After a few seconds, Leo broke the kiss but didn't go back to struggling. Dakota opened his eyes to look at her and saw her cheeks pink with blush as she stared at him, wide-eyed. He smiled at her and kissed her forehead before walking backwards, pulling her with him before spinning around so she fell forward onto the bed and he grabbed a pair of sweats that were on the dresser and pulled them on quickly before she realized he had been nude unless she already had realized this.

She rolled over so she was on her back, giggling and in that moment, Dakota knew she had realized his embarrassment. Normally Dakota wasn't embarrassed about someone swing him naked, because he grew up in a wolf pack that hunted weekly, but with Leo, it was different. He looked at her and she stared back, still giggling.

"It's kinda hard not to notice someone naked when you feel them pressed against you," she giggled, obviously realizing his embarrassment.

"I'm glad you okay now," Dakota smiled as he sat next to her, trying to ignore his embarrassment.

"You look cute when you are embarrassed and blushing," she whispered as she brought a hand to her stomach and took a breath.

"Are you okay?" Dakota immediately became concerned.

"Too much excitement," she whispered, her voice laced with pain.

"I'm sorry..."

"It wasn't you it was the struggling. Sorry about that..."

"Were you dreaming about the Nightbloods?"

"No..." Her voice became sad and angry at the same time. "He's still fucking alive and acted like I was still a happy child to see him..."

"Wait, what?" Dakota was thoroughly confused now.

"My supposedly dead father came to me in a dream..." She trailed off and stared at the ceiling. "That sounds so wrong, I'm going crazy..."

"No, you're not," Dakota whispered, slowly understanding the foreign scent in her blood. "It is possible for a vampire to contact someone through dreams..."

"My father is not a vampire!" Leo growled as she sat up suddenly.

"We don't know that Leo," Dakota spoke calmly as he watched her fall back on the bed as she convulsed slightly in pain. "It's been what, almost ten years since he disappeared?"

"How do you know that?" Leo groaned.

"I heard you talking to Maiya. Speaking of which she should be here soon to rebandage your wounds." Dakota looked at the clock on the nightstand and stared at the red digits.

"And here I am, I'm never late. Oh my, looks like I've missed the excitement..." Maiya spoke as she strode in with her bag. Leo growled at her and Dakota shivered slightly at the anger she let off in that growl. "You think she was one of us. Dakota, your father wants to speak with you."

"I'm not leaving Leo..."

"The pack is here Dakota, we don't have time for you to act all clingy to your human," Maiya snapped. "Master Nelson wants you to go up immediately. My orders are to bring the human up when I'm done dressing her wounds."

"Don't talk to me like I'm not here and I do have a name," Leo muttered but didn't look at anyone as she glared at the ceiling.

"Fine," Dakota sighed. He touched Leo's hand and felt her flinch away slightly. "See ya soon Leo."

Dakota got up and walked out, feeling his heart heavy. She had flinched away from him because he accused her dad of being a vampire. Dakota sighed as he entered the main floor and caught the scent on his pack in the other room as he walked to the second floor where his father waited.

"So you actually came... What's wrong?" Andrew asked as he stared at his son.

"Leo's supposed dead father contacted her in a dream," Dakota spoke quietly as he stared at his father.

"So it's true..."

"What's true?" Dakota snapped.

"I'm sure by now that you can smell the foreign scent in Leo's body, I can smell it on you. Maiya found Vampire toxins in her blood yesterday. We were not sure if it was from the accident, if she had been bitten or injected with a tracker, but what you told me confirms something about Leo. She isn't human, nor is she a Supernatural like us or the Nightbloods.

"So what she's some kind of hybrid?" Dakota snapped.

"No, she is more human than hybrid of anything but with her open wounds the pack will think she's one of them..."

"And you'll still have Maiya bring her up?!"

"Leo cannot stay trapped in that room forever. Her stepfather told me that she might get rebellious at some point and try to escape. Also the pack has gathered because of her. The Nightbloods are sure to attack again once Leo is outside the manor. It took three to attack her both times, the first you stopped, the second humans showed up and stopped. They will bring more next time they attack. They might be after her father if he's alive."

"Maiya told you what Leo told her?"

"Yes..." A growl from the main floor stopped their conversation and they dashed out of the office and jumped down to the first floor where the pack had left the living room and surrounded Leo who stood there alone. "Back off! She is under the protection of my family!"

"You bring some vampire into your home?!" Someone hissed as the pack backed away slowly and Dakota dashed forward and caught Leo as her legs gave out.

"She is not a vampire," Dakota growled.

"No, she's just not human," another sneered.

"She is why we have summoned you. The Nightbloods are after her," Andrew spoke as he came to stand by Dakota while he cradled Leo in his arms, shaking in fear. "She has been marked by vampires but she is not one of them."

"What is that supposed to mean?" A woman snapped. "Andrew you have never been one to be vague about an answer. As our alpha, you are required to tell all truth, not fib around."

"Stephanie, it is not that simple. As you call can see and smell, Leo is wounded and marked. Three weeks ago, the Nightbloods attempted their second attack. We know that if they attack twice to try and get an answer, they will do it again," Andrew growled.

"What makes one human tainted by vampiric toxins so special?"

"They cannot roll her mind," Dakota spoke quietly as he held Leo closer as she wrapped her arms around his neck and hid her face. It went silent and Dakota felt Leo cringe in his arms.

"Dakota child, you do not know what Vampires do. One average human cannot just be born with the immunity from being swayed by a vampire," Stephanie walked forward, her strawberry red hair pulled up into a high ponytail. She wore a black leather corset and red leather pants tucked into black knee high boots.

"'Average...?'" Leo's voice was soft but everyone heard her anger. Dakota helped her stand and she glared at the red head. "You think a bunch of bloodsuckers decided to come after an average human? You think that an average human would have survived two attacks from bloodsuckers one being almost rape? If I were some fucking average human, I wouldn't be standing in the middle of a pack of mongrels?"

"Leo..." Dakota warned.

"Don't think I have forgiven you," Leo snapped as she spun on Dakota. "How dare someone like you insult my father of being some vampire?! You never met him! I know what my father was and still is and he is not some fucked up Supernatural being!"

"How dare you...?!"

Stephanie became silent as Leo collapsed to her hands and knees, they all heard her coughing and gasping for air. Soon the stench of tainted blood filled the air as Leo gagged. Dakota knelt one one side of Leo while Andrew knelt on the other and they saw black blood on the ground.

"What's happening?" Dakota asked as Leo coughed out more blood.
