The Story of an Unusual Pureblood Vampire

Chapter Two- The First Night of Class

Snow's P.O.V.

That night, I had all of my books and notebooks ready for class inside my messenger bag. Not that I really needed them, because I had a perfect memory, I remember everything that people say or that I read. It surprised my mother and father when I could tell them just about anything that they said in my presence in the first two weeks after my birth.

While I was waiting for it to be time for our classes, I laid down in bed and just thought about the possibility that maybe Takuma liked me, as well.

What if he does like me? How will I find out if he does for sure? I thought things like this for about an hour and a half until Hana-chan knocked on the door that connected our rooms.

I went to the door and opened it, he was in his uniform and I have to admit it worked well for him.

"Are you ready for your first night of class, Snow?" He asked.

I simply nodded and walked over to my bed to grab my messenger bag and as I walked my uniform skirt swished around my legs. He came through the joint door and closed it behind him. Then he strutted over to the main door and opened it, standing in front of the door was Takuma.

As soon as I seen him, I couldn't help but look away blushing.

He was wearing the normal carefree smile that I always see him with, and he looked even better in his uniform than Hana-chan looked in his.

"Kaname has asked me to escort you to class, Eve. And you, Hanabusa, he wishes to see in his office. He says he needs to talk to you about something important," Takuma said in a kind way.

"Okay. Don't let anything happen to her," Hana-chan said and then he walked out the door, past Takuma, and down the hallway.

I lost sight of him when he turned the corner. Then I looked back at Takuma.

"Okay. Well, I am ready whenever you are, Takuma-kun," I said.

"Very well, then. Let's get going," he said as he smiled at me kindly.

We then left my room and began to walk to our class. I assumed that it would just be us two walking to the class, but I was wrong. When we got down to the lounge, all of the Night Class members were waiting. It seemed as though they all walked to the class together and that was cool.

When we reached the bottom step of the stairs that came down into the lounge, Ruka stepped forward.

"Did you tell her yet, Takuma?" she questioned the blonde boy on my left.

He shook his head making his hair move back and forth around his face. "I have not yet explained it to her."

"Takuma, you need to so that she isn't surprised when we go out there," said Hana-chan's cousin, Akatsuki, in a calm tone.

"Alright," Takuma then paused and faced me. This time when he looked at me he had a more serious expression.

Takuma's P.O.V.

It was so hard for me to look into those beautiful eyes this time. I wanted to tell her how I was feeling about her, but deep down I knew it wasn't the time. All of the others were here right now, it was time for the class change over, and I needed to explain to her that Toga Yagari and Kaito Takamiya are the two that oversee the change over since Yuuki and Zero left the academy together. We didn't want her to be surprised that two Vampire Hunters were in charge of protecting us.

"Okay... so how much did your mother and father tell you about their duties when they attended this academy just three years ago?" I started with this question, because if her parents had told her they were Guardians of the Night Class and our secret, then it would make it much more simple to explain to her.

Her eyebrows knitted together. "They wouldn't tell me anything about their time here. Did something bad happen to them while they were here, Takuma?"

I could tell by the way that she said my name that she was worried, so I didn't want to tell her about all of the bad things that did in fact happen to her parents while they were here. And besides, it was their choice whether or not they decide to tell her.

So I will just tell her about them being Guardians here, I thought to myself.

"Nothing that they couldn't handle. But that isn't why I am asking. You see, Eve, your parents were the prefects at this academy. Although we called them 'Guardians'. The Headmaster, Kaien Cross, your mother and father's adoptive dad, appointed them to the job and he asked them to keep everyone safe. Other than Kaien Cross and us, they were the only two on the campus that knew of our being vampires. The Day Class students seemed to like us a lot, and they even tried to swarm us. So, Headmaster Cross asked Yuuki and Zero to 'guard' us during the class switch over in the evening. Since they left, Cross had to appoint someone else to do it. The two new Guardians of the change over are Toga Yagari and Kaito Takamiya, who are both Vampire Hunters. Now, let me explain this the best I can. Kaito will probably say some horrid things about you because he will be able to tell you are a Pureblood. However, Mr. Yagari is one of our teachers as well as the Guard for the switch over. He is also... Kaien Cross's... er... lover?" I paused and looked at Ruka. "Is that the word I should use?"

At her small nod, which was accompanied by a grin, I continued. "Anyways, he always tries to keep Kaito in line. And he won't tolerate the Day Class students being a pain in the rear-end either. So... are you okay with this? Ruka can stay right by your side if you want that way none of the humans get too close."

Despite my saying Ruka could stay by her side, I really wished I would be the one at her side constantly.

