Chapter 14 - Panic
"Natsu, it been a week and he hasn't come back yet," Wendy sat down heavily amongst the cages holding the large beasts she called friend once, but now were to be executed in the morning.
"Yeah," Natsu sat down next to her. They stayed like that for a while. Wendy listened to the death threats from the Dragons, heart sinking from each one. Then they changed, but she didn't pay much mind. Sometimes they did that when other humans came around. Wendy began to tune them out when she suddenly heard what they were saying, and it was different, not Wilson different though.
"A breech, the King is in danger." The dragons began to rattle their cages. Some began to escape.
"Natsu," Wendy called over the flapping of wings as the Dragons escaped their prison, "Where are they going?" Wendy squinted. They weren't chasing humans...they were flying away.
Alarms began to blare all around the compound and people poured into the area. By that time, all the Dragons had escaped.
"They are headed for the gates," Mira said.
"Why?" Levy asked, "Only you can open them."
"THey want to go back." Wendy told them, "They say that someone is there and the King is in danger."
"Where's Lucy?" Lisanna questioned, "She'd know what to do."
"We don't know, no one has heard from her in a week. Her communications lacrima hasn't responded to any of our calls."
"Where could she be?"
"That hurt," I roll over on my back clutching my bum.
"You're one to talk, i caught your fall," Laxus mutters.
"Where are we?" I look around at the abandoned atmosphere. Trees were burned to a crisp and lay as ashes on the ground, the earth was pushed in every direction. The sky was darker than the day Acnologia attacked.
"The Dragon World." Laxus's eyes are wide as he hurriedly stands.
"What?!"
"We have to hide," Laxus began to pull me along.
"Laxus, please explain something," I say when we find a nice cave to stay in.
"This thing transported us here," Laxus holds up the staff.
"How come it isn't transporting you away now?"
"I think it was a one-way trick." Laxus just stares at it though.
"What-" a voice interrupts my sentence.
"You have intruded," the voice boomed. I know that voice. I had heard it threatening the population of Earthland everyday for nearly two years.
"Acnologia," I whisper.
"I will give you time," he says, "to train your pathetic excuse of a champion to fight me. But once that is done. I will fight you and kill you."
