CHAPTER TEN:

LIGHTNING IS COMING

"Does anybody ever get tired of Salt Lamps?" Josh sighed. A glare from the judge's table made Josh change his mind. "I certainly don't!" he added quickly.

"While we were on commercial break, L.S. set up for their show," Violet gleefully appeared on screen.

"The L.S. Team has asked to have only two members to perform and to make it fair, Fairy Tail Team B has to have two memebers as well." Luxxy was standing next to the purple-ete

"The producers and higher-ups have okayed it, so...the performers are...," Violet began to open an envelope mark 'L.S. because we didn't want to spell out the whole damn name, so Lamia Scale can just be Lamia Scale.' "Wendy and Lucy from L.S.!"

"And from Fairy Tail Team B," Luxxy was also holding an envelope marked with and very beautiful 'B', "Cana and Mira!"

"Ooooh, two of debatably the sexiest women from each guild," squealed Violet.

"I know, not to mention tensions are rising between Mermaid Heel and Wolf Clan," Luxxy remained somewhat calm and managed to get the information across with minimal fangirling involved.

"That's right!" Violet's face became thoughtful and distant, "I hope there's a fight."

"Yeah, and the guys are gonna be shirtless," Luxxy also became distant.

"VIOLET!" Josh roared into the camera view.

"Yes?" Violet asked, oblivious to her co-host's rage.

"What have you done to this poor, innocent child?" Josh motioned to Luxxy daydreaming about men without their shirts.

"She is perfectly fine, Josh," Violet told him. Something behind the camera made Violet turn to the camera, smile and say, "but now isn't the time to argue about children. Now it's time to watch a sing off~" with her words the cameras zoomed in on the stage where two girls stood, one a blunete and the other blonde. The two were wearing heart insprired outfits and make-up.

"How did they get so dressed up in just an hour?" Violet whispered to Luxxy. The junior reporter merely shrugged.

Lucy was dressed up is a pink dress that showed off more cleavage than was necessary. The top of the dress was just a heart with no back and the point at the bottom of the heart met the skirt, a pink rippling skirt that touched the back of her heels and the front of her knees. Light pink lipstick in the shape of a heart covered part of her lips and over her right eye there was a red heart. There was a pink band on her leg holding a large ring of keys. A head band with a big pink heart coming out of it finished the look.

Wendy was dressed in mostly white. Her dress was also made of hearts, but they were smaller, white, and came down her body in a stream starting at her left shoulder, wrapping around her breasts, went down her back with her abdomen to the elements, and finally the trail of hearts wrapped into a skirt which started at her left hip and fell to her right foot. On her arms Wendy wore gloves made of red fishnet and fabric hearts. There was a whit heart over her left eye. White hearts adorned her curled blue hair.

"They look gorgeous," Candy praised from the judges' table. Luckily the music began began so no one could hear the useless squabbles between Violet and Candy.

"You think I'm pretty without make-up on. You think I'm funny when I tell the punch line wrong. I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down~," Lucy began singing into an old fashion microphone.

"Before you met me, I was alright, but things were kinda heavy. You brought me to life. Now every February you'll be my valentine, valentine." Wendy picked up her microphone at the same time Lucy did, and separated the mic from the rest of the stand.

"Let's go all the way tonight," Lucy and Wendy spun past each other.

"No regrets, just love," Wendy sang soft and innocent.

"We can dance until we die," Lucy continued.

"You and I," Wendy looked at Lucy out of the corner of her eye.

"Will be young forever!" The duo sang together as the music picked up into the chorus. Lucy kicked back one leg before blowing a kiss to the audience.

The chorus began. Lucy and Wendy were stationary again, and a little dance began, "You," one finger pointed into the crowd, "make," both fingers pointed to the crowd, "me," hands pointed to their chests, "feel like I'm livin'," their fingers formed a heart on their chests, "the Teen-" their left hand flew into the air, "-age," their right hand flew into the air, "dream," their hands settled down to their sides, but only for a second because the motions were repeated again. "The way you turn me on. I can't sleep. Let's run away," this time Lucy and Wendy turned to face the back of the stage. "And don't ever look back," Lucy turned her head to face the crowd with a wink. "Don't ever look back," Wendy's head turned too, but then snapped back before she and Lucy walked off stage.

The audience clapped for their short song, but the music was still playing.

Cana and Mira walked onto the stage. their outfits weren't as outrageous as Wendy and Lucy's, but they were still noticeable. Cana wore silver shining bikini top, shorts, cowboy boots, and a cowgirl hat. Mira simply wore a silver version of her usual dress with a halter top bodice which flared into a skirt that didn't let anything show.

The next verse went smoothly if somewhat boring. That was until the song picked up for the chorus and Gajeel burst onto the stage followed by every male in the games.

"OMG a fight's broken out," Violet screamed.

"Sometimes I think you're blonde rather than whatever you are." Josh told his co-host.

"I resent that comment," Luxxy, the blonde junior report glared up at her senior.

"If she was blonde, you'd be more like her?" Josh offered.

Luxxy was only angered more, "Just because I'm a fangirl doesn't mean that I want to be like everybody else."

"I get that, but-" and there Josh was tackled by two flying blondes. Lucy managed to land on top of Laxus, who landed on top of Josh.

"What'd you do that for?" Laxus asked the blonde woman.

