Chapter 46 - Rescue

Lindsey entered the bar and then went immediately to the party room, in the rear, she had been there many times before, so she he knew her way around the place way too well. Of course even if she didn't know her way around she could have easily found the party by all the noise coming from the back and as soon as she entered, she got comments made to her on how hot she looked and if she would like to have a good time, while others just stared at her with open lust. Normally Lindsey would enjoy the attention, but all the drunk men now seemed just sleazy to her because she was sober and she had plans for tonight which it didn't involve any of the men who were now leering at her. So she quickly looked around the room, ignoring the repeated suggestive remarks she was getting, seeing first her father, who seemed to be arguing with her uncle, and then finally seeing Howard who was sitting alone, him and Raj being the people she was looking for, which made her quickly walk up to him. "Where is Raj?"

"Never mind about Raj, we need to go out and search for Leonard, some of your cousins took him outside for air and I don't think they are coming back." Howard blurted out, obviously agitated.

Lindsey put an arm on Howard's shoulder, "Calm down Howard, Penny has Leonard and your wife is with her outside." she watched as Howard visibly relaxed, "Now where is Raj?"

Howard shrugged, "He was fondling some stripper and then they both disappeared." he told her. "I guess we should go and look for him."

Lindsey's immediate reaction was anger, the thought of Raj fondling a stripper making her extremely upset, however she didn't say anything and just shook her head to Howard, "Why don't we go out to your wife and Penny first." she was pleased when Howard nodded in agreement.

It was only a few minutes later when Howard and Lindsey approached one of the cars that Penny and Bernadette where standing next to, with Leonard being held up by both of them. Howard immediately moving to take Bernadette's burden of Leonard from her, not worrying about Penny because he knew she was much stronger than him. Lindsey couldn't help but snicker at her sister holding up her fiancé, who obviously was not holding his alcohol very well.

"Where's Raj?" Bernadette quickly asked.

"I lost track of him, when Penny's cousins came over to Leonard and kept making him take shots, then the big one pushed me away when I tried to talk to Leonard and get him away." Howard quickly responded.

"I'm going to kill them" Penny said in a low growl making everyone look at her.

Lindsey saw the opportunity open up, "Hey, why don't you guys get Leonard home using one of the cars and I'll find Raj and get him home in the other."

Penny had just wanted to get Leonard home since she took him from her cousins, she wanted him safe and sound in her bed with her, "Okay." Penny then looked at Bernadette and Howard, "I know it is the opposite way, but can you guys drive me back to my parent's farm, then take the car to the hotel." she asked, and got immediate nods from them.

Lindsey smiled. "Great, it is settled, you guys drive Penny and Leonard home and I'll get Raj home." It was a couple minutes later that Lindsey was waving at the car driving away with her sister, Leonard, Bernadette and Howard. "Now to find my Indian playboy." Lindsey mumbled to herself as she went back into the bar.

Penny cradled Leonard while Bernadette drove the car to her parent's house, Howard helping her navigate there using the car's built in GPS system. Leonard was asleep against her and although she felt sorry for what he went through that evening, there was a little part of her that was happy that he was so helpless and needed her to take care of him for a change. She loved him so much, so being there for him, like right now, made her feel like she was being his mate, his companion for life and doing what their vows would ask of them on their wedding day, being there for each other for better or worse till death do us part.

Penny leaned over and kissed him, he was so sound asleep she figured he didn't even notice, but suddenly she heard him mumble, "Penny I'm sorry, I love you."

She smiled at him, "Sweetie there is nothing to be sorry about." she said before she realized he wasn't awake, he was talking in his sleep. It made a tear fall down her cheek, "Honey I love you too, sleep well." and she kissed him again.

Lindsey went through the same thing as before when she went back into the party room, only this time she had to push a couple of the drunk males away as she worked herself to her dad. However, she stopped in her tracks when she saw her dad yelling at his brother, knowing from many times before that her uncle and father could not be reasoned with when they were angry with each other. She also rationalized that if her father lost track of Leonard like he did, because of his brother, it was pretty certain that he didn't know where Raj was.

