Hey guys I just got back from vacation so sorry to keep y'all waiting. It's time for everything we've all been waiting for, it's all built up to this. This is where everything begins.
Two hours earlier
"All around me are familiar faces, warn out places warn out faces. Bright and early for the daily-" Roman sang softly to himself as he sat in his cell, however his song was cut short when his cell door open with Neo standing there. Roman stood up and stretched a bit. "What's the deal, I thought the show didn't start for a few more hours?"
Neo pulled out her scroll and started typing. 'There's been a change in plans, I just got a message from Fide read it.' She then pulled up the message that had been sent to her via Jin.
Roman took a minute to read through the message very thoroughly before letting out a long sigh and handing Neo her scroll back. "What do you think of this?" He asked sounding exasperated. "Cuz it sounds to me like that idiot has finally cracked!"
Neo looked down for a moment before she typed out her response. 'I know what you mean, but I trust him in that he knows what he's doing and even if something goes wrong I plan to stand by him.' Roman read this and looked up at the girl he'd known for several years and saw how certain she looked.
After a few seconds he sat back down in the chair of his cell and buried his face in his hands. He sat like this for at least two full minutes. "That stupid mask wearing dumbass, this is probably the stupidest STUPIDEST thing he's ever done. I should put an end to it right fucking now." He ranted before letting out another sigh. "And knowing all of that makes me feel just as fucking stupid." He held out his hand to Neo. "I'm in." She smiled widely at this and threw her arms around Roman's neck while jumping up and down. "Alright alright I get, I've got a heart of gold. That bastard dingo is gonna owe me so many drinks for this. Let's get to work. But first I need to know something Neo." She looked at Roman. "Are you sure this thing you two have isn't just a passing infatuation, do you really love him enough to put your life on the line like this?"
Without a seconds hesitation she began typing. 'I've never been more certain of anything in my life, I love the dumbass with everything in me and I know he loves me to.'
"Fair enough."
With Ruby
Ruby ran out of the service tunnel only to nearly run dead into the barrel of a gun. "How ya doin Ruby?" Emerald asked with her usual fake smile.
"Emerald, why are you doing this?" Ruby demanded looking over the fight.
Emerald laughed before raising her hand towards the ring. "What are you talking about, I haven't done anything."
Ruby immediately felt something off as she looked to her two friends who were fighting in the ring, what happened in the next few seconds would leave a deep scar in her mind for the rest of her life. Just as Penny sent an attack towards Pyrrha, she sent a wave of magnetic force towards the metal girl which forced the wires of her weapons to wrap around her body before quickly bisecting the girl. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Ruby screamed as she fell to her knees and tears welled up in her eyes.
The door to the service tunnel behind her opened and Mercury stepped out dragging a panting and beaten looking Kain behind him. "Oh, I missed it." He chuckled looking over to Emerald who gestured for them to leave. He shrugged before letting go of Kain's collar and dropping him to the ground.
Ruby stared at the center of of the ring ignoring the voice that was now speaking over the loudspeakers. "Penny." She sobbed.
"Ruby." She heard behind her and turned her head to see Kain forcing himself to his feet. "I sorry." He took a step towards her before falling to his knee, Ruby rushed over to her boyfriend and leaned his back against the wall. "I'm so sorry about Penny."
Ruby wiped her eye of the tears. "I know how you feel, and it hurts. But now is not the time to give up." He pointed towards the Nevermore that just landed on the roof of the stadium and the people who were all scrambling to evacuate. Kain grabbed her chin and turned her back to him. "Ruby, I was able to make it through what your going through right now and I know for a fact that your a hell of a lot stronger than I am. You need to stay strong, cuz I have a feeling that we're gonna need all hands on deck to win this fight, okay?"
Ruby sniffled again before wiping her eyes and nose on her sleeve. "Yeah, I understand." She nodded.
"Good, now go out there and fight. I'll be right behind you, just give me a few minutes." Ruby nodded again before leaning in and kissing her boyfriend.
"Thanks Kain, please be safe." And with those words she ran off towards the ring.