Her very pale face turned a light red and she said in a very quiet way, "Takuma, I would feel a lot more comfortable with you at my side. Since I feel like I know you better than the others at the moment. Would that be okay?"

I smiled in a very delighted way. "Of course. That would be fine."

Ruka's P.O.V.

There was something very suspicious about the way that Takuma smiled at Eve. It was almost as if he was more than happy about being the one she chose. It kind of upset me a little bit but I figured that I should let it go, because jealousy in our close-knit group at this Academy could pull us apart. Even though I hated to admit it, I loved this group of vampires. They were like my second family and I wasn't going to let anything get in the way of it.

However, it was also very odd that Eve claimed to know him better than she knew me, because she had spent about the same amount of time with us as she had with Takuma. She had only spent a few extra minutes with him, it wasn't like she had known him for a year. Something very strange was going on there.

Do they like each other? I thought this, and the moment I did it made perfect sense.

That explained his expression, his happiness, the way he looked at her, and it even explained the fact that she was blushing when she said she preferred him over me.

After I realized the truth of the matter, I was no longer jealous. In fact, I wanted to get them to admit it to each other. Because other than Hanabusa and Kaname, Takuma was the only single guy in our group. I had Akatsuki, and Rima had Senri.

I am determined to get them together. I will do it. I vowed this to myself.

Snow's P.O.V.

I turned toward the door, as Takuma informed me that normally Kaname is the first to go out the gate, but since he was absent, it would be he and I that go first.

So it was Takuma and I in front of everyone and the others just fell in behind us.

We opened the door to the dormitory, and walked out, then we headed to the gate and stopped in front of it. I was shocked at how loud the creaking, of the wrought iron doors, was.

When the gate opened, I saw what they had been telling me. There was a huge group of girls swarming together, screaming various things about my fellow vampires.

I heard a lot of things like "Senri, I love you!", "Takuma, you are so cute!", "Wild!", and just in general a lot of random names being yelled.

Then I saw a small group of guys, I could hear them talking quietly (even over the screaming girls) about Ruka. But when I walked out with Takuma and they saw me, a lot of the noise stopped at once. Then it eventually stopped all together and everyone stared at me in wonder and curiosity.

I looked down at myself to make sure nothing was wrong with me. Everything seemed to be in order. So I looked to Takuma.

I whispered to him, "Why are they staring at me like that?"

He chuckled a little bit. "They aren't used to seeing new Night Class members. We don't get new members often."

"Oh. I thought something was wrong with me..." I muttered, mostly to myself.

"There could never be anything wrong with you," Takuma responded, and I looked at him blushing a little. He hurried to add, "Because you're a Pureblood and all."

I got this strange feeling... It seemed Takuma only added the last part so that none of the others would ask questions. However, I couldn't just assume that. I mean, what if he was being completely genuine?

The strawberry blonde woman, and her flaming-haired man, walked up beside me and she smiled.

"It's also because, like Kaname-sama, they can sense that you are kind of above them," Ruka whispered.

"And also they are stunned by your beauty, Evelyn-sama," said Akatsuki.

Before those words left his mouth, the Day Class students started to murmur amongst themselves. I heard different things.

Many of the boys were saying things like, "Dang, she's even prettier than Ruka. I didn't think that was possible." A a bunch of the girls were just staring at me still. A few had the never to glare at me. I heard a group of three girls having this conversation:

Girl One: "Great, now we definitely have no chance with any of the Night Class guys... How can we compete with that?"

Girl Two: "No fair!"

Girl Three: "I bet all of the Night Class guys are going to be drooling all over her..."

Girls One and Two: "Yeah..."

Then all three of them sighed heavily, it was a sigh of utter defeat.

I don't know what all the fuss was about, I had never seen myself as pretty. So really they had nothing to worry about. Besides, I already had someone that I liked... And I didn't need any unnecessary attention from any of the other Night Class guys. I really only wanted Takuma's attention.

I noticed I had stopped walking, and apparently so had Takuma. Because all of a sudden his hand went around my elbow, which made me startle a bit.

"Come on, Eve. We'll be late if we don't start moving," He murmured next to me.

I nodded and that's when chaos broke out, some of the girl's started screaming just because Takuma touched my arm, and some of the guys glared heavily at him.

At that moment, one of the girls shoved another, and the girls that was shoved started to fall toward the ground. I ran forward to catch her, but someone beat me to it. I looked up and met the eye of one very famous Hunter. One Toga Yagari.

All of the noise suddenly stopped, just like it had when I walked out the gate.

He helped the student stand straight and she blushed. I understood why. Mr. Yagari, though older than the students, was very attractive even though he only had one eye.

"Are you alright, Miss?" He asked her to make sure she was not hurt.