So Lindsey started to look for her brother, again pushing through drunk men, a couple who grabbed her ass, until she found him at a table fondling a very drunk laughing stripper with a couple other guys. One look at her half drunk brother made her realize that he would be no help either, so she looked around the party room and noticed the hallway off to the bathrooms. But as she started off that way, she was suddenly pulled into a man's lap and she felt a hand on her breast almost immediately, Lindsey got pissed. "What the fuck do you think you are doing!"

"Hey sweet cheeks, don't you want to party." a very drunk slender man asked as he held her on his lap still squeezing her breast like he was her boyfriend or something.

Lindsey was in no mood, "Dad!" she yelled at the top of her lungs and almost immediately Wyatt and Steven turned to her at the sound of her voice.

"What the hell!" Wyatt exclaimed as he started to go to his daughter, his brother following.

"You Asshole!" Steven blurted out as he dumped the stripper off his lap and headed to his sister, too.

The room suddenly got quiet as the men in Lindsey's family were now coming to her aid, they might have not been the best family in the world but Lindsey knew all of them would do anything to protect each other. As all three men moved towards Lindsey, it was Wyatt's brother who spoke first, "Cousin Leroy, what are you doing with my niece?"

Wyatt knew they had no cousin Leroy and just turned to look at his brother, "Cousin Leroy?"

"He is on my wife's side…." then Wyatt's brother shrugged, "ex wife's side."

"So what is he doing here?" Wyatt asked, getting more pissed at his brother's non concerned attitude.

"I lost my drivers license again and I needed a ride." he then shrugged again.

"You stupid asshole." Wyatt was now really pissed, it was one thing for his brother to mess with him, but messing with his daughter was way off limits.

Wyatt took a quick looked around, "Henry, Tommy, Cousin Leroy is leaving."

Leroy laughed, "Yeah who is going to make me." as he pulled Lindsey more on his lap, way too drunk to understand how serious everything had just become

Just then two huge men, each easily over half a foot taller and between 50-100 pounds heavier than Leroy, walked up to him and looked down at him with very ugly looks on their faces. One man was Meryl's younger cousin, now 41 and very close to Meryl since she baby sat him when he was very young, the other man being Tommy, Meryl's sisters son and Christie's husband, big and very muscular. Wyatt's brother looked at him as soon as the men appeared and asked, "Who are they?"

Wyatt now smiled, "Cousin and nephew, on my wife's side, the wife I'm still married to."

Henry reached down and helped Lindsey off Leroy's lap, Leroy didn't hold her back at all as he just stared up at the mountain of men looking down at him. Lindsey quickly got behind Steven and turned just in time to see Henry and Tommy pick Leroy up, while he was still in the chair, and head to the doorway with Leroy still sitting in the chair. When they came back a few minutes later, Leroy wasn't with them, as they walked back to Lindsey and Henry spoke, "He won't disrespect you again."

Wyatt asked cautiously, "You didn't hurt him too bad?"

Tommy shook his head, "No but he will remember." then both men went back to their seats, while people started to talk again.

Steven patted Lindsey's shoulder, "I don't think you'll have any other problems tonight." then he turned back to the table he left with the smiling stripper still there.

Wyatt's brother just looked at Wyatt, "He was sort of an asshole anyway."

"Then why did you bring him?" Wyatt said in disbelief.

"Like I said I have no license, and the rest of my ex's family hates me."

"I can understand why, assholes tend to flock together." Wyatt told him and with that they started arguing again.

