Superstar Stadium Special 2
The lights turn on as the stadium comes alive again with the crowd cheering all across the stadium. Matt came in and said, "Hello, everyone! Welcome to another exciting edition of Superstar Stadium and what a better way to kick off this show by saying hello to our judges! Shall we meet them?"
"YEAH!" The crowd agreed as they cheered.
"Alright then! First up, we have the Glitz Pit veteran, Rawk Hawk!" Matt announced as Rawk Hawk came in to the judges' table.
"Next up, we have the Koopaling with a musical talent. Here's Ludwig!"
Ludwig came in and smiled to the crowd as he stood next to Rawk Hawk.
"Our third judge is the Fire Breath Punisher, Dragon Puncher!" Matt said as Dragon came in with a friendly smile.
"Also joining us today is the winner of the first battle! Here comes the Mushroom Warrior, Toad!" Matt said as Toad came in and sat down next to Dragon.
"And finally, we have the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, Peach!" Matt said as Peach entered the stadium in her sporting gear by blowing a kiss to the crowd before sitting down next to Toad.
Then Matt came to them and said, "Hello, judges!"
"Hi, Matt!" The judges replied.
"So Peach, this is your first time being as a judge. How do you feel about this upcoming battle?" Matt asked her.
"It feels great. I can't wait to see these two combatants go head to head in a battle to the finish. That is what Superstar Stadium is all about and the best part about it is to have fun and to give it your very best." Peach replied with a smile.
Matt agreed with her and said, "You said it, Peach! Well, I hope that you'll do great today."
"Thank you, Matt!" Peach agreed with a friendly smile.
Then Matt came to the referee stand and said, "Alright! Now that we have our judges, it is time to meet... THE COMBATANTS!"
The stadium roared in approval as the spotlight shone on the red door. Matt said, "Our first combatant for today is a Koopaling with a strong attitude. He made his first appearance in Mario Kart 8 as a kart racer and loves to punch with his fists. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the fighting Koopaling... ROY KOOPA!"
Just then, Roy came in to the stadium with a smile as the crowd cheered for him. Then he said, "Pleasure to be here, Matt! I can't believe that this is my first time battling in this place!"
"Of course it is and I hope that you'll do great!" Matt said with a smile.
"Thank you, Matt!" Roy agreed as the spotlight now shines on the blue door.
"And now, let's meet our second combatant for today. He is the Glitz Pit's very first champion and loves to spend time with his sister Jolene. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... PRINCE MUSH!"
Just then, Prince Mush entered the ring as the crowd cheered wildly for him. Matt came to him and said, "Welcome aboard, Mush."
"The pleasure is all mine, Matt! I'm so glad to be in the ring after my first championship victory at the Glitz Pit. This is going to be a great match between me and Roy and after all, this is the Superstar Stadium so, anything can happen here in the ring." Mush replied with a smile.
Matt agreed with him and said, "That is some true words from Prince Mush! Now then, we have a very special guest who is going to be our referee for today. So, let's meet him, shall we? As an enemy, he loves to throw spinies but as a friend, he is always flying on his cloud. He is a referee in various sports and today, he is here in the ring for this amazing battle. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... LAKITU!"
Just then, the special door opened up and Lakitu came in flying in his white cloud with the crowd cheering for him. Then he said, "It's an honor to be here, Matt! I'm so glad to see these two fighters go head to head in what promises to be a spectacular battle to the finish!"
"That's right, Lakitu. The battle is about to begin so, the stage is all yours! Lakitu, take it away!"
Lakitu agreed with him and said, "Thanks, Matt! Alright guys, you know how the battle works! Fight as much as you can for ten minutes. If there is a knockout, then the Knockout Timer will do the rest. If not, then it's up to the judges to decide. Got it?"
"Got it!" Roy and Mush replied at the same time.
"Very good, then! Let's put ten minutes up on the clock, if you would please!" Lakitu announced as the screen shows the time limit. Then he said, "Alright guys, this is it! The moment you hear the buzzer, you may begin. Fighters, are you ready?"
"Ready, Lakitu!" The combatants replied.
"Alright then, here we go! Ladies and gentlemen, let the battle between Roy Koopa and Prince Mush... BEGIN!"
With the word shouted, the lights dimmed all across the stadium and the voice began to speak.
