A/N so from here on, Time to be creative right ;)
Sebastian paced the floor as Anders explained what was happening to the rest of their companions.
They had managed to get Lealia back quickly enough to properly take care of her wound, but soon after they began starting to wonder if she would wake.
Isabella had been the first to come to them, she entered the room quietly and stone faced. She took a spot leaning on the wall beside where Aveline sat, staring into the fireplace.
Anders sat by Lea, watching patiently for any change. The mage had taken to a wine bottle shortly after healing Lealia, Taken gulps here and there as he watched her with close eyes.
Fenris and Varric arrived shortly after that. Both had been at the hanged man during the attack and after securing the pub as a safe haven, they along with some other had searched the streets for survivors and wounded.
Merrill was the last to show, bloodied and bruised, but smiling. "I've never had to do quite so much by myself before." The elf said after she had explained what had happened in the alienage. A small group of Qunari had managed to break off and find their way there. Merrill, being one of the only ones there who knew how to, had to fight her way through them to get her and the others to safety. "I do wish I could have done better." The elf's face dropped in sadness. She had not been able to save everyone.
"You did what you could, daisy, and that's the best you can offer." Varric sat against the wall on the far side of the room, exhaustion clear on his face.
"What about, Hawke." Isabella didn't take her eyes off the fire. The pirate stood stone faced, thinking Maker only knows what.
That is when the pacing began. As Anders began to tell them about Lealia. Trapped in the fade. But trapped wasn't the right word. Whatever is happening to Lealia is happening because she wanted it to happen. To some extent anyway.
"You had said this is form of grieving." Sebastian stopped his pacing, thoughts racing through his mind. "Before when she had fallen ill, you told me she was using this as a way to cope."
Anders nodded. "Aye." Anders rose from his seat and looked down at Lealia. "It's more than that though." He ran his hands over her body, a soft blue glow emanating as he used his magic to sense her spirit. "Something is keeping her there." He dropped his hands and hung his head. "I sense a world of desire. Her desire. Beyond that I am lost."
"Isn't there a way you could send someone into the fade? I could have sworn I read about it somewhere." Merrill became lost in thought after the suggestion but Sebastian could not help the hope he began to feel.
"Can it be done?" He turned to Anders who was already shaking his head. "I don't know I believe it can be but I would have to do the proper research before even thinking about doing such a thing."
Sebastian nodded and looked down at Lealia. Her face seemed so peaceful, so at ease. He almost did not want her to wake. The city was in nothing but chaos right now with the viscount dead, but here in front of him lays the killer's killer.
He raised his hand and brushed some loose strands of hair from her face.
Killing the Arishok was no simple feat, and many realize that. Could Lea possible handle the responsibility should the throw it upon her because of this?
"We need to rest. Orana!" Sebastian called for the spunky little elf and she appeared almost too quick.
"Yes, Master Vael?" Sebastian couldn't help the twitch at the word master, but he hated to chastise the poor thing for her old habits.
He simply offered the woman a small smile, "We would like to stay here with Lealia, if that is ok?"
"Of course. I am sure The Mistress would love to have you all. I shall go and make up the rooms. How many?" She turned to the room and began to count faces.
"5." Orana, confused, turned to the room and counted again. "Anders and I will be staying in here with Lealia."
The mage turned to him shocked a bit and Sebastian couldn't help the scowl that came to him. "Do not flatter yourself. You are to remain here in case she needs you. I will remain to watch you."
Anders rolled his eyes. "Yeah, sure."
Orana left the room and returned with blankets and pillows for Sebastian and Anders. She helped them set up their areas before showing the others to their own rooms.
The door closed behind them and the room became quiet.
"You know you aren't fooling anyone." Anders sat against the wall on the other side of the fire place. He looked at Sebastian with humor as he played with a small knife, flipping it in his hands, between his fingers. Sebastian watched the blade with cautious eyes, waiting to see if the mage would be stupid enough to try something.
"Relax, Choir boy." He stabbed the knife into the floor beside him, its red colored hit sticking straight up into the air. "I am not fast enough to do anything with this." Something about the knife made Sebastian feel uneasy.
Sebastian met the man's eyes. "I do not know what you are talking about." Anders laughed. "I supposed you could play stupid for this one." He sighed.
"Lealia." He spoke her name as a whisper, so lo Sebastian barely even heard him. He rose from the ground and slowly walked to the bedside table where sat a bottle of wine. Picking up the bottle, He glanced at the label, shrugged and opened the bottle. He brought the bottle over to where Sebastian sat and offered it to him. He declined with curious eyes.
Anders shrugged and took a gulp from the bottle. "I see the way you look at her."
Sebastian felt his caution return. He stared at the mage, sizing him up.
"Maker, Vael, I am trying not to be a dick." Anders handed him the bottle again but this time he took, taking a much smaller sip than him. He still did not acknowledge the mage's words though.
Anders sighed. "I am not going to lie, Vael." Anders turned and looked him in the eyes and Sebastian was shocked to see how calm the man looked. He had been drinking for some time, but Sebastian had barely noticed the change. There was no rage or hate in his eyes. He looked tired still yes, but now even more so. And from this distance, not a single spark of blue from the spirit could be found in his eyes.
"I love her." The mage continued speaking as he reached for the bottle in Sebastian's hand. He took another gulp. "I have loved her since the day I met her. She is beautiful, strong, courageous; everything I could ask for in a woman." He stopped and gave Sebastian a sad smile handing him the bottle.
"But she… Loves you."
Sebastian opened his mouth to protest but the mage held up a hand to stop him. "I am not drunk yet. But I have had enough to quiet the voice." Sebastian assumed he spoke of Justice. "I see the way she looks at you, the way she talks to you." Sebastian couldn't help but take another gulp of wine.
"Why are you telling me this?" He asked trying to keep a straight face as the wine worked its way down his throat.
"Should I figure a way into the fade, you will want to be the one to go get her or at least one of the ones, correct?"
Sebastian carefully thought about where the mage was going. "Aye."
Anders rose from the floor beside him and took the bottle from his grasp.
"Well what if you are one of her desires?"
A/N soooooo in my opinion, Anders wasn't trying to be a dick but he was still a dick XD I wanted really hard for them to have like a bro moment but idk I just couldn't see it. But now Sebastian knows he could well be one of Lealia desires (we already know he is XD) R&R next chapter we see how Lea's doing after the "encounter" with Bella I honestly dk what is gonna happen here so stay tuned !_!