"I'm f-f-fine. Th-thank y-you," then the girl ran off to the back of the crowd.

The Hunter wore a long coat, with a button up white shirt (the collar sticking out of the jacket), and jeans. He always had a strap over his back with his shot gun attached, and often wore his cowboy hat, not on his head but around his neck. His dark bluish- black hair fell wildly to his shoulders. And he had an eye patch over his right eye, while his left eye was a pale stone blue.

I looked up at the man that was like a father to my dad, but rather than consider him my grandpa... I considered him to be an Uncle of sorts. So that was how I addressed him.

"Long time no see, Uncle Toga." I said as I smiled and bowed slightly.

I heard a few people whispering about what I called him.

"Hello, Little Eve," He patted me on the head the way that he always did when he came to visit us at our house. "Girl, you have grown way too much already."

I giggled a little and the sound made a few people the Day Class crowd gasp. Why? I haven't a clue. "That's what everyone tells me."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the movement of a very tall fellow in the day class uniform. When I looked over to the male, he was glaring pretty hard at me. He had lighter brown hair than my mother's and dark brownish eyes.

"Yagari, why didn't you tell me she was going to be here?" Kaito said.

I grinned at the one Takuma had early warned me about. I didn't want to mention to Takuma that Kaito and I had met before because he had been such a sweetheart and warned me. I had not known about the Guardian stuff that he spoke of, but I knew this Hunter also attended the academy.

"So nice to see you too, Kaito-chan. It's been quite some time since you visited me. I missed you!" I shouted and to make this even more entertaining for everyone else, I jumped closer to him and wrapped my arms around his waist.

He looked down at me and chuckled. "Whatever. Now just get off of me."

"No. Absolutely not until you give me a hug back, you big meanie!" I pouted.

Kaito sighed, quickly wrapped his arms around me, and then moved me away from him. I knew that he very much hated being the center of attention which is exactly what he was right now.

As I looked at the human students, they all seemed shocked. Must be that Kaito never smiled or anything like around them. He had always had a bad attitude toward other people. Never had been a people person.

When I turned back to look at the Night Class, they all seemed... Hm... What's the word I'm looking for... Amused? AH yes. They looked amused. I had led them to believe that Kaito was someone I had not yet known, and therefore they had been worried for me. But now, having seen the show that I put on, they seemed amused.

The look that was covering Takuma's face was priceless. He was so cute. He looked amused, shocked, and terrified all at once. His mouth was hanging open. I walked back to his side and giggled.

"Takuma-kun... Are you okay?" I giggled again.

"When I heard you call him 'Kaito-chan' and saw the look on his face... I thought he was going to kill you... But... you must know him because of your father...?" He muttered to me as started walking and I followed beside him. The rest of the Night Class slowly walked behind us.

"He use to come see me... He visited a few times... I haven't seen him in a while. To be truthful, I really miss seeing him... Anyways, I apologize for not telling you that I knew him already. I really should have said something. I hope you didn't worry needlessly when he gave me that classic death glare of his." I couldn't help but giggle a little at the thought.

"It's alright." I didn't know that Mr. Yagari was your uncle either," The blonde said as we were almost to the school building.

"Well, technically he isn't family at all really. However, because he is dating my adoptive grandfather, I consider him to be family. Also, he is like a second father to my dad. So... Since he seems to young to be called grandfather I call him 'uncle'. Its the same with Kaien. He's too young to be called grandfather by me, so I call him that too. And if I called them grandfather... then people would really start asking questions about who my parents are..." I trailed off with my rant as we reached the front doors to the Academy building where classes are held.

I looked at the door, and grew a little nervous as Seiren came up and opened the door. She was always very quiet, but also polite from what I could tell. She held the door open and Takuma gestured me in first, then he followed and I watched as she held the door for everyone else after us.

Once she walked in and the door closed, I smiled and bowed to her. "Thank you very much, Seiren-san."

She simply nodded. I wondered if Kaname neglected her, and never showed her the respect I was sure that she deserved.

Akatsuki's P.O.V.

The Pureblood Princess was very entertaining, I had to admit. Typically people didn't much impress me. She did. She had not told us that she knew Yagari or Takamiya, so we had expected them to be angry when they saw another Pureblood.

Instead, she scared the hell out of us by calling Takamiya "Kaito-chan"... I think Takuma about had a heart attack when she went to hug him.

Speaking of Takuma, the blonde was constantly blushing when he talked to Evelyn-sama. It was a bit weird. I think that he has a crush on her. Actually I knew that he did. It was not hard to tell by the way that he talked to her. It was the same way I often spoke to Ruka, and the way my dear cousin Hanabusa had talked to Yuuki until she and Kiryu had married.