Lindsey looked around, searching each face in the room again for Raj, hoping the commotion brought him out, but no one looked like him, so now with no one bothering her she made her way back to the hallway she saw before she was grabbed. She made her way through the men in the straightest way possible, the sign saying restrooms her goal and the thought that maybe Raj was in there right now, so she hastily headed over there to check. That idea turned into a bust too, after she checked in both the ladies and men's rooms, not having found Raj and she was resigning herself that she was going to have to go back out into the room and ask men, who had way too much to drink, if they had seen Raj. So she had just started to head down and out of the hallway when suddenly she hear a noise like something fell over further down the hall.

Lindsey went deeper into the hall seeing that it ended with a door to the outside, but before it did there was a door to the right and she swore she could hear somebody talking behind it. So Lindsey tried the door knob, finding it unlocked, and carefully opened it to peak in, the sight she immediately saw making her jaw drop. Inside the room was Raj, but he wasn't by himself, he had to have what was one of the other strippers and she was bent over a table while he stood there with his pants down behind her pounding her from behind. What made things worse was that the stripper was seeming to enjoy it as she kept say "Yes, yes, Oh God yes." while Raj kept giving it to her, a big smile on his face.

Lindsey didn't know she was right in her observation because Valerie was enjoying herself a lot more that she could have imagined. Penny's fiancé was nicely hung, above normal in both length and girth, and to add to that, his being somewhat drunk seemed to have a major impact on his stamina because they had been going at it a while and Valerie was working on her second organism. She was barely able to think as her organism built to climax but what few thoughts she had were that of satisfaction, satisfaction that she made Penny's fiancé cheat on her just a day or two before her wedding and satisfaction that the man screwing her was really good at it.

Lindsey just watched, frozen in place, while she acted like a voyeur, just watching in astonishment at the sex scene in front of her. She found she couldn't stop watching, even though she knew it was wrong, and she had to admit that watching Raj pound that stripper actually turned Lindsey on. But even Lindsey knew she had to stop watching when she realized that Raj and the stripper where about to complete their sex act by the moans, loud expletives and faster pace they both started to enter at the end. Lindsey carefully closed the door and backed deeper into the hallway shadows, now easily being able to hear the strippers scream of ecstasy and Raj's grunt of release.

It was a few minutes later that Lindsey saw the stripper leave the store room, without Raj, straightening what little clothes she had on then blowing a kiss to the closed door as she went back to join the party. Lindsey waited till she was out of sight before she moved back to the storeroom door, opened it and walked in, to find Raj now laying on the table, he had the stripper on just a few minutes before. She walked up to him, he still had his pants down, giving her a good look at his junk, which only confirmed to her that he was definitely blessed with being above average, she also quickly realized he was half asleep, the alcohol and the relief from his release making him very tired.

Lindsey just stood there looking at him, sort of zoning out for a couple minutes before she shook her head to bring herself back to reality. She promised to get him back to the hotel and she actually wanted to do that, but to do that, she first needed to wake him up. So she leaned over and began to shake him, "Raj, Sweetie, wake up." She kept shaking him till his eyes began to flutter.

"Hello there." Raj said coming out of his sleep and as soon as he saw Lindsey, a huge suggestive smile forming on his face.

Lindsey just looked down at him, a little aggravated at him and a little turned on by how cute he looked, "Alright Playboy, you need to go to bed." Lindsey then looked at his bare ass again, "after you pull your pants up."

Raj slightly lifted his head to look down on himself, then looked back up at Lindsey and smiled wider, "Was it as good for you as it was for me?"

'Wow' Lindsey thought, he is really out of it, he thought they had sex together, but then she thought she would have slept him if he had just asked. That thought made her a little pissed, he had done some stripper and hadn't even showed that kind of interest in her, so she decided to screw with him, "It was okay, it could have been better."

Raj's smile dropped, "I'm so sorry, I can do better if you give me another chance."

Lindsey smiled inside, "Listen stud, I'll think about it, but you have to pull your pants up so I can take you back to your hotel."

Raj nodded and with Lindsey's help got his pants up, then hung on her shoulder as she helped him out the back door to the car. She had no sooner got him settled in the passenger seat and her in the drivers seat when he fell asleep again, his head landing in her lap. So Lindsey just sighed and drove towards the hotel, thinking about what she had saw and how Raj promised her he could do better.