Then a voice came over the loudspeaker again. "Hello? Is this shit working?"
Elsewhere
Standing at amidst the gravestones of the Vale cemetery two men stood staring at a pair of gravestones. One smoking a cigarette and holding up a picture. When the sirens began blaring they pulled out their scrolls and listened to a woman give some kind of speech, neither looked to impress as they started walking out of the cemetery.
Once they exited the front gates the smoking one with white hair dropped his smoke and stomped it out. Standing several yards away from the two were several dozen beowolfs of varying sizes and age. Even more jumped from the buildings around them and created a large semicircle. The horde continued to swell until there were at least two hundred grimm.
"Hey Law." Cruor said to his partner as he cracked his neck.
"Sup." Law replied as he activated his gauntlets and grieves.
"Think you can handle this many?" He asked readying his own weapon which was a chainsaw looking sword.
Law looked around at the hundreds of beasts. "Well, it could be tough if one more shows up."
Cruor chuckled. "Then I guess that'll be the one I take out."
Law looked at his partner with mock surprise on his face. "What, you're fighting to?" Cruor ignored his partner and charged.
Law disappeared and reappeared into the crowd of monsters easily shattering their masks one by one with each strike from his arms and legs, he didn't even need to draw the blades sheathe on his back as he made his way through the grimm horde.
After about five minutes everything started to shake around him and something in him told him to duck, as he did a fist flew over where he had been standing. He looked to the one who threw it and drew one of his blades which glowed was almost looked like a rainbow colored light. "Vice."
Elsewhere again
A group of civilians ran towards the evacuation shelter the security droids were doing a good job holding of many of the monsters but it was clear that they weren't going to be enough,
Atop a nearby building watching the chaos stood the ones responsible for everything happening around them. "Why haven't the mechs been changed yet?" Mercury asked his boss who stared at the chaos before them.
"It would seem that our little friend has chosen to side with a certain lunatic." She spoke through her teeth before taking a deep breath and calming down turning her gaze toward a trio of people who were now entering the Beacon tower. "I thought something like this might happen." Cinder pulled out her scroll and quickly sent off a message before jumping down from the building and heading for the tower. Then a message started playing through her scroll.
With Fidelis
Fidelis sat against the wall with his gunbai leaning next to him. He held his scroll in front of him wait for Jin to finish his final task, Cinder had finished her speech several minutes before and he was getting restless. Finally after twenty or so minutes a link popped up on his scroll, he was now linked directly to the CCT.
"Good thing that bitch didn't close the back door she made in the system." He smiled as he entered a few commands and watched the loading bar quickly fill up. Once it was full he smiled, he had just hijacked their broadcast of the chaos.
Screens across Remnant changed from footage of the streets of Vale being overrun with grimm to simply a man wearing a featureless white mask. "Hello? Is this shit working?" He spoke into his scroll.
After clearing his throat he began. "People of Remnant, I am the White Mask of the White Fang. I interrupt your panic inducing broadcast to say some important shit so listen up. I'm not gonna sugar coat this, the city of Vale is pretty much fucked, and if you all continue how you are it's gonna stay that way. Now I'm no saint, I kill people and I like it, but whats happening now... there's nothing about it I can enjoy." Fidelis paused for a moment as he thought of what to say. "The students of the four great combat schools, Huntsmen and Huntresses all over Vale, even the soldiers of Atlas are all fighting a losing battle to protect your sorry asses, and the worst part about it all is that the enemy is only growing stronger with your fear. If you want to have any hope of surviving the night and seeing the morning then I have only one piece of advice for you all. Believe in those who are fighting your battles for you. That bitchy little shit who started all this has a lot more planned and I can guarantee this is all gonna get a lot worse before it gets any better."
"So to everyone whose actually out there doing something and fighting, just know that while it's gonna be hard as shit to achieve, victory is possible." Fidelis paused again before continuing. "And Adam, my old friend if your hearing this. I swore to you long ago that I'd always have your back, after tonight your gonna think I've broken that promise a betrayed you as well, but I haven't. Some day you'll see why I've done this and then you'll understand." Fidelis chuckled. "Maybe then you'll finally admit joining up with that skank was a bad idea. Consider this my resignation from the Fang."
