CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT:

HUMAN NATURE

"Lucy," Narcissus replied coolly, he had a tendency to do that now a days. Her eyes narrowed to slits.

"I'm upset with you," she stated.

"That is all too obvious, my dear."

"Don't get cocky with me!"

"But, it is ever so easy."

"And your as frustrating as ever."

"Now, now, dear, what has you spouting nonsense I'm always an angel."

"Ha," she spat. "First of all Narcissus you are toying with the games."

"Ah," he clicked his tongue, glancing at her under the brim of his hat, "well, if that is case, please, call me Wrath."

"And you can call me Princess."

"Embracing your title now, eh?"

"You kidnapped one of my guild members," she ignored his question.

"Yes, little Gemini."

"Wrath, what you did is unforgivable."

"And did I ask for forgiveness, Princess?"

She could only glare harder.

"You were never the best at diplomacy," he sighed. "Tell, dear, what are you here for; you don't summon me without cause."

Lucy released a heavy sigh. "You are setting up the grounds to start a war Narcissus, one I don't want to have."

"So you came for that silly matter. I thought you had more tact than that. I thought my father was smarter than that."

"Stop with the insults, and address the matter at hand."

"If you say so, Princess, but you will not be happy with what you hear, I can assure you."

"Fine," she made a motion for him to continue.

"We aren't unintentionally setting up war; we were planning it for ages, but now is the only time to do it."

"You are despicable." Lucy stomped away.

"You're weak, Princess," he said his voice carrying.

SHe snarled, "When I first met you, you were compassionate. You're father; he thinks you are the greatest thing since magic itself! What happened to you?!"

Wrath flew forward, "You have mentioned my father one too many times," he growled.

"He loves you Narcissus."

"Love doesn't exist."

"And that is way you do this? Is that why you run? or hide? Is that why you keep up this charade?" she ran out of breathe, "You know what, I don't care. You have declared war, and I know you will use the worst of means to win, but I won't. I will be honest and true; I will show you how to be a proper human being."

"I stop being human centuries ago." He was gone in a whirl of light.