"The game begins, in 3..."
"2..."
"1..." Both fighters assumed their stances.
And then, it's go time.
BEEP!
With the buzzer gone off, both fighters started off with a wide range of melee attacks. Roy did a kick on Mush's chest, while Mush delivered a Mushroom Punch on his face. The stadium cheered for them as the first minute of the battle came off the clock.
As the battle continued on, Lakitu said, "Wow! What a match this is, folks! Both fighters are evenly matched and we still have five minutes and thirty seconds left on the clock. Looks like this is going to be very good as we approach the second half of the match.
After spending nine minutes of fighting time, the ring of light came in, signaling the final minute of the match. The first section turned red as the final countdown began.
Roy held on to his Bullet Bill Blaster and said, "Ready, Mush?"
"Let's finish this, Roy!" Mush replied as he aimed his Bullet Bill Blaster at Roy.
"Thirty seconds!" Lakitu announced as half of the seconds turned red.
Both fighters took aim at the target and said the finishing strike, "Super Bullet Bill Blaster..."
"Fifteen seconds left!"
Both fighters took one final deep breath and then...
It's time.
"FINAL STRIKE!"
With the word shouted, the blasters were fired and out came the Bullet Bills, heading straight for the target. The stadium saw the remaining time and began counting down to the buzzer.
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6..."
Both fighters kept on going with only five seconds left.
"5, 4..."
Not willing to give up, both fighters gave one final shout to deliver the final blow.
"NOW!"
With the word shouted, the Bullet Bills are heading straight for them. Only three seconds separates them from finishing the match.
"3, 2, 1..."
Both fighters braced themselves for impact and then...
BOOM!
BEEP!
It's a direct hit just as the final buzzer went off.
Laskitu saw it all and said, "Wow! Now that is what I call an explosive finish! Let's take a look at the final damage!"
When the explosion was finished, it showed both fighters laying down on the floor. The final strike was a success.
"Oh my, it looks like we have a double knockout! But to make it official, let's bring in the Knockout Timer!" Lakitu announced as the timer appeared on the screen. Then he said, "Now, here's how this is going to work. Both fighters will have ten seconds to get up from the knockout. If one fighter stands up and the other stays down before the buzzer, then we will have a winner. If both fighters get up, then the judges will decide. However, if both fighters stay down and the buzzer sounds, then we will go to sudden death. So, let's see what happens. Knockout Timer... START!"
With the word shouted, the timer has started. The crowd started to count as both fighters tried to get up.
"1, 2, 3..."
As the timer continued on, both fighters are still struggling to get up from the knockout.
"4, 5, 6, 7..."
Only three seconds left until the buzzer and both fighters still have a chance to get up. Someone has to do it, and fast.
"8, 9..."
Both fighters took one final push as the buzzer is about to go off. Everyone watched the final moments and then...
Someone has been knocked out with a thud. It's official.
"10!"
BEEP!
Lakitu heard the final buzzer and said, "FINISH! Ladies and gentlemen, I'm pleased to announce that the winner of this match by a knockout is... ROY KOOPA!"
The stadium cheered very loudly as Roy Koopa stood up just in time with Prince Mush laying down on the floor. Roy smiled as Lakitu raised up his hand, signaling his official victory.
Mush stood up and said, "Great fight, Roy!"
"Same to you, Mush!" Roy agreed as they shared a hug for a great match.
Matt and the judges also applaud for their performance as Roy and Mush enjoyed their match at the Superstar Stadium. Then Matt said, "Well, there you have it! Roy Koopa won the match just as the Knockout Timer buzzer went off. Peach, what are your thoughts on this amazing performance?"
"I say that this match is awesome! From the melee attacks to the final knockout, this is a beautiful display of sportsmanship we've seen here today!" Peach replied with a smile.
"OK! Dragon, how about you?"
"One of my favorite matches this stadium has ever seen! I like the part when both fighters tried to get up from the knockout and when the buzzer sounds, I saw Roy standing up just in time. Perfect!" Dragon said.
Matt agreed with his comment and said, "Thanks for the comment, Dragon! Well, that about does it for today! I would like to thank our judges and to our special guest referee Lakitu! Until next time, this is Matt saying fight on and be a superstar! Take care, everyone!"
