(With Bronté)
Bronté didn't remember much of what happened the day before, she kept getting flash backs of a black haired boy walking on fire, her saviour she guessed. She felt warm in the bed she was sleeping in, Bronté slowly opened her eyes to find herself in a cabin. Of Course, she remembered everything now. Sam, the fire walker, saving her from Suliman.
She felt a lot better now, she slowly moved her arms, moaning in pain as her body felt numb from not moving.
"Morning Bronté" called a voice, Bronté looked up to see Sam, his face always seemed to be perfectly pale, but not too sickly. Bronté smiled at him,
"morning Sam" she said back before moving herself off the bed, trying to straighten her legs.
"You need help there?" he asked, but Bronté shook her head,
"no, pain in nothing to me" she replied back, Sam sighed,
"you shouldn't think like that, people who usually hide their pain tend to die young" Bronté didn't reply, it was strange for someone to say something like that to her, she was probably going to die young anyway with this power inside of her.
"I prefer not to show people I don't know the weak side of me, I feel like they can take advantage of that weakness" she replied, Sam nodded,
"good answer, but while you're here, you don't need to hide any weaknesses, because I won't take advantage of you." Bronté sighed,
"I'll believe that when I see it, for all I know, you might be working for Suliman. Making me your friend is your mission so when the time comes I'll trust you to do as you say and kill millions"
"it's your decision on what you believe but I can plainly tell you that I'm don't work for Suliman, I don't even know her". Bronté nodded,
"alright, enough with the gloomy talk, I remember last night that you were going to tell me about you walking on fire" Sam smiled.
"You seem to have a good memory, ok, I'll explain. The man who took me in was originally the old fire walker, although he retire because, you know, he got old. When I turned 7, I was showing to have the power of fire, so I became his apprentice to master the element and become the new fire walker. The man was like a father to me, but he was very strict. When he died, he gave me the bow I gave you, saying that someone would need it. He spoke like that sometimes, he once said something about a phoenix being born again, but he told me that they haven't existed for hundreds of years.
He told me that there was only one phoenix, and each time it dead, it would pass its soul onto another, so it would keep living."
Bronté listened to Sam's story, amazed at it, as she has heard of the Phoenix before and has always wanted to go looking for it.
"When he said about a phoenix being born, what did he say exactly?" she asked. Sam smiled,
"so I'm guessing you like phoenixes, huh? He told me, when I was 10, that he could sense the phoenixes power growing stronger, I asked him if he meet the phoenix, but he said no. However, he did warn a couple about it. He told them that they would meet the Phoenix." Bronté enjoyed listening to the story, but soon Sam stopped.
"Right, I think that's enough story time, let's go. If you can walk, that it" he said, Bronté frowned,
"go where" she asked, Sam smiled and handed the bow to her,
"hunting of course, I want to see you use a bow". Bronté said nothing as she took the bow from his hand, she nodded and they walked out of the cabin.
They walked through the woods, searching for something to hunt, Sam stopped, "hold it" he said. He waited for about 5 seconds before he pushed Bronté against a tree and covered her mouth. She didn't move, nor scream, only listen.
"I doubt she'll be around here, there's no way a little girl like her could make into through these woods" said a voice, it was getting closer,
"yeah, well Madam Suliman ordered that this forest is searched, but just remember that she has that fire walker with her" another voice said. Their voices were fading, and Sam let go of Bronté's mouth,
"sorry about that, those men are looking for you" he said, Bronté blushed at how close he was to her,
"um, do you mind" she said, Sam suddenly knew what she was talking about and moved away, while blushing,
"oh, sorry about that too" he said. Bronté smiled at him,
"I bet you I can get those guys at the back of the neck" she said, but Sam shock his head,
"don't, Suliman will know that you are here, she'll notice that a couple of men are gone and that they went to the forest. Right now, Suliman isn't sure where you are. We keep going" he said, Bronté sighed,
"wow, you take the fun out of everything" she pouted, Sam smiled and patted her head,
"don't worry, you'll have your chance, but you're not ready yet. Let's start with animals first, alright?" he said, Bronté looked sad but nodded, "the idea that you get sad after being told you can't kill someone is every worrying", she then smiled. "Come on, let's go", and with that said, they both headed off, further into the forest, cautious of any more of Suliman's men.
"Hold it" said Bronté, Sam stood very still,
"what, another group?" he asked, but she shock her head and smiled,
"nope, I think we have found our dinner", Sam frowned, he couldn't see anything.
"Where?" he asked, Bronté turned to him,
"shut your eyes" she whispered, Sam blushed at the way she said it,
"why?" he asked,
"oh, now you're full of questions, just do it" she ordered. This time Sam did as he was told, "now listen to your surrounding, feel the wind on your skin, every touch, smell, feeling." she whispered. Bronté stayed quiet as Sam concentrated.
He could smell so much, the fresh trees and oxygen filling the atmosphere.
He could feel the wind on his skin, making him feel like he was flying.
He could hear faint foot steps far away, but they weren't human feel. It was a deer.
Sam opened his eyes to see Bronté staring at him, "that is really something huh? Nicely done" he complimented, Bronté bowed, before getting her bow ready and walked forward. Sam stayed back, watching to see what she was going to do; she was so quiet, it was unbelievable.
