A/N: SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG TO UPDATE! *dodges knives being thrown at me* I have a lot going on that I will get into once this chapter is finished, but I will try to update AT LEAST once a week from now on, okay? Love y'all! :D
"CANNONBALL!" Natasha said, jumping into the river from on top of the cliff.
"Cannonball?" Sokka said.
"Never heard that before." Toph said.
What the hell is this life? Matthew thought. I see why Natasha is so weird now.
Natasha came out of the lake and squeezed the water out of her hair. "Matt," she said.
He looked up. "Yeah?"
"The lake is fine, dude," she said, "Jump in."
"No, thanks," he said.
Natasha let her hair down and sat on the rocks. She pulled her hair to her shoulder.
Matt had a million things he wanted to say. Why are we here? Do you know what's going on? Natasha…
But none of those things came out.
.
"What am I supposed to do?" Aang asked, "The invasion's tomorrow!"
Natasha sat on the cliff side, playing with her hair.
"Natasha!" Katara said, "Do something with your brother!"
Natasha sighed. "Isn't this my break?" she joked.
"Are you kidding me? Natasha, the invasion is tomorrow and Aang hasn't slept at all!"
"Aang," Natasha said, "Sleep."
"But—"
"Sleep, child."
"I can't!"
Natasha looked at Katara. "I tried."
"Amazing!" Sokka said, "The only two airbenders left in existence are completely useless!"
"I am not useless!" Natasha said.
When night finally came, Natasha fell asleep under a tree, unaware of the events to come.
New Year's Eve a few years back was the day Natasha met Matthew. It started with a game of Spin the Bottle, in which Matthew was dared to kiss the prettiest girl in the room.
He looked around, trying to determine who, in his eyes, was the prettiest. Then he saw Natasha.
He didn't know much about the girl, except for the fact that she once beat up a senior after he harrassed her friend. The story had spread all over the school.
But besides that, she was pretty. That particular night, she had highlights put in her hair and wore a somewhat exposing top. In his eyes, she was gorgeous.
So he came up to her and kissed her. Surprisingly, she kissed back, unaware that they would end up falling in love.
"Natasha!"
Natasha awoke from her flashback to Sokka standing over her.
"Why are you sleeping in?! We have to kick Fire Nation butt!"
Matthew was dressed in Fire Nation attire as a disguise. Because of the solar eclipse, Matt was unable to use Firebending.
"Matt," Natasha said.
Matt turned around. "Hey."
"Look," she said, "I'm sorry I attacked you on the Fire Nation ship the other day. I was just... mad. And in shock. I'm sorry."
"It's okay," Matthew said, "I think I would've acted the same if I was in your shoes."
She nodded and started to walk away.
"Wait," Matt said.
Natasha turned around.
"Just..." He took her hand. "Promise me you're gonna be okay."
She nodded. "I promise."
Natasha looked around, then gave Matt a tender kiss on the lips. "I gotta go now. I'll see you later, okay?"
He nodded, trying to conceal his blush.
Natasha took the knife and cut off bunches of her hair.
"Hey, Natasha, I think I- whoa." Aang looked at her.
She cut her hair up to her shoulders, the way it was just before Ba Sing Se was attacked.
"I-I like your hair," Aang said.
"Thanks. I like yours, too,"
He chuckled. "I don't have any-"
"I know," she smiled. "Good luck, okay? Don't do anything stupid. And oh," She smirked. "I think it's about time Katara knows."
"Hmm?"
"Nothing," she smiled sheepishly. "You know what I mean."
Aang looked back at Katara. His sister was right.
A/N: Now, explaining:
In the past year I've had a lot going on, most of it I won't get into, but I'll get into the important part: I may or may not be pregnant. I've been so exhausted and hormonal lately, I haven't had the will to write anything- and I mean anything. Sorry if my chapters get a little short, but I will try to update at least once a week. My goal is to finish this story by the end of this year (2015) and possibly work on a sequel. Thanks for hanging in there you guys. Love you :)
