Chapter 27
A few days later some of the J team decided to go back to the library. Believe it or not some of them did enjoy reading. So Jackie, Tohru, Uncle, and Viper made their way towards the giant wooden doors that lead to the library. When they entered they were surprised to find Mark and Violet sitting at one of the libraries many tables. It was strange because Jade and her friends were usually at work at this time of day.
"Well, look who's here Violet," Mark said looking up from his book.
Violet looked up from her book as well and acknowledged the familiar faces. "Hello everyone," she greeted.
"What are you two doing here?" Viper questioned. "Don't you have work today?"
"We got done early," Mark declared. "Jade, Dante, and Amber didn't want to do anything at the moment so Violet and I decided to come here ourselves. "
"Well, Jade has never really been one for books," Jackie declared.
"So what do you two come here to read?" Tohru questioned.
"Well, I'm reading a book on the mechanics of the bow arm," Violet declared. "It will help me improve my technique on the violin."
"You play the violin?" Jackie questioned.
"Yes, I do," Violet replied.
"How come we've never seen you carrying a violin then?" Uncle questioned.
"The only time you people really see us is when we're walking down the hall to go to or come back from work, or when we're simply heading to one of our suites," Mark declared.
"Yeah, I don't think that I'd be carrying my violin with me to work," Violet said.
"What about you?" Viper questioned looking at Mark. "What are you reading?"
"A book on the various cults of Hell," Mark stated.
"Wait, even in Hell there are cults?" Jackie questioned.
"Yeah, cults exist everywhere," Violet declared. "Is the Opposition listed in there?" She asked Mark.
"I saw their name in the table of contents at the end," Mark replied. "I doubt that all the information on them is up-to-date though."
"What is this Opposition that you speak of?" Uncle questioned.
Mark looked at Violet who just nodded.
"The Opposition was a cult that formed I think about 20 years ago," Mark declared. "At the time some of them were the Devil's advisors, and they were close followers of Zyon's father; they followed him up until his execution. After the Devil took in Zyon they were said to secretly be working to make sure that Zyon became the heir to the throne. There were numerous assassination attempts on Jade by them over the years in addition to the ones that Zyon acted on. That's why the Devil had no choice but to send her back to the human family that she came from."
"And what has become of them now?" Tohru asked.
"No one has really seen them since Zyon's death," Violet declared.
"Do you think they will try and make more attempts on Jade's life?" Jackie questioned.
"No, they're not that stupid," Mark declared. "Jade is the only heir to the throne left. If anything they'll try and use flattery somehow."
"Does the Devil himself know this is a possibility?" Viper questioned.
"Yes, he's known for quite some time," Violet declared.

Later
Jade was making her way to Violet's suite, this time Violet agreed to have a mini party, and it was BYOB. So Jade had run to the liquor store to get a bottle of vodka. She couldn't help but feel like someone was watching her while she was walking. She turned around and no one was there, but she knew for a fact that wasn't quite true.
"I know you're following me, so just come out already," Jade stated.
Out of the corner stepped Drago with a wicked grin on his face.
"It seems I've underestimated you again," he mocked.
"Yes, you seem to be doing that a lot lately," Jade declared.
"I guess I should start being more careful about what I do around you then shouldn't I?" Drago questioned.
Soon Drago was pinned against the wall and a dagger was being held against the side of his throat.
"Okay Junior, now why are you following me?" Jade questioned.
"For old times' sake I suppose," Drago stated.
"You expect me to believe that?" Jade asked.
"What reason would I have to lie to you?" Drago questioned.
"I can think of several actually," Jade replied.
"Now don't tell me you don't miss the past even a little," Drago implied with a smirk.
"Now you listen here you zit-faced gecko," Jade said. "You might have chased me around when I was a child, but it's different now. So don't get in my way, and I won't kill you; comprende?"
"Yeah, sure, whatever you say," Drago said.
Jade removed her dagger from his throat and placed it back in her pocket.
"Now don't even think about following me," Jade said before walking on, leaving Drago standing there.

The next day was thankfully Saturday, so Jade and her friends didn't have to work. The J team and the Enforcers were getting pretty bored, and it had been a long time since they had actually gone somewhere outside the palace so they decided that checking out the city would be a pretty good idea.
As they walked down the hall way they saw Jade and her friends going the other way.
"Hello Jade," Jackie said acknowledging his niece.
"Yo," Jade greeted.
"Where are you all heading today?" Amber questioned.
"We thought we'd go check out the city a bit," Finn said.
"Well, have fun with that," Dante said. "You're bound to find something interesting."
"Hey, are there any interesting museums around the city?" Ratso asked.
"Yeah plenty," Mark replied.
"Is the jewel of Hikari that you mentioned somewhere in a museum?" Chow questioned.
"No, actually, we're not supposed to tell you where it is," Violet declared.
"No one except the Devil himself and a selected few can see the jewel," Jade declared.
"Why is that?" Paco questioned.
"The jewel is extremely powerful and if it falls into the wrong hands, then Hell, and the Earth can be put in serious danger," Jade declared.
"Why not just put it behind bulletproof glass and have a highly advanced security system?" Viper asked.
"This is Hell, it's not that simple," Mark declared.
"Then why not…" Tohru began.
"You can't see it!" Amber said in a high pitched screechy voice.
Everyone just looked at her for a few seconds.
"Wow Amber, was that supposed to almost be a Mean Girls quote?" Dante questioned.
"I can't help it," Amber stated. "It just came out like that; and thanks for reminding me that I still never found out what happened to my DVD Dante!"
"Hey, sorry, no need to get all testy on me," Dante replied.
"Yeah, but bottom line, none of you can see the jewel," Jade declared. "So don't go around asking about it."
With that said Jade and her friends moved on.
"Well, that was damn weird," Paco declared.
