So here's the newest chapter. LadySongbird16 and I wanted to develop some of our side characters a little more and since we haven't seen too much of Mamoru lately we decided to start with him. We hope everyone likes that chapter and if you have the time please leave a review, feedback would be highly appreciated.
Chapter 24
It was another weekend in Hell and Jade and decided her friends to go out to see a concert, and of course they invited Paco. Mamoru came too since he was Jade's bodyguard, but Jade wanted him to come since he was also her friend. Yes there were bands in Hell as well. The band they were seeing was called Innuendo, a rock band, formed by six Hellians, who were the children of former advisors to the Dark King himself. Normally Jade didn't like taking advantage of all the benefits of being a reaper and the daughter of the Devil, but getting front row seats and VIP passes to a concert for one of your favorite bands in Hell is definitely a perk a girl can really enjoy. Jade had first heard of the band a week after she had returned to Hell from Violet and Amber. This actually surprised her because when they were younger Violet always preferred classical music; especially since she played the violin and Amber was into a popular all-girl pop band called Succubus.
Once the band performed their final song, the group decided to go back stage, having the VIP passes meant that they got to meet the band.
"That was some pretty cool music," Paco stated. "Definitely different than some of music I've heard back in Mexico."
"Really, how so?" Mark questioned.
"Well, music in Mexico is usually more upbeat," Paco stated. "We have rock bands too, but I guess I'm so used to mariachi and salsa music."
"So what's your verdict on Innuendo then?" Violet questioned.
"I like them," Paco replied.
"I know, I can't wait to meet them," Amber said enthusiastically.
"I know, meeting Lucille gonna be awesome," Dante declared.
The others just gave him a questioning look.
"What, it's not my fault that their lead singer is really hot," he stated.
The girls just rolled their eyes.
"I guess it's not his fault though," Amber declared. "There guitar player Jason is pretty hot.
This time the guys were the ones to roll their eyes.
"Seriously, why do you hang out with these guys?" Mamoru asked.
"I hate to tell you this Mamoru, but you're not exactly normal either," Jade declared.
"Are you calling me weird?" Mamoru asked.
"Yes, yes I am" Jade replied.
"Why do I hang out with you?" Mamoru questioned.
"Because you would have nothing else to do besides act as my bodyguard if you didn't," Jade confirmed.
"Dammit, why are you always right?" Mamoru asked.
"I'm not always right," Jade stated.
"Actually, you pretty much are," Dante stated.
"I wasn't talking to you Dante," Jade declared.
"Ha-ha, love you too Jade," Dante replied.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The next day Jade and the Devil made their weekly visit to Zyon's grave. Since both of them were going now, if somebody saw them, they wouldn't dare to even speak or make a comment about it. The Devil may have shown respect, kindness, and fairness, but many were still very fearful of him. They had every reason to be after all he possessed powers that could summit any unlawful Hellian to many types of torture that were beyond the imagination of an earthling.
Once they returned to the palace they decided to train. Mamoru had did not feel like simply watching them so he decided to go for a walk, it was his day off anyway. He found himself walking towards the cemetery.
He couldn't help but wonder, what did Jade and the Devil feel when they went to Zyon's grave, sadness, remorse, ease; he really didn't understand these emotions. Shadowkhan generally didn't have emotions, they were meant to obey however summoned them without question. He was different though, he was originally sent to capture Jade, but she changed him. She treated him like a friend as well as her bodyguard, so he had a basic grasp of what friendship is. He just couldn't understand what Jade and the Dark King felt by going to Zyon's grave. When he finally reached Zyon's grave her stopped in front of the tombstone.
"Jade was forced to kill you, and yet she and the Devil come here practically every weekend," Mamoru said to the stone. "Why though? What kind of feelings does it bring them? Does it make them remember good times they had with you? Do they feel sorry for you?"
"Mamoru?" A familiar voice said.
Mamoru turned to see Paco and El Toro wearing their luchador outfits.
"Oh, hi, what are you two doing here?" Mamoru asked.
"We were just going for a run," Paco stated. "It's part of training; just because we're in Hell, doesn't mean that we have to stop training all together."
"I see," Mamoru replied.
"What are you doing here?" Paco asked.
"I was hoping to get a better understanding what find of feelings Jade and the Devil get by coming here and why they come in general" Mamoru stated.
"Señor, many people feel different things when they go to graveyards," El Toro stated.
"Many feel sadness because it reminds them that their loved ones are no longer physically present; while many feel happiness because it reminds them of all the good times they experienced with that person when they were still alive. Sa to why they come, I cannot say, since I don't know too much about their relationship with Zyon outside the basics of it."
"Well, I'm definitely sensing a lot of sadness from this place," Mamoru stated. "Jade might not like to admit it, but I can feel and see the negative emotion behind the smile she uses a lot of the time. Whatever relationship she had with this boy Zyon is affecting her a lot more than she probably even knows. "
"Yade has definitely dealt with a lot since she returned here hasn't she?" Paco questioned.
"More than anyone actually knows," Mamoru declared.
"Has coming to the cemetery today made you realize this señor?" El Toro asked.
"I guess in a sense it has," Mamoru replied. "I can't help put get another feeling from being here though."
"What kind of feeling?" Paco questioned.
"It's as if somebody is watching all of us right now," Mamoru stated.
"But there is nobody here," El Toro declared.
"I know, that is the scary thing about it," Mamoru declared.
