the young Atlantean. "Where did you learn that?" he asked with a smirk, "Finally watch one too many kung-fu movies?"

"I've been training," Beast Boy said sternly. "I'm the last person to underestimate right now."

"Really now?" Aqualad said, putting up his fists as the announcer hurried off the stage. "I seem to remember beating your ass every time we had a problem."

"That was then," Beast Boy said, "and this is now."

Aqualad chuckled. "Okay."

"Begin!" the announcer exclaimed.

Aqualad stepped forward and before he could react, Beast Boy planted a gorilla-sized fist into his stomach. Aqualad hopped back, wincing at the sudden pain in his stomach. "What the hell? Since when has he been able to hit so hard?" Aqualad raised his hands and sent a palm strike into the air, dousing Beast Boy with a blast of sea water. Beast Boy started walking forward, barely even flinching from every blow. Beast Boy backed Aqualad up to the edge of the ring and Aqualad flipped over his head, kicking the green boy off the side. Aqualad didn't even look back. "Looks like you weren't so tough after all." He turned around, expecting to see Beast Boy there.

"I warned you," Beast Boy's voice said from behind him. Aqualad turned around, seeing the bottom of Beast Boy's shoe. Aqualad barely dodged and threw a punch, connecting with Beast Boy's cheek. Beast Boy shook it off and slapped Aqualad across the face with a lion's paw so hard it sent him tumbling out of the ring.

"Beast Boy is the victor!" the announcer shouted. "The underdog of the Teen Titans beat a slugger for Young justice! What an amazing turn of events, folks!"

Beast Boy walked off the stage and back into the waiting room. "You're next, Blue Beetle."

Blue Beetle's eyes widened. "What?"

"Piccolo," Gohan said, "Beast Boy's completely different when he fights now! What did you do to him?"

"The same thing I did to you," Piccolo said, "just a little less throwing."

Gohan laughed. "Well, it certainly paid off." He turned to Beast Boy. "Good job, man!"

Beast Boy grinned. "Thanks, dude!"

"Eighteen and twenty five!" the announcer called.

Gohan smirked. "Kid Flash," he said, leaving the room. "We're up."

Kid Flash looked at his ball, reading "eighteen." He fazed out, reappearing next to Gohan on the stage. "How did you know my number?"

"That was a little trick I picked up during my training," Gohan said.

"It's not gonna matter if you can't hit me," Kid Flash said, bouncing on his toes. "I move faster than the speed of sound."

"I'll just have to keep my guard up," Gohan said confidently. He didn't even fall into a stance.

"Begin!" the announcer shouted. Kid Flash took the initiative, starting with a super fast punch. Gohan caught it and sent one back, blowing Flash halfway across the stage. The crowd gasped at the sudden counterattack against the Flash, but he was back on his feet in seconds. He felt the bruise on his cheek.

"Lucky shot!" Kid Flash said, fazing out. Gohan fazed out as well, meeting Flash in the center for a furious exchange of blows. Flash was the only one getting hurt by the blows; Gohan barely noticed he was being hit. Flash took a punch to the face, sending him spiraling toward the edge of the ring. Gohan fazed out and raised his leg for a heel strike. Kid Flash fazed out, reappearing behind Gohan with his leg cocked back for a kick. Gohan fazed out again with his fist cocked back. He sent the punch, his eyes widening as it passed right through him. The counterattack passed right through Gohan and Kid Flash whipped around, sending a spin kick that passed through a second afterimage. He turned back around, taking a kick from Gohan to the chin. Kid Flash spiraled into the air and Gohan pursued, beating Kid Flash on all sides. Gohan reappeared above Kid Flash with his fist cocked back. Kid Flash kicked upward, passing through him again. Gohan kicked him in the spine, sending him crashing into the stands.

"No way!" Batgirl exclaimed as the crowds erupted in cheering. Gohan was declared the winner and he walked back to the waiting room.

Robin smirked. "Are you done underestimating us?" He pulled out a communicator. "You could just take this now and be done with it."

"Not likely," Batgirl growled. "This is nowhere near over!"

The next two numbers were called. Starfire and Miss Martian walked toward the exit of the room. "Good luck, Starfire," Gohan said.

"I do not need luck," Starfire said confidently, briskly walking to the stage.

Miss Martian grinned at her opponent. "May the best woman win!"

