The spear was caught beneath my boot but only for a moment. But a moment was all I needed to put my blades through his chest. He fell to the ground with the bodies of his brothers.
Looking around, the fight had ended almost as fast as it begun. My companions walked up to my side mostly un- hurt.
Qunari blood stained the Keep floors.
I couldn't help the shiver that ran up my spine.
"You are basalit-an after all. Few in this city, command such respect." The Arishok approached me again, his presence less intimidating than it had been merely moments ago.
"I am going to pretend I understood what you just said."I said back to him as I replaced my daggers onto my back. I couldn't help the comment. I was tired of playing along with things. I was tired of fighting. At this point I was just tired. The pounding in my head was reaching pass what I could tolerate. My eyes were blurring and unfocused.
But I still stood there looking up at this giant purple creature.
"So tell me, Hawke," I prepped myself. "You know I am denied Par Vollen until The Tome of Koslun is found."
"We'll go with that."
The Arishok continued to speak, not hearing my words. "How would you see this conflict resolved without it?"
"I believe I can answer that." I turned to see Bella walking into the room holding what I assumed could only be the Tome of …
I have the money just take it and leave us alone.
My mind flickered.
"The Tome of koslun." The Arishok accepted the book with open hands. "I am sure You will find it mostly undamaged. " I blinked and tried to refocus my surroundings. " It took me awhile to get it back here, what with all the fight everywhere." Bella turned to me and once again I saw the flash. Her clothes were different, tear tracks were fresh on her eyes.
I blinked and once again she was wearing what little clothing she usually did, bandanna, piercings and all.
I turned back to the Arishok as he passed the book into the hands of one of his soldiers.
"The relic has been returned. I am free to return to Par vollen."
Looks like it's all here then.
No. I reached for Bella's hand and gave it a squeeze to steady myself. Focus.
"With the theif."
"WHAT?!" We both spoke in unison.
"She stole the Tome of Koslun. She must return with us." He spoke the words as if it should have been obvious.
"No." Absolutely not! She isn't going anywhere with you! I gripped y head in pain even as I knew the words were already spoken.
"Lea? Are you alright?" Bella placed a caring hand on my shoulder.
You can do this, girl. Focus.
I nodded, answer more the voice in my head than my friend standing beside me. "She isn't going anywhere." I said the words with more force behind them and held the Arishok's gaze.
He seemed somewhat pleased with this choice and moved behind to retrieve what I can only tell was a sword and an axe. The sword was of some strange design. Hoisting it up and onto his shoulder, her Turned back to where we stood.
"I challenge you, Hawke." He stood before holding his weapon in a leisurely position. "You and I will fight to the death with her as the prize." He gestured to Bella who looked so angry she could set the room ablaze with her glare. "What shit?1 NO! If you're going to duel anyone, duel me."
The Arishok looked to his blade, bored. "You are no basalit-an. You are not worthy."
"I accept." I spoke the words before I could even stop myself.
"Lea, You can't-" I stopped Bella's train of thought before she could convince me otherwise.
Looking toward the Arishok, I Unclasped my daggers and took the stance Sebastian had taught me in practice. The stance that seemed to come to easily now. "Shall we?" I made the first move getting a running start I leaped into the air and tried to run my blades across his chest. He blocked with his Axe shoving me back on to the ground. I staggered back a little almost losing my footing but I recovered Just quick enough to block an attack from his axe. But I wasn't quick enough for the sword, and felt the cool metal sting as if sliced through my armor, breaking some skin. I could see the thin trickle of blood start to form.
The Arishok smiled in satisfaction. Bracing himself, he came charging. Dropping one of my daggers, I pushed up and flipped over him as he came at me. Turning I dragged my blade down the side of his back, causing him to scream out in pain. Falling onto my bleeding side, I rolled out of the way of a retaliation attack. His blade lodged into the floor and I kicked it, knocking it from his grasp.
Recovering my stance, I held my blade out in defense.
The Arishok was bent over before me, Blood dripping down his back. Taking a deep breath, he gave what I thought to be a battle cry as he began his charge. Dropping my hand from my injured side, I copied. I had spotted my blade on the floor before taking charge, and just as The Arishok got close enough to make contact, I ducked to the left and grabbed the blade. Without, taking a break, I kept momentum. I could hear the foot steps behind me as the Arishok followed.
Without a second thought, I ran straight at the pillar in front of me.
I hope this works
Trust your instincts.
I ran up the pillar and pushed off flipping behind me. I saw the Arishok Stop and stagger confused. I smiled and twisted down, bring my blades across his back once more. He screamed in pain and turned to face me, Trying to swing his axe in defense. I dodge and ducked easily, my smile growing As my blade came across his skin over and over again.
Finally he fell to the floor cut up and bloodied.
I could hear his ragged breathing as I walked up to him. I dropped my daggers when I came close enough to see he wasn't getting up.
I brought my hand back to my side. With the adrenaline wearing off, I could feel the pain of the injury completely now. Looking down, I see my armor soaked on the side with blood.
Lea! What in the hell is wrong with you?
My eyes flashed and the throbbing was making my head feel like it was about to explode. I felt my side strain as the pain in my head got worse and with it my reaction.
The last thing I remember was Damien… Sebastian, running to me as my body fell to the ground.
Sebastian Caught Lea just before her had could hit the floor. Anders wasn't far Behind him and quickly bgan working his magic to stitch her side wound. She had lost so much blood fighting. How could she be so careless? How could she be so stupid? Was she trying to die?
Sebastian glanced at the mage, remembering what he had told him the last time she had fell unconscious.
This time she might not come back.
Isabella walked past him breaking him from his thoughts. She stopped just in front of them, staring at the dying creature.
Looking her straight in the eyes, The Arishok spoke his last words. "One day… We...Will...Return..." The creature collapsed on the steps dead. The Qunari around them all left, taking none of the dead with them.
"Get Lea out of here." Bella spoke the words almost emotionlessly.
But Sebastian could read her better than that.
Scooping up Lea, He secured in his arms, cradling her head against his chest.
"Let us go Anders."
The mage nodded and followed as he began his walk out of the keep. Bringing his face down to hers, he gave her a small kiss and whispered:
"Lea please .Don't give up."
A/N I am so sorry for skipping some stuffs but I dislike meeting Meredith and Orsino and thought it could ave been done so much better in the game. Plus I am not sure if this fic will extend to the final year so meeting them would be kindaaaaaa pointless. So the next chapter I believe will mostly be in Sebastian's view. Gotta figure out this fade stuff XD Please for give my terrible fight scenes btw I'm trying to make those better lol R&R