Penny and Howard had Leonard out of the car and half way to the house when Leonard came completely awake, told Penny he felt sick, then threw up where he stood. Penny just held him and rubbed his back, while Howard looked away, just trying to soothe him as he continued to be sick. "Honey just get it all out, you'll feel better."

It was almost ten minutes later when Leonard seemed through and Penny told Howard he was ready to move again, them both again helping him to and into the house. Penny's mother greeted them as soon as they got in the door, "Well someone had a good time."

"No he didn't. Jimmy, Tommy and Bubba got him drunk and then tried to take him for a ride, if I didn't show up they could have him anywhere by now." Penny croaked out the last few words as she again thought about what her cousins could have done to Leonard.

"Where was your father? I told him to watch out for Leonard." Meryl said with a hint of anger.

"Lindsey said dad's brother was there and they were arguing again." Penny explained.

Meryl just nodded, she knew Wyatt and his brother never could get along and his brother would drive Wyatt to distraction every time. "Those two men should be banded from getting within 500 feet of each other."

Penny just nodded to her mothers words. "I'm going to just get him to bed. Do you have any aspirin?"

"You take him upstairs and I'll get the aspirin." Meryl told her daughter.

"Can you bring up a couple glasses of water too?" Penny asked and Meryl nodded

It was a few minutes later when Meryl and Howard came back down the stairs, leaving Penny with water and aspirin to take care of Leonard. It that time Meryl had decided she needed to check up on her husband so as they approached the door she looked over to Howard. "Would you and your wife mine dropping me off at the bar on your way to the hotel since you'll have to pass near it on your way back."

Howard liked Penny's family so he had no trouble responding, "Sure that will be no problem at all."

So it was about a half hour later, after Meryl thanked Howard and Bernadette, told them to have a good night and watched them drive off, then she walked into the bar looking for Wyatt.

Wyatt and his brother where back in the corner again arguing, their arguments getting very heated and about to end up with blows traded, when suddenly Wyatt's brother got a big smile on his face. "Hello beautiful."

"Hello Nate." Meryl spit out, making Wyatt turn quickly to see his wife behind him.

"Oh come on don't be so mean to me, I'm your bother-in-law after all." Nate said too sweetly to her.

"It is because you are my bother-in-law that I talk to you at all." Meryl quickly shot back.

"Meryl, Honey, you know you love me." Nate calling Meryl honey had the hair sticking up on the back of both Wyatt's and Meryl necks.

However Meryl was the first to respond, "Oh yeah I love you, I love how you tried to take me from Wyatt, how then you tried to get me to sleep with you and cheat on Wyatt, and I finally love how when that all didn't work, you tried to get me drunk at my junior prom so you could just take me."

"Yeah those were fun times." Nate said with a dreamy smile.

Meryl put out a hand to keep Wyatt from punching Nate. "Maybe for you Nate, but for me it was all disgusting."

"You know I'm not disgusting and you want me." Nate said with a lecherous smile.

Meryl then took Wyatt's hand, "No woman wants you Nate after they get to know you, how many divorces is it now, three."

"Those woman didn't understand me." Nate wasn't smiling anymore.

"No Nate, those woman understood you only too well, that is why you are alone." She paused to let Nate say something else but he was a little stunned by her words and didn't say a thing. "Well since this conversation is over, I'm leaving and taking my husband to bed, you have a good night with yourself, Nate." Meryl then turned and walked away, pulling Wyatt behind her.

Once outside Wyatt smiled, "That was awesome honey."

"Don't honey me. I sent you to watch Leonard and you get into a fight with Nate. I swear I can't trust you with anything." Meryl admonished him.

"Leonard, aw shit, is he still here, we need to get him." Wyatt now said with concern.