Off to the side a door opened revealing an elevator with three people in it. "Well it seems my time on the mic is up. N if your out there and for some reason I don't see you again, I love you." With that he cut the feed and stood up the greet the trio.
The only one surprised to see him was the young blonde boy who seemed on edge, Fidelis ignored this and walked up to Ozpin. "Is Irondick briefed?"
"Yes though he's less than pleased with this plan of yours."
Fidelis laughed as he walked towards the elevator. "Plan is a rather strong word for this, I prefer 'guided outline of for a preferred outcome' though thats a bit of a mouth full." Fidelis stepped into the elevator and leaned against the wall and waited as the doors closed.
In the city
Clef sat atop a large building looking out over the chaos, the security mechs had all just changed and began firing upon everything that wasn't a grimm. He laughed when he heard Fidelis's message over his scroll. Clef felt power seeping into his body from the air around him but still he frowned at the destruction that filled his mind.
Then everything started to shake and the roads began to crack he closed his eyes as he listened more closely to the sounds around him. He opened his eyes and looked to the mountain that overlooked the city as the peak exploded and a massive grimm burst out and began flying towards the city. Clef stood and watched as the behemoth soared towards Vale, he then pulled out his scroll and looked at a feed that showed two men fighting amidst the chaos, one with pure white hair and the other had half gray half black long hair.
Clef sighed as he put his scroll away. "Four of eight have gathered, all by the hand of our sister. Salem, no Adeptus, you foolish creature." Clef turned around and stepped off the ledge and fell to the streets below.
Beacon
"You go that way I'll take this way!" Rideat shouted to Yang as he ran towards the courtyard, after hearing his brother on his scroll he was certain that he wasn't responsible for what was happening but he'd already run into several White Fang members who he had to take out along side Yang.
As he ran he could see a practical light show of auras of all colors and intensities. For anyone else it would be a beautiful spectacle of color but for Rideat he knew it meant his friends were fighting as well as how tired they were getting. Most importantly he saw Velvet had just pulled out her weapons. He picked up his pace. "Seven hundred meters." He growled as he knew he was still to far.
He could see what they were fight was large and didn't have any aura but did look to be running on dust. "Five hundred." Velvet had just finished off one of the droids and had been about to do the same to the other when she was kicked away by the mech. Rideat growled in deep rage as he saw this and started to push himself as hard as he could. "Three hundred."
Weiss Schnee was like a blur when she moved into position between Velvet and the mech, he almost slowed down in relief when she wrecked the robot with some kind of giant floating sword made of pure aura. Then he saw the next droid that was sprinting towards the group. "One hundred!"
"You have got to be kidding me." A monkey faunus shouted sounding exasperated.
The sprinting three tons of metal was almost twenty feet away when Rideat jumped into the air and slammed into the head to the mech before jamming his metal arm into the unarmored part of the robot and began ripping out pieces of hardware and wires sending dust and sparks flying as he did. "STAY AWAY FROM MY VELVET!" He screamed before ramming his fist down into the gap he made and activated the explosive dust in the palm of his prosthetic and began blasting away at the inside of the mech causing the mech to go limp and fall over and slid across the ground before exploding.
"RIDDY!" Velvet shouted getting up and running towards the flames, as she neared a smoking Rideat covered in ash stepped out of the smoke. "Are you ok-"
She was cut off as he grabbed her and slammed his lips into hers, the two stayed like that for nearly a full minute as everyone watched with their mouths hanging open.
"Remind me never to hit on her." Neptune whispered to Sun who nodded.
With Adam
Adam cut down another Atlas soldier as he moved through the burning mess hall of Beacon academy, his mouth was in a frown however strangely he wasn't angry. When he heard Fidelis's message he wasn't angry, not like he was when Blake left, instead he felt something he hadn't in a very long time, doubt. Blake spent weeks preaching to him about how they were taking the wrong path.
