Chapter Sixteen - Remember
"Do some laps!" Laxus shouted after I finished the rest of my morning workout which had now turned into an afternoon one.
"Laxus, it's been six months! You are literally going to kill me at this rate."
" Fine, summon Wilson for two days."
"You suck!" but I did as I was told.
"Natsu, quit staring out the window," Wendy brought in some food. She was taller and ha filled out just a little bit more. Natsu didn't stop. "Natsu, it's been four years. Lucy and Laxus are probably dead."
"Some many died," he said quietly.
"I know, but we tried to stop it."
"No, we weren't there."
Wendy stared at him, "They forgave us, Natsu. Why can't you forgive yourself?"
"She won't forgive me."
"Lucy? Really, you know I heard that someone stole a book from her once and she still hasn't forgiven them." Her words didn't help at all. "Eat, we have a Council meeting in an hour and you are going." She stood to leave.
"Do you remember what happened?" Natsu's voice was barely a whisper.
"When?"
"We were looking for the dragons," Natsu adjusted himself in his seat, "we found them."
"Yes, and they were so beautiful. They had scales worth more than jewels. It was amazing, but why remember it now, Natsu; it's long gone."
"Remember how the memories just stop and we are back in the real world?"
"Unfortunately, yes, I do. And we were so tired."
"The staff was gone too."
"I don't remember a staff, Natsu."
"It was what took us to the Dragon World."
"Oh right! I wonder where it went." She stood, and this time left with a goodbye.
"Elfman, we lost connection with Star City." Erza reported.
"That is not man, not man at all."
"Only two cities are left, here and Virgo Mountain. And since Capricorn city was burned down, we have no means of communication other than to expose ourselves."
"What happened to the portals?"
"The master control was in Star City; we didn't have enough time to bring it back," Mira said, face downcast.
"The Dragons won't be attacking much longer," Natsu told them.
"Natsu, what are you talking about this time?"
"The Dragons have been attacking less and less. Whoever is controlling them is preparing for a battle. One that could destroy everything."
"This isn't good, how do we stop it?!"
"It isn't for a while now, the Dragons will need to be organized in order to stand against us and that will take time, and right now that is all we have," Wendy defends.
A/N: Four more chapters left, Owls! I'm so excited this will be the first story I have ever completed! I'm not so excited about school starting soon, but I will still be able to finish in August!
Disclaimer: I have never owned Fairy Tail, and the fact that I have to pointed it out every chapter is a blow to my self esteem.
Also, don't forget to leave a review, they make me feel better when I have trouble writing.
Hoots,
Owls
