I've been on a very long hiatus from this website, and for that i apologize. Life often has a way of making us stray from things we once loved to do and this was no exception of mine. I don't know if ill update regularly, but ill certainly try to see this through to the end (well, this and You Found Me). But at any rate, heres another chapter to post while i work on the next. :3

The group ran quickly and were halfway through their trek before they stopped at a stream for a break. The small ninken pups were completely exhausted with Akamaru not faring much better. Kagome sat quietly on the bank of the river watching Kiba pet Akamaru and the pups. Kiba spoke up from his spot

"Maybe we should do a summon to take them home. They don't have quite the stamina that we do."

"Maybe you're right." Kagome conceded. "Akamaru," she called, "Make sure Shippo gets home safe and give him this note."

Kagome tucked a small note for the young ninja into the dogs headband. Kiba did a few hand signs and smacked the ground. In a puff of smoke, a small brown dog appeared.

"Whatcha need sir?" the dog asked in a deep voice.

"Pakkun, I need you to escort them back to the village. They wont be able to keep

up our pace with this trip." He answered.

"Yes sir!" the dog responded and called the three dogs to follow.

Kagome walked silently over to Kiba. "Who was that?" she asked.

"That's Pakkun, hes a ninken summon of Kakashi's." he answered.

"He can talk?" she asked quizzically.

"Hes the only one that can talk." He said simply. "I don't know why, though."

Kagome just watched the group walk into the sunset before turning back to Kiba, "we should get going." She said.

"I agree. Just let me know if you get tired." He retorted with a devilish smirk.

"Ha, only one of us that'll get tired is going to be you, pup." Kagome answered with a laugh.

"We'll see about that!" Kiba exclaimed as the pair shifted into their wolf bodies and ran deeper into the countryside.
