(Few Hours Later)
(With Bronté)
She couldn't describe how uncomfortable she was, Bronté had been lying on that cold, mountain floor for hours. Charles was bad company because he didn't talk, no one word for hours. "sssoooo" started Bronté, trying to get a conversation going, Charles didn't look at her, "how did you get to become one of Suliman's idiots"
she was hoping that that would at least get him to shout at her to make things a little more interesting, but he said nothing. Bronté could see that Suliman was further away in the cave with men surrounding her. Suliman turned towards Bronté and Charles, she could see her nod and before she knew it, Bronté was being pulled to her feet and pushed in Suliman's direction. Bronté fought against Charles, but he punched her in the stomach and carried her.
Bronté felt weak and could barely keep her eyes open from the pain.
"You shouldn't fight this one Bronté, he is one of my best men, and he does what he is told, whether it means hurting the victim" said Suliman, Bronté laughed through her pain,
"does it look like I care, I'm going to kill all of you anyway" she said, Suliman began glaring at Bronté
"Charles" she said, Charles nodded and threw Bronté on the ground and pulled her hair, "you will behave, I have the upper hand here, I still need your power so sadly I can't put you out of your misery" Bronté spat onto Suliman's face. Suliman slapped Bronté and wrapped her hand around her neck, "I am so tempter to allow Charles to beat the crap out of you, I won't even care if he rapes you" but Bronté still wouldn't back down,
"do your worst" she said, Suliman smiled and looked at Charles,
"she's yours" Charles nodded and pulled Bronté by her hair across the cave, Bronté screaming from the pain in her head.
"Let go of me you bastard, I'll kill you" she screamed, but Charles didn't stop, instead he threw her against the cave walls, and punched her in the stomach. Bronté screamed as the rocks hit against her back, she collapses on the hard ground and looked up to see Charles smirking,
"you are going to wish you were never born" he said before he wraped his large hand around her neck and lifted her up in the air. Bronté was struggling for air as she watched Charles pull out a small knife and started cutting her shirt into pieces, watching him laugh. Until fire came in front of Bronté and burned Charles to ash, Bronté was almost unconscious as she fell to the ground, but was met my warm arms instead, gently putting her on the ground. She looked at her saviour to see a masked figure, he stared at the other men of Suliman's group.
"So the fire walker has finally shown himself, I was wondering when you show up, you are rumoured to live rounds these parts, but you won't be taking that girl, she is a big piece in my game" said Suliman, the fire walker said nothing. He stood up and in a blink of an eye, he was already behind one of the men. He plunged a fire ball into his heart and threw him out of the cave. He turned to Suliman, men started to surround her. "Make sure you retrieve the girl" she said. The fire walker was straight away in front of Bronté, Bronté was watching the whole of this through blurry vision. The fire walker started to through fire balls everywhere, blocking the men coming any closer to them.
"If you take that girl, you will be hunted down and killed on the spot, we will find you, that girl is to valuable for us to let go" said Suliman as the fire walker picked up Bronté and literally jumped out of the cave. Suliman watched them fall as a path way of fire formed,
"he's not called the fire walker for nothing" she said before getting back to work, "we will finish with the plans, then go looking for her, but organise me to form a search part, no one leaves the mountain range, look into the forest if you have to, find that girl" she ordered to one of the men, he bowed and moved away to get to work.
Bronté fell unconscious as she was being carried away, the last thing she saw was a masked man walking on fire, strange.
(Some time later)
Bronté could barely remember what happened, she remembers that she was rescued, but what happened next. She slowly opened her eyes to find herself in a cabin, she could hear footstep and quickly sat up but was stopped but chains around her wrist,
"great a new prison" she said,
"oh, your finally awake" said a voice, Bronté turned around to find her masked saviour,
"who are you, unchain me right now" she cried, the fire walker nodded and unchained her,
"sorry about that, that strange woman said something about you being of value, I guess that means your strong, I didn't want to suddenly be attacked" he said,
"why do you wear that mask, who are you?" she asked again,
"I wear this mask to hide my identity, I can't let people know who I am, or everyone will be at my door, either wanting to thank me, or kill me" he said before taking his mask of to reveal a black haired boy with green eyes, "I'm Sam, what's your name?" Bronté blushed, she admitted he was handsome, but she wasn't going to tell his her name, she looked away from him, she heard him sigh,
"ok you don't have to tell me your name, but tell me why that strange woman was so attached to you, you would have been raped if I wasn't there, I saved your life, so you owe me that much" he said, Bronté nodded and faced him,
"Her name is Madame Suliman, she is the head magician for the king. I've heard she has been after me since the time I was in the whom, my parents sent me into hiding by giving me to a different family, I was reunited with my parents a week ago or so.