I also had to admit, in the three years that Hanabusa had been gone I really missed him. He had left to serve Yuuki and Zero because he loves her. Even though he still won't admit it to anyone else. It was very obvious.

The Kuran Princess had surprised me even more with how polite she was. She was the complete opposite of Kaname. So kind and respectful and cheerful. I couldn't believe how much of a jokester she was, being the child of Zero after all.

We were following her and Takuma to class and I was holding Ruka's hand.

This had been the most amusing trip to class that I had ever taken an I definitely had enjoyed it. When we reached the building and Seiren held the door for us like she always did, and Evelyn-sama bowed to thank her, she surprised me yet again.

I actually bowed myself and said thank you as well. I couldn't help it. She was just so influential because she was a Pureblood and the rest of my classmates bowed and thanked her as well. I guess they couldn't help themselves either.

Seiren, who was not use to being thanked, turned a bit red in the face and let go of the door. It shut and she walked on ahead of everyone else. I suppose she must have felt odd being bowed to.

Snow's P.O.V.

For one such as me, it was highly odd to see everyone copy what I was doing. I was never going to be able to get use to that. It was so weird.

Seiren had ran off in front of us, I think she felt uncomfortable.

We all kept walking and when we got to our classroom, she was already sitting down in a seat all the way at the top of the classroom.

I had seen rooms like this before in movies. It was set up like a college classroom, where each row of seats and desks was higher than the last one. Takuma-kun smiled at me.

"Pick a seat, any seat," He said and I smiled back at the very handsome blonde.

"Where do you normally sit?" I asked him quietly.

"Second row from the top in the middle on the left side of the aisle. Looking toward the front of course," Takuma seemed to be babbling and acted nervous.

So to help keep him from being nervous, I walked up the aisle- between the two sides of the room- and then went to the second row from the top and sat near the middle -where he told me he likes to sit.

He sat down next to me and smiled softly. While I waited for the teacher to enter the class, I pulled out my note book and started to draw.

About ten minutes later, Uncle Yagari walked in and I smiled as I seen him being followed in by Hana. And then my smile vanished a second later as I saw a familiar face.

The masculine face was framed by shaggy milk chocolate hair and there were two purple tinted orbs in the place of eyes.

Kaname Kuran looked up the rows of seats until his eyes met mine and I instantly looked down. I knew that no one else in the room would ever dare to do that, because they were his followers and he their superior.

Me, however, I am his equally and so I have no need to show him respect like everyone else. It still bothered me the way he looks at my parents. One so very loving, the other so hateful... I feel I can never get over it.

'Please let this first night of class go smoothy and contain no altercations with Kaname,' I thought to myself.

To my right, I seen Takuma stand up and bow. I glanced up and saw that the rest of the class was also bowing to Kaname.

Everyone except Uncle Yagari, Hana, and I.

I understood while Uncle and I weren't but I honestly had no idea why Hana-chan didn't.

Next thing I knew, everyone was sitting down and Kaname and Hana were walking up the middle aisle. Kaname walked up one row past Takuma and I and sat all the way at the end near the window. And Hana walked into the row that was directly in front of Takuma and I. he walked until he was right past us then jumped over the seat and desk top. He landed flat on his feet facing the back, then simply turned and sat down.

"Welcome back, Hana-chan," I smiled to my friend.

He smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Snow. So how was the trip here for you?"

Takuma instantly busted up laughing and Hanabusa looked at him, confused.

"What's so funny, Takuma?" The one blonde asked the other.

"I kind of... scared the hell outta them all... Because I didn't tell them that Yagari was Uncle. And I also called Kaito 'Kaito-chan' like I do at home... They thought he would kill me or something. You know how he is I guess," now it was me that was laughing and Hanabusa quickly joined me.

"Alright, class. Quiet down. Time for school work," said Uncle.

We all quieted and from there the rest of the class time flew by. Most of the stuff we learned about, I already knew. Since when I was at home I had spent most of my time reading text books and other types to books, I knew a lot and I never forget what I read.

And to my utter surprise, nothing went wrong for the rest of class.

After class, I was called to the Headmaster's office. I got a few looks from Night Class students I was sure meant they thought that I was in trouble.

I got up and Hanabusa stood up at the same time, then Takuma did as well.

Hanabusa spoke first, "Should I come with you?"

Then Takuma, "I could go with her, if you want to catch up with your cousin."

"Yeah, Hanabusa. I know you haven't gotten to see Akatsuki in a long time. So why don't you go spend time with him? And Takuma can come along with me," I smiled and hugged Hanabusa before I shoved him on his way to catch his cousin.

Takuma smiled at me and started to lead the way. And off we went to see my adopted grandfather.