Starfire said nothing back and fell into stance. The announcer started the fight, scurrying off the stage. The two aliens clashed, Starfire immediately going all out. Starfire landed blow after blow, savagely beating her opponent with all her might. "Hey!" Gohan shouted, shocked like the other Titans at Starfire's behavior. "At least give her a chance!" Starfire looked at Gohan for a brief second, allowing Miss Martian to knock her across the stage with a punch to the face. The roles reversed, Starfire being nearly helpless as Miss Martian let out her full rage on the Tamaranean. Starfire caught a punch and brought the fight to a standstill as they tried to knock each other off balance, kicking and sweeping in the center of the ring. Miss Martian ended the scuffle and kicked Starfire in the mouth, knocking her back. Starfire rubbed the blood off her lip and let out a battle cry, charging at the martian. Miss Martian grit her teeth and met Starfire with equal force, both fighters resorting to using energy blasts. They hopped back and spiked their auras, raising small pieces of broken cement from the arena. Miss Martian's eyes glowed red and she stepped forward, firing two red beams of energy from her eyes. Starfire fired a green wave of energy from her hand, bringing both fighters to halt in their first beam struggle.

"Wow, people!" the announcer exclaimed. "As if this fight couldn't get any more exciting, both contestants have mastery over energy! The first energy clash happened in Tenkaichi twenty one between Son Goku and Jackie Chun, and ever since then, fighters from all over the world have exhibited some form of chi control!"

Starfire was losing the clash, watching in fear as the red beams came closer and closer to her hand. She fazed out, letting Miss Martian's beams hit the bricks. "Starfire!" Gohan exclaimed, knowing what she was going to do. "No!"

Starfire appeared crouched in front of the martian girl with a green ball of chi in her hand. She shot upward, smashing the ball of chi into Miss Martian's chin. The green woman's vision shook as the impact was felt. She stumbled back, seeing black spots in her vision. Starfire fired a wave of energy into Miss Martian's chest, sending her spiraling out of the ring. Gohan growled at his friend and fazed out, catching the unconscious martian before she hit her head on the stands. Starfire was announced the winner and she flew back to the waiting room with Gohan following her. "Starfire! Why would you do that?! You know that's not honorable!"

"I won, didn't I?" Starfire scoffed.

"We're going to have a talk later," Gohan said sternly, handing Miss Martian to Superboy. "I apologize for my friend," he said.

Starfire rolled her eyes and leaned up against the wall with her arms folded. Piccolo glanced at her forehead, briefly seeing an outline of the curly "M" in the center. "Gohan," Piccolo said. "We'll need to talk first."

Gohan stared at the Tamaranean for a second, not feeling anything from her at all. That alarmed him the most; her chi field was like static. The next two numbers were called and Cyborg and Blue Beetle went to the stage. "Begin!" the announcer exclaimed. Blue Beetle took to the sky with his large wings immediately, shocked when the titan followed him into the air.

"You can fly now?" Blue Beetle said, throwing the first punch.

"Yup!" Cyborg exclaimed, dodging the punch and throwing his own. "I can also do this!" he landed the first punch into Blue Beetle's stomach. Rockets jutted out of where Cyborg's hand met his wrist. "Rocket Punch!" he exclaimed, detaching his fist from his arm like a missile.

"Trunks," Gohan said. "You fitted him with Android modifications?"

Trunks nodded. "He can even play Angry Birds on his hand now."

"Very funny," Gohan said bluntly.

Blue Beetle pushed Cyborg's hand away before taking another Rocket Punch to the face from his other fist. The first Rocket Punch returned to his arm as the second one hit Blue Beetle repeatedly, keeping him stunned in the air. Blue Beetle caught a punch and fired a red energy beam into the hand, forcing it back onto Cyborg's arm. They stopped in the air, catching their breath. "How do you like that?" Cyborg asked.

"That's cool and all," Blue Beetle said, "but let me show you some real firepower." The armor on his arms morphed into two large energy cannons that glowed red with energy. "Dance." A large volley of chi blasts flew Cyborg's way. Cyborg started to dodge, but as Blue Beetle got closer, he found it increasingly difficult. A red blast hit him in the leg, sending him spinning to the stage. Cyborg stood up, not being able to feel his leg. He looked up, seeing another wave of energy blasts heading his way. He flew into the air and fazed out, reappearing to Blue Beetle's side with his leg cocked back. "Bleed!" Blue Beetle exclaimed, vanishing and reappearing behind Cyborg with a cannon at his back. Cyborg whipped around, throwing the metal kick into the side of his head. "Bleed," Blue Beetle said again, reappearing on the ground. Cyborg let out a battle cry and charged toward him with his fist cocked back, slamming into a blue bubble of energy. Cyborg bounced off of it and slid to the edge of the ring.