"Penny has him at home in bed, he is drunk and will be sick, no thanks to you." Meryl again scolded him.

"I'm really sorry honey, does this mean we are not going, you know to bed?" Wyatt pleaded, the alcohol making him a little frisky and he always still considered his wife desirable.

Meryl snorted, "Do you really have to ask."

Steven was standing by the car, him Wyatt and Leonard came in, where Meryl told him to be when she pulled him away from the stripper he had on his lap before she got her husband. "Do you want me to drive." he asked sheepishly.

Meryl looked at him sternly, "You get in and sit down, the only person driving tonight is me." The ride home was very quiet, both men just looking out the windows not daring to say a thing to the woman driving them home.

It had taken Penny an hour to get both Leonard and her washed up, in pajamas then in bed, but finally she had him just where she wanted him, safe in her bed with her, where she could take care of him. He had been adorable the whole time she washed and changed him, telling her he was sorry and that he loved her, still so drunk he didn't even realize she wasn't at all mad at him and was more happy and relieved she had him with her so she could protect him. So now she just held him in her arms as they both laid in the bed, him fast asleep and her just starting to relax and think.

This night especially gave her pause to think, think about the life in Nebraska and how things that had seemed okay in the past now weren't even funny any more. Like what happened to Leonard tonight, her only thought about her cousins was that they should be in jail and she was more than happy if she never laid eyes on them again. It actually made her realize that although things in Nebraska were exactly the same, she had changed, she wasn't the same girl anymore, that left there years before, she was different, better, and that was because of the man she was holding and his friends. This was not her home anymore, her home was with Leonard and Leonard lived in California, so that was her home and just thinking of it made her realize she wanted to go back home. There was a beautiful new apartment waiting for her, stuff to buy to make it their home and her life with her friends, but most importantly her life with her soon to be husband. She couldn't help feel reborn, she would be married soon, to her soul mate, and go back to the place she knew was her real home now, it was the starting of a new adventure for the two of them and Penny was really excited for it to begin. A smile crossed her face as she gave Leonard a little squeeze then kissed him, laying her head against his and closing her eyes, sleep taking hold of her just a moment later.

Lindsey got funny looks from the desk staff as she half carried a staggering Raj to the elevator, but at least none of them said a word. Driving back to the hotel had been very interesting, Raj waking up along the way then talking the whole time about his family, job, friends and his life in general. He also talked about a girl named Emily who seemed to have weirded him out and had been mean to his friends, and how he just now broke up with her. It made Lindsey feel like she knew him a lot better and that made her feel closer to him, which was a new feeling for her because she had never really known someone like him before.

Lindsey dropped Raj onto his bed as soon as she got him in his room, he was really beyond taking care of himself and she thought he looked adorably cute being so helpless. She couldn't help the attraction she was feeling for him right then, even though she had been a little mad when she caught him doing that stripper earlier that night. However, right now she wasn't mad at all and she just liked being around him, even if he was drunk, and she just rationalized that it was because he was a happy drunk, not a mean asshole drunk like her husband.

Lindsey sat down on the edge of the bed and put her hand on Raj's shoulder, "Sweetie, I have to leave now, you going to be okay?"

Raj rolled towards her and looked at her will a sad face, "Please don't leave, I don't want to be alone." he then moved until his head was on Lindsey's lap as he curled up next to her.

Lindsey sighed and without even thinking about it, brought her hand up and ran it through his hair, trying to comfort him, it was thick and soft to her touch and it made her only want to continue rubbing his head. It didn't help that he now had a small smile on his face and that he sort of moved himself more against her as she rubbed his head. Lindsey just sighed again, "You really are just a nice guy, who has no one to love or to love you." she said more to herself than him. It was at that moment Lindsey knew she was going to stay with him that night and the thought of it didn't bother her at all.

Leonard's moan woke Penny right up, she was against his back, spooning him, she had been holding him all night like that since they went to bed. "Sweetie, how are you feeling?"

