A/N: Hello wonderful readers, it is a lovely Saturday where I am, and Spring has sprung. Now that I am on Vacation I can write, but I very limited access to wifi so the chapters won't be posted until later. This is an expect ion however. This chapter is based on an OC sent in by Lucy Queen of the Stars (love da name). Okay since most of probably don't read this I might as well go onto the chapter.

P.S. Leave the color that dexcribes the chapter in your review.

CHAPTER NINE:

DEATH, A KNIFE AND ME

My hands were cuffed in front of me, and my purple locks were naturally blue at the roots. The room was dark; these rooms always were. They were trying to make me use my magic. "Ha, the bastards won't get anything out of me!" I laugh to myself.

I stared into the darkness. My life was shit, I knew that much. It pretty much always has been. Ever since I lost Jellal; ever since that blasted day when everything changed.

Luna, Melly, Lola and Tizzy were all doing their magic stuff. I couldn't remember what, probably training in take-over magic with Luna. I was off in another clearing, doing physical training. I heard some screams and a crash from the girls, but I dismissed it as their training. It wasn't until I heard someone cough behind me, that I thought something was wrong.

Black hair rippled down her back. She moved with grace, a sickly grace that made you want to run and hide. Immediately, I dropped into a fighting stance.

"What do you want?"

"Nothing," she smirked.

"Don't give me shit! I know you want something; you're practically oozing evil intent," I sneer.

"Oh," her gleming eyes made me want to hide under a rock or become a tree, something to get away from her, "you have good instincts."

I was somehow bold and maganged to scoff: "You'd have to be dead to tell you don't intend any good. I'm sure people are rolling in the graves up put them Ina's we speak. You're not here to be flattered though. What do you want?"

"You," she laughed. "You are special, Courtney," she rolled my name on her tongue.

"How do you know-"

"Your name, Courtney Fernades," she smirked at me. In my distraction I had loosened my form and was no longer prepared for her sudden attack. A well placed kick to my stomach had me plummeting to the ground. After that everything was dark, and the next the I knew: a dark room.

As I had said before my life was shitty; my brother was gone, my mother dead, and no word of my father since I was born. Yep, shitty. I never needed and never will need pity, that would be too low. I'm Courtney Cross. I have sisters being tortured somewhere out there in the world...and I'm just sitting here.

I struggled against my bonds, hair flew into my face. By then, I could see the natural blue again. It had been so long ago when I first dyed it. Once I was out of here, I'm going to dye it purple again.

If you were wondering, purple hair is a Cross Sister tradition. Our Moon Crosses we wear over our chests are also tradition. Mine had been confiscated, so the others were no longer able to communicate with me by using it. I also couldn't use the take-over magic it gave me.

I stopped my struggles knowing it was useless. My knees connected with the floor and numb pain shot up through my body. I must have looked resigned when I heard the door open and faint footsteps come towards me.

A chilly hand jerked my head up, "Giving up already, are we?"

"Bitch!" I spat

She sighed, "I knew it was too good to be true."

"What are you going to do? Cut me open? You've already done that, what else could be left for your sadistic tendencies," my tone came out taunting.

"Listen to me girl!" I wasn't expecting her outburst and angry movements, "you have been here way too long! You have done nothing; you are nothing!" She said as if spelling out to a five year old, which she probably did, "And I'm starting to believe it too!"

"What else could I be?" I smirked. It had taken me years to break her.

My smirk withered as her's widened to show pointed teeth, "If only you knew, but now we have to get back to business." I saw a familiar glint, one I knew only from the times I drawn it on my own vitctims.

"My knife," I choked out.

"Yes, it has been very useful over the years."

She had used my knife! My glare narrowed to a squint. "Now, my dear, it will be useful again," the sharp tip glided gently across my throat leaving a small trail of blood.

My eyes snapped shut in preparation. I could feel her presence right in front of my chest positioned above my heart. The energy in her arm coiled into her bicep in preparation to plunge the knife into my heart killing me instantly or even worse slowly and painfully. Knowing her, the latter was more likely.

For one second all time stopped; my body connected with the energy of the universe. When time began moving again, I gave a small laugh.

"Damn bitch, where are you?" She screamed.

"Oh Mizu! I thought you wanted to see my magic," a laugh bubbled out of me again, "I can't believe it, finally the day is here. The day I will murder your ass and get my sisters out of here with me." Her eyes locked onto my glowing form.

"I knew you could do it, but I'll have you know your sisters left a long time ago."

"Is that really what you want your last words to be? A sorry lie to get me to start weeping," I told her as I took the knife from her almost waiting fingers, "giving up already, are we?" I throw her words at her, "Die painfully, bitch. See you in hell, Mizu." The knife went in and out of her chest in a blink of her soon-to-be-lifeless eyes. As soon as she hit the floor coughing up blood and screaming, I could hear feet pounding towards my cell.

Before I could do anything, the door swung open and I was caught by a young girl with innocent eyes. She looked about as old as Luna would be now. Guilt had no time to steep in my mind. The girl pushed me aside and began shrieking, "Mommy!" Later I could see myself in that moment, crying over my mother's grave.

My instinct took over and my feet moved on there own accord, but I couldn't have run for long with a wound in my neck making me light headed. Before I left the compound I had been held in I heard the girl call out: "You can't run forever, bitch. I'm going to follow you, find you and murder you and your family! You can feel my pain!"

"Trust me, I have felt it ten times as much," I thougt.

"Are you up?"

"Where am I?"

"You're up," the same voice said, "My name is Luna."

"I'm Courtney Cross. Where am I?"

"Courtney!" I felt like I was going to die. My organs were being squished out of my throat by tiny arms using so much pressure I almost blacked out, "Sorry about that," the arms stopped and I felt like I wasn't about to die, "I just haven't seen you since, I was ten!"

"Um... Who are you again?"

"Luna Cross, I'm your sister." I finally opened my eyes to investigate. A face meet my sights. Brown eyes, purple hair...purple hair, something about it sparked a memory.

"Luna, thank the gods. I can barely remember what happened, but thank the gods your okay. Where are Lola, Melly, and Tizzy?"

"They're around. Lola said you wouldn't be up for awhile."

"Wait, when did Lola finally become a healer?"

"I don't actually know, but she was here when I arrived."

"Wait are we still in Wolf Clan?"

"No," Luna's gaze turned stony, "and we will never go back."

"Well if we aren't at Wolf Clan, where are we?"

A smile brightened her face, "We're at a new guild, Mermaid Heel. It's an all female guild. Here we can finally be the best all female team ever."

"Just like we wanted."

"Exactly!" I give a rare smile at her childish antics, "Oh, I almost forgot," she handed me something.

"A new cross? Luna, you didn't have too..." I looked at the dark black cross in my hand. It looked pitch black in the sunlight, nothing reflected off its surface. At night it was a different story, the cross turned almost translucent.

"You don't need to worry about it, it take much out of me too make it."

"You must have gotten a lot stronger."

"I have. Come on, let's see your new animal."

I raise an eyebrow, "I'm probably still a snake."

"For me," she batted her eyes.

"Only for you." Even though I could feel the strain on my magic, I felt the usual fading sense of the take-over, but it took less time. Beside me, I heard a giggle.

"What?" I ask Luna, but I knew she wouldn't stop laughing.

In a mirror I managed to find, I saw a taller version of myself. Little ear popped from my head. My hair was streaked with white; white fur coated my arms, legs, face, and every other part of my body. Somehow my outfit changed and I now wore a black vest with long flaps in the back, a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, black dress pants, black dress shoes, and a pair of glinting glasses. "I'm a goat."