"Get up, Cyborg!" Beast Boy exclaimed.

Cyborg slowly rose to his feet, his arms feeling suddenly very heavy. Blue Beetle raced toward him, ready to deliver the finishing blow. "Move, Cyborg!" Gohan shouted.

Cyborg jumped over Blue Beetle and aimed his sonic cannon at the back of his head. "Look out!" Supergirl warned.

"Bleed," Blue Beetle vanished, reappearing behind Cyborg.

"Gotcha!" Cyborg said, whipping around and smashing a metal fist into the side of Blue Beetle's head. The blow knocked him out cold. Cyborg and Blue Beetle hit the ground, Cyborg landing on his feet. The announcer counted to fifteen and declared Cyborg the winner. "Booyah!" he shouted, bringing the crowd into an uproar. He hopped off stage and walked back to the waiting room. "What is up, playa!" he exclaimed, joining Beast Boy in a long, complicated handshake.

The announcer called the next numbers, and Raven and Zatanna went to the stage. "Mages collide?" Raven said, assuming the Crane stance. "This should make things interesting."

"This battle will only take me one word," Zatanna said, pointing her wand at Raven.

"Begin!" the announcer exclaimed from the grass.

Raven charged. "Llaberif!" Zatanna exclaimed, blasting fire at the demon spawn. Raven hopped back and whipped around in a circle, dispelling it with water. "Kcor!" Zatanna shouted, ripping out chunks of the arena and throwing at Raven. Raven fazed out, sending an electrically charged punch to her stomach. Zatanna stumbled back, taking a kick to the chin. She fell to the ground and quickly hopped to her feet again. "That's weird," she said, pointing her wand again. "You haven't said Azarath Metrion Zinthos."

Raven dodged a black beam of energy and kicked Zatanna's hand, sending the wand skittering across the stage. "I don't need it for the little stuff anymore."

"Little stuff?" Zatanna said, kicking Raven in the face. Raven flipped back and crossed her arms as a blast of cold chilled her body to the core. She lowered her arms, taking an energy-enhanced punch to the face. Raven rolled back and lunged forward, dodging a kick by taking off into the sky. "Ylf!" Zatanna exclaimed, creating a mini tornado under her strong enough to carry her into the sky. "You're not getting away from me! Nonnac Gicam!" she shouted, firing a wave of white energy that passed right through Raven. Her eyes widened. "Dleif Ecrof!" she shouted, creating a yellow bubble of energy around her.

"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven exclaimed, entering the force field in an intangible form. Zatanna shouted another that turned her into the same form and they clashed inside the bubble, throwing fists and kicks and chucking spells. They fired a beam of black energy at each other, bringing the clash to a halt. Their auras dispelled the bubble. The center of the clash exploded, blowing both of them away. They caught themselves in midair and turned tangible again. They charged toward each other, sending a variety of spells as they came within hand-to-hand proximity once again. Zatanna caught both of Raven's fists and her eyes turned gold.

"You are now my puppet," Zatanna said, turning Raven's eyes gold as well. "You will fly out out the arena now."

Raven's eyes turned red with two black, spinning tomoe in the pupil. She smirked. "Will I? Azarath Metrion Zinthos!"

Raven seemed to be growing larger and larger by the second. The sky turned into a deeper blue. "What kind of spell is that?" Raven's giant hand grabbed Zatanna's body and whipped her out of bounds. When Zatanna looked back up, Raven was her regular size, standing in the center of the ring. "What happened?" she said groggily, rubbing the side of her head.

"You got a taste of my newest illusion magic," Raven said. The announcer declared her the winner and a goth crowd near the front of the stands lifted a banner with Raven's face and hood on it. She did a small a bow before returning to the waiting room.

"Raven!" Beast Boy exclaimed. "That was awesome! You were all like shoom and she was all like bwah and you were all like-"

"Thanks," Raven said bluntly, smiling under her hood.

Wonder Girl and Ravager fought next, Wonder Girl winning the match with power and speed that surprised most of the Z-Fighters. Ravager entered the waiting room first, holding her shoulder in pain. "Ravager," Trunks said, "what are you going to do about The Master now? If you're out of the tournament, then-"

"This tournament is only a ploy," Ravager said bitterly. "It's only a step in his plan; I know it."