Bronté settled down on the ground as she stared at her prey, a male deer. She brought the pointy end of the arrow up to her face, but before Sam could stay anything about her killing herself, the arrow caught fire. Sam stared in awe as he watched her stance. She raised the bow and pointed it into the direction of the deer,
"sorry" she whispered, before releasing the arrow. It flew through the air, before embedding the arrow into its neck. It was quick and painless as the fire took most of the pain by killing it quicker. Sam stared wide eyed at the dead deer, "you call that difficult, I call it the warm up of the warm up" said Bronté laughing. However, Sam didn't laugh, he just frowned,
"Bronté, that was one of the most powerful animals in this forest, and you took it down with an arrow and a bit of fire, that's not possible" he said, still staring at the deer. Bronté stopped laughing,
"I just shot it in the neck" she said, but Sam shook his head and walked over to the deer,
"that still wouldn't have been good enough" he said, before resting his hand on the deers head. He turned to her,
"what are you?" he asked, Bronté stared bewildered at Sam, she stepped back,
"what do you mean, what am I? I am a human being, who has been living in hiding all her life. I always go out and shot targets. Don't you dare ask me that question again!" she shouted, before storming off. She was gone before Sam could stop her, he turned to the deer,
"sorry, huh?" he said, remembering what Bronté said before releasing the arrow.
Bronté wondered through the forest, not caring where she was going. How could he say that to her? He should have known she was going to be powerful, but the way he spoke about how she killed the deer, it was like she just turned water into wine.
"Stupid Sam" she cured; Bronté stopped dead in the tracks and looked around, where was she. Sam didn't even follow her, and now she was lost. And what was worse, there are Suliman's men patrolling the forest.
"Hey I think I heard something coming from over there" said a voice, it was close,
"watch yourself, remember the animals in this forest are strong" called another voice. Bronté held her breath and sunk to the floor, they found her, it was over, and Sam wasn't here to save her. The foot steps came closer.
Bronté knew she could defend for herself, but what was the point. Suliman will still be after her and in the end get her, she couldn't run. Bronté curled into a ball, wishing that she would wake up and she would be back at the castle with her mum and dad. It was over.
Suddenly she felt someone grab her from behind, coving her mouth. Bronté screamed and struggled, before she noticed it was Sam. She could feel tears of relief building up, he smiled at her and let her go,
"come on, let's head back, I got the meat" he whispered, making sure the men didn't hear them. Sam grabbed a stick and threw it away from them,
"you idiot, I told you it was an animal, now let's head back before we get killed, the suns going down" called one of the men, the foot steps were soon gone.
Sam and Bronté walked back to the hut without saying a word, she was still mad at him, but she was glad he came,
"look, Bronté, I'm sorry I said that to you" he said quietly, Bronté turned to him, "I didn't mean it as a criticism, it was just too shocking to see you take down something so mighty in less than a second. I understand you are something special, but I guess I still don't understand enough". Bronté smiled,
"no, you don't, I just did as I normally do, but I guess I can forgive you, I do owe you that much anyway" she said.
The hut came into view and they both got inside before it started to rain. Sam cooked the meat, and they had dinner.
"So," began Sam, "you're a girl that mysteriously pops out of no where, with a bunch of men and a weird old lady, you are being hunted, you can kill a mighty animal in one shot, I'm so confused. Please can you explain it to me" he begged. Bronté looked down as he spoke, he had the right to be told, but it was whether to trust him or not, "I'm not one of them, ok!" he shouted, "I would never hurt someone, I am the fire walker, ok. I have told you about me, now you tell me about you!". Bronté frowned,
"why should I tell you, you don't belong in the world I do, you couldn't understand. You haven't been lied to your whole life, having people protect you from the truth when you don't want to be protected" she fought back. Sam grinder his teeth and walked towards her,
"tell me, you said you owed me that much, I deserve an explanation to why these men are putting so much effort into finding you. They said that they needed to head back before they die, they are risking their life to find you, so why are you so special?". He was right again, she owed him that much. Bronté sighed,
"fine, 15 years ago, my mother was kidnapped by Suliman because of me, even though I wasn't born yet. She kept her locked away, planning to kill me when I was born and leave my mother to die. However, my father came to rescue her on the day I was born, and got away. They gave me to my mothers best friends, and they treated me as their daughter and didn't tell me the truth about who I really way", Sam frowned,
"but who are you?" he asked,
"I am the daughter of the great sorcerer Howl, and Sophie Hatter. Suliman wants me because I can pose a threat to her right as Kings Sorcerer. She wants me to show off my power by destroying a town, that I why we were up in the mountains, she wants to make a portal" Sam didn't speak anymore, and Bronté looked angry at herself, "so there you have it, you know me, and what does that accomplish? Nothing!" She shouted before leaving the room.
Sam stayed where he was and tried to think over what he just heard, but the more he thought, the more he wanted to know.
Here is chapter 8, I know that I make you wait such a long time, but maybe if you review, I will write more frequently, but I promise I will finish this story, but please review, because I makes me feel like no one likes this story.
