LadySongbird16 and I are really sorry that it took so long for this chapter to come. We hope all of our readers like it. We have hit a bit of a snag in coming up with new ideas so if anyone has any and they want to share please send a review or PM to either of us and please tell of what you think of this fic so far. Chapter 16

Well, mating season was finally over. So Jade, Amber, and Violet all came out of hiding and where back at work. Despite the end of mating season however, Jackie and the rest of the J team where still very concerned that Tarakudo was up to something evil. Jackie still had a hunch that he was planning to make Jade Queen of the Shadowkhan again. The Devil didn't seem to show much concern about it though, and of course Jade didn't seem to care at all. At the present moment Jade and her friends were at work. So the J team was sitting in their room in the palace, attempting to relax. It was really working though; it's Hell after all it wasn't their world. It's clearly difficult to feel at ease when you know that you're an outsider, an outcast even.

"I still can't believe that Tarakudo sent her gifts. What kind of game is he playing at?" Jackie questioned.

"Jackie, I don't like the fact that he sent Jade all those gifts either, but millions of other males must have been after her." Viper confirmed.

"So why should this one demon make such a big difference amigo?" El Toro asked.

"This is a demon that we had problems with ten years ago. One more thing, he's only interested in Jade because she is the daughter of the Devil." Uncle declared.

"Perhaps you are right sensei, but Jade is still a grown woman, and she has made it clear that she does not wish for us to keep pestering her with our worries." Tohru stated.

"How can we not be worried though? Jade might be a reaper and the heir to the throne of Hell in this world, but she's still family, and I only want to make sure she stays safe." Jackie declared.

"You fool Chan…" The J Team turned to see Daolon Wong and the Demon sorcerers entering the room, minus Po Kong of course. "The girl is a woman now, and she is one feisty and determined fighter. Then again she seems to have been like that even as a mere child." Daolon Wong stated.

"Yes, and if there's one thing we have all learned about that girl in the past decade Chan, it's that she won't let anybody stop her from fighting." Drago declared.

"Since when does this conversation concern any of you?" Paco questioned.

"You seem to forget boy, the reason we came here was for our revenge on the Dark King, but seeing how he threatened to send us into a dimension even worse than the one he sent us too before, the girl's feelings can clearly affect what happens to us." Tchang Zu stated.

"Well, you're still not going to stop us from talking to Jade once more." Jackie declared.

"Suit yourself then Chan." Shendu hissed.

A few hours later Jade and her friends got out of work and where headed toward their suites to get changed out of their uniforms.

"So Jade, what should we all do tonight?" Amber asked excitedly.

"I don't know, I'm guessing maybe we can hang out in my suite tonight and play video games or watch a movie or something like that." Jade suggested.

"No clubbing tonight?" Dante asked.

"I'm not really in the mood for it tonight. Plus, I have some things that I need to do after work tomorrow." Jade replied.

"Learning the basics of being the Devil?" Mark questioned.

"That's what he called it. I'm sure that he's lying though and it's more than the basics." Jade deadpanned.

"Jade, wait up." A voice called to her.

Jade turned to see the J team approaching her. She merely rolled her eyes and turned her attention to her friends.

"You guys go on ahead. I'll catch up with you later." Jade said.

"Okay, good luck with them." Violet stated.

Once her friends were gone Jade walked over to where the J team was waiting for her.

"What do you want this time?" Jade questioned.

"To talk to you about Tarakudo." Jackie declared.

"Yeah, what about him?" Jade asked.

"He's roaming around Hell, and he sent you gifts during mating season. You aren't the least bit concerned that he might try and be tempting you into becoming the Queen of the Shadowkhan again?" Jackie asked.

"No Jackie, and even if that's what he wants, millions of males wanted to have the chance to court me. Why do you think the girls and I were hiding the whole season? This has got to stop. I appreciate the concern from all of you, but this has gotten old. I thought that maybe you would have learned that a few months ago but no. I'm 21 years old; I'm clearly not a kid anymore. I also happen to be a reaper and someday I'm going to be the next Devil. You can't keep treating me like this. From now on, let me take care of my own problems because I happen to be very capable of doing so; and as for Tarakudo, if he does come I'll be ready for him. Now just leave me alone." Jade demanded before stomping away.

"Jade, please wait." Jackie said trying to follow her.

However, Mamoru appeared right in front of him and blocked his path.

"She said for you all to leave her alone, so I suggest that you all do so." Mamoru stated before disappearing into the ground.

"We told you fools that it would not work." A raspy voice confirmed.

The J team turned to see Daolon Wong and the demon sorcerers in their presence once again.

"Fuck off!" Paco snarled.

A few days later the J team and the demons were awoken by the noise of loud pounding on the bedroom door. Two guards entered the room.

"Your presences are requested in the throne room. None of you however are allowed to say a word or go anywhere that you are not instructed to go to." One guard stated.

"And what exactly would this be for?" Viper questioned.

"Don't ask any questions. Now let's go." The other guard demanded.

The J Team and the demon were led to the throne room where the Devil, Jade, several reapers including her friends, and several other Hellians, most likely politicians sitting all throughout the throne room.

"What is going on here?" Uncle asked.

"Diplomats have traveled from the other side of Hell after they heard the news that Jade has accepted the role of heir to the throne." Mark declared as he walked by.

On cue the doors to the throne room opened and several elderly looking men dressed in red robes entered the throne room. They stopped a few feet in front of the throne and kneeled before Jade and the Devil.

"Your majesty, we began our journey the minute we heard the news of the princess's decision. This is truly a joyous time for the people of Hell." One of the men said.

'Indeed it is. I thank you gentlemen for making such a long journey. You are welcomed guests in my palace." The Devil declared.

"I trust that you have already begun preparing a celebration for the coronation your majesty?" Another diplomat asked.

"We already had one. We had a few reapers, politicians, and commoners come. Besides The Dark King made the announcement long before mating season began." Jade said.

"This is true your majesty?" Another diplomat asked.

"Yes, you see due to some unfortunate events we decided to simply get the formal matters over with." The Devil declared.

"Unfortunate events?" The diplomats questioned.

"Within the past few months we had troubles with a certain reaper. This was followed by his death. Also, there have been attempts by many thieves to steal the jewel of Hikari." The Devil stated.

The J team was just completely bewildered by what they were seeing.

"This is all really happening after all." Jackie whispered.