"What plan?" Batgirl said, stepping in between Trunks and Ravager.

"It's none of your business," Robin said, "not until you become a Titan."

Batgirl scowled. "If that's the case, then I'll never know."

Ravager caught Slade staring at her. "What are you looking at?" she snarled.

"Your pitiful face under the mask," Slade said. "I enjoyed watching your ass get handed to you."

"I'll enjoy watching it happen to you," Ravager spat back.

Slade swelled with anger and fazed out, reappearing in front the young warrior. "All of you better learn this now:I have been bestowed with a power greater than any of you. After this is over, I will not hesitate in killing you."

While the rest of the room was disturbed, Gohan and Vegeta laughed.

"You dare mock me, boy?" Slade said to Gohan. "Do you forget what I did to you?"

"You made me wear a stupid jumpsuit," Gohan said, "then made me defeat you with your own tool. You're the real pity here." Slade grabbed Gohan by the collar and raised his fist. "Go on," Gohan said. "Take the first hit."

"Leave him alone, son of Kakarot," Vegeta said, "before he starts to cry."

Slade let Gohan go and walked back to his corner of the room with Terra. She stomped over to Vegeta and looked him in the eye. "You don't know who you're messing with. I could kill you myself with his training, you spiky-haired dickwad!"

Vegeta scoffed. "Poor girl," he said. "Ignorance truly is bliss, isn't it?" Terra whipped a stake of rock at Vegeta from the wall of the room. Vegeta burnt it to a crisp before it could even touch him. "Do not test me, girl."

"Do not call me girl!" Terra ordered.

"Fine," Vegeta said, folding his arms. "Go back to your master before I throw you there myself, insolent child."

"I've beaten people much bigger than you," Terra said.

Vegeta smirked. "I've beaten planets."

"Terra!" Slade shouted. "Come here, now!"

"You're dead," Terra said, walking back to Slade.

"You're funny," Vegeta said, making Terra's fists clench.

Krillin defeated Batgirl swiftly, showing the new fan base that he was no one to take lightly. Krillin hopped off stage and helped Batgirl to her feet after his victory was concrete. "So you taught Robin?" she asked him.

"Yeah," Krillin said, "my friend Yamcha and I did. I wouldn't mind teaching you and some of the other Young Justice guys some moves too- by the way, I would pull out of the bet. Just for now, at least, it's not fair that you guys had to fight all of the Z-Fighters too."

"No," Batgirl said. "Our ace in the hole has yet to be truly challenged."

"Alright," Krillin said, "but don't say I didn't warn you."

Blackfire and Roshi fought next, dragging the battle out between sheer power and skill. Blackfire eventually won by appealing to Roshi's naughty side, promising to strip for him if he let her win. She lied, but what really disappointed the other Z-Fighters was that Roshi was more upset about not seeing any boobies. Slade and Supergirl battled after them, dangerously hurting Young Justice's morale after Slade's close, vicious victory that required Gohan, Trunks, and Superboy to stop Slade before he killed her because she hurt him badly. All that was left was Tien and Yamcha, a rematch both fighters had been waiting for ever since Goku died. "Look at that," Yamcha said, heading to the door with his best friend and rival. "I get to go to the next round."

"We'll see about that," Tien said, following Yamcha to the stage. Old fans who had witnessed their fights in the past and new ones who had heard about it went crazy, deafening the arena with wild applause and cheering. Sections of the stands wore green and yellow while other sections wore orange and blue. They were fan favorites with a long history in the tournament and the nostalgia hitting both fighters made them smile in spite of the true reason why they were here.

"This," Gohan said, "is going to be good."

"Your teacher is going down," Robin told Raven with a smirk.

"He's going down to pick Yamcha out of the grass," Raven said back, also with a smirk.

Yamcha fell into his original Desert Bandit stance, eliciting screams from the girls of his large following. Tien assumed the traditional Crane style stance. "I'm gonna go real slow for you, old man."

"Who are you calling old?" Tien said. The announcer started the fight and Yamcha wasted no time in taking the initiative, throwing the first series of blows. The fight was already the fastest this year had seen as their arms eventually turned into blurs. Yamcha tried a kick and was blocked, Tien tried a flash of palm strikes and was dodged although he did gain some ground. Yamcha leaped one hundred feet into the air and spiked his white aura.