He originally wrote it off as her being soft and over analyzing everything, Fidelis wasn't like that. Fidelis wasn't soft, he was one of the most brutal member in the fang. He didn't over think things, hell he barely thought things over at all. The biggest thing that was weighing on him however was that he knew just how loyal Fidelis was to those he cared about, he'd proven time and time again over the years that he was someone you could always depend on, that made this all so difficult to process.
Adam slashed a student across the chest sending him to the floor. "What do you see that I'm not." He whispered to himself.
"Adam?" He turned his head towards the familiar voice and froze when he saw Blake.
"Hello my love, it's good to see you." He said with a faked confidence. He was already confused and seeing the girl he loved was only making things worse.
"Why are you doing this?! This isn't right!" Blake shouted as she jumped through the window between them weapon drawn and ready.
Adam looked down at the student under his foot and took his foot off him taking a step towards Blake. "This has to be done Blake, it's the only way. Revolution is the only way we will ever reach our goals!" If he was honest with himself he was actually trying to convince himself more then her.
"This isn't what I want!" She shouted swinging her blade towards him only for it to be blocked and a foot to be planted in her gut sending her back to the ground several feet away.
"What you want is impossible. Why are you helping these humans and not your own kind? Why is Fidelis helping them?! What did you say to him to make him betray me?!" As he said this he realized he had drawn his blade and was standing over her. "Why?" He whispered surprising Blake with the sheer confusion in the single word.
"Why can't I see what you two are seeing?! How can you just forget and cast away everything we've made together, all of us?!" He didn't notice the stream of tears that were now seeping out from under the mask he wore. His thoughts were moving to fast for him to get any grip on what was happening, there were so many emotions he was feeling at that moment, to many for him to process.
"Adam." Blake said quietly seeing how distraught her former lover was, she'd never seen him act this way before.
"GET AWAY FROM HER!" A roar of anger grabbed his attention as he saw a girl with flaming blonde hair rushing towards him, on reflex he swung as she jumped at him.
"NO!" Blake screamed as Adam's blade cut cleanly through the blondes arm like butter, the blonde hit the floor hard and held her now missing arm. "YANG!" Blake rushed over to her partner as Adam processed what just happened, it was only by instinct that he turned and blocked a blade that had been aimed for his throat followed by a thrust from a metal spike like staff that he couldn't help but mentally compare to a toothpick.
"I gotta say, I was reluctant to take a tip I got from someone who nearly killed me once, and even more so to do them a favor. But after what I just saw, I think I can get over my hang ups." The white haired boy frowned as he put more weight behind his weapon to try and push Adam back. "The Dead Wind sent me a request to keep you busy until everything else had blown over and then let you go." The boy looked around Adam at Blake who was now carrying Yang away.
"Joel Ambrose." Adam growled as he pushed back against the former Trapper and jumped back himself to put some distance between them. "I've got more important things to deal with than washed up Trappers, so get out of my way!"
"Then how about a real Trapper?" Another voice spoke sounding like someone took sand paper to their throat. Both Adam and Joel turned looking shocked as they saw one of the last people they wanted to see. "I came here for a rematch with Taurus, but I'm sure I can find time for you as well Ambrose. The hand want both your heads anyway." The man took the large black coffin off his back as set on the ground next to him.
Both younger men readied themselves as they looked at the newcomer. Then they spoke in unison. "Plaga."
With Fidelis
Fidelis stood in the elevator as it rose, he hadn't pressed any button so that meant someone else called it and he knew exactly who. As he rode the machine he held his gunbai in front of him. "I know I only just gave you a name, but lets make this fight one to remember old friend." A few seconds later the doors slid open and Fidelis swung his fan sending an incredibly powerful gust of wind into the person standing just in front of the doors sending them flying back into and through a set of metal doors and into the streets outside the tower.
Fidelis shouldered his weapon as he walked out of the building and looked down at the furious woman who was now picking herself up. He smiled as the air around Cinder began to shimmer front the heat she was radiating. "Sup bitch?"
I promised shit would hit the fan and it has, so much shit is going on that I can only hope I manage to get it all right. Thank you Mojo for letting me use Joel again. Tell me what you all think in the reviews. LATER.
