Alright friends lets get into this but before that I'd like to beg you guys to go check out my other RWBY story called The KINGs Men, Im putting a lot of effort into it and hope you guys like it. Enjoy.
Fidelis closed his eyes and took a deep breath before reaching into his pocket and withdrawing a small bottle of pills. Ignoring the looks he was getting from the girls he popped two back and pocketed the bottle. His hands were shaking so he clenched them tight before unclenching them a few times.
"You okay boss?" Clef asked him before placing a hand on his shoulder.
Fidelis was silent for a moment before looking up at him and clearing his throat. "Yeah, I just have a thing with the ocean. I'll be fine." Fidelis reassured his eccentric partner and turned to the girls. "Alright ladies listen up, sense the pilot tried to make radio contact multiple times and we made no attempt to remain undetected on our approach, everyone aboard should be well aware of our presence. Now seeing as we've already been aboard for about three minutes and haven't seen any sign of a welcoming party I believe its a safe bet to say one of three situation that I can think of off the top of my head are happening right now."
Fidelis hopped up on top of a small shipping crate to get a better view from his spot on the port bow end of the ship. "The first is that the ship was raided by pirates who took the crew and passengers hostage or killed them, while they make multiple back and forth trips to sack the ship for anything worth selling on the black market. Though I doubt this is the case because pirates are sloppy and we would have seen some sign that they were here. Possibility two is that the entire crew evacuated and abandoned ship, but again I doubt this."
Ruby piped up. "Why?"
Fidelis pointed to the side of the ship while not looking himself. "A ship of this size would probably have around five hundred people on board which would require a large number of life boat to evacuate them all, I've only notice a few missing." Fidelis hopped back down and approached the group. "The final possibility is simply that something on board has killed the crew and passengers and any survivors are probably hiding. Sense this ship is so large we're going to have to split up to search. This is suppose to be a learning opportunity so instead of working with you usual partners we will be changing things up a bit. Ruby and Yang will come with me, and so both teams will have a faunus with night vision Blake and the Schnee will go with Clef. Any questions?"
"What do we do if we make contact with any survivors or hostiles?" Blake asked.
"Secure a safe zone if you find any survivors and direct anymore to said safe zone. As for hostiles, well just be smart about it. Don't jump blindly into a fight and get yourselves killed. God forbid you make me happy. Alright Clef, you take your team an search the back half of the ship including the control tower and I'll take mine to search the front and the cargo hold. Lets head out." Fidelis declared as the two teams nodded and parted ways with Clef making his way towards the control tower while Fidelis opened a door and began heading into the pitch black bowls of the ship.
After walking down two flights of stairs Fidelis stopped and pulled out his scroll and typed a few things in. "Shit, no signal. Looks like we'll have to find them the hard way later." Fidelis then began leading the two down a hallway.
"Hey bandage man." Yang said breaking the silence.
"Just call me Fide, call it a hunch but I'm pretty sure by the end of this mission you guys will know who I really am. So I figured I'd just make my life easier and not have to remember to answer to a fake name." Fidelis interrupted and left the girls confused with what he said.
"Ooooookay, well Fide I was wondering why you paired me and Ruby up if you wanted us to learn to work with new people? I mean sense we're sisters it should go without saying that we already know how to work together." Yang reasoned.
Fidelis chuckled slightly. "To be honest I just said all that about learning to work with other people so that I wouldn't have to work with Belladonna or the Schnee. Out of the four of you Ruby is my favorite because she actually cared enough to listen to my life story back at that bakery." Ruby's face lit up in shock as she realized where she'd heard his voice before. "You blondie, are my second favorite simply because you've never done anything to piss me off or get on my bad side. And finally tied for last are those two, I honestly can't tell who I hate more between them. Blake for what she did to one of my best friends, or the Schnee for what her family has done to my race for so long."
"Your the White Mask!" Ruby shouted while pointing, hearing this also caused Yang to look surprised and fall into a defensive stance while Fidelis only sighed.
As Ruby began reaching for her weapon and Yang activated her gauntlets Fidelis just stood there. "Yeah thats me, though in my defense I didn't come up with that incredibly uncreative name."
"Give me one reason why we shouldn't kick your ass right now and turn you into Ozpin when this is over." Yang practically spat.
Fidelis laughed again. "I could give eight but I'll settle for my two favorites. First is that if you turn me in to Ozy I can guarantee people will die and lives will be ruined that didn't need to be, this is also why Blake hasn't said anything even though she's known since the day I got to Beacon." This made the two look surprised that their friend would keep something like this from them.
"Whats the other reason?" Ruby asked meekly.