"Descending Wolf's Paw!" Yamcha exclaimed, dropping a heel kick.

"Crane's Wing!" Tien said, forming an aura shield around his arms and blocking the kick. Tien pushed Yamcha away and hopped back, falling into a more offensive stance. He charged into a slide kick and hopped into the air, landing behind Yamcha with his fists to his sides. Yamcha sent an elbow strike back and whipped around, sparking another furious clash. More blows were exchanged this time around as the attacks started to get faster. They took a blow to each other's chins and hopped back. They sent kicks to each other's mouths, sending them both barreling back to the edge of the ring. Tien was up first and charged, forcing Yamcha to roll out of attacks until he sent a kick to Tien's chin and was back on his feet. Tien sent a kick to Yamcha's chin, sending him flying into the air.

"Oh my!" the announcer exclaimed. "Tien better look out! We all know what happened last time he tried this!"

Tien followed Yamcha into the air and the duo vanished, leaving shock waves around the sky marking where they were. Yamcha ended the air battle with an elbow strike to the top of Tien's head. Tien dropped to the center of the arena and hopped back, dodging a heel kick. "Wolf Fang Fist!" Yamcha exclaimed, moving toward Tien with such speed and ferocity that it looked like he was a charging wolf.

Tien's eyes widened as he felt the sudden spike in battle pace, inching him toward the edge of the ring. Yamcha caught a counterattack with fingers feeling as sharp to Tien as claws. Yamcha swiped at Tien's face, drawing blood from Tien's cheek with the strike. Tien popped Yamcha in the mouth, making Yamcha bleed from his lip. They both let out a battle cry and clashed again, even more furiously than the last. The teenagers in the waiting room could only watch in awe at their technique, ferocity, and precision working together in such dangerous harmony. Some of the fresh losers of the tournament started to wonder even if they did make it to the next round, would they stand a chance against either of these two? Yamcha and Tien caught each other's kicked and jumped back, Yamcha quickly taking off again. He fazed out, reappearing above Tien to batter his arms with kicks. He spun around, slamming his heel into Tien's head. Tien cartwheeled to his feet and glared at Yamcha, quickly joining him in laughter. "I guess you still have something left in there."

"You're not to crooked yourself," Yamcha said. "Are you ready to get started?"

"Yeah," Tien said, spiking his aura immensely. "I'm done warming-" he blocked a punch. "Cheap shot!" he said, clashing with his friend once again.

"You should have been ready," Yamcha said, continuing his attack.

"I just thought you would have told me about the massage," Tien said, chuckling at Yamcha's annoyed expression.

"That wasn't funny twenty one years ago," Yamcha said.

"It's still better than your one-liners," Tien said.

"I got ten chicks off of that," Yamcha said. "All you could get was Launch."

"Ten underage chicks," Tien said, "and Launch has two personalities that act completely different, so I wouldn't call 'just Launch' a loss." He landed three punches and a kick to Yamcha's chest as Yamcha hit Tien's leg. Yamcha was still knocked back ten feet.

Yamcha held his chest in pain for a moment. "I thought you had a higher threshold than that."

"You've been training," Tien said, rubbing his leg.

"You've been getting soft," Yamcha said, drawing his hands to his side. "Kame..."

Tien's eyes widened.

"Hame..." Yamcha continued. "Ha!" he shouted, firing the blue wave of death.

Tien brought his fists up to his face and extended his index and middle fingers on each hand. "Ki Blast Cannon!" he exclaimed, bouncing the Kamehameha back at Yamcha.

Yamcha's eyes widened in shock as his own attack hit him, sending him tumbling out of the ring. "Oh shit," Yamcha said, looking at his torn vest. "Dude! You know how long it takes for me to make these! Where did you even learn that technique?"

Tien's victory was announced. "There you have it for today, folks!" the announcer exclaimed. "Tien wins by ring-out for a classic rematch the gods of chance allowed us to watch today! Now we truly know who is the best of the best! Join us again tomorrow to see the best of the best face off for their spots in the electric eight, the quarter finals! Goodbye for now!"

Tien walked off stage, laughing at his friend. "Master Roshi. I brought him Playboy in exchange for energy techniques."

Yamcha turned to the sullen martial arts legend behind the glass in the waiting room. "You mean Hustler wasn't good enough?"

"She said I was gonna see both of them," Roshi mumbled under breath.
