Chapter 30
A full scale investigation was underway, Jade and the Devil made sure of that. Jade had decided to try and avoid getting involved in the investigation as much as possible. She didn't enjoy it, but she knew that if she got too involved that her personal feelings would only get in the way. So since there was only so much that she could do, and she had already done what she could, her friends agreed to pick up where she left off. So that meant that they were currently in charge of interrogating all the other Reapers. It was damn annoying, there was no evidence against any of the them, and worse they were all assholes about it saying that even if they didn't do it that they were glad that Zyon's body was gone, going as far as saying that his remains didn't even deserve to remain in Hell. Even the Reapers that weren't openly hostile and praising whoever took the body admitted to not liking him.
So after they finished there interrogations they decided to go see what Jade was up to in her suite. They had not seen Paco all day so they suspected that he was either with the J Team or hanging out with Jade. As they made it toward the reapers' suites they noticed a way too familiar and unfriendly face standing against the wall, Drago.
"What the Hell do you think you're doing here Gecko?" Violet questioned.
"Calm yourself girl," Drago said. "I'm simply here to get away from those idiots I have the misfortune of calling my roommates."
"Man you really hate everyone that much don't you?" Dante questioned.
"Humans are pathetic," Drago stated. "And those demons I call my family are no better."
"What do you have against family?" Amber asked.
"Family is pathetic," Drago replied. "Everyone just finds a reason to hate each other eventually."
"Yeah well, maybe to you but it's not that way for everyone," Mark declared. "Especially not Jade, so I wouldn't be going near her with that attitude unless you want to get yourself killed."
The four friends continued on until they finally reached Jade's suite. When they entered they found Jade sitting in her living room area playing Defiance with Paco. Jade heard them coming in so she pressed pause.
"Hola amigos," Paco greeted. "¿Cómo están?"
"Podríamos estar mejor sinceramente (We could be better honestly.)," Amber replied in Spanish.
"Guys, please speak English," Dante complained.
"Why, we had to learn all those languages for a reason?" Amber stated.
"Yeah, well we don't have to speak Spanish at this very moment," Violet added.
"Man, you guys suck the fun out of everything," Amber said.
"Of course we do," Jade said. "So how did everything go today?"
"Well, we investigated more of our coworkers, but we still have no leads," Mark said.
"Yeah, as rude as they all were none of them seem like they were behind the grave robbery," Dante declared.
"So basically we're further away from finding the culprit," Amber stated.
"Amber," Violet warned punching her in the arm.
"What did I do?" Amber complained.
"Don't worry guys," Jade said.
Everyone looked at her in shock.
"I'm pissed that we're not closer, but I'm not going to stop hoping because of it," Jade declared. "I'm also glad to know that you guys are here to help me."
"Why wouldn't we Yade?" Paco asked. "You're our friend after all."
"Yeah, we've had your back for so long, why would we stop now?" Dante questioned.
"Yeah, we're not like that," Violet said.
"By the way Jade, guess who was out in the hall earlier?" Amber said.
"Who?" Jade questioned.
"It was the gecko with zits," Mark stated.
"Does he have a death wish?" Jade replied. "I warned him to stay away or I'd kill him."
"Yeah, are you sure all he did was cause you guys mayhem whenever you ran into him ten years ago?" Violet questioned.
"Yeah, it was damn annoying," Jade replied.
"It was," Paco added. "I know that and I really didn't show up until we battled him and Shendu."
"Man that was a crazy day," Jade stated.
"So, now that the craziness for today is over, what should we do?" Mark asked.
"I honestly don't feel like going out anywhere," Dante replied.
"Ditto," the girls said.
"Why don't we just stay here then?" Violet suggested. "We can have another movie marathon."
"I like that idea," Amber replied. "Can we order pizza too?"
"Duh," Jade said.
"I think we need alcohol too," Mark added.
"Agreed," Dante said. "I'll go grab some from my room."
"Dante you know I have a minibar in here right?" Jade questioned.
"Yeah, but I don't think it's fair that we drink all your alcohol tonight," Dante said heading toward the door so he could go to his suite.
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
In the J Team and the Demon Sorcerers suite, everyone seemed very bored. Well, Jackie was never bored; he just seemed lost in thought. Viper seemed to notice this right away.
"What's on your mind Jackie?" She questioned.
"What do you mean?" Jackie asked.
"I've known you for a long time now Jackie," Viper confirmed. "I can tell when something is on your mind."
Jackie let out a frustrated sigh. "I know we were told not to go searching for the Opposition, but with how this whole situation is going makes me want to do just that."
"You fool!" Shendu hissed. "You're willing to disobey the Dark King for that girl?"
"You wouldn't understand at all," Viper stated. "You demons are the most dysfunctional family ever."
"We have reasons," Bai Tza stated.
"Yes, you see, all that matters to us is power and domination," Hsi Wu added. "So in this world family means nothing but blood to us."
"Of course you creatures would think that way!" Uncle yelled.
"Si, you don't know a thing about love or friendship," El Toro stated.
"Why should we care about either?" Dai Gui asked.
"Centuries of being trapped in the demon nether world together and they do not learn a thing about family," Tohru said.
"You fools are surprised by this?" Daolon Wong questioned.
"No," Jackie replied. "You would not understand either though."
"I have no desire to," Daolon Wong simply stated.
"That is why none of you could understand how much we care about Jade," Jackie stated.
"Yes, but going as far as going against the Devil's orders sounds like a horrible idea," Viper stated.
"I suppose you're right," Jackie replied. "I just hope Jade can be happy again."