"Like crap." he moaned. "My head feels like it is going to split at any second and I'm so thirsty." then he groaned, "I'm really sorry Penny, I hope I didn't do anything stupid last night."

Penny got up on one elbow to look down at him, her breasts rubbing on his shoulder as she moved over him, even being hung-over Leonard still was struck at how familiar the situation he was in felt, like he was on New Years with Constance. However, this time he could relax, the woman next to him he loved dearly and she loved him, so any affection they showed to each other was not something unwanted, but something actually desired. Even in the state he was in, Leonard couldn't be anything but happy she was with him, "I love you, Penny."

Penny smiled. "I love you too, Sweetie." she then bent down and kissed his head, slowly separating from him until she was leaning over him again. "Let's get some water and aspirin down you, to help the thirst and decrease that headache." She then grabbed the aspirin bottle and water bottle on the night stand so she could take care of her man.

Penny walked down into the kitchen about 10 AM that morning, finding her mother and father both sitting there drinking coffee and being very quiet. Penny had gone back to sleep with Leonard for another two hours, but now was wide awake, so decided to get something to eat while he continued to sleep his hangover away. "Good morning." she greeted her parents as she headed over to the coffee pot.

"How's Leonard." Meryl asked

"Sleeping his hangover off." Penny told her mother in a matter-of-fact way.

"It is really a shame he got so drunk." Meryl responded looking directly at her husband.

"Penny, I'm really sorry about last night." Wyatt told his daughter.

Penny looked at her father, he did mess up watching over Leonard, but he was her father and she couldn't stay mad at him, "Okay dad." Penny then walked over and sat with her parents.

"You hungry Sweetie?" Meryl asked her daughter.

Penny saw her father about to say he was hungry, but then think better of it and said nothing. She knew her mom was mad at him, she had seen this same situation before when her dad did something her mom was not pleased with. She also knew it wouldn't last too long because her parents obviously loved each other and couldn't stay mad at each other too long. "I could eat, but you don't have to make me anything, I can make French Toast."

"Nonsense, you relax, I'll whip up some pancakes, it will help me relax." again her mom looking at Wyatt when she said 'it will help me relax', making Wyatt look down at his coffee cup in submission.

Meryl made pancakes for all three of them and as they ate, the tension at the table seemed to lighten as both her mom and dad talked to her about the plans for the day. Penny knew a lot of it was because her parents didn't want to ruin the day before the wedding for her so her mom got over her aggravation with her father a lot quicker than usual, but she also thought that part of it was because they were excited about the wedding too and that excitement was stronger than her mother's anger. So the conversation turned to subjects about the wedding and never deviated from those subjects until it became about noon.

"So do you think Leonard will be okay by this evening and the rehearsal?" Meryl asked her daughter.

"I think he will be well enough for the rehearsal, but I'm not sure how hungry he will be at the dinner afterward." Penny honestly told her.

"Again, I'm sorry about that." Wyatt told Penny and Meryl, he then stood up, "Well I better get the rest of my chores done today at least.

Penny stood up too, "I'll give you a hand dad, I'm going to let Leonard sleep a few more hours."

"Yeah, I'll help too as soon as I do the dishes." Meryl told her husband as she stood up too.

Penny couldn't help but smile as she saw the relief in her father's eyes, her mother's remark letting him know he wasn't in the doghouse anymore, but he still needed to be on his best behavior the rest of the weekend. So with a busy day ahead of her, Penny left the kitchen and headed upstairs to change, being as quiet as she could to not wake Leonard. However after putting on her clothes and carrying her boots to the door, she couldn't help look back at Leonard peacefully sleeping in the bed. She was so much in love with him and the thought of them being husband and wife together tomorrow just made her want to scream in joy, so without a second thought she walked up to the bed in her socks, leaned down and kissed him, whispering after she did it, "Sleep well my love, and just dream about how much you are loved." Penny then walked out of the room a huge smile plastered on her face.