"Sorry, honey," she winked, "but I couldn't have you getting hurt." Lucy laughed before hoping off the dragon slayer.

"Lucy, Master Laxus," Violet called. The inner reporter in the purple-ete rose and burst to the surface, "what is going on, why is there a fight?"

"Um...there was-," as Master of Fairy Tail, the strongest guild in Fiore, Laxus saw it his duty to the country to tell them the truth, the whole truth; Lucy had other ideas.

"You know how men love to fight," the blonde said, "well, this is a case of what happens is you keep this many powerful men in the same confind space for a few hours. Wolf Clan and Fairy Tail got into a fight."

"What? Why?"

"Wolf Clan was trying to insult the Cross Sisters and some Fairy Tail mages stepped in. Wolf Clan said the girls could talk for themselves, but Fairy Tail said that they were 'just girls.' Of course that brought Erza out, and I think someone isn't going to ever have children...All in all, a lot of stuff happened."

"But what is going on? Why is Wolf Clan acting up? Why are Fairies fighting Fairies? Why is everything turning to chaos? This didn't happen last year."

"What happened this year that didn't happen last year?" Lucy asked; a smirk spread wide on her face.

"L.S. became me a major guild in the games, but what does that have to do with anything?" Violet asked. There was no one there to respond. "Where did she go?" Violet asked the camera.

Suddenly lights in the room turned off.

"Let's go all the way tonight no regrets, just love. We can dance, until we die. You and I will be younger forever!" Lucy and Wendy could be seen onstage looking like normal teenage girls in skinny jeans and off-shoulder tees. "You make me feel like I'm livin' the teenage dream. The way you turn me on, I can't sleep. Let's run away and don't ever look back, don't ever look back."

"My heart stops," they put heir hands over their hearts and dramaticly fell to the ground, "when you look at me," they started to reach for each other on the floor, "just one touch," their fingers met and they rose to their knees, hands touching. "Now baby, I believe, " finally they were standing. "This is real, so let's take a chance," their gaze finally broke when the snapped their head to the crowd, "and don't ever look back, don't ever look back."

"I'mma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jean. Be your teenage dream tonight. I'll let you put your hands on me in my skin-tight jeans. Be your teenage dream tonight."

"Let's go all the way tonight," Chelia joined the L.S. Girls on stage.

"No regrets," Mira and Juvia excitedly joined in too followed by a reluctant Cana, reluctant to leave her drink that is.

"Just love," Lisana dragged Erza up on stage.

"We can dance," the Cross Sisters appeared out of nowhere.

"Until we die," Candy managed to get Luxxy, surprisingly Shoko, and even more surprisingly Violet on stage.

"You and I," Minerva even found a place on crowded stage.

"Will be young forever," Macy and Summer from Wolf Clan, the guild waring with the other guilds, managed to squeezed in.

Then the chorus began, and by some feat of magic, so did an impromptu dance final. "You make me feel like I'm livin' the teenage dream," the mages' hand lifted into the air and down again just like when Lucy and Wendy did the chorus the first time. "When you turn me on, I can't sleep. Let's run away and don't ever look back, don't ever look back."

"My heart stops when you look at me," the girls' dramatically fell to the ground. "just one touch, now Bach I believe," slowly they reached for a partner and began yet again to do the choreography Lucy and Wendy performed before. "This is real, so take a chance and don't ever look, don't ever look back."

"I'mma get heart racing in my skin-tight jean. Be your teenage dream tonight. Let you put your hands on me in my skin-tight jeans. Be your teenage dream tonight." The music had stopped behind the girls as they sang a capella.

"Well, that was fun!" Violet said.

"You can say that agian," Luxxy commented.

"Well,-"

"Not literally," Luxxy stopped her senior mid-sentence. Violet nodded.

"As you can see the women of the guilds have joined together and become...allies in this war between the guilds, but the men as you can see are still-" a table flew past and hit Josh in the head, "fighting."

"Ow!" Violet screamed.

"Please tell me you didn't break a nail." Shoko deadpanned.

"No, something shocked me."

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry," Luxxy wailed. Tent icily the blonde touched the steaming Violet.

"What do you mean your sorry?" Josh asked from the floor.

"What is up with you reporters being so resilient to normal injuries that would hurt even that Flame Brain kid over there?" Shoko asked.

"Duh, this is the Grand Magic Games," Candy stated.

"Thanks, I didn't know that," Shoko said sarcastically.

"You're welcome~," The sarcasm was lost on Candy.

"Sometimes my magic goes a little wonky," Luxxy said after the judges' exchange.

"Your magic?" Josh and Violet simulation outlay asked.

"Yeah, I'm a lightning mage."

"Ooooo, like Laxus?"

"Not exactly like Uncle Laxus because he is a dragon slayer and all."

"Wait back up a bit," Josh was standing now, "Unlce Laxus?"

"Yeah, he is the master of my guild and trained me in the art of Lightning magic."

"Really, so you and that blonde hair, gray eyed hunk trained together!"

"Blonde hair, gray eyed," Josh quoted under his breath while looking at the blonde haired gray eyed junior reporter before him. "Wait a second!" A large bolt of lighting hit Josh at that moment. Every light and electronic blew up in an array of sparks.

Screens across Fiore went black...again.
