Playing with my social media accounts has become your new favorite thing. I don't know why, you just love it. You love trolling my fans, you love tweeting random fun facts about life, you love blocking gross requests.

You grab my phone whenever something strikes you as tweet worthy and boom, magic.

I'm not sure why you love it so much, you have your own accounts so I don't know why you need to work mine as well, but I let you. I let you because I secretly love when you do- it's like you're telling the world that I'm yours and they haven't the faintest clue.

It's our little secret.

We've stopped for lunch at one of our favorite cafes, taking a break from the shopping marathon we were running. The restaurant is brightly lit around us, the afternoon sun streaming in the windows. It's not too crowded, it's pretty empty between the lunch and dinner rush. You've set the bags holding our goods next to you on the floor, tucked away against the window and smile at me, grateful that I suggested stopping for food. I was getting a little snippy and I'm pretty sure your stomach grumbled at the last store.

If anyone recognizes me here, they don't approach. The waiter doesn't seem fazed by us, so he either doesn't know who I am or is just that blasé. I'm glad for it. Since my album came out, more and more fans have been coming out of the woodwork to approach me. I love it, it's part of my job, but sometimes I just want to be able to focus on you. My lovely, beautiful, incredibly understanding girl.

We both order drinks, the warmer weather lightening everything about the city. It's not summer yet, but it will be soon. The ring on my left hand sparkles in the light, drawing my attention. I'm still not used to it, the feel of it catching me off guard sometimes. How pretty it is surprises me almost every day, and I hear my breath catch sometimes when I look at it.

Babe, it's such a beautiful ring.

You ask what I'm getting, trying to decide what you'll order. You have a little habit of sneaking food off my plate, sometimes suggesting I get something just because you'll like it. It was one of the things I had to get used to when we started dating, but I've since grown to love it.

But, only when you do it, babe. Anybody else gets the glare.

We both order and I smile at you when I order something I know you'll love. I'm a sucker for a pretty girl, I guess. The waiter brings our drinks over a few minutes later, they're both in pretty, tall tropical glasses adorned with fruit, and look absolutely mouthwatering. I take a sip and hum at how delicious it is, watching as you quirk and eyebrow at me. I know that look. It's your 'scheming' look, and I have a sneaking suspicion we will be occupied once we get home.

I giggle at you, feeling my eyes light up with all the love I have for you. You just make me feel so much.

You ask me for my phone, saying you want to grab a picture of the drink to tease my followers with. It's like you're claiming me and showing everyone a piece of our lives without us actually having to do so.

I wrap my right hand slightly around the glass as you focus the camera on that. You lean down towards the table, cutting off my head in the pic, but framing some of my body behind my drink. I hide my left hand off the table, not wanting to announce our engagement yet. It's still for us, it's not for anyone else yet.

You are so cute when you work on posting it, your tongue sticking out of the side of your mouth, your brow furrowed in concentration as you pick out a filter and try to come up with a quippy tag. I don't know if my followers have caught on to two different posters, but your pictures always have the best descriptions and tags, and I always laugh when I read them later.

Suddenly, I'm overwhelmed with everything you. "Britt, wait. Don't post that yet."

The look of confusion on your face is so cute, "Why?"

"I have an idea. I think you're really gonna like it."

"Oh?"

I pause, smiling at you and dropping my teasing tone. "What if we take another picture, but my left hand is on the glass?"

Your face breaks out into the most brilliant smile. "Really?"

"Really."

"Are you sure, don't you have to talk to John before you announce anything?"

"I already talked to John weeks ago, remember? He said whenever I was ready, and to just let him know so he's not caught off guard. He's my manager, B, but he doesn't have a say in my personal life."

"I know. It's just a big thing."

"It is," I smile at you, "A very big thing. I can't wait until the world knows it."

You smile back at me and grab my hand across the table. I stare into your eyes until I see any uncertainty fade away, and your eyes are that crystal blue I love so much. You are the most important person to me, it's time I showed you off a little.

"Babe, it's time for the world to know that I'm yours. I'm taken. I'm off the market."

"Sweetie, you haven't been on the market for a while!" You voice is teasing, your eyes sparkling.

"Don't I know it!" I laugh, "But, seriously B, it's time. Our families know, our friends know, it's time everyone knew." I pause before I continue, "Are you gonna be ready? This is it; this is officially going to thrust you in the spotlight. No more speculation, no more hints, it's gonna be you and me."

"Santana, I've been ready for this since I met you." Your voice is so sure, your hand in mine so steady, your face so open. This is it, our next step. "Who knew taking an instagram was gonna be so serious?"

The bark of laughter I let out at your words rings around the restaurant.

You nudge my phone back across the table as you take a sly sip of your cocktail. I pick it up and see the picture you have framed and ready to go. We're holding hands on the table, my left hand is around the drink, but my face is frozen in a laugh. You caught me mid laugh, and I look so happy, baby.

I'm so distracted by your words and the feelings you've ignited in me again, that I didn't see you snap a picture.

It's the perfect picture to tease the public with. Your hand is in mine, my gorgeous ring is featured and I look radiant. We're not showing off, we're not featuring the ring, we're not playing coy. It's candid, it's us. It's all there for everyone to see, they just have to look close enough. Like our relationship. It's always been there for everyone to see if they looked.

"Britt, this is perfect."

"It is, isn't it? You look so beautiful when you laugh, San."

"I'm glad your hand is in mine."

"It always will be." Your smile is radiant, and I swoon.

"What caption are you going to put, B?"

"I was thinking about just saying 'happiness' or just #happy, let people work it out for themselves, you know? Make them work for it."

"Sounds perfect."

"You should text John before, just so he has a head's up."

"Good idea."

I type out a quick message to John, saying that it's time and that you and I are ready. He's been waiting for me to be ready to announce since you and I moved in together. He'll handle everything beautifully.

"I just want you to know, before you post that, that no matter what, our private life is going to stay private. Just like always."

"I'm not worried about that, Santana. I know."

"Now that we'll be publicly together, we can start sharing more pictures of the two of us... if you want."

You shrug but a small smile plays on your face, "I'd like that. Though I've liked keeping a lot of that between us."

"We don't have to change anything, it's just another option. But, you're right; I don't know how much I need to share with everyone. I have you and that's all that matters, and now everyone will know it."

"Baby…" The shy smile that spreads across your face says more than any words or explanation ever could. I squeeze your hand and smile back.

Here we go.