Suliman came for me when I was training with my dad, she believes I have this mystical power inside of me that will get the king to fire her and replace her with me. But Suliman wants me to destroy my home town first before I am to die" she said. She wasn't going to say anything about being the daughter of the great wizard Howl, he was a stranger after all.
"That explains a lot" Sam said, "so mystical girl, how do you feel, you had a few cuts here and there, some worse than others, but I stitched them up, you'll be fine, but I don't think it would be best to walk" she nodded and looked around the cabin.
"Where are we?" she asked
"slap bang in the middle of the forest at the bottom of the mountain, people never come here, only I know how to, people get lost in these forests, but I grew up here, so I know everything about it" he said.
"Why did you save me?" Sam laughed,
"Wow, you have a lot of question, ok the truth is, I could hear your screams from all the way down here, I gotta say girl, you've got a loud scream, but I guess it saved your life. I would never allow anyone to get hurt without me at least trying to help them"
"Bronté" she said, she knew she shouldn't say her name, but I wouldn't hurt to,
"What?" asked Sam,
"Bronté, my name, it's better than calling me girl" she said, Sam smiled,
"cool name, I've never heard of it before, I thought you were speaking a different language just then" Bronté laughed,
"yeah, a lot of people say that to me" Sam smiled and grabbed a plate of meat,
"here eat this, you must be hungry, your not a vegetarian right?" he offered, I shook my head, and grabbed the plate,
"no" she said and started to eat, "wow, this tastes amazing, what is it?"
"animals around here have the best meat, that is just deers meat, nothing special but this forest makes it special" he said, Bronté frowned,
"I'm guessing there is a certain plant in this forest that isn't anywhere else" she said, Sam nodded,
"you're right, smart girl, it's called the Litural Plant, it only grows here and it makes the animals here produce the best meat, however you have to be a stronger hunter to catch them, I'm one of few who has been able to" he said,
"I bet I could catch them, I'm a handler of the bow, I could shot anything" she said, Sam got up and walked over to the other side of the cabin and picked up an item,
"you're in luck, I have a bow that was given to me a few years back, I don't know how to shot, but you can borrow it" he said offering it to Bronté, she nodded and took the bow,
"thank you, but why are you being so kind to me, I've done nothing but cause trouble and you act like I am someone who is one of your closest friends" she said, Sam sighed and sat down again,
"well I don't get much company, your the first friend I've had since that person who gave me the bow" Bronté frowned,
"you say you grew up here, what happened to your parents, how old are you?" Sam smiled but then it vanished,
"my parents got lost in this forest when I was a baby, they were going out for a walk and strayed from the path, they were attacked my a male deer who was protecting his young after their mother was killed. My parents were killed, but an old man found me and brought me here, he looked after me; taught me everything I knew, but he died 3 years ago and left me with that bow, saying that someone would need it one day, I guess me meant you. I'm 16 now." Bronté gasped and handed back the bow,
"I can't take something so precious" she said, but Sam wouldn't except it,
"please Bronté, I want you to have it, but I want it back. So taking I told you my age, how old are you" he asked. Bronté hesitated,
"14, but I'll be 15 soon, in about a month" Sam frowned,
"you don't look 14, and those people who are after you, you've been hiding all your life, that is cruel" Bronté shook her head,
"no, I didn't know, I lived a normal life, but the people who looked after me were always cautions around soldiers, now I know why" Sam nodded,
"right that's enough talking, you rest some more, you were beaten pretty bad, I'm glad I set the guy, who was about to rape you, on fire" he said before walking away,
"hey wait" she called out,
"yeah?"
"was it me, or when you saved me, were you walking on fire" she asked, Sam smiled
"I'll explain that part when you wake up, now rest, if you're feeling better tomorrow, you can help me hunt" he said before Bronté closed her eyes and drifted of into a peaceful slumber.