"This." Fidelis bolted towards Yang and kneed her in the gut causing her to bend over, he followed this up with an elbow to the back of the head sending her to the floor. He turned to Ruby who was still registering what was happening and grabbed her weapon before pushing her away with his foot. He twirled the weapon and turned it into its scythe form. As Yang began to try and get up he slid the blade of the scythe right under her chin where she laid on the floor. He then placed his foot on the back of her head and pushed down until her chin was just touching the blade. If he wanted he could decapitate the girl at any time just by adding more pressure to her head.
Fidelis looked over to Ruby who seem to be afraid to move, scared that any movement could result in her losing her sister. "Ruby." She heard him say and she looked up to see a look she didn't expect, he looked apologetic. "I understand that you have no reason to trust me, but do you remember what I told you about my mother?"
Ruby nodded and her frown deepened when she though about it.
"Well the only thing of hers that I have left is the name she gave me. Fidelis, it means faith or loyalty. I'm a lot of bad things, a killer, a criminal, a liar and a thief. But there is one thing I'll never do because it would besmirch the name she gave me, I will never betray my friends or those I've given my word to." Fidelis then took his foot off of Yang's head and removed the blade from her neck and handed the weapon to Ruby who took it with a confused look on her face as she looked up and saw the sincerity in Fidelis's eyes. "I give you my word that I am only at Beacon to stay away from men who are after me. Men so evil I doubt hell itself could stomach them. So I ask you this as one of the two humans to know who I really am and what I look like." He extended his arm towards her slowly with his hand in a fist. "Trust me."
Ruby stared at the extended hand and thought about it all before closing her eyes and taking a breath. She looked at Yang who had picked herself up and was surprisingly quiet and listening. Ruby turned back to Fidelis and nodded before raising her fist to hit his. "Okay." Hearing this actually made Fidelis smile under his bandages. "Though after this mission you and I are gonna have a long chat about how you treat my friends!"
Fidelis chuckled and turned to begin walking down the hall again. "Fine, now lets get back to work."
With Clef
Clef, Weiss and Blake were all making their way towards the control tower with Blake leading the way sense she was the only one who could see more than a few feet ahead. They had been walking in relative silence until Weiss decided to break it.
"So, Clef Alto was it? Do you share the same feelings as your partner about my family?" Weiss asked mainly because she wanted to know whether or not to be expecting a knife in the back.
Clef laughed. "Me? Nah, I got know problem with you Weiss my girl. In fact I dated your sister for a few months! How is Winter doing by the way?" Clef asked like he didn't just rock Weiss's world.
"You dated Winter?!"
"Yep, I still remember the day we met. I had broken into your companies headquarters in hopes of gaining a audience with your father. I wanted to pitch him the idea of dust laced undergarments, but by the time I got to the thirty fifth floor I wound up being discovered by your security and hastily fled through multiple random corridors and door ways before I ended up in a room where a beautiful young woman sat behind a desk doing paper work. After serenading her with my trusty guitar we began discussing my pitch. Unfortunately it wasn't to her liking and I invited her to join me for a light dinner. Good times." Clef reminisced. (A/N Im just assuming Winter is older than Weiss and works for the company.)
"How come I've never heard of you?"
Clef let out a sad sigh. "Unfortunately Winter requires a better man than I. I fear that she just couldn't accept that the winds of life were calling me elsewhere and she said she couldn't wait for me forever. It was not a pleasant separation, though I do hope she is healthy and happy."
Weiss really wanted to be more surprised about all this but after thinking about it Winter always did have a thing for eccentric men. She was about to continue the conversation when Clef grabbed Blake's shoulder and stopped her from walking any further, he also raised his hand to stop Weiss. "I'm afraid we are not alone here." He said in a oddly serious voice for him.
Weiss and Blake both drew their weapons while Clef just knelt down on one knee and placed his hand flat on the ground and closed his eyes. He stay like this for almost a full minute before he reopened his eyes. "It's gone, whatever it was something else got its attention." In the distance the three heard a muffled explosion that caused the ship to vibrate under their feet.
"That came from where they were headed!" Blake shout as she looked ready to head towards the noise to see if her friends were okay but was stopped by Clef's arm extending in front of her.
She looked into his miss matched colored eyes. "No, we have a job to accomplish. All three of them are more than capable of taking care of themselves. Besides I can tell they are all in good health. We need to continue moving towards our objective with haste! Whatever is aboard this ship with us is not grimm and I fear it may return." As he said this he withdrew a short sawed off shotgun from his coat and loaded two fresh shells before continuing but this time taking the lead.
"Whatevers on board this ship, is very ill news."
Hell yeah, we're on a super spooky ship in the middle of the night with who knows whats out there. Fidelis is also putting his trust in Ruby HOWEVER I want to make it clear that he sees her at nothing more than a friend and only really even feels that way is because of a certain reason that will be revealed in the future. Anyway tell me what yall thought in the reviews and check out my other stories. LATER.
